Is the pressure of Thursday's debate with Joe Biden getting to Paul Ryan?

On Sunday, a Ryan fundraiser at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Rosemont, Illinois, prominently featured a sign banning audio and video recording.
Ryan's remarks were reportedly routine, so why the sign? Perhaps Ryan was thinking about those secretly recorded video remarks that Romney made at a fundraiser in May, which caught him saying that 47 percent of Americans were "dependent on government" and saw themselves as "victims."
Then on the following morning, Ryan sounded worried about the upcoming debate.
"Because [Obama] had such a bad debate [on Oct. 3], that Joe is just going to come flying at us," Ryan told radio host Frank Beckmann. "It seems pretty clear that their new strategy is just basically to call us liars, to descend down into a mud pit, and hopefully with enough mudslinging back and forth and distortion, people get demoralized and then they can win by default."
And later in the day, Ryan just lost it, abruptly ended an interview with ABC 12 in Flint, Michigan, after an exchange on gun violence in inner cities:
"Does this country have a gun problem?" WJRT's Terry Camp asked.
"This country has a crime problem," Ryan responded. "If you take a look at the gun laws we have, I don't even think President Obama is proposing more gun laws. We have good, strong gun laws. We have to make sure we enforce our laws. We have lots of laws that aren't being properly enforced. We need to make sure we enforce these laws."
Ryan continued: "But the best thing to help prevent violent crime in the inner cities is to bring opportunity in the inner cities, is to help teach people get out of poverty in the inner cities, is to help teach people good discipline, good character. That is civil society. That's what charities, and civic groups, and churches do to help one another make sure that they can realize the value in one another."
"And you can do all that by cutting taxes? With a big tax cut?," Camp asked.
"Those are your words, not mine," Ryan responded.
With that, Ryan's press secretary abruptly declared the interview over and a clearly irritated Ryan began removing his microphone, saying to the interviewer, "That was kind of strange. You're trying to stuff words in people's mouths?"
"Well, I don't know if it's strange," said Camp.
"It sounds like you're trying to put answers to questions..." The camera is then covered by white paper.
Ryan is now in Florida for more debate prep, reviewing Biden’s 2008 debate with Sarah Palin and past Biden speeches.
Vice President Biden is home in Delaware, preparing for Thursday’s debate, holding mock debates with sparring partner Rep. Chris Van Hollen and reviewing video of Ryan’s speeches and interviews.
He’s also reviewing video of Ryan’s speeches and interviews and reading Ryan’s book Young Guns.
Thursday’s 90-minute debate at Centre College, in Danville, Kentucky, will be begin at 9pET. It will be moderated by ABC’s Martha Raddatz and will cover both domestic and foreign policy. The candidates will be seated.
You can watch it live both on MSNBC and here on The Ed Show blog.

All of his policy positions aside, is this the kind of character we want in the guy a heartbeat away?
Considering he'd be next to Romney, it's not much of a heartbeat.
Imagine that arrogant little punk getting into a verbal battle with someone who will dust his clock , cannot wait , Go Mr. VP Biden , dust his broom !
I wonder what they're trying to hide THIS time.
Everything , as per usual ! BTW , Where are willards tax-return forms ?
No not lyin' romney/ryan...two of a kind...
I want to hear Ryan answer how he will handle things if Romney is killed by a Iranian nuclear blast.
Mitt Romney threatened to bomb Iran in this video after he discovered Iran has nuclear technology and long range missiles (click here).
What do we have that would stop Iran from loading up a few old freighters and parking them off the US coastline with nuclear tipped cruse missiles pointed at us if we continue to threaten them?
Iran claimed responsibility for a cruse missile strike on Israel yesterday (click here).
A Republican-backed coup in 1953 replaced the democratically elected government of Iran with a US-backed dictatorship allowing British Petroleum to "steal oil" (click here).
Iran tested a type of long range sea-based cruse missile system in January (click here).
Iran started one nuclear power plant last year and is planning another. Nuclear material could be reprocessed to chemically extract plutonium from Soviet-built nuclear power plants during a brief refueling shut down using a simple but very dangerous process involving large quantities of acid (click here).
Iran went nuclear last year and Romney is causing Iran to accelerate their weapons program by threatening them.
The time to stop Iran from going nuclear was in 2007 when Bush should have lodged a protest with the Soviets to stop them from giving Iran a nuclear power plant.
Romney and Bush proved they both have Alzheimer's just like when Reagan decided it was a good idea to give $4 billion to Osama bin Lauden to fight the Soviet Union (re: Charlie Wilson's War).
Ryan is no different.
Kaboom!!!
Given that it's Romney, instead of heartbeat, shouldn't we be saying one EMP? Or one fried circuit?
Banning, makes me suspect he is going to say things he does not want us to hear. I doubt he has been able to ban ever thing, he has just made someone more determined to do the job of recording what he say. I'm banking on some industrious bus boy working his way through college and needing to pay off student loans to become very creative in planting his gear ahead of the event.
They'll be onto that now since Mitt got recorded last May. They'll probably sweep the whole room and frisk the help! Darn!
I think Paul Ryan has exactly the kind of character we want in a VP. Smart, experienced, disciplined, familiar with the Constitution, caring, knows the budget backwards and forwards, respectful, strong, determined to pass along to our children a country at least as strong and healthy as what we have today.
OMG! Another Ryan/Romney zombie!
Ryan's being disingenuous in claiming that Biden will call him a liar. Biden is considerably better at debating than Obama is.
Instead, Biden can all too easily dare Ryan to prove he's telling the truth. Then, when Ryan is unable to do that, he will have provided confirmatory evidence that he's lying without Biden ever having to say he is.
As to Biden being prone to making gaffes, most of those purported gaffes were constructed by tearing what Biden said out of context, in the same way that most of Obama's purported gaffes were constructed (e.g., "You didn't build that."). Romney, on the other hand, is gaffe-prone in context.
Another advantage that Biden has, is that while Mitt is multiple-choice, Ryan is an extremely confused Catholic whose sense of social justice has been perverted by Ayn Rand's Objectivism, such that it's difficult to tell if his Conservative political philosophy extends beyond being a Social Conservative. Ryan most certainly wasn't a Fiscal Conservative while Bush-43 was President - a trait most of the other Republicans in Congress shared during those 8 years.
Paul Ryan is an arrogant man who is political wise since he has been involved with politics since college but as far as being intelligent when it comes to creating a tax plan, he is not. He does not understand the math. He can deal with the A in A=B but he cannot deal with the B in A=B. He is totally out of his element. I must admit that Paul is good at telling lies like the $716m Medicare lie. Can't wait to see him wiggle out of some of his so called policies at the Debate with Joe Biden. He cannot say that he doesn't have the time to explain the math. You go Joe! We have your back!
You are going to need to have a lot more than his back? By the way djj.....where is Joe these days?
I live in RYAN'S district in WI, went to a listening session a few years back, remember when he was in IOWA and asked the question about Farm Relief and he gaffed off the lady, made the comment that he had to go the fair? Well he has the same attitude at his listening session's. Been there, Heard it. yes djj very Arrogant, not to willing to listen to what People have to say or answer question's.
Are you kidding me Ed with this headline? Ryan getting testy? You have got to be joking.
Joe Biden has been sequestered for over a week getting prepped, schooled, etc...getting ready for this debate.
You guys are so afraid Biden will blow this wide open that you lefties are going nuts. Just because some left wing interviewer throws crap at Ryan and he cuts them off, does not mean he is testy....
Read what dem4romney34 wrote above. Thats the truth.
Ed Schultz talking about Ryan worrying about Biden. I am laughing so hard and I cannot even type this.
At least Ryan does interviews. JOE IS IN HIDING!!!!!!!
Come on lefties....what do you have to say about that? Why is Joe in hiding. One of you Shultz lovers let me know.
Ryan has done over 100 interviews during this campaign. Biden...maybe 1 or 2.
What does that tell you leftie????
It tells me the teabaggers are going with the same 'ol tactic of 'If you tell a lie long enough everyone will believe it'.
@Johnnie,
Ryan is going to get two questions he can't answer.
Here is one of them.
This is a mathematical fantasy created by Ayn Rand after she migrated to the US from the Soviet Union.
Ayn Rand is Ryan's hero.
Hey Ed, one more thing. What about the news that foreign money from possibly China is coming in for Obama's campaign?
Do you think you can mention that on your TV show tonight?...........or even the possiblity....after all, you don't need the facts or the truth to report anything against anyone.
Lets hear what you have to say about this Ed.
Just the mention of the possibility of foreign illegal money coming in for Obama's campaign....wow Ed. Thats big news. Are you going to report that tonight?
You are a joke Ed.
jerky , Oh the Hate - the Hatred ! Desperation is setting in ! tick-tick-tick !
What about that money Bush was forced to borrow from China after he squandered the Social Security trust fund bombing Muslims?
We were screwed once by the republicans, why would we want to be screwed again?
I find the Right's ability to ignore reality, and create their own reality quite amusing. And, when the polls are "in favor" of Obama, their rigged. When they are "in favor of Romney", they must be correct. Just like the unemployment numbers..Over 8%, they are accurate..Under 8%, someone must have rigged the numbers..
What is it about the truth that you on the right have a hard time with?
Agree , and they also cannot face transparency either , they resist everything and are only concerned for themselves and no-one else ! and there sheepish followers just get in-line , closely ! I'd bet that doesn't smell very good , what with all of their noses tucked in so tightly !
Not at all Brad. I don't put a lot of stock in some polls...just like you. If they favor Obama, so be it. It they favor Romney...OK. So what?
I don't remember anyone saying that 8% was the magic number if they were above they are accurate and if they are below, they are not. Who made that statement?
You just have some...(very few) people think that the 3/10 drop when all other numbers were the same was kind of strange. You just has some people think that since that was the biggest month to month drop in 40 years....that was kind of strange....and you had some...(very few) who thought that the fact it happened one month before an election was kind of strange. Other than that...whats the big deal?
Lets talk about things that do matter. Forget unemployment, foreign policy, jobs, the economy, gas prices, the middle class........hmmmmmmmmm....Hey Brad, lets talk about BIG BIRD.
And one more thing, how can you on the Right not have the slightest problem or feeling of shame with your candidate getting up in front of almost 70 million people and for an hour and a half, tell 1 lie after another to the American people? Do you all want to win so badly that you will sell your soul? And lie just to get elected? Does truth, morals, and values mean anything to you? It appears as if it doesn't..None of you seem to care..
Johnny,
How do you debate about the topics you mention, with a guy that lies about his position on all of them? And why doesn't anybody on the Right, or the media for that fact, call it what it is? Position lies to retreat to the middle because his current positions were not in favor with citizens of this Country..
Also the absolute Vagueness of All of their So-Called Plans for America ! Um , well were going to this and were going to do that ? with absolutely No explanations What-So-Ever ! Oh , that's right , they do not have the time to explain these BS things !
Is Mud MD?
Mud-Slide
You sound pretty critical on the issues. YOUR condemning , YOUR accusing and little bit of insulting. So oh great righteous one, Name The Lies on Romney and Ryan. Sound to me your trying convince everybody your in the PERFECT WORLD.
I don't / can't believe these polls. Is it possible that all the women in the country have forgotten about the Right's war on them and their bodies ? Is it possible that they believe all these lies Ryan/ Romney have been telling that have been debunked time and again ? Have the people forgot about voter supression from the Right ? And have they forgot about the dog and pony show that the Republican primary was, and what the other candidates had to say about Romney ? Were they all lieing then, or is it that whay ever they said about him at that time is OK now that he is their leader ? I don't think these polls take into account the Black and Hispanic voters, and I know that at least one old white guy is voting for President Obama.
. And if the president was thinking that, he had good reason to.
Consider, for example, the 38th installment of my weekly series -- easily the longest of 2012 -- chronicling Mitt's mendacity.
1. In reference to the unemployment rate, Romney said, "The reason it's come down this year is primarily due to the fact that more and more people have just stopped looking for work."
That's not true.
2. On Fox News last night, Romney said in reference to the president, "[W]hat I find so offensive about his tax plan is by raising taxes on small business, as he does, he will kill jobs."
In reality, Obama has repeatedly cut taxes on small businesses -- by some counts, 18 times -- and if given a second term, his tax plan would have no effect on 97% of small businesses.
3. Speaking yesterday at the Colorado Conservative Political Action Committee Conference, Romney said, "this sequestration idea ... came out of the White House."
No, it didn't. This sequestration idea emanated from House Republicans.
4. In the same speech, Romney said Obama "spending more and more, borrowing more and more, putting us on a road to Greece."
That's painfully untrue.
5. In Wednesday night's debate, Romney said, "I don't have a $5 trillion tax cut. I don't have a tax cut of a scale that you're talking about."
Independent analysts determined the proposed across-the-board rate cut would cost $5 trillion.
6. Romney said, "I'm not going to reduce the share of taxes paid by high-income people. High-income people are doing just fine in this economy."
That's not true. The wealthy would receive a massive, disproportionate tax break under the Romney plan.
7. Romney said, "[G]asoline prices have doubled under the president."
To blame gas prices on the president's policies is ridiculously untrue.
8. Romney said, "I'm not going to cut education funding. I don't have any plan to cut education funding and grants that go to people going to college."
That's a lie.
9. Romney argued, "Energy is critical, and the president pointed out correctly that production of oil and gas in the U.S. is up. But not due to his policies. In spite of his policies. Mr. President, all of the increase in natural gas and oil has happened on private land, not on government land."
Wrong.
10. On taxes, Romney said, "I do want to reduce the burden being paid by middle-income Americans. And to do that that also means that I cannot reduce the burden paid by high-income Americans."
This is ridiculously untrue (and more than a little incoherent).
11. On taxes, Romney argued, "I will not reduce the share paid by high-income individuals. I -- I know that you and your running mate keep saying that, and I know it's a popular things to say with a lot of people, but it's just not the case."
Yes, it is the case.
12. Romney said, "I will not reduce the taxes paid by high-income Americans."
That's slightly different than the other lie. It's also equally wrong.
13. Romney said, "I will not, under any circumstances, raise taxes on middle-income families." He cited "six studies" to back him up on this.
There's ample evidence that Romney will have no choice but to raise taxes on middle-income families and the six studies don't back him up.
14. Romney said, "I saw a study that came out today that said you're going to raise taxes by 3 to $4,000 on middle-income families."
The study is wrong, and that's not what it said.
15. Romney said on tax rates, "Mr. President, you're absolutely right, which is that with regards to 97 percent of the businesses are not taxed at the 35 percent tax rate, they're taxed at a lower rate. But those businesses that are in the last 3 percent of businesses happen to employ half -- half -- of all of the people who work in small business."
That's a new one. It's also not true.
16. Romney said, "[Y]our plan is to take the tax rate on successful small businesses from 35 percent to 40 percent. The National Federation of Independent Businesses has said that will cost 700,000 jobs."
Oh, please.
17. Romney said, "What things would I cut from spending? Well, first of all, I will eliminate all programs by this test -- if they don't pass it: Is the program so critical it's worth borrowing money from China to pay for it? And if not, I'll get rid of it."
The implication here is that U.S. debt is financed by the Chinese, but this isn't true -- China only holds about 8% of the nation's debt.
18. In reference to how he'd balance the budget, Romney said he'll "get rid of" the Affordable Care Act.
This is incoherent and absurd. "Obamacare" cuts the deficit to the tune of about $109 billion over the next decade. It's simply incoherent to say you'll cut the deficit by eliminating a law, which would in turn increase the deficit. That's like promising to put out a fire by using more kerosene.
19. Romney said, "The president said he'd cut the deficit in half. Unfortunately, he doubled it."
Maybe Romney doesn't know what "double" means. The deficit on Obama's first day was $1.3 trillion. Last year, it was also $1.3 trillion. This year, it's projected to be $1.1 trillion. When he says the president "more than doubled" the deficit, as he has many times, Romney's lying.
20. Romney argued, "The president's put in place as much public debt, almost as much debt held by the public as all prior presidents combined."
He's said this before, but it's not even close to being true.
21. On subsidies, Romney said to the president, "[Y]ou say Exxon and Mobil -- actually, this $2.8 billion goes largely to small companies, to drilling operators and so forth."
Nice try, but no.
22. Romney said to Obama, "[Y[ou put $90 billion -- like 50 years' worth of breaks -- into solar and wind."
That's not quite right, and much of the $90 billion was appropriated by George W. Bush, not Obama.
23. Romney argued to the president, "[Y]ou said you get a deduction for getting a plant overseas. Look, I've been in business for 25 years. I have no idea what you're talking about."
Romney's admitted cluelessness notwithstanding, he's simply wrong to argue the tax deduction doesn't exist. It's real.
24. On entitlements, Romney argued, "[N]either the president nor I are proposing any changes for any current retirees or near retirees, either to Social Security or Medicare. So if you're 60 or around 60 or older, you don't need to listen any further."
That's demonstrably wrong. Under Romney's policy, the cost of prescription drug prices and preventive care for seniors would go up immediately -- for current and future retirees. For that matter, since Romney's plan hastens Medicare's insolvency -- soon -- seniors should listen closely.
25. Defending his Medicare plan, Romney said the idea originated in part with Paul Ryan and Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), "who's a co-author of the bill."
According to Ron Wyden, that's ridiculously untrue.
26. In reference to Dodd-Frank, Romney said, "[I]t designates a number of banks as too big to fail, and they're effectively guaranteed by the federal government. This is the biggest kiss that's been given to New York banks I've ever seen. This is an enormous boon for them.... I wouldn't designate five banks as too big to fail and give them a blank check."
This simply has no basis in fact.
27. In reference to Wall Street reform, Romney said, "It wasn't thought through properly.... [I]t's killing regional and small banks.
No, it's not.
28. In reference to the Affordable Care Act, Romney said, "It cuts $716 billion from Medicare to pay for it. I want to put that money back in Medicare for our seniors."
As I suspect Romney knows -- he'd already endorsed these same cuts earlier in the year -- he's just not telling the truth.
29. In the next breath, Romney says of the health care law, "[I]t puts in place an unelected board that's going to tell people, ultimately, what kind of treatments they can have."
This is getting awfully close to the "death panel" argument, and it's not true.
30. Romney vowed to "sit down with Democratic leaders as well as Republican leaders -- as we did in my state."
That's wildly misleading. In his one term, Romney issued more than 800 vetoes, over 700 of which were overridden, and demonstrated a "relative disinterest in bipartisan collaboration."
31. According to Romney, congressional Republicans unveiled a "bipartisan" health care reform plan in 2010. "It was swept aside."
There was no "bipartisan plan" from GOP lawmakers. Romney just made this up.
32. Asked what he would replace the Affordable Care Act with, Romney's exact words were, "Let, well, actually, actually it's , it's, it's a lengthy description."
That's a lie. Romney's online description of his health care reform plan is just 369 words.
33. Romney said, "Pre-existing conditions are covered under my plan."
I really wish that were true. It's not.
34. Romney, offering "proof" that the president's agenda is "not working," said, "23 million people are out of work."
That's not true. As of the time of the debate, there were 12.5 million Americans unemployed.
35. In reference to public support for green-energy companies, Romney argued, "These businesses, many of them have gone out of business. I think about half of them, of the ones have been invested in, they've gone out of business."
As Romney's own aides later admitted, this is demonstrably false.
36. In a TV campaign ad released this week, Romney said "Obama and the liberals already have ... raised taxes on the middle class."
That's obviously untrue; Obama has repeatedly cut taxes on the middle class. In fact, Romney admitted as much just last week.
37. In the same ad, Romney accused Obama of creating "government-run health care."
As Romney knows -- his own state health care law served as the blueprint for the president's plan -- the Affordable Care Act relies on private insurers, and is not "government-run health care."
38. The same ad claims consumers will be forced to "pay more for your medicine."
Actually, the only change in the cost of medication came for seniors -- and "Obamacare" closes the donut hole to make sure they pay less, not more.
39. The commercial goes on to say the Affordable Care Act "includes a trillion dollars in higher taxes -- even on the middle class."
This is apparently in reference to the individual mandate. And if the claim is true, then Romney's Massachusetts law also includes higher taxes -- even on the middle class.
40. In his weekly podcast, Romney said Obama's vision of international affairs is premised on seeing the United States "as merely one among many nations rather than as an exceptional nation."
Obama is the only president in American history to publicly and explicitly endorse the principle of American exceptionalism.
41. Romney also argued "our moral standing has declined" around the globe.
No, it hasn't. Respect and support for the United States around the world has improved under Obama.
42. Romney went on to say Obama no longer supports "standing with Israel."
Israelis say otherwise.
43. Romney also said the president "refuses to meet with Israel's prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu."
Obama has met with Netanyahu many times.
44. He went on to say, hoping to draw a contrast with the president, "I will never apologize for America."
How is it possible the whole "apology" lie hasn't gone away yet?
45. At a campaign event in Wayne, Pennsylvania, Romney said the president is "planning on cutting our military by about a trillion dollars over the next decade."
No, he's not. Obama is planning to cut defense spending, on the recommendation of the Pentagon and the Joint Chiefs, by about $500 billion over the next decade. There are other cuts looming, but they were crafted by Romney's party and endorsed by his own running mate.
46. At the same event, Romney argued, "[T]he president adds about a trillion dollars a year to the national debt."
It's true that in recent years, about a trillion dollars a year to the national debt, but it's not the president who's doing it.
47. Romney went on to say, "Do you realize that our Navy is smaller in terms of the number of ships than any time since 1917?"
This one again? Romney dropped this lie a while back, but it's apparently made a comeback.
48. Romney also vowed, "I will not raise taxes on middle-income Americans."
There's ample evidence that Romney will raise taxes on the middle class.
49. Romney went on to promise, "I've got a plan. I've got a plan to help free people pursue their dreams and get this economy going. And the good news is this: It'll create 12 million jobs."
Putting aside the pesky detail that Romney doesn't actually have a specific jobs plan, the fact remains that if we do nothing, we're on track to create 12 million new American jobs over the next four years anyway.
50. Romney added, "I want to take that big cloud off of the small business world that's hanging over them. Three-quarters of them say they don't want to hire more people because of this cloud and that cloud is Obamacare."
Romney's referring to a "survey" conducted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce if its members. The claim, however, is a misleading joke -- the Chamber, a pro-Republican lobbying institution heavily invested in helping Romney, put up an unscientific online survey. Treating this as a legitimate poll of businesses is fundamentally dishonest.

DemElizabeth: Thanks for this post. I don't have enough energy to keep track of all of Mitt Romney's disingenuous statements, flip-flops, and lies. The man contorts himself into a pretzel changing his positions like a well oiled weather vane. I never remember hearing how a debater is supposed to argue against a chameleon who changes his words to conform to the audience he wants to impress. Its hard to have a rational discussion with an irrational person.
DemElizabeth-Mind if I cut and paste your post?
I can't speak for DemLiz.
But I will say, for some people, including myself, we want everyone to be able to hear what we say or write; copying it is the idea. Some others, even some running for Pres or VP, don't.
Yes, Chris, I copied from MaddowBlog. The post is from a series written by Steve Benen, I accidentally left his name off, but it is his work, I was just sharing.
Please do spread the word!

hmmm....maybe in the heat of passion....Ryan might mention he being a SS "looter".
or.............maybe a slip of the tongue of his overwhelmingly "desire to break the back of the collectivist philosohy"................
or ascribing to the doctrine of his mentor that he "should reject the morality of altruism"....
yes and that his monetary policy is founded on the "to make money" hold the essence of human morality"
yes we hold dear that corporations are people seems to be an old tape..............by some..........for the new moderates...........
Bush wasted the entire Social Security trust fund bombing the Muslim terrorists that Reagan created to fight communists in Afghanistan during Charlie Wilson's War.
That is why Bush began borrowing money from China in 2005.

He still is. Romney's his pimp.
Ha ha ha, your so good at this.

We are all going to die if this clown gets into the white house.
Do you people actually know what you are talking about? You say lie after lie after lie he stood there and told in the debate. Give me some examples........or are you just repeating what Ed Schultz and Chris Matthews say?
I think the later is true. Name the lies...someone ...real quick. Don't go google Ed Schultz....lets hear them.
Funny, Obama never once called him during the debate. Only the days after when he was reading his teleprompter was he talking about lies. Which lies?
You people listen to Ed Schultz distort the truth, spin, etc. and you believe him. You don't think for yourself.
What lies? Lets hear them. Come on. Fast. Don't google anything or look up Ed Schultz on your computer.
Funny, you people don't respond to anything that has been said here. You just say Romney lies and that is it.
What about Biden being sequestered. What about the big attack ad with Big Bird?
Romney stated he knew nothing about corporations getting tax breaks to ship jobs overseas. He is either an idiot because he knows nothing of our policies or he's LYING. In either case you would have to be an idiot yourself to vote for such a fool. Myself, he's definitely lying. Look at all the jobs Bain sent overseas? And he knew nothing of the tax breaks? Are you ppl really that gullible? DAMN!
Cause that is all Romney does..............lie, lie and lie............why do you keep coming here and monitoring everything we say?
ED is a great voice for America..............apparently you can't handle the truth!

Now are you telling Obama DID NOT SHIP JOBS OVERSEAS WITH GREEN ENERGY BILL, WITH ALL THOSE COMPANIES IN BANKRUPT, OUT OF BUSINESS OR EVEN JUST PLAIN BOUGHT OUT. Next : Tax breaks, surely the IRS just wouldn't allow that, so unless you can prove any misbehave I would Advice to stand down. POLICIES, well Tex or Houston, how the hell did he become Governor if he didn't understand policies let alone become successful business man. You're so worried what's in his pocket, wouldn't be smart and check your own. You sure like those words idiot and fool alot.
Q: How can you tell when Mitt Romney is lying?
A: When his lips are moving.
Crackhead Awards--- Then how can you tell he's telling the truth.
Exactly.
If Romney was lying during the debates. Then why did Obama look like he dropped a load in his draws. Was he sick, NO, maybe ole Romney just caught him in a lie or many lies. How ironic.
Obama was following the rules and being quiet while watching Romney lie.
I presume you believe Obama would have won if he broke the rules and shouted "liar".
Captain Alzheimer's finally managed to ask Romney "did you mean that?" before the debate ended after he realized Romney is Full Of Mitt.
Romney said at least 30 things that can be proven to be untrue.
This is my favorite because it is a 3-way lie that confuses everyone that failed algebra (i.e.: the average voter).
It is mathematically impossible to do all 3 simultaneously.
That is why 100% of economists with a PhD has said Romney is lying shortly after the debate ended.
This reasoning became popular among conservatives that began reading Ayn Rand fantasy novels where actual math does not exist.
Crackhead Awards
No it's not. He can do anything he wants. He's the President of the United States. With a devised road map and the support of the Senate and House. It is Mathematically possible. Will KILL Big Bird for starters, sorry thats not right for me to be that way. MSNBC Economist might believe that it's impossible, but you know Eddies economic puppets will agree to about anything. 25% cooperate tax deduction will bring business from over seas, more employment. Drop your export tariff tax, raise the import tax. , I can go on and on.
Are you not reading the posts? The majority of them outline the many lies Romney told..Are you that much in denial you can't see them? Or read them?
Brad - all they do is say Romney lied the whole time, and and and and and he uh, he...................and, he.............he lied.......and he.............. Well, Obama will beat him next...............cuz, all Romney does is lie............and, uh, and he....." If there was ever indisputable evidence that obama is all show and no go, the world saw it at the debate. Way to go Mitt!!!!!!!
If you call what Ryan said as being testy.
Then what ED and Chris does every night is a full blown mental melt down and they should be tested for rabies
Come on ED is this the best you can do is this the best you can come up with
You and your zombie followers are so desperate you are grasping at straws
No, they're just mocking Lush Limpballs.
Ain't that something....................................Ryan the liar, whining about being called out on his lies! Yep, we will call it like it is.............lies, lies and more lies....
Obama/Biden 2012 FORWARD !
DemElizabeth
-- What was he lying about.
Lyin' Ryan and Mitt For Brains 2012.

Just kidding ;)
Romney plans to start World War III on inauguration day.
Crack, Maybe on Obama on debate #2. I think he'll need get the mess cleaned up first that Obama made. But thanks for declaring Victory for Romney. I thank you and so does Mitt.
Lets hope the next debate moderator doesn't have Alzheimer's.
Crackhead Awards
-- Nothing wrong with fairness!!
Crackhead - you mad because he didn't favor Obama like Chrissy Matthews and the rest of the liberal media would have?
DumLez - whah, whah, whah. What's funny is now all the left can do is say, "Oh yeah, well, Romney lied the whole time, and and and and and he uh, he...................and, he.............he lied.......and he.............. Well, Obama will beat him next...............cuz, all Romney does is lie............and, uh, and he....." If there was ever indisputable evidence that obama is all show and no go, the world saw it at the debate. Way to go Mitt!!!!!!!

This is just a sample of things President Obama has accomplished in 4 short years, more to come!
Vice President Biden here is what I would like to hear from you at the debate:
"Mr. Ryan why haven't you run the numbers?" "Do you mean to tell us that you do not have the courtesy or competence to have the numbers run and ready to share with the American public when you have been prepping for this debate for over a month?
" What .........are you sure those are the numbers?" " Because every-time Mr. Romney has given specifics publicly, your campaign sends out a press release that he misspoke and yet the majority of people do not get the privilege of being informed of the misspeak"
It is the duty and responsibility of the debater to call out the misspeaks and inconsistencies of the opponent, debaters should not tell lies........it is ..........unethical, immoral and not worthy of the position they seek to speak lies.
Obama/Biden 2012 FORWARD !
I know you are scared but lets let Biden think for himself. How about that Liz?
I'd be scared too.
It is impossible for Mitt Romney to lie, he just adopts a new reality from time to time. It's like being a CEO, just fudge the numbers a little and presto, new reality, the stockholders hear what they want to hear, everybody loves you and you get yet another bonus. Eventually it catches up with you but then you just sell off the company assets, fire everybody and walk away with an even a bigger chunk of the pie which you deposit in a Swiss bank account. Sweet reality.
LOL
No Paul it is you that has a very high bar to meet, cause of that great performance by your boss. besides its just crazy Joe right?
LOL, i am betting Joe will not have any gloves on so Paul i be worried as-well seen you have nothing but, yes i will say it Bravo Sierra!
I like to call it the Ryan / Romney ticket just to pi$$ off the Mittster.
I like to call it the Mitt For Brains ticket.
That's what the blond kid said just before Romney cut off his hair.
Ed is right on when he says the GOP's war on women will play a major role in deciding this election. Women's issues will decide this election just like Hispanic voters will also play a huge role. Women have the responsibility for taking care of the medical needs of elderly parents and their children. So when Romney/Ryan talk about repealing the Affordable Care Act and slashing Medicare these are huge personal issues for women. Adult children can stay on their parent's insurance for up to age 26. Women still work harder than most men do in the roles of caregiver. I would have never survived 20 years in the military without a hard working wife at home who did as much or more than I did when away on deployment etc. I think most men in a successful marriage probably under-appreciate how hard women have to work to in the home to take care of children, elderly parents, and other family members in need. Sometimes I think if women quit working as caregivers and outside the home for employers the whole country would just implode.
I think Romney/Ryan and the whole GOP just take women for granted and treat them all like doormats. Women need help, not only from husbands, in the role of caregiver but also from the government. Medicaid is critically important for a women with elderly parents in the nursing home. The Affordable Care Act is important for giving women a sense of security for the health care needs of their children. We need universal health care coverage in this country so that it helps women in caregiver roles. President Obama clearly understands this while Mitt Romney is busy using women as his doormat to wipe his expensive corporate shoes on, just like the rest of the GOP.
The Affordable Care Act is important for giving women a sense of security for the health care needs of their children
Mothers and fathers are responsible for their children's healthcare, not taxpayers. I don't care about their healthcare. I have my financial priorities and other peoples kids aren't on the list.
Do you care about how I pay for my 3 cars, 2 houses and a gawd awfully high maintenance girlfriend??? No??????? I don't blame you!!!!!
And I thought Dickens was fiction.
Ente: Health care is a national security issue. The British passed the 1948 National Health Service because too many recruits in WW II were rejected for military service had bad eyesight, poor teeth, poor backs, and hearing plus other maladies from preventable conditions because so many British children lacked access to a doctor and medical care. The rich and middle class who could afford doctors took a high percentage of the combat losses because of this factor. We need to stop treating women who usually do the bulk of the heavy lifting when it comes to family responsibilities a break with universal health care. Modern women work hard and long at jobs and at home with children. The GOP always talks about how important families are but when it comes time to help real families you do not give a damn about them. So pro-life really should mean pro-Medicare public option for all. People would still pay Medicare premiums only the corporate insurance industry would lose some customers.
Single payer systems are twice as efficient as our for profit medical system. We pay twice as much per capita as any other industrialized country on the face of this earth. These costs are unsustainable at 18% GDP. Germany, the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and other western European countries plus Japan pay around 9% to 10% GDP for health care with universal coverage. The U.S. health care system will improve with the Affordable Care Act in coming years. But someday sooner than later we will pass a Medicare for all public option because when you run out of money you have to stop being foolish. A for profit medical system is about the most expensive and foolish thing this country can keep doing.
Health care is a national security issue.
BS
Indiscriminate breeding is a national security issue. If we didn't have mommies and daddies that breed kids they can't afford we wouldn't need your single payer system now would we?
btw
Who the hell is this "single payer" you guys are always talking about?
The European "single payer" must have gone broke . Millions are rioting all over the continent because they were promised Obama style "free stuff" and they aren't getting it.
Ente: Single payer refers to the government administering the financial aspects of a nation's health care system. It does not mean that the government owns all hospitals or clinics it just means you essentially have Medicare for all. In our country no liberal person is saying the government should own all hospitals and clinics but we are saying we need a Medicare public option for all Americans.
Oh yes by God health care is a national security issue. I have been in combat and I know what I am talking about. You are a complete idiot on this issue. Were you ever in the military because you said that you were allegedly a veteran? Most veterans care deeply about their country. You seem to only care about yourself and the amount of green in your wallet or in your tax shelter account. Health care is a national security issue period because the children of families from the working class and middle classes make up about 99% of all recruits for the military. These recruits need to be healthy so they respond to the physical rigors of military training. We also must have highly educated recruits as well. Children must have access to the health care system for their whole lives and school careers. You can not expect a child to do well in geometry or chemistry class when they have poor teeth, poor eyesight, or suffer some illness or sickness that is not attended to by a nurse and a doctor.
If you do not have well trained healthy recruits our high tech military will be useless high tech junk. Healthy recruits are important for the military. Healthy employees are also important for civilian employers too. China and India will kick our tails in the business world if our workers are not well educated and healthy. This condition can only happen with a Medicare for all public option.
Good evening Ed I been told if Romney should be elected President our Country would be a Dictatorship in 5 years. What do you think?
I don't think it would take that long.
After reading what you people on the left have written. You people are too far gone. Have a good one.
Enjoy November the 6th. I'm done with this mess. I come here to read and get entertained but the people here are just too...........I don't even know the word.
Most of you here are voting for Obama because of his skin color. You care about nothing else. Not a damn thing.
Johnny,
You say 'done with this mess".. Care to elaborate? Voting because of skin color? Wow, that's funny..What because he's half white and half black? What does that have to do with anything..I'm voting for him because of his policies, and accomplishments. None of which you would be honest enough with yourself to admit he has acheived. He has created over 5 million new jobs.. Can you at least admit that? He got Bin Laden. Can you admit that? He passed the Lily Ledbetter Act giving women equal pay. Can you at least admit that? He saved the auto industry and all the secondary businesses that depend on an active auto market. Can you at least admit that? No? I didn't think so..Denial is your best friend, sir..
Johnny - the plain fact is you are WRONG!
President Obama is being judged on the content of his heart and the ability to provide effective leadership!
You are the one judging solely on skin color.......
ability to provide effective leadership!
WHo Obama, leadership. Where, show me.
Demcrates are in panic mode, their leader has failed, but of course ROmney lies, good answer. DemElizabeth, the lists are not getting the point.
"A well governed country is ashamed by its poverty. A poorly governed country is ashamed by its wealth" - Confucius
Johnny - so true. No matter how bad Obama's record is the Libs here will vote for him because he is Black and refuse to vote for Romney because he is a rich, White guy, how racist!
Phony argument. Most Presidents were rich, and all were white. But guys like FDR, Teddy Roosevelt, JFK, etc., demonstrated they cared about ALL the people. I don't begrudge Warren Buffett or Brad Pitt for being rich and white, or even Brad's father-in-law Jon Voight and of course Clint Eastwood for being rich and white either. Perhaps you've noticed that there are other reasons people here don't like Mitt much. If you have noticed, please stop with the misrepresentation. If you haven't, pay closer attention.
The national debt is now over 16 trillion dollars. That is equal to $900,000 an hour since the birth of Christ. Obama won't man up and do the job he was elected and promised to do. Instead he blames Bush, the Republicans, the economic problems in Western Europe, the Tsunami in Japan etc, etc, etc. One in six people in this nation are living in poverty. Unemployment stands at 23 million. A record 46.68 million Americans received food stamps in July. There are more Americans dependent on the federal government than ever before in U.S. history. According to the Survey of Income and Program Participation conducted by the U.S. Census, well over 100 million Americans are enrolled in at least one welfare program run by the federal government. Many are enrolled in more than one. That is about a third of the entire population of the country.
Obama’s we-only-want-to-compassionately-give-the-poor-their-fair-share is BS. Obama’s creators and managers on the left care only about addicting as many Americans as possible to government hand-outs -- thus giving the liberal controllers behind the curtain ultimate power!
Face it; Obama is an incompetent failure who is in way over his head. And you want to give him 4 more years because you refuse to vote for a rich, white guy. How stupid!
I would rather take a chance on a successful businessman than a proven failure!
All of the other talk you people do is just bull. Not saying ever yone is like that but a good number. I can see it plain as day in your writing.
Obama himself could nuke your house and you would still say he is the greatest. You people are just that blind.
You don't even listen to reason. If you think Ed Schultz is the voice of the people, your people are crazy.
Look at our country, look at the last 4 years. And you think Obama is the greatest. He has been the worst. You cannot see his arrogance. He is lost without a teleprompter.
You people are too far gone. What are you all going to do when Obama leaves the white house in January? Are you going to move?
Dem Elizabeth, are you going to move out of the country?
Nobody can discuss anything on this blog. Are you people do is call people names, curse at them, say stupid things.
When anyone on the right asks you anything...anything at all, all you people do is call them names, and do your ha has and lols.
Most of you don't have a lick of sense.
I am not talking to all of you. Some can carry on a conversation. But 75% of the lefties here don't get on to talk...just to call people names and curse.
Enjoy the last 25 or so days.
Yea Just look.................the markets are doing great.............America is out of Iraq............we have a new health care law.............we have the Lilly Ledbetter Act.............we have gained much and the only reason we are not further down the road is republican obstructionists - plain and simple.
President Obama has done an excellent job, not perfect, but he certainly deserves to be reelected! He has earned the job............
You republicans just want some digits to sign legislation to kill all health-care gains, wipe away all protection and allow the markets to crash again!
No Thank You!
OBAMA/BIDEN 2012 FORWARD !
Markets do great all the time. It has NOTHING TO DO WITH OBAMA. There is no new health care law. He has been giving exemptions to all of his friends and cronies. Nothing of substance take effect until 2014. That is why we have to nip it in the bud now.
Obstructionists? Obama had it all the first two years. Did nothing but jam a bad health care law down our throats in the middle of the night on a weekend. Wake up Liz.
Out of Iraq. Come on. We were on the way out way before Obama took office. We are in Afganistan and not going anywhere. Even the far left hates Obama for that. What else do you have Liz.
Let me help you.
High unemployment. 7.8 don't mean a thing. Its still around 8. The same number of people are out of work and millions have quit looking.
More people on foodstamps than ever in our country's history. Millions more since Obama took office.
Lowered respect in the world.
Our country lost its AAA credit rating.
We were hit by terrorists....not a reaction a video. He screwed the pooch on this thing. Just wait until all the facts are out.
He may be getting illegal funds from overseas. Take a look at that one.
He told many lies just to get elected:
I will cut the defecit in half. OOPS
I will close Gitmo. OOPS
I will not have any closed door meetings....transparancy...I promise....OOPS
No lobbyists ever more on Capitol hill.......OOPS.
plus many more. I could list them all night.
Sorry Liz
You know who’s even angrier than the half-black Hawaiian about nonexistent racism in America? Pasty-white liberals on MSNBC.
Last week, Mitt Romney used the word “apartment.” That font of racial understanding, Chris Matthews (who has no black friends, neighbors or employees), revealed on MSNBC that the word “apartment” is racist.
As soon as the racism hunters at MSNBC come up with a final and complete list of racist code words, they should release it to the public. But it needs to be aired on a network with lots of viewers, so they better send it to Fox News.
Ryan is going to abuse Biden. Biden isn't very bright. I hope the Democrats aren't counting on this guy. This 6 day period of practice still isn't going to help him.
This guy paul ryan is the same guy who lied on stage in front of his mother about the plant in WIS. what a piece of scum. You go low life your just like your boss. And to all you romneys GOD forbid he wins in four months we will be at war. Why is it people like me who served dont like WAR ,but TRASH that never served like WAR, is it because you didnt lose o loved one,or have a friend with no arms or legs, you guys make me sick when you talk the tough talk make sure you are ready to put up your BALLS. you vote for him then YOU go defend his policies. Thenwe will see how brave you are.
