Hi, MD !!
peersen is an Italian guy (or Lesbian? <giggle>)......haven't asked him why the Scandinavian name. <s> BTW, hi, peersen!!
For the first few months that I was on the blog, I thought you were a girl with *big* attitude. xxx too.
It's really sad that Willard has not followed in his Father's foot steps in *many ways* that pertain to Character. Willard has made it this far because he represents the type of leader the r/tp base wants.....a spineless puppet with all the strings attached.....no core....."just sign the damn piece of paper, Romney or you're going to pay!"
What the hell.....Willard and his whole damned family.....except for $$$$ which is not at the very top of my Values list.....doesn't give a sh!t. Holding the deck with *so many* bad ideas to get into the WH ain't no thang in Romney World. The race card is no different and played even though the selection of a POTUS is *not a game*.
Thanks MD/MI (133.7),
and yeah, I'm an Italian-American frum N.Y.C., as virtual Veep candidate Kathe frum Tacoma has indicated. ...AND A GUY (straight), who wants EVERYONE to B able 2 live their lives in whatever way their gender identification calls 2 them, without fear of repo party, pseudo-christian tolerance AND have the same access to the legal and financial rights everyone else has !!!
Kathe, #133.8, it's lines like "a spineless puppet with all the strings attached..." along with YOUR BAD ASS,SEXY ATTITUDE, as seen in that same post, that caused me to nominate YOU for the virtual VEEP candidacy several weeks ago.
I would LUV 2 C U kick Michelle Bachmann, Sarah Palin, Jan Brewer and Queen Mary's ASSES --- either one after the other OR all at once. I bet U could do it. AND WE'D PAY 2 C it, tee hee heee -- a lib fundraiser for REAL dems and Green Party candidates !!!

Females tend to rely on their intelligence. THEY AREN'T AS LAZY AS MALES, who rely too often on their physical threats, and thus, don't develop their intellectual prowess.
I interpret your impression as an indication that our collective notions of "gender" R way more nuanced than repo party morons and THEIR holier than thou biblical "scholars," and neo-con "scientists" at that Noah's Ark Religious Theme park in KY would have us all believe.
I would have been MORE troubled if NO ONE EVER THOUGHT I could have been a "female" poster here. So, I guess I'm doing SOMETHING
rightcorrect !!!I'll keep this Avatar as L O N G as I can unless it gets to long.....Thanks I like people with a sense of humor.
Week Two of the PolitiFact Truthfulness Games: President Obama leads Romnocchio by 44 points.
Total score is now Obama 36/Romnocchio NEGATIVE 8. A really good showing for Mitt all-in-all, since last week he was…NEGATIVE NINE 9. Eight more weeks like this and he will be a ZERO.
Breaking news: Mitt Romney told the truth once last week: ”In 2008, candidate Barack Obama attached John McCain for proposing cuts to Medicare.”
Three points for the Mitten ’cause that is the T.R.U.T.H., according to PoliticFact. Of course, Romney thought he was attacking President Obama, but it sounds more like a compliment to me.

what does 8 more weeks have to do with it - Willard is CURRENTLY a "zero". "Below zero" doesn't really matter - he's a cold fish anyway.

Whenever someone has pointed out the obvious fact that Rick Santorum and Newt
Gingrich have engaged in open race baiting, or that certain policies negatively
impact the black community in disproportionate ways (criminal justice), someone
else has complained that the proverbial "Race Card" has been played. Like
Drill, Baby, Drill, No New Taxes, Politics of Envy, Capitalism on Trial, blah,
blah, blah, the Race Card is a bumper-sticker bromide designed to deflect the
argument from its substance. In spite of my view that most republicans and
conservatives are not racist, I find laughably absurd the umbrage taken by
conservatives whenever demonstrations of race-baiting, racial resentment and
racism are pointed out and discussed. The fact that such incidents have
occurred and continue to occur cannot be disputed, nor can one argue that such
incidents are rare. In fact, the one thing that we have learned is that not
even the office of President of the United States is insulated from the blatant
ignorance of those who harbor racially-based animosity toward its office holder
and those who are willing to exploit that animosity for political gain. Those
who complain about the Race Card do so in willful nescience of the history and
legacy of the Southern Strategy. They also fastidiously avoid connecting the
many dots that are the incidents that have occurred since President Obama began
running for the office. If conservatives and republicans want to stop hearing
about racism within their ranks, then they should be working within their ranks
to minimize acts like the few listed below:
President Obama eating what looks to be a piece of fried chicken with a caption
that read “Miscegenation is a crime against American values”.
Representative Jean Schmidt told a “birther” that she agrees with her, calling

wagged her finger in the face of President Obama, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer

both parties intimated that the President was characteristically calm.
These are incidents that have occurred just over the last three or four
years, totally ignoring the near half-century of cynical race-baiting that
anyone with a marginally functioning brain knows has been going on. Thus, I
believe that conservatives who complain about the Race Card are doing little but
attempting to obfuscate, deflect and obscure attention away from the obvious
fact that if republicans truly want to move past race, they are the ones who
have work to do - in their own house
That is a fact TMom, and I forget what I was watching last night, they were discussing this and they said that is their intent to get the left to talk about racism because it makes the independents mad and will make it more likely for them to vote for Romney because of it! Actually I think it was Up with Chris Hayes on Sunday.
That's nothing but BS. Matthews started that crap, because he has nothing to bring to the table for Obama. Nute made him look like a fool. January 7, of this year at a Washington Fundraiser, Obama subtly played the race card, suggesting that Republican presidential candidates would deny people opportunity based on the color of their skin.
The phrase "no matter what you look like" is a clear reference to race. Obama is indicating that if he loses the election, opportunity for those who are a certain color or ethnicity will be denied. He completes the thought by pointing to the debates in New Hampshire, associating the Republican candidates with the possibility of racial or ethnic discrimination.
Nice cut and paste from a teabagger blogger. Whats wrong? Can't entertain an original thought in that racist head of yours? Ever figured out how our Gov works yet?
LOL good one John. These people are pathetic. The sad part is they will vote with hate in their heart and ruin us.
It's interesting how Romney has homes in MA, UT, NH, CA but none in MICHIGAN, but he is all about Michigan. He was so concerned about Michigan in 2010 that he allowed his childhood home fall to disarray and since be razzed.
THIS IS ROMNEY FOR MICHIGAN:
Wanted to get rid of all those skeletons in his closet. His past haunts him.
Night all.
good night TM
I think the Race Card will be at the bottom of the deck when this happens.

Why don't you get angry at the (R)'s in Congess that will not allow any jobs bill to pass?
DawnCT.....Are you referring to my comment #139?
Yes, I didn't click on your link though, I just assumed it was a knock on Obama about the economy crashing.
Dawn - He Is One Of Them - Don't Bother !!!!!!! He Pretends To Be On The Left Side --- Then Turns Around And Spews All Of The Wrong-Wing CRAP - Do NOT Allow Him To Suck You IN - I Myself Have Attempted With Him -- But It IS A Total Waste Of Time -!!!!!!!!! Take My Word Sister - Don't Bother !!!!!!!
Now it wasn't Dawn.....It wasn't against Obama or any one politician. I know how some people will take the video. At the end it talks a little about religion, but there is something to learn from this video and that is the only reason I put it on here for all of us to learn something that will be our future and it starts back before the Great Depression. The video is only 39 minutes long, but is very informative. It doesn't even include George Bush or Obama. It's not a new video. We all have a stake in the future of this country and this video is something we all must face.
DAWN ----- Don't Bother Yourself !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't Waste Your Time ....... Believe ME !!!!!!!
Dawn....if you want to listen to MD, then that is your choice. If you want to take it upon yourself and think for yourself then do whatever you want.
I won't that was all I intended to say. MD do you watch current tv at all? OMG Newt is lying through his teeth in a speach saying he thinks that the "(D)'s lie better than the (R)'s tell the truth and they are so startled by their dishonesty that they are tongue tied" WOW! does he have that backwards.
Six, I most certainly think for myself all the time. I only started watching any of this stuff about 6 months ago and guess what, it backed up everything I knew already it just gave me facts to back myself up with in conversations. And just for the record, their are plenty of things that Obama has done that I don't agree with. That doesn't take away what he has done, or what more he would have done with some cooperation. Nor does it change the fact that the (R) party is not even an option with their plan.
Dawn....When I responded to you, I only read the first part of MD's comment as that was the only thing that was on the screen. Let me tell you, I don't pretend to be on the left side. MD has the idea, if you don't agree with him then you're the enemy and I'm sure you will see me as the enemy in the future, but this is not one of those times.
Well, no one can say I didn't try.
Dawn - Yes -- I Have Heard GoonGrinch's CRAP ----- TOOOOO Many Times -- Just Look At His De-meaner and His Snide Smirk - He Knows That He Just Flinging BS - And He Is Proud Of It - And He As ALL Of The Goofballs Actually Think That They Are Pulling the WOOL Over The American People's Eye's --- Go Figure --- hey -- TYPICAL gop-neo-Con - NAZI ----------------- IMO ...................
Watch Your Back ---------- Know What-I-Mean .................................
OH and BTW --- 3+3 Is The Very Same as These GOMERS ----- hey .......................
Perhaps I will watch it later then. I already knew what is killing this country. Rich people sending jobs overseas so they can make a better profit because they are greedy. I don't hate wealth I do however DETEST greed. No one needs a billion dollars if it means that jobs are lost in this country or people are paid less than they should be, and get no benefits, like our grandparents got. They want to make it the way it was before there were unions. When workers had no rights and they paid them unlivable wages and no benefits. I'm sick of right wingers acting like they don't know this, and if they don't they are blind when you post comments telling them. You don't think the (R)'s in Congress have caused this mess we are in? If you don't you must be blind or you just don't want to see the truth! I can type till my fingers fall off with facts, but if you don't want to see the truth that won't matter.
MD: 3+3?
well goodnight everyone, till tomorrow.
Minnesota Supreme Court rejects challenge to Voter ID; throws out Ritchie's rewritten titles

Justice Paul Anderson speaking about the politics involved on both sides in the lawsuits under ajudication to Solicitor General Alan Gilbert as the MN Supreme Court heard oral arguments challenging titles on constitutional amendmendments on Tuesday morning July 31, 2012. (Pioneer Press: John Doman)
In a victory for Republican lawmakers and allied groups, the Minnesota Supreme Court has ruled that two constitutional amendments will be presented to voters in November in the form the GOP-majority Legislature intended.
In two 4-2 rulings issued Monday, Aug. 27, the court dismissed a challenge to the wording of the proposed Voter ID question and also rejected Democratic Secretary of State Mark Ritchie's attempts to rewrite the titles of both the Voter ID and marriage amendment questions.
"This is a big day for the people of Minnesota," said Sen. Warren Limmer, R-Maple Grove, a key marriage amendment proponent who opposed Ritchie's intervention.
The League of Women Voters and others had argued the Voter ID question should
Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie
be removed from the ballot because it did not fairly describe what the amendment would do.
The court declined to grant that "unprecedented relief" because, according to a majority of justices, whatever shortcomings the wording might have did not constitute a "palpable evasion" of the requirement that constitutional amendments be submitted to a popular vote.
"The 'essential purpose' of the proposed amendment at issue in this case is the requirement that voters provide photographic identification in order to vote. That 'essential purpose' is communicated in the ballot question," the court wrote.
As for the titles -- one-line descriptions meant to go above each of the questions on the ballot -- the court resolved an apparent contradiction
between the constitution, which gives the Legislature the authority to present constitutional amendments to voters, and state law, which directs the Secretary of State to provide titles, in the Legislature's favor.
"We conclude that when the Legislature has included a title for a ballot question in the bill proposing a constitutional amendment, the 'appropriate title' the Secretary of State must provide for that ballot question is the title designated by the Legislature," the court wrote. Ritchie "exceeded his authority" by substituting titles of his own for the ones passed by the Legislature, it said.
Justices Alan Page and Paul Anderson issued strongly worded dissents in both cases.
The language of the Voter ID question "deliberately and materially misstates the language of the proposed amendment," wrote Page. He called it "a classic bait and switch."
In a 65-page dissent, Anderson called the question "inaccurate, misleading and deceptive" and said it "deprives Minnesotans of their constitutional right to knowingly consent to a constitutional amendment that will, if approved, 'alter, modify or reform' their government."
Both justices said the text of the amendments themselves -- not questions written by lawmakers
MN Supreme Court opinion on constitutional amendment titles
to summarize the amendments for voters -- should be placed on the ballot.
William Pentelovitch, attorney for League of Women Voters Minnesota and other plaintiffs, said Monday the dissenters' position that the constitution requires voters to be presented with the text of constitutional amendments is a possible avenue for further legal action, though he said he hadn't spoken with his clients about it. "The door is open," Pentelovitch said. "Any citizen of Minnesota could pursue that issue."
On the title issue, Page said the majority opinion leaves no check on the Legislature's ability to label questions any way it wants. "Under the court's view a majority of the Legislature could propose a constitutional amendment to, say, reinstate prohibition, propose the ballot title 'Eliminating the Personal Income Tax," the Secretary of State would be obliged to put the Legislature's title on the ballot, and under the standard the court announces today, this court could do nothing to prevent it," Page wrote.
In Anderson's view, "the Secretary of State has performed the duty imposed upon him by the Legislature," and Ritchie's titles should be used on the November ballot.
Page was elected to his seat; Paul Anderson was appointed by former Republican Gov. Arne Carlson. The four justices in the majority -- Chief Justice Lorie Gildea, G. Barry Anderson, Christopher Dietzen and David Stras -- were all appointed by former Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty.
Justice Helen Meyer, who was appointed by former Independence Party Gov. Jesse Ventura, retired earlier this month and did not participate in the cases. DFL Gov. Mark Dayton's first appointee, Wilhelmina Wright, has yet to start.
Elections officials had told the court they needed a decision by Monday in order to have enough time to print ballots.
Supporters of the proposed constitutional amendments -- one of which would require voters to show a photo ID at the polls and the other of which would add a definition of marriage as an opposite-sex union -- celebrated the rulings Monday and criticized Ritchie for what they said was intervention designed to sink the amendments.
"Secretary Ritchie's attempt to rewrite the law to affect the outcome of a vote has been rightly stopped. He is supposed to be an impartial administrator of our elections. The restraint imposed on him by the court shows that he cannot put his own partisan feelings aside and fulfill his role objectively," said House Speaker Kurt Zellers, R-Maple Grove, in a statement.
Senate Majority Leader Dave Senjem, R-Rochester, referred in a statement to "the executive branch's power play to overstep the authority of the Legislature" and urged voters to keep Republicans in the majority in both the House and Senate this November to check the power of the executive branch.
As for Ritchie, he issued a brief statement saying in part: "I thank the Supreme Court for its prompt action on this legal challenge to the law first passed by the state legislature in 1919, affirmed in 1981, directing the Secretary of State to title proposed constitutional amendments." He urged voters to read the complete text of the proposed amendments on his office's Web site.
Ritchie changed the title for the marriage ban from "Recognition of Marriage Solely Between One Man and One Woman" to "Limiting the Status of Marriage to Opposite Sex Couples." He rewrote the photo ID title from "Photo Identification Required for Voting" to "Changes to In-Person & Absentee Voting & Voter Registration; Provisional Ballots."
Limmer said the Legislature deliberately adopted neutral titles for the ballot questions.
"We did not want to sway the voter in any manner," he said. "We found it objectionable that the secretary of state would take it upon himself in unilateral action."
Luchelle Stevens, who heads a statewide effort to defeat the photo ID amendment, said the rulings wouldn't stop the campaign to defeat "this unnecessary, extreme and expensive overhaul of Minnesota's election system."

LOL, X, I just noticed your avatar. this is too much to read right now, am I reading this right? They do not need photo ID in Minnesota?
I think they do need an ID to vote..but it also sounds like they (Dems) wanted them to vote on it and the Repubs broke the Mn constitution by not letting the people vote on it. Big surprise there huh.
This is absolutely unbelievable what these people are blatantly doing. You know what, even if I was a (R) and didn't like Obama I would vote all (D) just because of how they are trying to steal the election. And because of what they've done in Congress to this country. These pscho's talk about Obama is destroying this country, it's them.
It has been for a long time. But it took some greedy bastards to take certain issues and bang the drum against them to gin up support for their FAKE outrage! And some are foolish enough to fall for it. Hate is a strong driver and its being used against them. So guys like Limbaugh and others whack the bee hive even more in hopes of making people blind with hatred for their own purposes. The Devil will be beaten and we will win but we must really try.
Hi ya, Dawn & xxx!
I really like your comment #140.3, Dawn......of course, it's not the only one <s>.......because that's exactly what I'm doing even though I'm a Conservative. I know a lot of the r/tp's would say otherwise but, then that's their opinion.....none of my business either. For the first time, for my State's primary, I voted a straight ticket and it was all Dems. Can't trust the "right" anymore and I'm not the only Conservative who feels that way. Believe it or not, some of us really do think. <vbs>
The new GOP is *way too crazy* (to put it politely) and I can't see them coming back to reality for the rest of my lifetime. Have never been an R, D or I (yes, I do see a difference between where I am in my political ideology and an Independent but, won't discuss that here).
Perfect analogy in #140.4 as per usual, xxx. Greedy, fake, foolish, hate, blind are some of *many* very good adjectives when talking about the game plan coming from the "right". It's just amazing to me that Rash Limpbag (aka, Butt Boil 4F) and friends haven't gotten anaphylaxic(sp) shock from the bee stings and been learned to STFU.....must be "defenseless"......no stingers.....or maybe just don't mind being "disturbed" or would that be "disturbed minds"?
And, *yes*, this "fixed race" can be won but, in spite of the losers on the ticket and other offices, there can be *no complacency* by Progressives. Please, people, get people educated, registered and to the polls. As Robert says "Let's ROLL."
Folks forget that Obama is also half-white and raised by his white grandparents.
Oh no Obama's BLACK! OMG!!!!
If republican's could tell the country how they are going to turn the world around i be tempted to listen to all they lie's but all they do is take part on the president speech 's he made and just turn it in to a lie's and know it untrue..............i hope that everyone smart to know that all they said is untrue............i guess if u had money oversea it guess u can flood that air way with all these lie's......................
They will never tell you because all of their ideas are proven to not work. They want to double down on tax cuts for the wealthy. Proven not to work time and time again, not working right now, but they want to take it further. They think they are paying too much, they might not be able to buy another home, car, boat, plane, island.... you get the picture.
Is so funny how Mr Ed said that Romney doesn't have the Latino support! What Latinos is he talking about? A community that is so diverse, how can he just sit there and lie! where those he get that information? Out of his behind? This guy is full of crap. Perhaps he is talking about the Mexican community, probably! what about the other Hispanics of other countries, which views are so different. The Hispanic community is extremely diverse, not only in culture, but in ethnicity! but then again he puts Latinos in the same boat as American Blacks. Point is, he is an Idiot!!
OH HO HO ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ RE-REG^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^GOMER
Seems to me that msnbc is playing the race card, the class card, and the morality card with the sole purpose to divide people with hateful tone, but I guess after looking at this blog it kinda looks like you are preaching to choir, don't it. Just saying.
Imagine if Ron Paul announced a national campaign called 'Whites for Ron Paul' – he'd be vilified as a racist. And yet Barack Obama has done the equivalent of precisely that with his launch of 'African Americans for Obama'.
The program urges black Americans to volunteer their time by making calls, organizing events and going door to door in their neighborhoods encouraging other African Americans to vote for Obama. This was in February of 2012
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ 2 - RE-REGS - Back to Back ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
392: So dumb its no wonder we have problems of all kinds in this country. I guess they could be Whites for Paul if whites were a minority. So what about these KKK and Nazi groups Skinheads ect. Do you think they are racist and what color are these people? They aren't at all racist do you think? There's no racists try again and its always someone with another skin color sure it is.
Obviously the Democrats are playing the race card. Liberal media shows are the only ones even talking about racism being an issue in this election. There is nothing wrong with talking about issues that matter to white male voters. I will vote for the candidate that will best represent MY interests.
ANOTHER ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ RE-REG ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
The Woodwork Is FULL Of Termites !!!! Well - GOMERS - hey !!!!!!!!!
The Republicans are full of lies. This is sho shameful. But, the people that believe the lies are just as babd. But, then I wonder if these folks REALLY believe these lies, or they would rather vote against the President. I mean, how can anyone have one ounce of faith in a man that 1. flat refuse to submit more years of his tax returns, 2. they have to call "mommie" to help tell a lie. 3. Outsourced jobs. 4. hiding his money in foreign countries. 5. hang out with Donald Trump, just to name a few. Mitt and Ryan or playing the race and women card. They careless about woman for certain. Basically women are to be seen and not heard, with regards to any rights or voice. What really gets me is their stupidity to believe that the President would have actually ran for President of the United States KNOWING that he was not a citizen of the U.S, especially being an attorney. But, one things that everyone seems to forget, Obama is biracial. He is neither black nor white, although he is considered to be black because of his father being African. Well, November will come, and the Republicans have thrown everything out with the dishwater, except the baby, and I am certain that will come, before the election. Think about it, votes suppression in Ohio, PA, and FL, democratic states and counties. Republicans plan to win, at any means necessary. But, if they do win, one thing that I can promise, or better yet guarantee, those that make less than the million of dollars, will also reap his wrath, whether you are black, white, blue, yellow, or green for that matter. African Amercians won't be the only folks in the soup line. And whether theyknow it or not, there are more whites receiving food stamps, amd Medicaid than one thinks. But, the focus has been on African Americans. Oh yes, the welfare "queen" so to speak is not just African american, but all races especially with people being laid off. Their point is to hurt black people, but they will be hurting all races, whose incoem is way below theirs. Romney nor Ryan doesn't unstand nor can relate to anything or anyone if their income bracket with the digits that theirs have. But, yet, some middle-class, poor still will vote for this liar. I am praying and trusting that God intervenes, especially with all the lies and nasty from the group. Shameful.
Oh MY GOD, Newt just said The (D)'s lie and the (R)'s tell the truth! How do these people not spontaneously cumbust?
Let me tell you a little story. There were four girls that went out to eat after work and have a couple of drinks every Wednesday. They all got along great. I would say they were best friends and could say nothing bad against one another. Then one day one of the girls asked the others if it was OK if she brought a friend she had met a few weeks before to their Wednesday night outing. Everyone agreed there would be no problem with her bringing her friend. So her friend came and everyone seemed to like her and now there were five girls going out every Wednesday, eating and having a couple of drinks. Weeks went by and it seemed the girls weren't getting along like they had for the last year. They started getting into little fights with one another and pretty soon they got where they couldn't stand each other and stopped going out. Does anyone have any idea why?

Hey CM - Alrite Tonight ??
Hi MD, i am fine, how about you?
Good one CM....all is fair in love and war.
That's right TM, The Tea Party Republicans, put out all this Birth Certificate garbage on President Obama, Yet Romney has the same situation going on, A father born in another Country, A birth certificate saying "certificate of live birth" so where is the outrage, well, maybe Romney is more acceptable to the Tea Party because he is only half brown and his dad was born in a country which is geographically closer to the USA and OBama's dad is born in a country which is geographically further and he Obama is half black, that maybe the difference..I am showing how ridiculous the entire birther beliefs are...

It saddens me to see a question like this. It's a loaded grenade and inflammatory no matter which way you answer.
There are so many bright people here who are passionate and care very deeply about our country. It just bums me out that all this energy is being wasted here arguing with one another.
I hope you don't mind if I ask another question, in the hope that maybe we can start a positive and productive dialog.
The question is this:
What do you feel is the biggest problem facing America right now? Is it foreign policy? Or maybe monetary policy? (that would be my answer). How about unemployment?
I'm quite certain that if we put politics aside and just speak to one another like Americans, maybe we can identify our biggest concerns and if we're really lucky come up with some foundational solutions that maybe we can all find some common ground on.
Truthfully I am less concerned about what our politicians are doing. They're all totally blowing it as far as I'm concerned and I think that real transformation will start with us, the regular people with regular lives trying to get on with it in our country.
Nobody has to participate in this if they don't want to. I just think it might be nice to have a rational discussion talking to each other as people without taking any sides for a change. Anyone interested?
Nice Concept --- It Doesn't Work ------------- Not In 2012 ----- WHY You May Ask --- Well ----------- The Answer IS ------ The gop-Neo-Con-Nazi's - That Want To Over Throw OUR Government - So As THEY Can Take Complete And TOTAL CONTROL --- That's WHY -------- And The Battle Continues -------------------------------------That And Goofballs Like The One That Is On #152.1 ------- I Rest MY Case --- PAL ...................he he heeeeeeeeeeeee..........................................Boobyface --- Just What Do You Think This Battle Is About -- I Have Read Your BS Toooo .................
I disagree MD/MI. I think we can be the change we want to see. Doesn't it really start with us?
It seems unfair that we demand that our politicians work together when we don't first try to do it ourselves.
Does this make sense to anyone besides me?
You can't have an intelligent conversation with someone who won't listen. have you been paying attention for last 4 years its been nothing but attack Obama to try and make him a one term president. And we all the working class has to suffer and they will make things much worse if the teapublicans get in. I for one don't want to be ruled by a corprotocracy. Do you?
Again - Nice Concept - But I Have Read Your Posts -- What - Now You Are Extending the Olive Branch --- Sorry Pal - President Obama Attempted That For 3 Years - And Finally He Has Woken-Up --- Nice Try - Bud - But It IS Far Tooo Late .......I have Also Attempted That .... But What I Have Found - Is That There Is NO Communication with The Dit-Da-Dit-Da-Duh - GOMERS ---- Good Luck Anyway ..... he he heeeeeeee....... Face It - Your Side Is Sinking into The Abyss and They Do NOT Have Enough Life-Gear to Sustain Them ---- Big-Money Cannot BUY Everything !!!!!
I don't have a side, and to extend an olive branch would suggest that I've engaged in some sort of attack against someone, which I have not done here to my knowledge.
Oh - You "Don't Recall" -- How ray-gunesk --- Ha Ha Ha Haaaaaaaaaa
Extending an Olive-Branch Suggests that One has Engaged In An Attack ??? Really.........
Brave: The unemployment situation is perhaps first and foremost on people's minds, there are so many who have lost their homes, and we hear its all Obama's fault, not true, the GOP has not cooperated in anyway to end this condition, I don't thing Obama has done everything right, that also has to do with the advise he had received, however, the GOP's first and foremost position is to make him a one time President not withstanding that their are people/citizens livelihood at stake..I don't think the congress has done their jobs...
HI MD, how are you tonight, its getting late so I will go to sleep soon, but I wanted to say hello...
xep, I'm sure you wont come back and see this, I left before you made this comment, the reason people couldn't pay was because their interests rates ballooned. I saw something with a couple who expected their payment to be like 1,100 a month but ended up being 1,800 or more. I think it was more, both of those amounts, I saw this over 6 months ago, so my numbers are bound to be off. The fact remains that these lenders acted in bad faith because they were making a profit off of it. They sent emails to each other saying things like "this is a @!$%#ty deal" again those are my words because I don't remember the exact quotes, but that is what they meant. You think less of people who have not been successful, this is the reason I can't stand you. You are a bigot period, and not only to other races, whites as well. You for some reason think you are better than others, and you have the very ideas in your head that I have seen spewed out by the hate mongers. I don't think you have an original thought.
as for have I paid back, no, I am not in any position too. but wouldlove to be so I could.
DawnCT: Of course you are correct, these people that received those sub-prime mortgages were tricked, they did not realize they were getting adjustable rate mortgages and after a period of time the rate skyrocketed, that XEP is not very smart, but is fooling himself, I bet he/she is just a youngster and thinks he has the world in his hands, haven't lived long enough to know that life can throw you a curve ball..I hope he gets his in full measure...
If this is how you wish to spend your time by all means carry on.
Just know that I recognize you're better than all this name calling going on here. All of you are better than this.

Bravest, #152 and 153 strings :
I'm NOT familiar with yor previous posts, like MD/MI, so I'm going 2 give U benefit of the doubt for the moment, at least in my response right here ...
... taking U at face value in yor FIRST post at the top of this "page" 8, my first reaction was / is that U could just as easily B a fellow Green Party member, as U mite b a repo party "plant."
So, continuing with the first presumption U a fellow GP member, I will simply ask you, "why can't WE 'multi-task' ?? " That is, what's so counter-productive about libs here, on this MSNBC blog, engaging in BOTH venting of "steam," AND dialoguing in earnest with those who visit here, who obviously don't necessarily share all the same philosophical liberal outlook ??
I've done BOTH. AND, I've read posts from other libs here that have ALSO done the same ... which implies that there R/ have been visitors from the
rightwrong wing, who have displayed some civility. Now, don't respond with EITHER an earnest /honest criticism OR a pseudo-caring criticism of my above playful and/or sarcastic use of the word "right" followed by the word "wrong," having deliberately crossed out "right," in reference to the repos (oopsie, i mean "republicans" ).
There's PLENTY of room to engage in open, honest, constructive dialog with others WHILE ALSO making use of sarcasm OR pointing out irony and hypocrisy in the repo party --- granted, not necessarily within the SAME post, though I wouldn't rule THAT out either.
The Bottom Line, B.F., is that WE CAN move forward without giving up poking fun at some people who deserve it. The problem is NOT with the overall approach by libs at blogs like this one. The problem is with the way people who populate the Faux friendly media blogs elsewhere behave. THEY R the ones who should B getting the type of "lecture" it seems U R tempted 2 want 2 give the rest of us here.
I invite U 2 go 2 click onto MY account and read the interchange between "Thoughtful Conservative" and myself that started several months ago.
U will C that I gave this guy benefit of the doubt, offering him the same courtesy I would anyone else I have little or no previous knowledge about, just like someone I would meet in the "REAL" world.
But, at some point, when someone presents him or herself in a way that deserves challenge ... guess whut ... THEY WILL RECEIVE CHALLENGE. And if THEY degrade to or REVEAL their animosity, U CAN'T EXPECT that I will OR SHOULD continue to maintain MY CIVILITY INDEFINITELY, in the interest of WHUT ?? ...
... nope, sorry. I'm NOT one of those "turn the other cheek," overly patient constant givers of "charity" to those who prove THEY R unworthy. Not 2 sound overly gross, BUTT, folks who bend over too far, with an open jar of vaseline in ONE hand, while holding drone predator bottle rockets in the OTHER hand R just ASKIN' FOT IT, if U know whut I mean; ESPECIALLY IF they continue turning the "other" cheek, they risk one of those "elephants" cumming up behind them and "spreading" the "other" two.[don't ANYONE cum CRYIN' 2 me if THAT happens]
THE biggest mistake that libs have historically made in this countries his-story is bending over backwards too far, too often, even to the point of granting grossly asymmetrical partisanship and/or "peace, luv and understanding" to those neanderthal types who couldn't or willfully WOULDN'T accept same.
In such instances in history AS WELL AS PRESENT TIMES (history repeats), we see how repos R given an inch and they TAKE, not a foot or yard, butt a F***** MILE !!
Now, to address U more DIRECTLY :
On the notion of putting "politics aside," it's NOT necessarily a death sentence for constructive engagement if "politics" R included. After-all, "politics" is virtually inescapable. It's EVERYWHERE. No matter what craft, trade, or profession one goes into ... no matter whether at school dealing with classmates, or dealing with teachers ... or on "vacation," or in your role as someones "client," or if YOU R the retailer or vendor, or whatever.
"Politics" isn't just about water cooler convo about the Coke and Pepsi candidates we R given 2 choose between.
It's ALSO about our other "people skills."
So, don't run from it. EMBRACE IT.
"Politics" is people skills, whether U R a thief, busy transferring American jobs overseas, via fancy accounting trickery under the "legal" guise of "venture equity" OR a boiler room operator who stiffs fellow repo party businessmen for $800.00 worth of campaign printing, while buying OUTRAGEOUSLY EXPENSIVE TIFFANY jewelry OR a teacher inspiring 2nd graders to fall in love with reading and writing OR a union representative who successfully advocates for his fellow workers OR an elementary school student saluting the U.S. flag and reciting the pledge of allegiance, knowing full well whut's been going on in Viet Nam OR a nurse or CNA motivating an elderly person to eay breakfast ... OR two "bloggers" at MSNBC.
On the question of what is the "biggest problem facing America right now" ? ..
... I wish it were just ONE problem.
Unfortunately, we've collectively allowed the "yard" to become overrun with "weeds," instead of keeping on top of problems AS THEY PRESENTED THEMSELVES.
So now, we R facing SIMULTANEOUS CRITICAL ISSUES --- like environmental toxicity on a HUGH, WORLDWIDE, ACROSS THE BOARD scale ( water, soils and air ), related UNFETTERED tampering with the genetic code of BOTH plant and animal species alongside the food supply by MONSTER CORPORATIONS like Monsanto and Bayer, long-standing DE-FUNDING of the federal gov't income stream with SIMULTANEOUS OUTRAGEOUS OVERSPENDING (not in social programs and related infrastructure projects, but on the War Department and war-making and OCCUPATION across the world ), to name a few.
When U begin to deconstruct, attempt to "untangle" the mess WE ALL R facing, it becomes OBVIOUS that the genesis is the deliberate actions AND INACTIONS of the repo party, with the help of their allies, the D.I.N.O.S ( dems in name only ). These problems have been a LOOONG TIME IN THE MAKING, going back to Jan. 1981 when ReaGUN's regime began.
Some aspects R rooted back to the start of the 20th century, others, such as tactics related to racial and social class divisions go back WAY WAY B 4 --- back to the arrival of the Spanish in 1500.
So, no matter how U want 2 slice it, it's STILL REPO PARTY BALONEY we R dealin' with here.
no way to sugar coat it, sorry. :>)
But, in the interest of a "bi-partisan" start towards joint efforts at tackling this tangeled web ... I'll simply start it off by suggesting something simple, something doable --- how about visiting the Green Party websites, as well as Ralph Nader's. Skip the repo and dem. party sites, especially right now. The dems and repos R PRIMARILY focused on raising $$, not consciousness.
The Greens put their limited $$ where their mouths ARE.
U can support or defend true dems. like I do, BUT GIVE YOUR VOTES TO GREEN candidates and THEN certain dem candidates U know for a fact have not voted with repos on critical issues. AND AVOID VOTING FOR REPOS LIKE THE PLAGUE.
AND what about "independents" ?? ... they're a mixed bag : some R more repo party sympathetic or ideological, like Joe Liberman, while some R TRUE independents, TRUE BLUE liberals worthy of your vote, like Bernie Sanders.
AND "libertarians" ?? Beware of them. Too often they R another flavor of repo.
While Ron Paul is currently with the repo party, he has a libertarian following. THEY like him for positions that I actually agree with, like OVERHAULING the federal reserve, bringing troops home AS WELL AS a massive recall of our massive military presence from around the world (though I don't technically agree with his nuanced reasons ), STOP treating Private Bradley Manning like a criminal without due process rights, but rather, as a NATIONAL HERO, for the just, righteous whistle-blower HE HAPPENS TO BE, among a few other.
BUT, I CAN'T vote for Paul, nor ESPECIALLY HIS KID, Rand(cid) Paul.
Daddy Ron has unresolved issues around RACE, which are VERY SERIOUS and troubling, JUST LIKE SOME OF HIS QUASI-ANARCHISTIC IDEAS ABOUT closing down certain federal gov't depts / agencies --- NO THANKS.
His boy Rand is REALLY REALLY OFF THE CHAIN. His logic and reasoning around the "commerce clause"(?) as it relates to individual business peoples "rights" to exclude certain customers (black Americans) R mid 19 thru mid 20th century backwards thinking. He's taken other positions that all add up to MORON.
So, there U have it, Bravest F.
I won't ask U to "take sides," though, given the reality, I don't see HOW U can avoid it at some point --- it B like we'd B expecting U to walk on water ... like YOU KNOW WHO.
Lord. Help us.
Bravestface, "What do you feel is the biggest problem facing this country right now?"
I'd like to answer that:
Our government is for sale to the highest bidder. As a result, we have a broken and disfunctional system in which nothing gets done to help the country.
Until we stop the bribery (lobbying) going on 24/7 in congress, etc. we are a broken government, and the wealthy, corporations, and special interest groups rule what legislation is passed and what is not.
That's my opinion. I believe Democracy has given way to Oligarchy.
(I forgot to put you on ignore and saw your comment.)
