I haven't heard PBO mention racism or talking or pandering just to the emotions of one group. Republicans are the ones who continue doing things that will hurt Americans by pandering to those who are prejudiced. I am a white person and I have seen how the GOP has insulted those civil servants who are sympathetic to others. They have even used children.
& Hailey Barbour, the governor who used Eminent domain to take away oil filled lands that belong to blacks. I know a family who lost their land to eminent domain because there was oil in it and Barbour (not proven yet) took bribes and bribed the courts to fail against the owners of the land and in favor of the oil company.
Well let's see if anyone disagrees with barry or says his policies are wrong for country they are a racist. Seems to me the dems have been playing the race card since he first got into the presidential race (no pun intended).
Why can't you just accept that people with different views or opinions are not racist and really don't care if he is white, black yellow or purple. His policies have been very bad for the country and we think it is time for a change.
Afrommi, the Republicans are doing the same thing in certain cities in Florida. Communities are being wiped out by the Republicans for their friends, the developers. The greed is unbelievable. They are even allowing private institutions to eminent domain property in the black community. I am so disgusted with the Republican Party. They are trying to take us back to the "Black Codes."
Hey, so I saw that this poll was going to go up and I thought to myself, why is a show on msnbc asking its viewers anything about what they believe? I mean Ed goes around calling women @!$%#s it's obvious that everyone who watches him believes the same and therefor will think that the RepubliCON or as some of our other talk show hosts call them "the stupid party." Like really Ed, are you thick to believe that Republicans won't be voted as playing the race card. All despite the fact that our incumbent is a African American?
Then If the eminent domain is rampant among Republican contrlled states then we can be sure Trump is involved. He was responsible in New York for leaving a lot of poor people homeless. Through eminent domain he bought land at pennies on the dollar from the city and built these luxury apartments. He got rich with all those. Watch the documentary "the 1%" towards the end they mention how the wealthy is buying from the government land that belongs or where the poor lives.

There is a way to stop it, but that would require Congress to pass and the President to sign a Campaign Reform bill that every political ad have a mandatory truth-in-advertizing prologue as a PSA:
Given how frequently politicians get away with lying in positive ads about themselves or negative ads about the opponent. the only politicians who would approve such legislation would be those who don't lie and also don't approve of others lying on their behalf.
If we had a Congress that would pass such legislation, we'd also have a Congress with a significant majority of members more interested in solving America's problems than in getting reelected. Nor would the minority Party in the Senate allow their Leader abuse the filibuster as a way of making the Minority Party the ruling Party of the Senate, much less give Party Politics a higher priority than the good of the Country.

Your accusation is false. As a matter of fact, Cornell West has taken Obama to task for not promoting pro-Black legislation, which Obama refuses to do because he's President of the United States of America, not just for the Black Citizens of America.
Obama has not been able to get many of his policies enacted because of Obstructionist Elephants in Congress who can't or won't remember that Supply-Side Trickle-Down Economics hasn't ever worked, starting with Reagan in 1981. We have 30 years of demonstrable proof that what the GOP said would trickled down has at best only trickled up - at worst, flooded up. Moreover, deregulating Wall Street all but guaranteed that the same financial shenanigans that caused the Great Depression would again do grave damage to the Global Economy.

For all that Obama had never been a Businessman, he understands very well that concentrating more wealth amongst the richest 2%, as the GOP wants to do much more of, will not lead to any kind of economic recovery or job creation until the Middle Class and Working Poor have enough extra income to drive demand. But, the GOP wants to squeeze what little income the Middle Class and Working Poor still have and give it to the very rich so that they'll have yet more money that they can't do anything productive with.
The biggest problem that we currently have with too much government spending is that most of it has been diverted, through far too many loopholes, to make Big Business Owners richer without doing anything productive to earn the tax breaks.
And, while racism may not be as blatantly widespread as it used to be, there is still a very serious problem with Racialism (def.: a theory that race determines human traits and capacities), which can be "kinder and gentler" than Racism, but, at it's worst, Racialism is Racism.
Thus, as much as Obama may have intended to be a post-racial, post-partisan President, socio-political forces in Congress, the RNC, the TEA Party, and the PR/Propaganda arm of the Republican Party, as demonstrated by the likes of Hannity, Beck, Limbaugh, and the rest of that ilk, has encouraged a socio-political slide from mere Racialism back towards overt Racism as demonstrated by the Birther Conspiracy, epithets such as "Food Stamp President" (even if that was more true of Bush-43 than of Obama).
More recently, this past Friday, when the Romneys had a speaking engagement at their original hometown in Michigan, Mitt alluded to the Birther Conspiracy when he stated that no on had to ask him for his birth certificate because everyone knew where he came from, first his campaign, then Mitt claimed it was merely humor. As someone noted on another msnbc program prior to the Ed Show, "Audiences are supposed to laugh at humor, but this audience was cheering." Obviously, no one told that audience they were supposed to laugh at Mitt's extremely misguided attempt at humor. Thus, Obama, his campaign, pro-Obama voters, as well as objective observers, are entirely justified in stipulating that Romney was pandering to his Base and trying to inject doubt about Obama being a citizen amongst the Undecideds.

For me it's not so much about finding out if Willard cheated on his taxes. It has more to do with rate and how that was arrived at......could be the perfect template for mostly tax reform for personal income tax deductions and the corporate too......highlight every damn one that only the very wealthy get and make informed decisions about what to delete from the tax code.
Fair share is what the American People deserve and tax code revisions would go a long way as part of the solutions needed to get the deficit and debt under control in 10 of so years. And the RobUS/Ruin plan is running against the "fair share" concept. For heaven's sake, their platform is "Let's do a Bush Jr. on steroids! Hooray!!". We can't afford the indulgences the wealthy want for themselves and want to dump on the backs of those on Main Street.....we just can't do it.

The new NBC News/Wall Street Journal presidential poll is a lightening rod for race relations revealing President Obama captures 94 percent of the Black vote. Mitt Romney, zero. Of course there are Black Republicans and of course they will probably vote for Mitt Romney: Herman Cain, Michael Steele and Mia Love, Allen West. But what’s the most telling about this poll is not the President’s lead among the people with whom on the surface he has the most in common, he also leads among Hispanics, women, and voters under 35. What’s telling about this particular part of the poll is what the zero number represents for Mitt Romney and the Republican party.
GOP Mitt Romney leads among Seniors, whites, and people living in rural areas. Sounds like the demographics of the South to me.
It’s been long held the Republican party is the party of the old Dixie-crats. The party of southern land owning, humans as property owning men. But if the base of the party are the only viable members of the party the GOP is going to find itself in an identity crisis very soon. The makeup of America is changing. Southern whites don’t dominate the way they used to. I’d go so far as to say they don’t dominate at all.
If you live in the South you know there are still deep seeded racial issues that aren’t as prevalent, if at all in the North. Take race mixing and marriage as the most recent example.
In the south the frequency with which you see the hate and heritage symbolizing Confederate Flag is not surprising; no reason to sound the alarm. The same can’t be said when you see the criss crossed stars and bars in the North. It is incendiary, damn near a reason to riot.
The differences in landscape, culture, priorities and people can explain the extreme polarization of the country. The south holds steadfastly to family values and religion making it an easy win for the Republican party which posits itself as the party of family values and evangelism. Some ask the question, If Black people hold fast to family values and conservative mores, why don’t they vote Republican? The simple answer is the Republican party while catering to the family values set, caters more to those with tall money and deep pockets, a set many minorities by circumstance, not choice, are excluded from.
Mitt Romney’s courageous appeal to Black voters at the NAACP conference was out of political duty not genuine interest. If the Republican party and its supporters want to play courtesan to one of the most picked over minority groups in the country feel free. But if they are going to don the role of the coquette they need to master the art of making one time samplers repeat customers.
The Republican party is hostile to outsiders. Minorities and immigrants are said to be welcomed but only in the confines of appearing to boost diversity not actually initiating a lane of equal opportunity. Women are only worthy if married with children. Single women are villainized or left victim to policies that protect nuclear family units over singular independence.
Those without excessive monetary value are insulted being told they are not working hard enough to achieve success; accused of being envious of the wealth of others when really they just want a shot to create their own.
There is no room to alternate from the main narrative of the Republican party. Without that alternation there is no room for inclusion because opposing ideas and opinions are shunned.
It is no surprise Mitt Romney has not captured the Black vote. It is not his fault. George W. Bush and Republican Presidents before him didn’t capture much of the Black vote either. Black people are not shunning the candidates per say, they are shunning the party that shuns them. The party that says, yes you must jump through all our hoops just to vote this year. The party that says if you are on welfare you are lazy, if you go to Planned Parenthood for any reason you are a baby killer, and if you came to this country for a chance to make your life better for you despite your illegal entry than you should turn around and retreat until you are invited in to the nation that says we will make all of your dreams come true.
The Republican party is the party of old moneyed mongrels who have no time to waste on charity cases, cases Democrats presume to take up with pride.
If Mitt Romney and the entire Republican party want an even split of the “unaccountable” voters they need to actually embrace the issues of these specific demographic groups. Until then they’ll continue to come up with zero and have to mobilize their base and not so undecided undecideds while Democrats reap the spoils of being able to pick from the minority majority.

Truth is I found in a couple of surveys, that more white men were arrested for crimes, but more blacks were jailed. Now that seems strange?
That many are killed in Chicago on an average weekend, but not a word in the media
When I lived in Vegas most of the gangs were hispanics. Whenever they had the car show the gangs from Los Angeles would come in and they hated each other. Always could count on murders whenever the car show was in town.
I guess crime comes in all colors, My point is, it doesn't just lie in at the feet on one race, it's every where. We do need to deal the "GUN" violence, no matter where it comes from. Let's just stop being color blind about it. Too many innocent people are leaving way too soon. Maybe instead of trying to make this a race issue, we should post solutions and suggestions, on how we as concerned citizens can address this, and at least attempt to fix it. Instead of using it as a talking point.. My ears are open, I don't want to see any one lose their life in such a senseless way.

While your conclusion is correct, your reasoning for it is not - in 1964, the "DIXIECRATS" opposed civil rights (in general) They manage to hamstring the party enough that the Republican MODERATES (yes, indeed, there WAS SUCH A TYPE) banded together to ensure passage of the legislation. Then the voting rights act of 1965 irritated them even MORE - enough that they LEFT the Democrats (not that the bustards were much good any way) and migrated over to the RETHUGs (which was rapidly being turned "reichwing" by their association with the christian religionazis), Only a vary few remained - like Robert Byrd of Virginia (former high ranking something in the KKK) The DIXIECRATS were welcomed by the rightwingers with open arms.

I don't think that people espcially young people who were first time voters in 2008 realized that they have an obligation to vote every two years. Remember the republicans did not want to pay for Civics classes anymore and I guess that created Apathy.
