I watched the debate last night and fail to understand how anyone who claims to be in support of women could point a finger at any woman and raise his voice can get away with it without single soul pointing it out. I was a fan of Joe and Obama but the way he burated the host ws simply something a male dominating bully would do. Even if it wasn't meant that way, what is it telling our children and women who a being abused right now. It's okay to shout down and threaten women? It's time we brought back civil debate and respect for elders, women and children into our society and what Joe did was set thing back to an age where a woman was not allowed to ask a question without being preached too and threatened

Aren't politics funny. You teach your children everyday not to bully someone and it's not okay to call them a liar, never interupt, treat the weaker with respect and NEVER BULLY, THREATEN OR BEAT a woman, but since someone says they are for us women and sign a law or two to get our votes, it suddenly becomes okay to tell our children that pointing at, interupting and preaching to a woman in an event with millions of viewers is somehow fine because he is on our team. I found him to be less confrontational with the man at the table and didn't see him pointing his finger and pen at him but constantly talking to the woman at the table while jabbing his finger and pen in here direction with a threatening tone. Inasmuch as the whole world, except for msnbc liberals, know that Biden as president would be a nightmare. So, joe had no upside or downside. He was known as a loose cannon, rejected for leadership in the past many times over. The issue to be viewed was Ryan's ability to be president. Obama has been trying to paint him as unqualified. I would suggest that anyone but a solid liberal would have came away with a favorable view of Ryan.

It was great theater but Biden has been fact checked and he lied like hell. He said that Obama would raise taxes on anybody making over 1 million. Obama said he would raise taxes on anybody making over 250k. He said that Ryan was the reason for lack of security in Libia. The state department said money had nothing to do with the lack of security. Biden said nobody asked them for security. Testimony in front of Congress says they did. Howevr Biden not taking the debate serious and laughing the whole time( even when they were talikng about nuclear weapons) was priceless.

Let me say a few words about the really astonishing person who appeared at the vice presidential debate on Thursday – the moderator.

Martha Raddatz of ABC News didn’t ask puffy questions like Jim Lehrer did at the presidential debate. Or let the candidates get away with vague non-answers, as Jim Lehrer did.

Ms. Raddatz acted like a working journalist instead of a television personality from her first question, on Ambassador Stevens’ death: “It was a pre-planned assault by heavily armed men,” she said. “Wasn’t this a massive intelligence failure, Vice President Biden?”

Later, she pressed Mr. Ryan. “Governor Romney, and you’re talking about this again tonight, talked about the weakness; talked about apologies from the Obama administration. Was that really appropriate right in the middle of the crisis?”

“Mr. Ryan,” she said, “I want to ask you about — the Romney campaign talks a lot about no apologies. He has a book called ‘No Apologies.’ Should the U.S. have apologized for Americans burning Korans in Afghanistan? Should the U.S. apologize for U.S. Marines urinating on Taliban corpses?”

Mr. Ryan’s response: “Oh, gosh, yes. Urinating on Taliban corpses?”

Ms. Raddatz showed a consistent willingness to call the candidates on their “malarkey,” as the Vice President put it. When Mr. Ryan said he could cut taxes without reducing the deficit by eliminating loopholes, but didn’t actually mention which loopholes, she drew attention to his evasiveness: “No specifics, again.”

And she refused to let Mr. Ryan ignore her question about his ticket’s plan to increase the defense budget. By my count, she returned to that point six times, culminating with the rather sharp: “I want to know how you do the math and have this increase in defense spending?”

With 15 minutes left, after dragging the candidates through taxes, Medicare, Social Security, the budget deficit, terrorism and Afghanistan, she raised a topic that didn’t come up at all last week: How did each of the candidates’ personal beliefs (they are both Catholic) affect their views on abortion.

Mr. Ryan mentioned seeing an ultrasound of his first child at seven weeks, “who was in the shape of a bean.” He said he believes “that life begins at conception.” He said he respects other people’s views, but then made it clear he does not respect their rights.

Mr. Biden said his “religion defines who I am” and that included accepting his church’s doctrine that life begins at conception. “I just refuse to impose it on others, unlike my friend here the Congressman,” he said.

Then Ms. Raddatz cut through the malarkey: “If a Romney/Ryan ticket is elected, should those who believe that abortion should remain legal be worried?”

The answer from both candidates was yes.

“We don’t think unelected judges should make this decision.” Mr. Ryan said. Mr Biden said: “Just ask yourself, with Robert Bork being the chief adviser on the court for Mr. Romney, who do you think he’s likely to appoint?”

We’ll have an editorial on how the actual candidates performed, but Ms. Raddatz certainly won her part of the debate.

I WAS NOT saying I didn't think respect should be give to women. I said I did not see any disrespect toward her as a women. I though she did a bang up job and was exceptional good. Don't try and put your words into my post.

No words in anyones mouth and the long article really says nothing about the tone. Tell me where he confronted the man on the stage directly by pointing his finger and/or pen and spoke in a threatening manner. I thought she did an excellent job as well but wanted her to turn to him and say, "why are you angry with me Mr. Biden and I find the finger pointing and tone threatening. Why don't you direct that anger at Mr. Ryan?" Ever considered this:

1. Planned Parenthood is good thing for all women by providing free OGBYN and prenatal care but one side is willing to defund it so that abortion is stopped but in fact the other side is willing to defund it so that abortion is available. Why would both not drop the abortin aspect to insure the larger use of the system is maintained?

2. They are buying your vote for a $20 co-pay for contraception when in fact the $20 billion annual for that progam would fill in one-third of the donut hole. Why would you give out contraception for free and charge a co-pay for medicaions that seniors need to survive?

3. I didn't see where anyone but Joe Biden wildly pointing his finger at the only woman on the stage and narrowing his eyes as if threatening.

He confronted Ryan on his lies. He didn't speak disrespectful to the host. He pointed out she was not giving equal time. And with Ryan and Romney, there is only one way to confront their lies. Joe did what the President should have done.

I don't know about other religions, but the LDS religion believes in free agency. As VP Biden said, personal choice for himself did not mean he had the right to force his beliefs on others who may not share them. That is the reasoning I find behind the LDS belief as well, which is mine. I don't feel it is my right to force others to follow the things I personally believe to be right. Nor do I want others to do that to me. I'm with Joe, and I feel you are, too. And choice means choosing to bear a child as well as not to bear one. Many people forget that. Interesting, isn't it?

Defining "life" as living cells inside the mothers body would include things like cancer.

The only definition that works is to consider the fetus to be living only when far enough along to live without mechanical assistance outside the mother's body.
