Theater shooting suspect James Eagan Holmes appeared in court for the first time Monday where a judge explained why he was being held on no bond. NBC's Mike Taibbi reports.
The world gets its first look at the man accused of killing twelve and injuring 58 others in Aurora, Colorado.
Tonight, we'll have the latest on the investigation with Mike Taibbi, NBC News Correspondent, and Jordan Ghawi, brother of Jessica Ghawi, who was killed in the shooting.
Are we one nation, under the gun? Some lawmakers are fighting back. Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) says we need to do more and she join guest-host Michael Eric Dyson tonight.
The Aurora shooting creeps into presidential politics, the big panel (Keli Goff, author (“The GQ Candidate”), Ari Melber, Correspondent for The Nation, and Ron Christie, Republican Strategist) weighs in on that.
And the fallout from Michele Bachmann’s unhinged attack against Hillary Clinton’s top aide continues. Huma Abedein now requires police protection as Rush Limbaugh decides to pile on.
Democratic strategist Bob Shrum and the Huffington Post's Howard Fineman discuss the growing number of Republicans coming forward to criticize Michele Bachmann for attempting to associate Huma Abedin, deputy chief of staff and aide to Secretary Clinton, with the Muslim Brotherhood.

I'm sorry, I'm sorry I'm sorry, but you aren't paying attention to reality. The NRA has more power then you can fight. Yes, the NRA is the incarnation of Satan. They will destroy anyone in their way. That's how Satan works. Look at history, before the assault rifle ban went into effect in 1994, the sale of banned guns went up by 500%. If we try again, there will be two guns for every human in America instead of one.
Most gun violence is not mass murder. One person is killed every few minutes in this country by guns. We need to stop the underlying cause of most violence, that is "The War On Drugs." I lie awake nights, every time this kind of mass murder takes place. But, percentage wise, most people are killed one at a time.
Many of the people who own 5 semi auto guns or more, are at least a "little crazy." But if you try to take away their guns, you will find what crazy really is. I have two roommates (each owns more that 5 guns) I asked, "How many rounds of amo do you have?" They said, "It is mostly not here,(that is in my house) but we have at least 30,000 rounds" I know 5 or 6 other people that have more. These people will not be sane if you try to take away their guns.
I'm sorry. I really am. But, gun control has not worked. We would do much better to deal with a bad system called "The War On Drugs"
Chris Walker /small town philosopher
What do you mean gun control doesn't work, it worked fine until your stupid GOP leaders decided to start a war on drugs or didn't you notice that gun violence increased after 1980, oh and before you whine about gangs the gangs have been around a lot longer then your war on drugs.
Here we go again with the normal ignorance about how we got to here from there. Lets see little to no gun violence before the war on drugs to gun violence we see today after the war on drugs. Funny how by the time Reagan started his war on drugs crack cocaine use was decreasing after it increased as did the gun violence. Thus ends todays history lesson you can now go back to your John Wayne fantasies.
John Wayne called he wants you to know his movies are fantasies. Oh and the violence in cities like Chicago are drug related but leave it to you to not grasp the fact that the GOP war on drugs is what is behind the gun violence. Just like the good old Capone days. You have no facts you have superman fantasies based on wild west movies.
Poor xe always wrong and always will be wrong as well as shallow in his abilities to post a worthwhile thought. Typical re reg trying to put words into anothers post that they never said. Here is a clue, read very slowly so you can grasp the ideal presented in the post. Your tea bagging friend was talking about gun violence in the city of Chicago not Holmes. Holmes and the gun violence are unrelated except for it being a gun crime. Comparing apples to oranges at best. Gun violence in Chicago is caused by drug activities pertaining to protecting drug sales. Holmes on the other hand there is no reason for him shooting people, he has yet to say why he did what he did, so not the same issue.
Well xe then explain how Chicago gun violence directed at other drug dealers is the same as a delusional psychotic person going into a movie theater and killing people at random are related besides a gun was used. Lead us down that cesspool of tea bagged republican non-logic.
Re regs gee aren't they so special. Ed.

I will have to agree with our President on this matter, for now. We have professional profilers that may be able to spot these potential killers so we can act before they kill. But information like this is probable in the data base its just not being used. If we spend so much on location terrorist why not also pay this threat some mind too. We have tried to monitor guns leaving the US to Mexico because of crime we need to do this everywhere and when someone comes up with a RED FLAG it needs to be looked into with expedience.
And the re regs go marching on to more Fox news nonsense. Whens Mittens going to come clean on his tax lies. Boy talk about having nothing they prove it.
