During last night’s debate, Mitt Romney tried to give a "shout out" to the Cleveland Clinic and completely missed the mark. Romney was probably hoping to score some points with Ohio voters, since he’s trailing in that key swing state.
President Barack Obama mentioned the Clinic first, saying “…at Cleveland Clinic, one of the best health care systems in the world, they actually provide great care cheaper than average.”
In his response, Romney says, “Your example of the Cleveland Clinic is my case in point, along with several others I could describe. This is the private market. These are small -- these are enterprises competing with each other, learning how to do better and better jobs.”
We’ll get to the big picture in a moment, but let’s stop right here briefly. Romney calls the Cleveland Clinic “small,” and then he seems to catch himself. For the record, the Cleveland Clinic gets more than four million patient visits per year. It’s got 2,800 physicians and scientists on staff. It’s not “small.”
Romney refers to the Cleveland Clinic as an enterprise “competing” with other enterprises in a private health market. To Mitt Romney, health care is a business. He thinks the Cleveland Clinic competes with other health care providers.
Romney goes on: “Mayo Clinic is doing it superbly well, Cleveland Clinic, others. But the right answer is not to have the federal government take over health care and start mandating to the providers across America, telling a patient and a doctor what kind of treatment they can have. That’s the wrong way to go. The private market and individual responsibility always work best.”
Here’s why this is an embarrassing blunder: The best, most talented doctors at the Cleveland Clinic, the ones Mitt Romney thinks are so great, totally and completely disagree with this view of health care.
To them, your health is not a business. Health care providers don’t want to compete for your dollar. They want to help you stay well or get well.
Dr. Steven Nissen, the chair of cardiovascular medicine at the Cleveland Clinic, told Cleveland.com, "Driven by these perverse economic incentives, we are doing a lot of procedures to people that they don't need. When medicine became a business, we lost our moral compass." (emphasis mine)
One of the keys to the Cleveland Clinic’s success is that it pays providers a fixed salary so they don’t feel like they have to compete or add treatments to bump up their paychecks. Does Romney agree with that?
The Affordable Care Act creates networks to bring together healthcare providers. It’s similar to the Cleveland Clinic’s process of integrating care. Does Romney agree with that?
Maybe Romney didn’t know that the Cleveland Clinic plays a key role in a scathing new documentary debuting tonight called “Escape Fire”. In it, Dr. Andrew Weil and others explain why the health care system we all grew up with can’t continue to work and may actually be bad for our health, and even deadly. Here’s the trailer:
Mitt Romney praised the Cleveland Clinic, but doesn’t support its money-saving philosophies. It’s an empty compliment. It’s just name-dropping. And he should be embarrassed about petting an institution he’d take apart if he understood it better.

If you call that embarrassing what do you call that performance that oBama turned in last night?
Really except robme didn't show up last night the CEO of Bain showed up and did what dirty stinking republican used car salesmen do best, Lie. That you seem to think strutting around like a peacock spewing lies is a debate just shows like everything else tea bagged republicans believe is wrong, debating is exchanging facts, when you are just spewing the same lies over and over means you are not debating you are just putting on a fake show and anyone who isn't a brain dead republican knows this.
oBama was taken to school last night. Might have been the first time he was in class without being high. He kept his head down taking notes from the master.
oBama can't run on his record, he will not recover from last night. They estimate that 60 million people watched it. This morning they all woke up and said side by side, I will take Romney. He looked like the Executive. He had command of the issues. He was the instructor, oBama was choking, stuttering fool.
Shut up whom! You and your stupid name calling. Obama is a pathological liar and last night he looked like a deer caught in the headlights trying to think of how to comeback against Romney's smackdown of his lies. He looked like the incompetent fool he is! When will you Obama groupies grow up?
Projecting again I see sillyman. I'm surprised they didn't have to haul romney's nose out with a dump truck! I mean, he was hilarious! His tax plan has proven to create a 4.8 TRILLION dollar deficit yet he denies it will by denying he ever said it would cost 5 TRILLION. Classic!
mitt is a proven liar. he flip flop, he talk out of both sides of his mouth he don't even try hiding his lies and don't care if others know he is telling lies. here is a good example of his lies from the debate. he spoke of an incedent with a man coming up to him about being out of work and a woman with a baby speaking about her husband being out of work. the man and the woman said the same thing to them after telling their story to them, ....... been out of work, "can you help us ?" different towns , different sex but the same WORDS. if you listen, it even sound like a lie. i do not trust MITT !
RE:Comment #1.2, (@Texas Scarborough),
While Romney certainly won the debate, he acted like an arrogant bastard who was going to always have the last word, even when Obama was supposed to. He showed disrespect to the Moderator and total disregard for the rules intended to dictate that he who spoke first for a particular segment didn't also speak last.
Of the 58 million viewers, the likelihood that a significant percentage of them didn't notice Romney making the biggest Flip-Flop of his life, from Tea Party Fringe to Moderate, is not that good. Nor was Romney convincing, even if he did believed his own lies last night.
While Obama may have been tired, the altitude difference from Nevada to Denver isn't that much higher. Accumulated fatigue from jet lag would be more likely. At any rate, Obama was back to normal this morning.
Toilet in Texas - you're as clueless as whom!
Weren't you just objecting to name-calling? So I guess you're objecting to...yourself?
There is this conspiracy that the republicans paid the media to say Romney won. He really didn't. I myself was amazed when I turned on to their remarks and suddenly Obama had lost. He gave much more policies. The problem I see is that the media was made because Romney CONTINUALLY LIED and Obama didn't call him on it. Well he did some but the debate was not to correct Romney. That is the medias job and that is what they should have been doing immediately after the debate. Show that ROMNEY LIED. THIS WASN'T THE LIARS CLUB. And Romney is nuts if he thinks the only thing on the tape was about the 47%. He had policies on there that said he would do nothing - for the economy and for Israel. And besides in his fake apology to try to fool his supporters he did not say that 47% are not moochers. He is worried about 100%. How? This is not lying for votes either. He thinks people are on the public dole. They aren't. And I wish the whiny losers would quit whining. They haven't really lost yet they are just working on it. And no we are not going to just forget it. That is what they want. They said to begin with it would only last 2 days. WRong again. This is here til the election. YOu don't call hardworking people moochers depending on the gov which they say all the time and get a pass on it. I believe in Romneys heart since we weren't born lucky like him we are moochers. Well he is a taker not a maker. His dad was the maker.,
Given time to think about it I can see why President Obama did not bother to respond to Mitt's lies. It would have just been what Mitt and the right wanted. A you said I said fight. You could see that with the taxes. It would have been a waste of time. Instead Obama stayed don the facts.
#1 - that 'performance' on Wednesday night was no an embarrassment - it's c,,,alled strategy. He let Robme go on and on, allowing him to show his true self. Obama will be better in the second debate, and by the last debate Obama will only have to say one word ----- CHECKMATE!
Desert Willow
you are so correct, see now he Mitt is out talking and gaining false converdance cause of his lies. but think him and his staff forget that in the second debate the bar will not be set at the minus level it was for him, it will be set at a much higher level.
heck i say we just pump that level up!!!!! all the more pressure he cannot handle, with his current mental stage.
Cleveland Clinic: When medicine became a business, we lost our moral compass."
Healthcare is NOT intended to be a competition like other businesses; it is an interdisciplinary, think tank, of what’s best for the patient!
Mr. Romney had an Academy Award moment! "Great Acting Job"!
He was a "SHAPE SHIFTER"! CHAMELEON EXTRAORDINAIRE!
They were just words from a desperate, pathological liar that was just speaking off the cuff, "Un-Factually" as usual!
Obama should have hammered the many inaccuracies and changes of position Romney had, but he chose not to for whatever reason.
I am not a politician, scholar, or political pundit, but I immediately caught the inconsistent narratives "LIES" spewed by Romney, which were totally and conveniently different from his past speeches and stances!
When losing: STEAL IT! LIE! CHANGE POSITIONS!
Americans Are Not Buying It! (Especially, the 47%)
Romney must have not opened his eyes the whole time he was here in Cleveland. The Cleveland Clinic is the size of a small city, it even has its own police force. Goes to show he really does not know what the hell he is talking about
Another thing that Romney didn't twig to, is that places like the Mayo Clinic or Cleveland Clinic aren't competing with Presbyterian Healthcare or Hospital Corporation of America. There's a significant difference between existing to keep people feeling well and existing to make a profit first.
oBama must have ducked his head all night in Denver.Al Gore guesses it was altitude sickness.
Why did Al Gore come rushing out to the microphones today? Did you ask yourself that today? I did. Then it dawned on me, finally some one looked like a bigger idiot than he did as a Presidential candidate.
Yeah robme does look like a moron and idiot you are so right about that. But then you support that moron what does that make you.
whomi....Call Romney a moron but he beat the pants off your guy last night
whom - it makes Texas a hell of a lot smarter than you!
Texas - as you can see from his posts whom is not very smart, just call names. I know he an annoying little fool but best just to ignore him!
Sully and USunder
Have you been this happy in a while? I haven't. Slept like a baby last night, woke up and went to MittRomney.com and sent the Champ a $250 batch of roses. 1000's across the country did the same.
Whom is just a sad boy tonight, just hope he doesn't do something drastic. Hopefully he will go upstairs and let his mommy hold him real tight. Lot of stress in his life, I mean imagine how heart broken he must be about Big Bird being on the Thanksgiving table... ; )
Texas - my wife is a doctor and like me she despises Obama. Because of Obamacare two doctors in her group have retired early. Her caseload has gone up drastically and next year when Obamacare starts to fully kick in all the remaining doctors in her group are having their salaries cut in half! She has called around the country talking to ex-colleagues and the story is the same with them. We will finish paying for our sons last two years of college then she plans to only work part-time. There is going to be a major meltdown of the healthcare industry if Obama is reelected and Obamacare goes into full force.
So we are heavily invested in seeing Romney win. The liberal fools on this site don't realize the disaster this country is headed for if Obama wins!. Actually I think they would still support the incompetent failure!
Sully,
Sorry to hear about your wife. oBama will reduce the medical profession to a ghost of what it is now. Who ever wins, this country is got some rough water ahead.
If oBama its game over, we haven't seen things that bad in our Country since Jamestown. If Romney and he does what is required life will be different, but we will survive and long term thrive.
BS. Explain in detail how a doctor's 'salary' will be cut when HCR kicks in.
Toilet in Texas - because of the added expense hospitals will incure, less income (21 -27% reduction in Medicare reimbusrements) hospitals are cutting back in every erea. Unfornately doctor's salaries are on the chopping block also. I speak from personal experience but being the liberal fool you are, you will just call me a liar so I am not going to waste my time giving you added details!
LOL the troll are putting on a good performance of typical projection spin.
Rick Santorum won a primary. So did Newt Gingrich. Where are they now?
Chrissy,
So glad you didn't do yourself in yesterday, prayed for you all day.
The 'savings' Obama found when he cut $700+ Billion from Medicare, is like this, they tell the Hospitals and the Doctors we ain't paying, don't have the money. If you know anyone in the medical profession ask them, they know the hammer is going to drop. That is why there will be much more private pay once ObamaCare and the gutting of Medicare is complete.
Going forward the Medical Profession won't attract the best and the brightest, they are going to go places where they can make they can still make a decent living.
Rick Santorum won a primary. So did Newt Gingrich. Where are they now?
there is only ONE thing you get when you put a liar like cap'n mitt into the office of president.... WMD.
joesph - better than the train wreck of an economy we have now under Obama!
Oh Sillyman, think of how much better it would be if your teabaggers hadn't obstructed every bill to get this country back on it's feet again. Better luck in 2016, you'll need it.
Toilet in Texas - I have to post this reatedly to ignorant fools like yourself:
The liberals here repeat the Democrat talking points that the reason the economy is still so bad is because the Republicans are not cooperating with Obama. Remember Obama and the Democrats who held both the houses in 2009 telling the Republicans to "either go along for the ride or go to the back of the bus"? Barney Franks also joked about Republicans suffering from post-bipartisan depression, indicating the Democrats had no intention of working with the Republicans. The liberals in the room thought it was oh-so-funny… then!
You know, sully, no matter how hard republicans try to deny it, the obstruction they've wrought over the last 4 years is unprecedented. A RECORD number of filibusters. Their main (and apparently only) goal was to deny Obama a second term. They actively tried to harm the country causing the S&P downgrade (and it's in the report, can't deny it).
That 7.8% unemployment number must really burn republicans. hehehe
I'd like to share a friend of mine's recounting of the so-called democratic veto-proof majority:
In January of 2009, Senator Kennedy (during a inaugural luncheon for President-elect Barack Obama) had a seizure and went home to Massachusetts to recuperate. Meanwhile, here in MN, Al Franken was our Senator-elect, but Norm Coleman challenged the election results in court.
President Obama had: 57 Democrats, 2 Independents to work with as he took office. That's NOT a filibuster-proof majority (and the Republican obstructionism was gearing up for maximum effect to stall economic recovery).
Fast-forward to Spring of 2009, when Sen. Arlen Specter finally said 'this is ridiculous' and switches his allegiance to the Democratic caucus. The press hailed his move and noted that the Democrats now had a "filibuster-proof" majority (conveniently forgetting that Al Franken and Norm Coleman were still duking it out in the Land of 10,000 Lakes and Ted Kennedy was not in chambers).
A month later, Robert Byrd is admitted to the hospital in failing health, bringing the Senate vote count to 55 Dems/2 Independents.
By the first week in July, Minnesota's newest Senator, Al Franken, is sworn into office (with Senators Byrd and Kennedy still incapacitated by illness), bringing the current vote count to 56 seated Democrats, and 2 Independents (58).
By the third week of July, Robert Byrd was well enough to join his colleagues (59).
And one month later, Senator Kennedy passed away (57), and the vote count remained at 59 Dem+Ind until Paul Kirk was sworn in as Ted Kenney's replacement in September of 2009.
So YES - the Democrats had a 60-seat majority from September 4th through February 4, 2010. That's four months, not two years.
Is that all ya got EDD/ WOW How could Romney fail so badly.? My goodness gracious.
I Think Romney graduated from Slick and Sly U!
Much needed documentary. I think a lot of people have their own personal bad experiences in our health care system, some of them horrific like inaccessible care or inadequate care or even over-treatment. But I don't think they realize that their experiences are part of a larger pattern. And the overall rankings of US health care- super high costs; low life expectancies compared to other countries - are a direct result of the pure market-based system that Romney is now championing. As with deregulation of the financial industry, which laid the ground for the economic crash, health care as purely business is how we got into this mess. It's not how we will get out of it, if indeed we do.
@Gmyfanwy, Agreed. Basic health care should be a right, but far too many people can't afford the doctor visit for preventative health care, so they end up in the ER much worse off, and the people who have insurance get stuck with the bill.
The Healthcare industry should be more concerned about preserving wellness through various means. But that would also require those who are health care consumers to be more concerned about good nutrition and other lifestyle choices that are conducive to good health. Unfortunately, it's far too often more expensive to eat healthy than not, for families living paycheck to paycheck, who aren't eligible for food stamps or WIC. Nor does it help, in families where both parents work, and neither parent wants to take responsibility for cooking dinner, there is no child old enough to make dinner, so they opt for fast food for dinner. Not good! Eating well makes staying well much easier.
Agree. My daughter was transferred to London 3 yrs ago. One of my big concerns was the National Health Service she would be under. She has done great. Never had a problem getting an appointment, or getting into see a doctor quickly ( within a week). This includes the specialists she has been seeing. I also understand that 98% of Mass. LIKE their Ma healthcare plan. I see great things for the Affordable Healthcare Act, not the least of which is being able to get coverage for a pre-existing condition, keeping your children on your family health insurance to age 26, and no lifetime caps for children or adults. btw robme blantantly LIED ( no surprise there) when he talked of " his " healthcare plans. His handlers had to run out to the spin room to TAKE BACK his healthcare statements.
"Mitt Romney is a Big Bird Killer" will be the end of Mitt Romney! Second, to win elections, Republicans must end up sounding like Democrats. Then they go about being Republicans. To win, Romney has to "move to the Center.' And that is what he did and will do until the election day.
Last, if you lower the rich person's tax rate, by 20% and take away deductions, it will probably amount to a wash. Example, if a couple earns $2,000,000 and has deductions of $400,000. They will pay on average 25% of the $1,600,000 or $400,000. Without deductions, they will pay 20% of $2,000,000 or $400,000 a wash. Now a couple who earns $100,000 and takes $30,000 in deductions could pay 20% of $70,000 or $14,000. But if they don't have the deductions, then they could pay 16% of $100,000 or $16,000. That's a $2000 increase for those who are upper middle class.
Moved to the center? After all these months of proudly declaring that he is "severely conservative"?
Moving to the center was the "performance" you saw at the debate. Anyone who has been listening to robme for the last 18 months of his campaign has heard his far right wing policies. We will not be fooled. We have all heard his 47% comment, his lowering taxes on the highest income brackets, and self deporting Latinos. Do he and his " handlers" think we are all brain dead? They will find out come election day! OBAMA / BIDEN
Obama looked terrible last night. He had no teleprompter text to read from. He had no dialog to read that was written by his staff! Every time this president is forced to speak on-the-fly, he says the stupidest things! The libs continue to believe this guy is BRILLIANT! He barely rises to "average" with no teleprompter. Obama got his butt handed to him last night by an intelligent man who is prepared to run the business of this country. Obama had his shot and has had disastrous results with his old European-socialist, anti-free market agenda. It's a system that has failed EVERYWHERE they've tried it! If the lamestream media would pursue the Obama missteps like they do to the conservative candidates, he would suffer terribly. Chris Matthews stated after if MSNBC had moderated the debates the beating Obama took wouldn’t have been allowed to happen. So MSNBC would have covered for Obama like it has been doing for years!
Well said Sullyman!!!
LOL..You Morons, I swear. Take a look at the internet, the papers, whatever. All of Mutts BS lies are all over everywhere. It took less that 24 hrs to asses all of them. Well, you had that much time to revel in anyway...LOL
Toilet in Texas - what I see is the liberal media and websites trying to spin Obama's dismal failure into a succes. You and people like you are so stupid you will believe anything that suits your narrative!
John their just trolls trying to make nickles.
lol only have projection, next they be saying the numbers have been skewed on unemployment. down to 7.8%
LOL at them
John....don't you mean it took less than 24 hours for the liberal media to spin Romney's words into lies....The only person on that stage that was lying was Obama. He couldn't look the camera in the eye...He couldn't look Romney in the eye.....At one point I thought he was going to ask Jim L "aren't you going to defend me?" Just because the liberal media has spun Romney's words into lies....doesn't make it a fact. Obama had his chance to call out Mr. Romney and did not.....why you may ask....because he was either too scared or he knew he would get caught lying defending his position......but that didn't stop him from calling Romney a liar the next day....what a chicken.
Hey PS...hope your having a good day! As far as the unemployment numbers go.....could it be that Obama hasn't been able to mess with the economy that we are seeing some growth? Is it a coincidence that we didn't start creating jobs until Congress tied his hands? Just something to consider.
Only if you're a deluded fool.
More inflammatory language from the Real Chris and nothing of value to add to the discussion.
Pinpoint accuracy. And all you ever add to discussions are fantasies based on ignorance.
And, of course, giving yourself a vote.
If Woolard would have been prez during WWII we would be all be speaking German or Japaneses, Of course now Chinese is what the word is huh...
We built it the Great Wall Mart!
LOL Chris...more of the same...I think you just can't help it. I'm beginning to feel sorry for you.
xxx....Clinton signed the legislation that opened the door for companies to go out of our country....NAFTA....It showed companies that they could use cheap labor to assemble and manufacture. Then they realized that Mexicans wouldn't work for less than 75 cents per hour and that the Chinese would work for 10 cents per hour and moved from Mexico to China.....I personally witnessed this happening back in the 90's. Ross Perot predicted a great sucking sound of our jobs going out of the country and he was correct....Gore debated Ross and pushed NAFTA and Clinton signed it and praised it.....Romney didn't sign NAFTA.
You can't be more wrong TAPPY NAFTA was to put jobs in NORTH AMERICA not China. USA Canada & Mexico. If people have better paying jobs in Mexico that's less of those crossing the border. Of course you may think is better done in China by people chained to machines for pennies on the dollar. Sorry you lose again.
PS unemployment numbers are down to 7.8 time to boo about the jobs...ouch!
xxx....I know what NAFTA's intention was....but it's actual effect was something very different......If your happy with the dismal job growth we are currently having then enjoy....but you will see in the very near future what real job growth is....once Romney's policies takes the governments foot off of our throats.
Romney won one debate. And that's all you're going to have to console yourself with for the next 4 years.
All the news since has been how everything he said at the debate was a lie.
But explain it to yourself differently. That's your usual modus operandi.
The truth is TAP is that outsourcing is Woolard's forte he's the creator of it and well in command, if not his taxes or offshore accounts of which he denies of knowledge of. Time to show those tax returns don't you think to prove where his interest lies. Funny huh how I knew months ago just what Woolard's tact would be,I did tell the Prez too and he is well aware of it too Ha ha ha! Do you wanna hear what Woolard's next tact will be?
Knowledge is power, not just money. Einstein left Germany before Hitler took power...
xxx....Sure I always want to here your thought even if I don't agree with them all the time....
TRC....All the news since has been how everything he said at the debate was a lie.
Like xxx can predict what Romney will do....I predicted the liberal media would just say everything Romney said was a lie. It's the only option they have at this point and I wouldn't expect anything else from them. So keep believing that junk if it makes you feel better about voting for a Socialist.
So I must ask you TAP if you think that Obama is going to turn the USA into a country like China socialist country in 4 more years or if he doesn't win it will be forever a Corportocracry like Romney would with help of the corrupt defunked Tea Party Koch Brothers? TAP I can see you're a guy that proud as can be and love your freedom and I respect that. Yet our President hasn't been given the chance to do the the things to things all the past presidents have because of the tea party and if you look what they have done is nothing but stonewall him. Even in your own party of conservatives have been under the gun of the tea party. So it up to you and your choice over what your vote will be. But to that I may ask you, Ask not what JFK said in a another way but what is true patriotic patriotism.
PS TAP I think their are many like you that may not vote at all. because they think I can't vote for this man or against.... Freedom isn't free yet we all want to be.
xxx....I appreciate your respect...and I also realize you want what is best for us all....I don't question that for one second. I don't think Obama will be able to turn the USA into Russia in 4 years....there will still be plenty of people in power to stop him. However, he will use what power he has to steer us closer and closer to a failed European style country....That's just my humble opinion and we all know what opinions are like.....I guess we will just have to continue to fight for what we think is right....and hope for the best.....
TAP
P.S. The only thing that will keep me from voting is death. Also, I enjoyed your last post and gave it a check.....
Right on time. Whenever patsy has nothing to say, he starts yelling "socialism!"
Liberal papers, eh?

Will Romney's debate lies become the story?
By Jonathan Bernstein
The question for the press over the next few days is increasingly clear: Will the big story be about Mitt Romney’s debate victory — which, in turn, is almost certainly all about style points and Barack Obama’s flat performance? Or will it be about Romney’s repeated failures to stick to the facts?
The story here is that monolithic information flows can be fairly powerful, albeit limited both by basic partisanship and by those who, for other reasons, have already made up their mind. However, for those who might be still deciding, if everything they hear about the debate is positive for Romney, it certainly could affect their vote.
The most likely alternative story the press could wind up telling is pretty simple: Romney failed to tell the truth last night. That’s the story that the Obama campaign is pushing in their instant ad taken from the debate, which hits Romney on his tax plan; it’s the story that many of the liberal blogs are running with today, probably because that’s what wonky bloggers are apt to do anyway.

Romney Lied His Way Through the Debate, Claims NY Times
He "misrepresented the platform on which he and Paul Ryan are actually running"
The main take-home from the presidential debate on Wednesday night was that Romney won handily with an aggressive, alpha-male performance. But this morning a secondary narrative has emerged out of post-debate "factchecks" that accuse Romney of playing fast and loose with the truth.
One of the most Romney-hostile debate postmortems appeared on the NY Times's main editorial page, which accuses Romney of outright lying, "mendacity," "hollowness," and "falsehoods." "Virtually every time Mr. Romney spoke, he misrepresented the platform on which he and Paul Ryan are actually running," claims the Times.

Romney's budget proposal includes tax cuts for the rich, tax hikes for the middle class. I won't go into the details, but that's right. It has been known for months, and many say the effects of the plan would be a campaign-killer if the effects of the plan were well known. So guess what was Romney's reaction was? Nope, nuh-uh. I don't support a $5trn tax cut, no tax hike on the middle class.
So Big Lie No. 1.
Second, Obama said Romney wants to repeal Obamacare but doesn't say what he will replace it with. Romney said his plan will prevent private insurance companies from discriminating on the basis of so-called preexisting conditions, as Obamacare does. That's true except for being entirely false.
Romney has said anyone who already has insurance will enjoy health care protection under his proposal. As for everyone else, his senior adviser toldTalking Points Memo that the Romney replacement plan will actually leave that up to states. In other words, Romney has no plan to protect the sick from discrimination unless they already have insurance, which is already the law.
So Big Lie No. 2.

In debate, Romney fibbed and got away with it
8:15 a.m. EDT, October 5, 2012
The idea behind the failed policy of trickle down is that you give the rich a tax cut and they invest the money wisely and give the rest of us jobs ("Battle is joined over jobs, taxes," Oct. 4). And the economic growth balances the budget. Didn't work well underRonald Reagan or George W. Bush, who both doubled the deficit (not to speak ill of Mr. Bush's wonderful job on the economy). ButMitt Romney in the debate added a novel twist. Under his "plan," the rich get lower tax rates, but pay the same amount in taxes because Mr. Romney will close loopholes. Then they invest the rest of the money in the economy and create jobs. What money? If they pay the same amount, there is no extra money left! But then the whole reform is a waste of breath. If everybody pays the same, why reform at all?
Incredibly, President Barack Obama didn't challenge him on that, or on the debunked $716 billion Medicare "cut" or "there is no deduction for outsourcing jobs in the tax code" or any of these obvious "misstatements," to say it nicely. I am all for positive campaigning, but pointing out when a candidate fibs is necessary for democracy.

Chris...I don't bother reading most of your posts because I can find them myself on just about any liberaly biased site on the web....Let's face it for every post you can find that says Romney is a liar...I can find one that says he is not....
If Obama isn't lying then why was he totally inept in defending his positions? Why couldn't he look at the Camera (US). I don't think it was altitude sickness. I think he has spewed so many lies that he can't keep track of them all and thought it was better to say nothing than to get caught in front of 10's of millions of Americans.
You're getting really predictable.
And as far as "liberally biased site", I guess you would include the New York Times, the Washington Post, and the Baltimore Sun. And then, they don't "say" he's a liar, they demonstrate it with evidence.
But then, any paper that disagrees with you is considered "liberally biased," isn't it? I guess that would include their saying that Romney won the debate.
And, unlike Romney, Obama wasn't there to put on a show and pretend he was for everything he's said he's against for the last year. But, it's time to pander to the Democrats, isn't it?
Chris. I don't need some newspaper writers opinion to make up my mind.....I try as much as possible to do my own research and think for myself. Your so called facts are for the most part nothing more than opinion. Until Obama defends his position and confronts Romney and wins he is going to be the one that looks like the liar. He will be toast if he does this in the remaining debates.....Because unlike you....it does matter to most people that a President can't defend his own positions.
As far as the changing position myth.....the only thing that has changed is that you finally heard his actual plan instead of some news organizations twisted and spun version of it.
TAP I gave you a check also..its what I will reciprocate for what I feel I should do in fairness. Yet as far as you call turning the US into a European style government I must say the Euro has left most of them in trouble because of the difference of trade value and the banks influence, and the latest crash in the markets and has made it even harder for the US recovery to happen. On the other hand Canada has done very well because they didn't have the unregulated banks to have the letdown as what the US has had. Or North Dakota with its Bank of North Dakota (a socialist bank) that has been stable even tough most banks where in trouble throughout the crash of 2007/? Newt said that ND was the best state because of oil but ND didn't need one drop to be safe against it. Check this out if you don't believe me. BTY They just had the first earthquake in the oil patch out there a 3.3 and ND doesn't have a seismic history! Dam what caused this one? Expect more and I'll bet on that.
xxx.....You could be right about everything.......All I know is this.....I wish things were better.....much better. I wish we could all live in peace and harmony and the only thing we argued about was who's fish was bigger.....but the world is a dangerous place.....full of evil deranged individuals who want to do nothing but kill us.....It really makes me sad and angry at the same time. I wish I had all the answers but I don't. I just try to keep my eyes and ears open....and try to think for myself instead of buying whatever the media wants to sell....I have faith in God that he will take care of me and my family as long as I trust him.....
Handshake

TAP I feel you're close to the fence, just don't piss on it! .....Its ELECTRIC!!!!
LOL xxx.....I'm far from the fence.....I just keep an open mind and listen until someone proves that they are not worth listening to.....I value your opinion...even thought we don't agree on some things....

This is a blunder Ed. Come on, Obama said in a statement that Romney's tax plan will reduce the deficit, then retracted that and said increase the deficit. Romney was talking about all businesses that hire people, that actually want a job, no the 47% who are living on my tax per money. I am sick of this crap you broadcast, and you wonder why you are consistently behind Fox, and last night behind even CNN.
Living on your tax dollars? Who? Prisoners? Soldiers? Overly-paid politicians? There is no longer a welfare entitlement, and that wouldn't count anyway; when we still had welfare, over 80% of recipients used aid only until their children began school, then returned (or joined) the workforce, paying taxes, thereby sustaining the program (and ultimately repaying, via their taxes, everything they had received in aid). When we did have AFDC, it used a mere 6% of the federal budget at its highest, back in the 1970s. Contrast that with roughly 50% of the fed budget that goes into maintaining permanent warfare. Some might be "troubled" enough to say we shouldn't help the ill, disabled and dying, but that would be very few. It's worth considering that WE pay for every tax cut given to the rich, and to those corporations that use our money to cover the costs of shipping our jobs out. That has come to several trillion dollars since Reagan.
Liberals, ah feel your pain. Some of the analysis of why the messiah bombed last night has been right on, but may have been too wordy or abstract for denizens of this website. Let a voice from the past put it in language you can understand. When Norm Van Brocklin was coach of the Atlanta Falcons, he had a team which started out well but caved under pressure and missed the playoffs. When asked what happened to his team, he said, “All the bartenders and hookers on Peachtree Street told em how great they were, and they believed it.” So Obama has been surrounded for years by sycophantic white intellectuals and a lapdog media. So between the media and the intellectuals, which are the hookers and which are the bartenders
You dare to mention 'Spychopathes' with Oxyrush, fake news and Glenn Beck in your corner? Are you on drugs?
Toilet in Texas - the fact that you get your info from MSNBC gives you zero rights to critisize others!
The fact that you're a right-wing liar and propagandist gives you zero right to post on this blog.
And learn to spell criticize.
I'm confused about one point. Doesn't the "47%" refer to people whose incomes are too low to owe income taxes? I keep hearing "the 47%" and "the middle class" being used interchangably, but if you're fortunate enough to have a middle class income, doesn't that mean you pay income taxes (and are therefore not the 47% mentioned by Romney)? On a related point, if Romney feels such disdain for those who are paid too little to owe income taxes, does this mean that he favors raising the minimum wage up closer to a living wage (yes, asked sarcastically)?
Class is not just about income it is only one part of the equation. Someone doesn't fall out of the class just because they retire.
If the mitt of romney is so agains the federals and rather the small government or each state takecare of their own problems, why does he wants to be the president?
He wants a statue of himself for all to see...think I am kidding? This guy (romney) is a lunatic...
Ed cites a couple of doctors as glaring examples of Romney's "blunder". When you can produce a few thousand of them, then you may have a point re: the ACA.
I worked with physicians for 12 years, and I didn't meet one who went to med school to earn charity wages.
Greedy Doctors scaming medicare and medicaid for too long. There's your problem.
Toilet in Texas - another stupid post with no proof to back up your lies!
If they only went to school to make the money they shouldn't be doctors.....
After Obama removes $716 Billion from Medicare by paying hospitals and doctors less.....It will only make it harder for these people to find doctors and hospitals that will accept Medicare....it is hard enough now to find one. What good is a service that nobody will accept?
e AARP Made $2.8 Billion By Supporting Obamacare's Cuts to Medicare

As you know if you’ve been reading this blog, Obamacare cuts $716 billion from Medicare in order to pay for its $1.9 trillion expansion of coverage to low-income Americans. It’s one of the reasons why seniors are more opposed to the new health law than any other age group. So why is it that the group that purports to speak for seniors, the American Association of Retired Persons, so strongly supports a law that most seniors oppose? According to an explosive new report from Sen. Jim DeMint (R., S.C.), it’s because those very same Medicare cuts will give the AARP a windfall of $1 billion in insurance profits, and preserve another $1.8 billion that AARP already generates from its business interests.
(DISCLOSURE: I am an outside adviser to the Romney campaign on health-care issues. The opinions contained herein are mine alone, and do not necessarily correspond to those of the campaign.)
Here’s how it works. AARP isn’t your every-day citizens’ advocacy group. The AARP is also one of the largest private health insurers in America. In 2011, the AARP generated $458 million in royalty fees from so-called “Medigap” plans, nearly twice the $266 million the lobby receives in membership dues.

Medigap plans are private insurance plans that seniors buy to cover the things that traditional, government-run Medicare doesn’t, like catastrophic coverage. Medigap plans also help seniors eliminate the co-pays and deductibles that are designed to restrain wasteful Medicare spending.
AARP blocked Medigap reforms, saving the group $1.8 billion
Adding catastrophic coverage to Medicare, while restraining the ability of Medigap plans to waste money, is a key to Medicare reform, one that has been a big part of bipartisan plans in the past. According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, the Medigap reforms that AARP blocked would have saved the average senior as much as $415 in premiums per year.
But the AARP aggressively, and successfully, lobbied to keep Medigap reforms out of Obamacare, because AARP receives a 4.95 percent royalty on every dollar that seniors spend on its Medigap plans. Reform, DeMint estimates, would have cost AARP $1.8 billion over ten years.
Cuts to Medicare Advantage could earn AARP over $1 billion
Not only did AARP succeed in getting Democrats to balk at Medigap reform. Obamacare’s cuts to Medicare Advantage will drive many seniors out of that program, and into traditional government-run Medicare, which will increase the number of people who need Medigap insurance.
That means more royalty profits for the AARP. Reps. Wally Herger (R., Calif.) and Dave Reichert (R., Wash.) estimated that the change “could result in a windfall for AARP that exceeds over $1 billion during the next ten years.”
AARP Medigap plans exempted from Obamacare’s insurance mandates
It gets worse. AARP Medigap plans are exempted from most of Obamacare’s best-known insurance mandates. AARP Medigap plans are exempted from the ban that requires insurers to take all comers, regardless of pre-existing conditions. The plans are exempted from the $500,000 cap on insurance industry executive compensation; top AARP executives currently make more than $1 million. AARP plans are exempt from the premium tax levied on other private insurers. IPAB, Medicare’s rationing board, is explicitly barred from altering Medicare’s cost-sharing provisions, provisions that govern the existence of Medigap plans.
And AARP Medigap plans are allowed to have twice the administrative costs that other private insurers are allowed under Obamacare’s medical loss ratio regulations. This last point is key, because AARP’s 4.95 percent royalty is a significant administrative cost.
Democrats routinely excoriate private insurers for supposedly putting profits above people. “No American should ever spend their golden years at the mercy of insurance companies,” President Obama told the AARP yesterday. But the typical private insurer gets by on a profit margin of about 5 to 6 percent. AARP’s 4.95 percent royalty, on the other hand, doesn’t do anything to make a health plan operate more smoothly: it’s just pure profit for AARP.
Publicly, the AARP poses as an independent, non-partisan organization. But privately, the organization strongly favored Obamacare. “We will try to keep a little space between us,” one senior AARP executive told the White House in November 2009, according to records unearthed by DeMint. “[Our] polling shows we are more influential when we are seen as independent, so we want to reinforce that positioning…The larger issue is how best to serve the cause” of Obamacare.
Kim Strassel at the Wall Street Journal goes through 71 pages of emails uncovered by the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which “show an AARP leadership…that from the start worked to pass Obamacare, before crucial details pertaining to seniors had been addressed.” AARP had “long lambasted cuts in fees to Medicare doctors,” she notes, but the lobby reversed itself for Obamacare, claiming that Obamacare’s provider cuts were just fine.
AARP has a multibillion-dollar ‘conflict of interest’
This week, the AARP hosted a convention in New Orleans, at which President Obama and Paul Ryan spoke about Obamacare and Medicare. When Rep. Ryan spoke to the AARP about the importance of repealing Obamacare, he was booed. Small wonder, given the AARP’s extreme financial interest in the law. According to DeMint, during the Obamacare debate in Congress, the AARP’s phone logs from seniors registered more than 50 to 1 against the law.
Remember these issues the next time someone points out that the AARP supports Obamacare’s Medicare cuts, and opposes the Romney-Ryan plan. The Romney-Ryan plan would dramatically reduce the need for Medigap plans, because it would encourage the formation of comprehensive insurance plans within the Medicare program itself.
Obamacare, on the other hand, saved the AARP from $1.8 billion in Medigap reforms, while potentially earning the group an additional $1 billion in royalties from seniors who are forced out of Medicare Advantage. That’s a swing of $2.8 billion over ten years, all thanks to Obamacare.
“There’s an inherent conflict of interest,” says Marylin Moon, who served as director of AARP’s Public Policy Institute from 1986 to 1989. “A lot of people there are trying to do good, but they’re ending up becoming very dependent on [Medigap royalty] sources of income.”
It’s a testament to AARP’s political power—and our broken health-care system—that the lobby is allowed to carry on a half-billion-a-year business that’s based on increasing the premiums that seniors pay, and draining money from the taxpayers who get billed for wasteful Medicare spending. Sen. DeMint has done a public service by bringing these problems out into the open.

xxx....so are you for the $716 Billion cut or against it?
The truth hurts huh TAP? Why do you want all the hard earned money to go to the insurance companies? Instead of coverage of the people who payed for them?
Can or will you read? or do what you always do like Woolard is answer a question with a question?
$716 billion
In 2011, the CBO determined that the federal health care law would reduce Medicare outlays by $507 billion between 2012 and 2021. In a more recent estimate released this year, the CBO looked at the years 2013 to 2022 and determined the health care law affected Medicare outlays by $716 billion.
So it’s timing that’s making the cuts bigger, not changes to Medicare. And the cuts are from future spending, not the program’s current budget.
Our ruling
Romney said, "on Medicare for current retirees, (Obama) is cutting $716 billion from the program."
That amount -- $716 billion -- refers to Obamacare’s reductions in Medicare spending over 10 years, primarily paid to insurers and hospitals. But the statement gives the impression that the law takes money already allocated to Medicare away from current recipients.
We rate his statement Half True.

Says Paul Ryan's budget relies on the same $700 billion in savings from Medicare that Mitt Romney and other Republicans have been attacking Democrats about.
Stephanie Cutter on Sunday, August 12th, 2012 in an interview on "Face the Nation"
Ryan's plan includes $700 billion in Medicare "cuts," says Stephanie Cutter
"You know, I heard Mitt Romney deride the $700 billion cuts in Medicare that the president achieved through health care reform," Cutter said. "You know what those cuts are? It’s taking subsidies away from insurance companies, taking rebates away from prescription drug company. Is that what Mitt Romney wants to protect? And interestingly enough Paul Ryan protected those cuts in his budget."

If that is true....why didn't Obama nail Romney on it? Is he that incompetent?
No he isn't incompetent....He was scared of the truth.....Cutting payments to health care providers is going to make more and more doctors and hospitals drop medicare patients....again....what good is a program that nobody excepts?
It's not "if" that is true...it is!
And what you seem to be avoiding is that it's part of Ryan's plan! So why criticize Obama?
And by the way, the word you meant was "accepts."
Why criticize Obama? Because he can't defend his policies. If he himself can't defend them then he must be incompetent. If that is the case no wonder he can't get anything negotiated with congress. If you can't make your case what are you going to say???? Pretty please vote for my programs?
BTW....Thanks for the spelling lesson. I will do my best to return the favor.
You really need to learn how to focus. Your initial question was are you for or against the $716 billion being cut or not?
My answer was to show you it's part of the Republicans plan as well.
So...you changed the subject with a deranged attack on Obama not being able to negotiate with a Congress that votes against its own proposals as soon as he agrees with them.
And as far as spelling goes-not necessary. As I'm sure you've noticed.
Chris ....does Romney's plan support a $716 Billion dollar cut? My eyes saw him and my ears heard him say that he would not do that....now if you have already made up your mind and have drunk the cool-aid that everything Romney says is a lie...then I understand your problem.....
I showed the explanation in #15.5. If you don't read it, it's not my fault.
Romney also said he wasn't concerned about 47% of the population. Today he said he did. If you believe everything Romney says, which do you believe?
First...don't believe everything you find on the internet....Unlike you I believe what Romney says....
As far as the 47% thing....I think was taken completely out of context.....
But believe whatever you want....who am I to tell you what to believe???
Still living in that perpetual state of denial, 'eh Tappy?
John I just don't believe whatever the liberal media tells me to believe......What flavor is the cool-aid that you've been drinking?
This is the best thing you can come up with to try and discredit Romney? All of the "lies" he supposedly told and the best story that Ed can come up with is a flub regarding a medical facility? You guys are really getting desperate.
just saying.
2 DAYS AFTER THE "DEBATE IN DENVER". I BELIEVE LOTS OF PEOPLE (ED SCHULTZ, CHRIS MATTHEWS) HAVE GOTTEN CAUGHT UP IN THE MOMENT. I too wanted the President to end this thing with Gov. Romney immediately with a complete and through destruction of the GOP candidate at this debate. HOWEVER, My President is a lot smarter than we give him credit. What I saw on Wed. night was a very, very, smart "chess like" strategic play. PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA listened, took countless notes, and let Mitt Romney articulate more untruths that will come up on later occasions. Romney was drown out into much deeper waters and the safety of the shore is getting further and further out of sight. PRESIDENT OBAMA did the same identical thing to Donald Trump@the Correspondence Dinner , telling jokes and having a good time while at the same time he was hunting down BIN LADEN. THIS PRESIDENT IS A THINKER!!! How soon we forget.
ASQ/Columbus
TAP..... Just wanted to congratulate you True American. See ya later! six
Thank you very much Six.....have a great day my friend...
TAP
Mr. Romney the President is calling you out. How are you going to pay pay for all the things you say your going to pay for? So HOW?
So why didn't he call him out at the debate?
He was laughing too hard inside to answer?
Funny thing was nobody on the left was laughing with him....
It was an inside joke!
Ok xxx....I'll take your word for it....
Why does patsy keep asking us to explain why Obama does what he does? Can he explain why Mitt Romney is such a liar?
Illogical statements lead to illogical answers.
The name is not patsy. I could change your name and be inflammatory but I haven't....so why must you?
I have one question for BOTH candidates.
If intel was that Iran would have a nuke in one month, What would they do?
Or what do you think we should do?
I would tell Iran....."Go ahead make my day"
If you enrich one more ounce of Uranium....all of your nuclear facilities will become giant radioactive craters. Enough is enough. They have made it clear that they want to wipe Israel off the map....we cannot allow that to happen....If they are one month from completion .....that is too close....We might as well strike first.
just one nuke?
i have to say what do you think the Iran top generals think, about using their one nuke? on anyone, knowing it will be responded back not only in kind but by X times.
smiling back in the cold war days right.
the strong bear (ussr) will not go and fight the big whale (usa) in the ocean, and the whale will not come on land.
kind of eye to eye stale mate.
we all know the world is not that easy.
TAP would you warn them of the immanent attack? Or just blast away/invasion
Or Ron Paul/play possum?
Pilot/Somethings gonna blowup!
oh i should add, no not afraid of a nuke as much as muti dirty bombs.
xxx...I would not have any men on the ground and I would not warn them if we was to attack. But I would warn them no more enrichment. Zero.
PS....I agree that we should not only be concerned about a nuke....dirty bombs can be just as destructive and much easier to get into the USA.
I think we should put Snickers bars at the boarder of Iraq on October 31st and when all the people from Iran come to get them, We bagum up and sell them as slaves to China!
Really food for Nukes might work!
Have you ever noticed that in Star Trek there aren't any Middle Eastern types in it?
Of course it in the future!
Okay Khan but he was in stasis from the past!
Deep belly laugh....that was a good one xxx.......
What do you think would happen to this country if we nuked another country without any type of provocation?
That's why Tappy isn't president. And no one who thinks that way ever will be.
I think that's why he likes Republicans so much. All that thoughtless macho bravado crap. Dirty Harry was a movie.
I kinda thought you would.....sad but true...Yet extermination of a race is but one of the stories that Gene Roddenberry put forth. A good man don't you think?
LIVE LONG AND PROSPER! TAP!
Well I think that there are other countries that will attack the the USA without provocation so we must be aware and be ready for that at all times. But to use the words of the Lord Blessed are the peacemakers. Otherwise we will be the enemy in the eyes of the Lord.
Number one....I don't think that they would enrich one more ounce of Uranium once my statement was made.....Therefore...no bombing. I would also insist that weapons inspectors would have access all the time and any breach would be considered a threat to their nuclear facilities......
BTW...I know that I would not make a good president.
TAP You and I think would agree that a nuclear war isn't the answer but how do we avoid it? I think we are destine for it unfortunately. One bomb goes off in the USA and BOOM! One word and off they go! BOOM! Mushroom clouds! OMG We gotta deal with this but HOW?
Prez TAP is up to you now....Uhoh!
If it was Prez TAP it would be Oh $hit.. I don't even want that....I agree with you at the present state we are headed to war....I personally think the only way it is avoidable is to get tough with Iran....I know the sanctions are hurting but they are not working....They continue to enrich Uranium and every second that goes by we are that much closer to millions of people dying maybe those millions will include you and me and or our loved one's.....
I really think the only way is to say......stop the enrichment and allow weapons inspectors....or goodbye nuclear facilities....you have 24 hours to make your decision......God help us all.
Well Ronnie.Hee hee hee Well really cowboy diplomacy! I kid. But what if they already have the nuke/s and just waiting for the USA to pull the trigger? (from China) Well I guess we gotta think what's the important thing they can get out of it? Oil Coal rare earth minerals? I think is deal for OUR stuff in trade for paying off OUR DEBIT is that a GOOD deal?
I'm not sure what your question was....please ask it a different way...Thanks.
All parties have something they all want. China could provide Iran with a nukes tomorrow. Iran has oil/natural gas of which China has just made a deal with for the N/gas maybe oil too?.......Taliban blows up China's Buddha and Afghanistan's the enemy? But China wants to make a deal with Afghanistan for it mineral wealth???? What the Fnck! We have been played for the fool huh? Go figure?
Gotta ROCK! XXX out...

I think that the Obama team was so busy trying not to come off as the angry black man that they allow this man the advantage to think that he has won something but in fact he just put his foot in his mouth again. For every lie that he told the American people will see it. I don't feel Obama lost this debate in fact what I think it did was make Romney seem stupid as he is. He agreeded to everything good the President has done yet he fired off insult to what was wrong yet again not giving his ideal of what he would have done or is planning on doing. I think this man has multiple personality syndrome, how can you tell a lie in 1.2 seconds and stand their and act as if nothing has been said, there is something wrong with him.
hehehe.... I believe he floundered through most of it.. but he did it with STYLE so it LOOKED like he did a great job.. fact checkers stated otherwise.. Call it a mom thing.. but women in this country did NOT like the way Romney wants to voucher out our Children.. so unless you are a silver spooner.. and are wealthy as a child.. you are screwed when it comes to education.. and your health.. Screw that and screw Romney.. I live for my child.
Mary is so right. The Repubs are all about gimme gimme gimme, we don't care about the future of the country or the planet. My grandchildren will have to live in what they create now. Do these people not have children?
Face it Romney wiped the floor with Obama...... hahahahaha.....
Obama was like a empty chair... hahahahaha....
67% Thought so too........ hahahaha....
You usual idiotic statements.
To cosmic: I don't think he even looked tired. If you play one frame over and over of him looking at what he was writing not even. I think he was amazed at the liar running for president standing near him. And I don't know WHY EVERY SINGLE REPUBLICAN ISN'T JUST AS AMAZED. Clinton was impeached for less. Romney has told many many more lies than Clinton ever did. We do not need 2 liars in the WHite HOuse - Romney and Ryan. Remember what was being discussed after the convention - lies. What are we discussing now - lies. Come on republicans wake up. Quit defending a whiny incompetent liar. If he has to lie to win what does that say??? Loud and clear. Quit defending him and definitely don't vote for him.
In the second debate, President Obama should ask Romney questions directly. Everyone knows that Romney does very poorly face-to-face, one-on-one. Ann has already said that she fears for Mitt's Mental Health, should he get the Presidency. A little goading from Obama might give us some insight into Mitt's instability.
I could not have said it better.I think the President several time looked down to suppress a laugh, or responding something like, " you are out of your frigging mind, that is not what you said yesterday", but controlled himself..
I watched it the first time in amazement listening to the words e.g. Romney lies
The second time to watch the facial expressions and body language. Anybody who said Romney won was clueless.
Time and again I've said that Romney doesn't have a clue what goes on. He knows nothing about anything but his church and his money. This guy is running solely on ego. I for one am very tired of middle aged men who have never gotten beyond their own egos.
I don't believe that there was a winner...or a loser. But wasn't a draw. It was deadly boring watching Mitt lie and Obama not smack him up the side of the head for denying things he has said over and over on the stump.
