Although 114,000 jobs were added in September, manufacturing remains weak. Job numbers are known for their volatility, economists say, and the key is to look for a consistent trend in job growth. NBC's Andrea Mitchell reports.
Unemployment is the lowest it's been since President Obama took office and the conspiracy theorists are going nuts!
Tonight, we'll get the truth on today's huge jobs report from Robert Wolf, former President of UBS Investment Bank, and Democratic Strategist Bob Shrum.
Then, a Republican talking point died a bloody death. Tonight, a requiem for the "8% promise" with Democratic Strategist Chris Kofinis.
A new report says the same company where mine workers attended a Romney rally without pay ALSO made workers donate to his campaign. Alec MacGillis, Senior Editor at The New Republic, has the details.
Mitt Romney is completely changing his tune after he basically called half the country lazy moochers. Karen Finney, MSNBC Political Analyst and Former DNC Communications Director, joins Ed for that.
Early voting is restored in Ohio for all.
And in the Big Finish, actor and former reading rainbow host LeVar Burton is mad at mitt romney for going after big bird. He joins Ed to discuss mitt romney's promise to cut PBS funding and what it means for public television.

No one can win a debate if the only thing you do is telling virtual lies of everything . Obama is a 100% decent and God follower . Period .
God follower?
Douche bag ?
No one cares to hear about your personal hygiene methods.
Mittnocchio has changed his stance so many times who knows what he actually believes or stands for. first against now for teachers. first repeal ObamaCare now agrees with many of its contents. truthfully stated is not representing the 47% now is concerned about the 100%. Sununo calls our POTUS derogatory names (liar, lazy, disengaged, etc)--at no time do the democrats engage in such deplorable name-calling. now he shows clearly how much he likes to fire people by firing Leher and Big Bird! Mittnocchio is worse than a used car salesman who will say and stand for anything in order to obtain his goal (completing what his father didn't). we are a country not a company (rummy's description not mine). does he even have any values?????
I wonder how proud of him his father would be now?
Damn proud!
The Vets and seniors who are part of the 47% that Mitt said were lazy and lived off the government, will not vote for him. He was right. He stood by this taped statement for weeks and etched it back yesterday!!!!
Pants on fire!
More leftwingnut propaganda.

I will say this- a week ago, I was disappointed Obama didn't meet with Netanyahu. Now, after listening to Obama being forced to think and talk on his own, I understand why he chose to go to the View instead. He was smart enough to understand his limitations, and that he would be much better if represented by someone who could speak...
Right rusty like you actually do more then repeat what your american stinkers tell you to repeat.
Hey hope, imitation & coping is the best form of flattery thanks for you support.
Whom- I am wiling to accept your view that Obama was on his game the other night.
President Obama was not "on his game" during the debate. but, it's OK with repubs if Mitt-Flop "win" a debate by LYING.
then repubs dig themselves in further by lying about the unemployment #'s, by saying that they are "fixed", that the "books were cooked". we know the last person who tried to do that was nixon, A REPUB. we also know that the last "president" to "cook the books" was W. bush. he put TWO wars (the iraqi war based on a lie, 4500 troops as collateral damage) and medicare part D ON THE CREDIT CARD.
TO the repub party, it doesn't matter what President Obama does. the only way repubs/baggers will "approve" of him is if he exhibits the repubs definition of "compromise", by giving repubs everything they want, by going COMPLETELY over to their side.
even though this is NOT WHAT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WANT. they know who is responsible for the LYING and OBSTRUCTION, they know who is responsible for the decrease in our credit rating, and they want repubs to start working with the president, THE PRESIDENT WE already have, PRESIDENT OBAMA. repubs want so badly to take back power from this democratic black president, that they can't see the harm they are doing to themselves, to THEIR OWN PARTY. they won't be able to see it until it is TOO LATE, and DESERVEDLY SO. ha ha ha ha ha.
i hope you did notice romney's apparent move to the middle on wednesday night vs. HIS CAMPAIGN.
would you call that LYING?
If you forgive Romney's creative use of "facts", I'll forgive the same with Obama. Facts weren't that important with either. As for shifts, remember back when in the primaries, team Obama painted Romney as left of center in order to get him beat, then they migrated to painting him far right. I see it has worked with some people...
7.8% well now the democrats can wave their flag.
Only took over 3 1/2 years.
And what about the over 40 million people on food stamps.
There are still over 20 million Americans out of work.
Next if not for the oil & gas industry the unemployment rate would still be 9-10%.
And Obummer is doing everything he can to stop that industry.
Now all we're going to hear 8 and 9 times a day is the new numbers. Same cowpie, same Obama hater, same liberal hater, same people/country hater, differant day.
LMAO wa wa wa just can not like Americans catching a break!
well if they didnt lay off the 1 million public employees UI be down to 6.5 and that you like to know is Conservative number.
so once again LOL at you!
Oh look larry74 the poster who claims there is a town that has 3 windmills that run the town and sell electricity back to the power company in a place that dose not exists.
And skypilotshark who has never been right about anything.
you 2 have any proof to back up your claims?
You people expect a recession to be fixed overnight? You sound like a venture capitalist who wants his big piece right now!. This is a world recession and I think we are doing pretty good and in the right direction under Obama.
All he needs to do is open the doors to funding so people like myself can get the money we need to start manufacturing, hence, Jobs Program.
Republicans just cannot bring themselves to allow this to happen. It is unpatriotic for them to keep holding things back with rhetoric and BS. We need thinkers and doer's in power and not obstructionists.
Reagan did it.
Obama can't do it.
The 7.8% unemployment rate is horrible, just ask the over 20 million people out of work.
Ask the over 40 million people on food stamps
Check the country when Bush left office. How many were out of work, the stock market was 100% lower, we were fighting two wars, the automobile companies were tanking as were the banks and Bin Ladin was alive.
Stop drinking tea.
What?
Maybe you should get off the Kool-Aid.
To ho-lee-cow;
Do you even know what a world recession is? We are tied to the world now and when everyone else suffers low wages and unemployment, we will too. We have countries that subsidize their businesses to keep the prices down. They pay their employees ridiculously low wages and keep them in poverty, but they are just happy to have a job and make that chicken scratch to buy a little food and some conveniences. Who lives high on the hog while everyone else suffers? The very people who suck money away from us, all of us in the world get leeched off of by the energy producers, the elected officials, the CEO's who think they are worth millions, and the people in the "greedy boys club". We need a change in the way things work and profits should be spread out more evenly to people who work for a company, especially big corporations. This would change things dramatically, do the math, more money in the hands of the employees and more purchasing, more taxes and all is good again. Who put the value on money and who makes the money? Isn't money simply intrinsically valued?
When Obama promised the nation that if the Republicans would pass his $780B stimulus bill, followed by auto bailout, cash for clunkers, etc (which they did pass in total) that he would be able to keep unemployment under 8%, little were we to know that the promise was for 3 1/2 years later and only when about 20% of the unemployed would quit looking, and another 20% would take extreme under-employed status...
I'm not sure but I think OxyRush is posing on this site as 'Rusty'.
Tod....I don;t expect it to be fixed overnight, but after approximately 1,400 overnights, I would expect there to be a lot more progress than there has been...
just saying...
Hey look it's john the rodes scholar giving us his rodes scholar wisdom.
He posted the Maddow is a "rodes scholar" just one problem, there is not such thing as a "rodes scholar" and he calls me a moron.
I love it how this special ed show liberals expose them self's.
Dude has a Steele's logo yet claims his is in Texas, yea sure.
THE CLAIM: Obama: “Over The Last 30 Months, We’ve Seen 5 Million Jobs In The Private Sector Created.” (President Barack Obama, Presidential Debate, Denver, CO, 10/3/12)
THE FACTS: “That Statistic Tries To Obscure The Fact That The Overall Job Record So Far In This Presidential Term Has Been Negative.” “He claimed 5 million jobs have been created in the private sector in the past 30 months; that statistic tries to obscure the fact that the overall job record so far in this presidential term has been negative.” (Glenn Kessler, “Fact Check: Obama’s Jobs Stat,” The Washington Post’s Fact Checker, 10/3/12)
Tex- thanks. compliment was appreciated.
lol- just read mcc post above. so funny. Do liberals really think the stock market was 100% lower when Bush was President?
Rusty: what do you expect from the libs? They went to government schools...
just saying...
Yeah Strongay53 was educated by his mommy. That's why he doesn't know or believe in math, science, history, statistics or economics like the rest of his party.
Wow...really Sed...you have to resort to homosexual references just because one of your own got called out for being stupid? Don't blame me or anyone else because he doesn't understand basic math...
And also, just so you will know, there are a lot of people across this country that are educated by their mothers through homeschooling and they do exceptionally well on all forms of standardized testing. The public school system has become a complete embarrassment to our country. Just look at your buddy and his belief that the stock market was 100% lower when Bush left office than where it is now...
just saying...
Ha Ha Ha! Were you watching the same debate? Ha Ha Ha!
Your boy can't calculate his own tax plan! He claimed he wasn't cutting taxes by 5 trillion. Take a look at his website dude. Yes he is. Offsets don't mean that you're not cutting taxes. That's a distraction and a lie. Of course I'm not surprised. It took him six years to released an amended summary of two years of his own taxes. Ha Ha Ha!
...and The Dow was at 8,279 when O took office and continued to fall until it hit rock bottom at 6470. The NASDAQ opened at 1520 when O took office and is now around 2950. That about a 92.8 % increase. Almost doubling in both cases.
I'm sorry you can't speak English and like to lie.
just saying....
SED...you must not have ever passed 3rd grade math. According to MC22, the stock market was 100% lower when Obama took office...if that was the case, the stock market would have been at 0.00, and that is not where it was.
Now, I will admit that the stock market has risen by nearly 100% since it bottomed out, but to say that it was 100% lower is factually incorrect.
I am sorry that you have such a hard time understanding these "difficult" math problems...they can be really confusing. From now on, leave the hard work to us grownups while you go play with your building blocks. If you need a tutor, let me know and I will see if my 10 year old son would be willing to help you out.
just saying..
Let me understand this if the amount of actual txes paid before adjusting the code are the same after adjusting the code (revenue neutral) then that is a tax cut. Only in the mind of someone who thinks taxes were 100% lower 4 years ago.
No StrangeGal53 the stock market has doubled since Obama took office. I wont argue your factual inaccuracies or anyone else's.
And thoughtful conservative actually thinks taxes have dropped or been raised? What?
Mittens wants to cut taxes by 20%. Period. However he believes that by requiring Congress to come up with 5 trillion in offsets (which would mean everyone would pay the same taxes anyway) there would be no tax cuts. The problem is he can't come up with the offsets, and a tax cut is a tax cut is a tax cut. Off sets are a separate issue and always have been. Mitt likes to play by separate rules that only apply to him because he's special. But that is the Republican way. Double standards and hypocrisy.
Democrats balance budgets and get surpluses, Republicans don't.
...and difficult math problems? Excuse me it is you and your heroes who cant add up their own tax plans, or balance their own budgets. They've had months to do it and just can't seem to manage. Even given the most advantageous terms possible and allowing a 30 year period it still doesn't balance.
What happened to the Republican brand? They cant add anymore and you guys don't care. You would rather return to the stupidity, failed math and lies of the Bush years. Give me a break. What a joke.
I know this is a difficult topic for someone who does not take deductions. THE TAX CODE is a combination of tax rates and tax expenditures. Gross income is adjusted to what is called adjusted gross and that has a specific tax rate. You cannot separate tax rates from how the adjusted income is prepared. together they constitute the tax code.
He is offering a tax code overhaul that includes changes in rates and the way adjusted gross taxes are calculated. Its like Crystal champagne you can only understand how good it is by drinking. If you were more familiar with the tax code you would understand that the tax rate tables are all on one page but the tax code is 76,306 pages of tax deductions . It will be easy to balance
You considering that a compliment Rusty just shows the amount of low self esteem you must have.
I wonder if the libs really think about Obama using savings from war spending and transferring it to social cause a lie?
Ha Ha Ha Did you just say it would be easy to balance? Ha Ha Ha!
That's rich! You guys have been saying that for decades and yet you just can't do it can you! Ha Ha Ha!
Clinton did it and Obama wants to do it using the Clinton plan! You clowns came in under Bush and blew the balanced budget in 2 seconds flat! Bush claimed the exact same thing Mittens did in his debate too! "I will not lower taxes on the rich!" Ha Ha Ha! You clowns are so gullible and are total and complete liars! Ha Ha Ha!
The most hilarious thing here is that the Republicans in Congress promised THE AMERICAN People that the Bush tax cuts were temporary and would expire but they lied and now will to allow them to expire even though they know they blew the balanced budget and surplus. Mittens wants to come in and cut taxes by an additional 20%.
You guys love failed plans! You claim you will balance the budget but you haven't done so since EISENHOWER! He did it by RAISING TAXES! Ha Ha Ha!
You claim to be a thoughtful Conservative but you are a gullible, fool! Ha Ha Ha!
sidewinder
ha ha ha again you have no clue you don't even get the point of my post. I said nothing about balancing the BUDGET. I said it was possible in fact easy to cut tax rates ( the 15 trillion lie) and still be revenue neutral which is what Romney said he did not promise to balance the deficit just to not add to it. He said he would keep the tax collections revenue neutral by lowering rates and eliminating loop[holes on the wealthy so that they would continue to pay the share they are currently paying. This was done in 1985 by Tip O.neil but the problem was that the next year he put the loopholes back in. My point was that there are 73,000 pages of loopholes it will not be hard to find them. But this time the democrats must be stopped from putting them back like they did the last time. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
You seem to be one of those who is so impressed with what you have to say that you miss the other guys point completely.
ThroatfulConspicuous Ha Ha Ha! Impossible, according to every real economist and independent rating agency, (and it's Mittens' 5 trillion dollar lie)! That is unless you are going to eliminate the big loopholes like the mortgage deduction, the college deduction etc which would raise rates on the middle and lower class! Ha Ha Ha!
You have no clue and as always buy into the big lie just like you did with Bush!
romney-ryan = lie's,lie's,lie's the employment numbers are very good considering this republican congress has obstructed every jobs bill our president has put before them, PRESIDENT OBAMA GETS MY VOTE AGAIN !!!!!
Agreed! If the republicans had not obstructed all of the bills that have come through, the unemployment rate would be much lower and places like Southern Illinois would have flourished much better due to more funding coming through to the colleges and business to expand and create more jobs.
If I had easier access to $$ not from investors, but loans and grants, I could get my business moving much quicker and add many new higher paying, high tech manufacturing jobs in this area. Easier access would be where I could get a loan with a 6-12 month window for beginning repayment so I could have time to buy equipment, hire employees and gear up production.
Tod- didn't the GOP actually pass his stimulus- the one where he promised if they passed it in total, he would be able to keep unemployment under 8%? yeah- thought so. By the way- Southern Illinois? Coal Country? Obama? yeah- thought so. How does the 60% state income tax increase work for you folks?
I understand you are asking for an increase in corporate welfare (or am I mis-reading you rant) to go along with the type given to Solyndra, etc.
To Rusty;
China and India do it and they are kicking our butts in manufacturing! We need a well run program that allows people to get LOANS particularly to invest in their small start-up companies. Yes, SBA loans, but have you ever looked at the paperwork, qualifications and the butts you have to rub just to get them? I have!
When it comes to NEW energy sources and big projects like setting up a thermoelectric plant in a volcano with nearly unlimited energy, the government needs to invest and not just to the oil mongers. Thermoelectric power is available NOW and it is easily feasible. I already have drawings done and have seen others as well. We built the hoover damn a long time ago and I think we have the technology now to easily do projects like this.
As far as tax increases in Illinois, well I am not happy about that and I agree we should throw all the bums in power out, just like I feel with the US congress. TERM LIMITS, no ands, ifs or buts about it. But, tax increases are inevitable if there are not enough living wage jobs being taxed. When a lot of those jobs were shipped overseas by greedy capitalists wanting to make big quick dollars to buy another house in Cancun or another yacht they shipped those tax dollars with them.
So, in a sense, those people who have shipped the jobs overseas for more money in their pockets, SOLD US OUT. They are the treasonous people. Oh, "it's just business", more important than people, the one or the few deserve everything. Hogwash!
Solyndra was a mistake and the CEO's were the ones to do this, the investors like Mitt were behind that. The scientists and engineers just wanted to make the solar cells and I believe Obama listened to the scientists and engineers and the CEO's had it up their sleeves already to walk away filthy rich. Do not know if Obama was directly involved, but this is what I found out through other scientists I know involved.
At the same time, China was investing hundreds of billions to crush anything we jumped into and subsidized all of their businesses so we could not compete because the CEO's and management in the US have to make millions themselves and in China they do not work that way,...yet.
Yes, coal is big here, but how would you like to work in a hole in the ground for 8-10 hours a day as a career? Coal miners here make a living wage and they spend most of it on alcohol, I know many miners myself, big time drinkers and hillbillies who love 4 wheeling and drinking beer and Jack Daniels. Many of them are simple minded people, but they are nice people for the most part.
The stimulus I am talking about is a Jobs infrastructure bill which would re-build and improve our infrastructure for the future. This investment trickles down to all areas. We need a new power structure for more efficient transmission of power, we need better public cross country transit systems, we need a newer natural gas pipeline system that can handle the upgrade to Hydrogen transmission when Hydrogen becomes more easily producible, and we need to lay fiber optic cable to every small town and house in the country. There are many more things I could point out, but we need to be looking at the future and not trying to go back to the past. We need to tie people together in such a way that we can all understand each other and make this world a better place with free, open communications that are not shielded by corrupt governments. Time to think outside the box, grow up and work together to forge a better future for everyone and not just the few at the top.
Tod
you seem to have some knowledge and have had experience raising operating capital from shot term loans. Just a question were you able to easily get bridge financing before the meltdown? If so have you tried to do the same since. If so my real question is what are your local banks telling you about Dodd Frank and their ability to fund your operations. i know what i am being told i wonder if it is the same with you?
By the way I live in a rural area and they are now running natural gas along the streets and people are going to be able to get of propane. Fiber optics are at the edge of town and we should be fully wired by the end of next years. They developers have jobs but no skills available among the many unemployed that used to work at the pencil factory and the radiator factory that closed. The companies have funded along with the state retraining programs at the community college but the classes are empty nobody wants to learn a new trade.
Oh boy here goes tc and his nonsense posts yet tc tries to pass himself off as an economical wiz kid why tc is so smart in trickle down/supply side economics he insists there is no such thing. Notice tc blames Frank Dood for everything yet ignores What created the mess. Poor tc.
Good post. Tod. I'm also in Illinois- Central part. It will take Illinois a fair amount of time to rcover from Gov Blago.
I would absolutely concur with your thoughts on making capital easier for job creators to get. Many would call it trickle down- but get money into enterprises like you are talking about with small business and jobs will be created. Yes- your points about increased regulations are concerning.
Obama most likely wasn't ivolved with Solybdra directly, but it's calledmoney in politics. He had some very powerful money bundlers- key to making his campaign work- and they put pressure on his staff. Very tightly connected with Team Obama, not necessarily President Obama.
I understand your frustrations, but would suggest there is another reality that includes Corporate Leadership out working hard, yes- getting paid well- but working very hard to satisfy the customer- and that drives the economy.
Thanks Rusty, I think about things a lot since my position as a scientist at the University may be eliminated next year. Doing my best to get my business going full throttle.
To Thoughtful Conservative:
Yes, I have tried to get $250k in Loans or some grants since 2006. My credit is good and I have had a stable job since 1998. I have multiple patents and working on another right now and I am going to use the latest one to manufacture some things, do not need to advertise here. Because it has been nearly impossible to get money for me to do it myself without venture capitalists, I have slowly invested my limited hard earned dollars and I am now at a precipice. An infusion of capital could get me going in a big way, but instead I am slowly plugging along since my "daily" job requires a lot of time from me teaching students about how to use what I teach them in the "Real" world and not in theoretical space. I also run research for companies to help them make better brakes for you people flying in planes or F1 cars, high tech.
It is good to hear that they are getting some fiber optic to some rural areas, but they need to get it to the homes, I know many people out in the country areas that CANNOT get good internet and communications services and then become ignorant to what is going on in the world. This requires federal financial input to get the companies working at a faster pace and hire more people to get it done.
I agree that many people do not want to learn something new, that is very sad. I try everyday to get people to learn more, I am working on some young adults in their 20's. Trying hard to get them to understand they need an education and they HAVE to work. They say they are the X generation and are just lazy, what a BS excuse I tell them. We need more training programs and we need to communicate to people in movies and on tv that education and hard work is the only way we are going to dig ourselves out of the mess we are ALL in. Well at least 99% of us. We have to get away from worrying about making quick bucks and focus on long term goals designed to make life better for everyone.
This is achievable, but it may not be easy for those that make huge amounts of money in which some work very little for that money, ie tv stars, movies stars, day traders, politicians, and many CEO's.
There is no reason to have such a large separation of classes as we do now and I beg to say that those with that much money did not pay their employees well enough so they could make that much money or they took a lot of it away from retirement funds.
The stock market needs to go back to when people invested it was for a long time and not a few minutes. There should be a 90% tax on money made by short trading or day traders. Money needs to be invested for at least 90 days or get hit with a 90% tax on your profit. The tax should go down over time invested to the lowest being say 15% if invested for 5 years.
There are so many things we could change and all agree on as logical and ethical human beings.
Ted
I would suggest top yu that day trading is exactly what we need more of. The market functions on liquidity. Day traders keep the market liquid. I doubt if you have looked at it from that perspective most do not. As a economist liquidity or the lack there of is what you are facing in trying to get financed.
the problem with the financial melt down is that it removed liquidity from the world market that is what QE1 and 2 were about. It is still ill liquid due to two things. The cost to local and regional banks of compliance with Dodd Frank and fear of a double dip recession.
Here a local guy had two large call centers located about 30 miles apart. he employed 400 people and had a weekly payroll of around $100,00 per week which was financed in between billing cycles. He had gold plated customers like citi group, wal-mart and target. two weeks after dodd frank hit, his line which he had for 9 years was pulled. He tried to finance out of personal savings but went through them in a very few weeks and he is out of business and 400 people are on food stamps and unemployment.
You might speak to your local government and look into an IRB filing as a possible way to gain capital. A local bank could buy the bonds and get tax free income for their investment pool. I built several apartment complexes using this method. Legal fees are high but if you can pre sell the units you would be up and running. The IRB could be convertible to stock which would then provide equity funding after a few years.

"In bad news for Mitt Romney but excellent news for the American people, the unemployment rate dropped last month to 7.8% - the first time it has been under 8% (also sadly for the Romney campaign, killing a beloved talking point) in nearly four years. The economy added 114,000 jobs in September according to the employer survey, and more importantly, the Household survey found 873,000 more people reported having jobs than last month's estimate (note that the two are different because (a) it takes time for people to report being employed after the time they are added to payrolls, (b) startups and self-employments are part of the household survey, and (c) lots of jobs were unaccounted for before)." Taken from The People's View (thepeoplesview.net)
Why does the Republicans hate the fact that people are getting jobs? Does it take away from their talking points against the President? Hmmm!!!
Yes. The Republicans cannot stand what is happening. The loons were out screaming unemployment would not go below 8% and they did everything in their power to stop anything good from happening. But, the best report happened today and they will kill themselves with pain.
Boehner will definitely cry. He was one of the loons.
always good news to see job numbers improve, but it doesnt do a thing for the millions who are still unemployed does it..
You know the right will call this a conspiracy. Fox news anchors will look stern and tell their faithful that this is some type of black magic and hocus pokus of the liberal media and that we are actually in a state of economic armageddon. All lies of course, but this is what they do best. They might want to listen to their candidate when he said some months ago, "things are getting better, things eventually always get better."
They started at 8:05 AM.
I already said this once:
Mitt won the people that cannot see through the constant changing of positions that he has.
He won the people that have not really followed the race and have seen all of the different Mitt's.
He won the ignorant and under-educated in the politics.
He won the "already" hypnotized by his flashy suit and big money obtained through sucking away money from the blind republicans retirement funds. How could anyone not see through this is beyond me!
In Contrast:
He did not win me or anyone who has followed this race and witnessed the REAL Mitt. The one who will slither like a snake into the Presidents chair if he can.
The President now needs to now expose this and stop that snake.
I just do not understand how these people can sleep at night knowing they are lying to the citizens that elect them.
We deserve the "REAL" truth from both of them and not some run around. There are those of us who can grasp the bigger things and details, come on, show me details and not fluff. Bring in some graphs and numbers.
The employment numbers do not mean much to me until I see 5%. You have to remember that many more jobs are created in urban areas over rural areas, so people like me who live in a lower populated southern section of Illinois do not see any effect right now. In fact, there are more cuts coming along for SIUC and those who love to teach just keep being pushed away from teaching.
We do not all want to move to where the jobs are, some of us want to help our communities grow. So, we should just suffer with lower wages and less jobs because of the consensus wanting to centralize?
The republicans are so hateful they would most likely have issues with God himself.
There is no god.
Barry Sataros banned for death wishing.
8 years of Bush 5.5% unemployment rate, 4 years of odummy over 8%.
Fuuny thing about ed, he said the very same things about the democrats that he now says about the republicans.
He just could not beat Rush in the ratings so he jumped ship, and he still can't beat rush.
Total Moron Alert
Hey the rodes scholar points out his true calling.
Who's are biggest ally again CowSh**? Did you ever figure it out Einstein?
The GOP are all evil, corrupted animals of hate. Their hearts and minds have been eaten away by greed, hatred, selfishness and corruption. They need to read and heed the constitution, read their Bible and live by the teachings of Jesus, instead of just thumping the Bible, trying to convince their low information followers that they are great Evangelical Christians that this nation was founded on, at the same time they have their hand in our pockets stealing from us to line the pockets of their owners. They keep the whip to our backs forcing us into slave labor, for the benefit of their wealthy owners.
Yea sure you bet.
Anything else?
I would like to point out that not every GOP follower is like this, in fact, a majority of them aren't. Pretty much 95% of republicans I know (I live in Alaska) don't really care what happens with either gay marriage or abortion.
Wait, seriously? You think we're actually going to force you guys to become slaves? *facepalm*
we know every "gop" is not like this.
just the ones in washington who make the laws.
Obama knew exactly what he was doing. He was setting Romney up for Round 2 where the audience will be larger and comparisons can be made without the possibility of any acceptable refutation. If he had challenged Romey on every turn of his BS, the debate would still be going on! So he just let Romney rave on!
When Romney was speaking at a Fund Raising Dinner, behind closed doors and in confidence, to those rich folks that had paid thousands of dollars to hear him speak, he told them that he was not concerned with 47% of those Americans who probably wouldn’t vote for him.
Now he avers that he didn’t mean that and that he really cares for 100% of Americans.
My question is: Is he lying now? Or was he lying then?
I would hazard that it is the former! Ergo, whichever the answer is, one way or the other, Romney comes off as a Lier!
Answer: Both.
Interesting seeing as Romney pays virtually no federal income tax either.
Obama 2012, Mitt Romney time is getting very near to leave his politic career, it's like David and Goliath the President David and Romney Goliath, it only took five smooth stones and a sling shot to take Goliath down and Mitt and the republicans are coming down you see they have forgotten the Power Of Prayer.
Romney's a coward. He is a mouse, this is no david and goliath.
Obama: A man of vision, integrity, direction, compassion and sound leadership.
Romney: Lacks integrity, no vision, no substance but his wealth, no compassion and certainly do not have a clue on running the country.
We are Americans Mitt not a corporations he have family's we love , we share, we have dreams this is what make us who we are....Still One Nation Under God:-)
Rasmussen Polls.....
Florida - Romney up by 2 when he was trailing by 5
Virginia - Romney up by 1 when he was trailing by 4
Ohio - Romney down by 1 when he was trailing by 9
MSN polls show obummer up by more than 5 points in all these races.
So who is correct...the left wing media biased nbc or the ramassuen poll who favors neither poll?
I'll take the lather and let the country decide. Not some extremist like ED, Maddow, Matthews, and the rest of the idiotic msnbc media. And for those of you who follow that crap, you're just as much of an idiot!
LOL
Rasmussen really?
LOL
Excuse me Dali, I watch all of the news networks and look at everything then make an inference based on the various sources. They all have some bias because humans have bias. In a previous post I showed how to prove through manipulation that 2 + 2 = 5, so I do not put much stock in polls. The reality will be seen on election day.
Rasmussen- The Fox 'news' of polling.
Go to Real Clear Politics. President Obama is winning in every swing state but 2.
Mitt is a moron! He is the 1% Candidate, and the only other help he has for help in winning The White House, besides The Super Rich, is men and women who hate seeing a black man as President of The United States.
You're pathetic!
The Gop's, ulgy old men needs to go home to their rocking chairs out of the public eye. Haven't they done enough damage for all these decades? Stay out of the public eye Jack Welch. Let the younger people take charge today. You old men are just a hindrance to the American People.
I watched the debate. Mr. Romney did very well. I think the President now has to defend his record. His record is very poor and I think to try a stand up for his record is going to be very hard because he has failed at his main objective which was the economy.
LOL
So MR. GE , Jack Welch is whinning about the numbers on employment. Yes, the same corporate liquidator who also practiced Bainomics in the restructuring era in the 1990s.
Like Mitt, Mr.GE also thought Chinese slaves would create better GE earnings. At a great cost to America while crushing American families and their local economies.
Both of these free trade priests crushed the American Dream with Far East slavery. If FDR was a traitor to his class then these clods are Free Traitors!!!
Thanks Elmo Beck!
I would say:
Attention Americans, let us all BOYCOTT GE! Let us boycott Kitchen Aid and all other companies who don't know how to thank their customers buying their products!
I think Mr. Romney did a great job putting the President on his heels. The fact is that the President has had it very easy from the press. We as Americans need to stand up for America and not for anyone who does not put this country first. This President was given a fair chance and has failed.
steve~~President Obama has NOT failed. The rabid rightwingers have failed to protect and defend the constitution, failed to put America first, failed to earn their pay and benefits, by sitting on their hands and saying NO, failed to maintain our status as the wealthiest, most powerful nation in the world. Just today, they have gone crazy because our un-employment rate dropped below 8%. They are hell bent on forcing failure on our president and our nation as a whole. Romney did NOT put President Obama on his heels, Romney spent the whole 90 minutes just flipping and flopping, killing Big Bird, NPR and Jim Lehrer, and showing 60,000,000 people, that he is just NOT presidential. President Obama did not need to interrupt that performance. Romney was perfect at being non-presidential.
mit romney said, "i like to fire people".
he fired big bird, NPR and jim lehrer.
Dear Steve,
You can't say "We as Americans" but you may say, WE AS SUPER RICH AMERICANS can say anything negative towards Pres Obama. Using "We as Americans" in a context geared negatively against democrats or Pres Obama is a common technique by republicans to manipulate the minds of Independents. It is a LIE to say “We as Americans” by republicans when truth explains that only the super rich benefit from current republican goals which is to amass more millions by any means. Is it self explanatory why All Republican law makers are super rich and greedy? Republican law makers MUST be removed from office. We need to explain these in simple terms to majority of Americans as they simply have a hard time understanding what is going on. This explains the Gallup polls showing Romney close to Obama when it should be almost all Obama. Why can’t the middle class and believe or not some of the poor understand this simple way of defining their party affiliation. Obama should get a landslide!
Mitt won, the president was off his game. Gore was right about how the high altitude though, it can affect you. Mitty was in Denver for a week, Obama had just arrived. One way or another it will be a Blue Christmas for America!
The millions of unemployed and the millions underemployed really do not care what the rate is - they still need a job that they cannot find in OBama's failed economy.
LOL.....Just LOL.
Shall we take that as an admission that the hollow and fake concern the GOP has chanted for a couple years has been total bull@!$%#?
It's the most important thing in the universe when it can be manipulated to make Obama look bad unless it hurts Romney then it's arcane non-sense
Just like how if you're unemployed or aren't doing well in business "...your leaders have failed you-Paul Ryan" which is why you can only blame yourself because you're lazy.
If someone helps you along in personal finance and business through gov't grants it's a lucky break if it's anyone else it's an undeserved handout.
If it's basics like roads, first responders, and bridges gov't focuses our ability to build it's services you pay for but when it's someone else apparently they have no hand in that whether they pay taxes or not
Mitty's like a door-to-door salesman who got his foot in the door, he will say anything to make a sale. He can whistle Dixie or hum the Battle Hymn of the Republic, he is like a political chameleon. What do you expect from a moneychanger?
If I could vote in the upcoming U.S. presidential election, one of the things I would base my decision on who to vote for would be both candidates tax plan. Mitt Romney wants to give everyone a 20% tax cut and eliminate the estate tax. Who does that benefit most? Mitt Romney and his family. President Obama wants to keep the "Bush tax cuts" for everyone who makes under $250,000 and ask the wealthy to contribute a little more. Who does that benefit most? 98% of all the people in the country. So Mitt Romney gets to save mega bucks with his plan and President Obama gets to pay a little more with his. Hmmm
