Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted announced today he'll appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court last week's court ruling that restored full early voting rights for all Ohioans.
Ohio Republicans had tried to pass a law blocking everyone but military personnel from voting 72 hours prior to election day.
However, this ruling still leaves it up to individual counties to decide if they want to implement the 72 hour voting ban.
Ohio State Sen. Nina Turner sounded off on the issue on last night's The Ed Show, including her reaction to a billboard in a predominately African-American neighborhood in Cleveland that warns: "Voter Fraud is a Felony."

It is not the business of the Supreme court to make this decission. They are stalling.
IF these governors are so concerned about their states deficits and spending ; then Why are they using taxpayer dollars to increase the deficits in order to Obstruct the voters rights and , I Must ask , just how much taxpayer dollars are being used to suppress the Legal rights of Americans and Our voting Rights , I for 1 would love to see a tally-up of these expenses that are being taken-away , No , "Stolen" from the taxpayers !?

If voter fraud is a felony, why isn't most of the republican party in Jail, and especially those republican Governors in states like Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, Florida, etc.

This question has been asked before, but it takes on new significance now that Romney has all but clinched the Republican presidential nomination and Stratfor emails accuse Barack Obama's 2008 campaign of stuffing ballot boxes.
The issue arises from the ballot Romney cast for Republican Scott Brown in January 2010 in the special election to replace the late Sen. Ted Kennedy.
The former Massachusetts governor did not own property in the state in 2010 and registered to vote from an address in the unfinished basement of an 8,000 square-foot Belmont mansion owned by his son Tagg.
Last June GOP political consultant Fred Karger filed a complaint with Massachusetts state election officials alleging that Romney voted in several elections without residing in the state.
Karger spoke with members of the Mormon Temple and Meetinghouse in Belmont — where the Romney's attended weekly church services when they lived there — and one told Karger that she "hadn't seen the Romneys since 2008."
The Romneys' former realtor told Krugar that they moved to California and allegedly Ann Romney told him the same when he saw her at a conference in Las Vegas where Romney was speaking.
The Romneys bought a $12.5 million home in La Jolla, Calif., in May 2008 and sold their home in Belmont in April 2009 (for $3.5 million). In May 2009 the Romneys began describing their $10 million estate in New Hampshire as their primary residence (presumably to prepare for the 2012 election).
President Obama has disclosed his 2012 state tax return (from Illinois) whereas Romney has not (from ?).

Residency issues have plagued Mitt Romney in the past. When he campaigned for governor of Massachusetts in 2002, he ran into trouble because he had switched his residency to Utah three years earlier when he moved to Park City to take over the struggling Salt Lake Olympic operation. The move technically made him ineligible to run for office in Massachusetts, which requires seven years of continuous state residency before a candidate is eligible to run. After a lot of legal wrangling and paying back taxes, he was finally allowed on the ballot.
According to Massachusetts law, a residence for voter registration purposes as "where a person dwells and which is the center of his domestic, social, and civil life" and anyone found guilty of committing voter fraud faces up to five years in jail and a $10,000 fine.

Nina Turner is a fighter for Democrats and somebody that should be in Congress or even the Senate. She is the kind of person with the passion and energy to fight for the middle class, minorities, and everything else that needs to get done so we can build the country up. She seems like one those people who will move heaven and earth to achieve her goal once she sets her mind to it. I am thinking that President Obama will prevail in Ohio because he has an excellent ground game in place backed by an excellent organization. Democrats will win Ohio because so much emphasis has been placed on winning. Romney's "Let Detroit go bankrupt" and President Obama's auto loans will resonate with voters in Ohio leading to an Obama second term.

I am sixty - nine years of age and Resident of Chicago, in the Fifties sixties and seventies that type of response was use in Chicago politics known as "The Ropa Dope" When one candidate is left to ramble on and on exposeing incorrect statements and those statements turned into political ads aginst the respondant.
I hope people take notice of who owns the billboard in question. On the top of the billboard is the placard ClearChannel. ClearChannel was acquired by Bain Capital in July of 2008. So basically Bain Cap owns the billboard. My guess is whoever placed that sign on the billboard also has ties to Bain. I have no proof of this but I do know Bain owns that billboard.
I would like to know if there is a way that people not living in Ohio can contact Mr. Husted with their complaints. If so, Please let us know. I will most definitely contact him to voice my opinion.

I helped my 86 year-old mother register to vote for the first time this year. About a month later she received in the mail an application for an absentee ballot, which she immediately took directly to her post office to mail. When she never received her ballot in the mail, she called up Husted's office to find out when to expect it to arrive. The person who she spoke with told her that they had no record of her application, but would send her another. I am proud of her persistence. Most people her age would have just let it go. I live in a different county from her, but if she doesn't get her ballot in the mail, I will probably take her for early voting. She is really determined to vote in this election, but Husted's office is making it hard for her and others that they perceive to be Obama supporters to cast their ballots.

i told them to let all the citizens of Ohio vote, and stop trying to steal this election.
I can't confirm this rumor, so I don't know for sure; but one of my snail-mail contacts wrote to tell me that the Ohio Voting is 5 to 2 in favor of Obama, and 7 to 5 in favor of Sherrod Brown. As I said, IT'S ONLY A RUMOR!!
