Her sparkly pink website greets visitors with the midi file for LMFAO’s “Sexy and I know it” and her issues section is illustrated with a picture of young Mindy costumed as the heroine from Hunger Games.
No, this is not a fourteen-year-old running for class president of the 8th grade, this is Mindy Meyers: Republican candidate for New York state Senate. She’s branding herself as the “Diva of the District,” and proudly boasts she is “the first young woman in the history of New York to run for New York State Senate.”
Currently, Meyer interns in the court of Judge Fancisco Rivera in Kings County Supreme Court in Brooklyn, taking law classes at night. But with no political background or experience, Meyer claims she intends to “utilize her religious values and moral compass as her guide.”
When you look beyond the glitter and leopard print fonts, she does express an opinion on a number of issues. She wants to end the controversial NYPD Stop & Frisk practice but still looks to “crack down on crime” focusing on domestic violence and curbing “gang related activity by restructuring their lives.”
She believes in tearing down district lines in favor of open enrollment laws for students in New York public schools and the voucher program, popular with more conservative voters.
Mindy is challenging Kevin S. Parker, a Democrat who has served as the 21st District’s senator since 2002. Parker’s political experience and educational background speak volumes, not to mention his record as Senator for 10 years running.
Meyer may be generating a lot of buzz with her wild website but conservatives and liberals alike in the 21st District may be looking for a little more substance and a little less glitter.

Come on people...she's just another amateur clown...obviously, a self-proclaimed one at that. No offense to the professional clowns.
Really if she was a professional GOP Clown she would have said that "God" told he to run for State Senate.

please apologize to all clowns.
Come on people. She's just another clown...obviously, a self-proclaimed one and a rank amateur at that. No offense to Professional Clowns. - warlocl3270 -

Well, if she was really a jewish orthodox girl, she'd avoid politics, avoid to be good looking and so on.
Wow Dave, your standard for good-looking is really low. She looks like chipmunk cheeks stuffed with nuts and a pointy chin, faintly reminiscent of the Wicked Witch of the West. Not to mention five pounds of eyeliner.
Yes, she's a little ridiculous. But, how is this guy she's running against, Kevin Parker, still in office? He seems like a monster. This is from wikipedia:
In January 2005, Parker was arrested after punching a traffic agent in the face during a dispute over a traffic citation that he had been issued. He was subsequently charged with third degree assault, a misdemeanor. The charges were dropped after he agreed to take anger management classes.[2]
In 2008, an aide filed charges against Parker, claiming he pushed her during an argument and smashed her glasses.[2]
On May 8, 2009, Parker was charged with felony criminal mischief for attacking a New York Post photographer and damaging the photographer's camera and car door. According to prosecutors, the photographer's finger was broken in the alleged attack.[3][4] Parker was charged with a felony due to the value of damage to the camera and car door.[5] As a result, he was stripped of his leadership position as majority whip and chair of the Energy Committee.[6] Parker was convicted of a misdemeanor charge, criminal mischief, and on March 21, 2011 was sentenced to three years probation and a $1,000 fine.[7] Had he been convicted of the felonies, he would have automatically lost his seat in the Senate, and the Senate had already expelled Hiram Monserrate for misdemeanor charges earlier in the year. The Senate Democrats have indicated an unwillingness to expel Parker as they did Monserrate.[8]
In February 2010, Parker was restrained by his colleagues during a profane tirade against Senator Diane Savino, in which Parker referred to Savino as a "b****".[9]
In April 2010, Parker launched into an outburst while colleague John DeFrancisco of Syracuse was questioning a black nominee for the New York State Power Authority.[10] "Amid the nearly two-minute tirade, committee chairman Carl Kruger (D-Brooklyn) told Parker he would be removed from the hearing room if he didn't settle down."[11] Parker accused his colleagues of racism, and followed up in a radio interview by accusing his Republican "enemies" of being white supremacists.[2] Following the tirade, Sen. Ruben Diaz (D-Bronx) was quoted as saying that Parker "need[ed] help."[12]
In March 2012, Parker used his Twitter account to denounce Governor Andrew Cuomo, State Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos and Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver as "Three White guys in the room making all the decisions. Of course that what Skelos wants #businessasusual #dysfunctionalAlbany" Parker then sparred with other Twitter users, including an Orthodox Jew, whom he told, "there is nothing shameful about pointing out power inequities. You would feel different if one of the guys wasn’t orthodox."[13]
