The new wave band Devo (remember Whip It from 1980?) is out with a new song slamming Mitt Romney.
The group just released Don't Roof Rack Me, Bro (Remember Seamus), a song that pays tribute to Seamus Romney, the Irish setter that Romney infamously strapped to the roof of the family station wagon for a 12-hour drive in 1983.
Jerry Casale, one of the band's founding members, wrote the song and joined forces with the the group Dogs Against Romney. He will appear on The Ed Show tonight at 8pET on MSNBC to talk about the song.
Yesterday, he told Rolling Stone magazine that the lyrics are designed to highlight a character flaw of Romney:
Your master's story seems air-tight
But somethin' about him isn't right
He'll say anything to win the race
Wish you could rise up from your grave
And tell the world
How his smile hides
The soul of an angry little man
"It's just a deal-breaker about the man," said Casale. "My God, the world is a scary place with seven billion people. What you want in a leader is a guy with some humanity at his core. I just don't feel that Mitt does."
Casale insists Devo is not "stumping for [President Barack] Obama." While the group did a fundraising show for Obama in their hometown of Akron, Ohio, back in 2008, Casale says he "absolutely" does not approve of the president's job performance.
"Devo are not naive people. If anyone still thinks that the President of the United States of America runs things, they really live in the Wizard of Oz-land. My God, we're a plutocracy. We're owned and leveraged by global corporations."
Still, Casale says he'll vote for Obama just the same.
"That's the safer choice," he says.

Jerry Casale was not a good guest to have on your show. His comments were not needed at a time when people are being held back from voting. I can watch Fox News and listen to Rush Limbaugh to hear President Obama bashing. I expect more positive comments from your guests. I don't understand what some people expect when you have an extreme recession to deal with and a Congress of Tea Party obstructionists. The President is far from perfect but the Romney/Ryan ticket would DESTROY DEMOCRACY.

Hey Urban, The President can't "delete amendments." See, to do that it takes 3/4's vote in both the House and Senate and then it goes to the states to ratify. The President doesn't have a thing to do with The Constitution.
