HONORING THE VICTIMS OF THE TRAGEDY IN AURORA, COLORADO
BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
A PROCLAMATION
As a mark of respect for the victims of the senseless acts of violence perpetrated on July 20, 2012, in Aurora, Colorado, by the authority vested in me as President of the United States by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, I hereby order that the flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff at the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions until sunset, July 25, 2012. I also direct that the flag shall be flown at half-staff for the same length of time at all United States embassies, legations, consular offices, and other facilities abroad, including all military facilities and naval vessels and stations.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this twentieth day of July, in the year of our Lord two thousand twelve, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-seventh.

The best way to honor these massacre victims is to immediately reinstate the assault weapons ban all across America. We need to look at installing Canadian style firearms laws here in America. Gun shows need to be banned forever. Civilians need to be forbidden to own semiautomatic pistols with large ammunition clips or assault weapons like an M-16 or an AK-47. We need to stand up to the NRA and crush them like stepping on a cricket. We also need to open more mental health hospitals and have a robust social services safety net that catches people who need help so they can turn their life around. If we do not stand up to dangerous terrorist organizations like the NRA we will have more and more gun massacres in America.
Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom actually have governments that would not tolerate a terrorist organization like the ALEC sponsored NRA. Say anything you want to these three other English speaking countries all have strict gun control laws unique to their own countries. But the bottom line is that gun massacres happen all to often in America. We should keep mentally ill people in some type of supervised environment that helps them recover. These are all tough issues but we need to understand that tough things need to be done to eliminate our gun massacre culture. The Canadian approach to firearms is one that we should immediately do here in America. The problem is that our politicians are like sheep when we need strong leadership to crush the NRA once and for all. No one needs to own weapons of war and bring 3rd world gun massacres to our allegedly first world country called the United States. Canada does firearm policy the correct way. We Americans should learn from them because what we are doing here is not working worth a damn unless of course you are a drug gangster, sociopath, or part of a murder squad.

Rex~ Except that Toronto just had a similar massacre at a shopping mall Food Court a month or two ago. The girl named Jessica that was a reporter that was killed in this one, just missed getting killed in Toronto. She was sitting in the Food Court and a feeling came over her to get up and go outside. I'm a firm believer that God has a plan for all of us. It wasn't her time to go in Toronto, but it was last night. May all those who were killed rest in peace and those left behind find the strength to recover and carry on.
