Yes. Mitt Romney will make it to the convention without releasing his tax returns, but the problem is he will not win the election as the majority of Americans will not vote for him for doing that. Patriotism is a must for a candidate, Mitt R. has not shown that to the American people.

Romney knows he will make it to the convention without the tax returns because he already has the nomination, but he may not remain the nominee unless he releases more tax returns than any other politician.
The problem that is now occurring is that the public is starting to think Romney did something illegal or unethical, and that will be discovered if/when the tax returns become public.
It is already clear that the SEC filings don't match public statements made to the press. It is not yet clear whether or not Romney is another Dick Nixon.

the republicans of today used to be southern democrats or dixiecrats, and were for the continuation of segregation. when President Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act into law, he said, "i will lose the votes of the southern democrats", who all switched to the REPUBLICAN PARTY.
when i have read repub versions of the long history of slavery and civil rights in this country, the one thing that is consistently left out of the narrative, is the part where DEMOCRATS IN THE SOUTH MOVED TO THE REPUBLICAN PARTY when Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act into law, because they wanted segregation to continue. they purposefully leave this very important part of our history out.

So i think there should be a limit to money in off shore accounts and the IRS has to have something on him that should be easy to access. I feel Romney is money laundering. The President has very limited 'say' in how 'collected taxes' are spent. That is done by agencies that are controlled by Congressional Committees.

just to be clear. Congressional committees control NO agencies they only have oversight. All agencies are part of the executive branch and report directly to which ever cabinet officer their agency belongs to and all cabinet members report to the president. The President has the power to decide if money is to be spent or not just because it is appropriated does not mean that it will be spent. all appropriations give the power to decide what funds can be spent on to the agency or cabinet head. . Do you really think congress directed GSA to spend almost a million bucks on aq Vegas party? he also has the power to direct agencies. For example he has directed the justice department not to enforce the defense of marriage act. He has the power to do that even though congress passed the law. he can and does direct agencies through executive order.
I hope Romney sits on his hands until the convention.......this would be a great time for a 'brokered convention' to disrupt the GOP base. It is only illegal to file late if you owe money. Stupid but not illegal.
It is perfectly legal to file up to 36 months late if you own nothing or if the government owes you money. That is the equivalent of loaning money to the treasury.
The government will automatically file a return for you if you go past 36 months if you have income.

I like to know why emp has to hate either side of Obama. His white side, or his black side. Obama loved his white parents, and they loved him. His father didn't give him much of a background on how a father was suppose to behave did he. His mother and his Grandparents were his roll models. Otherwise, Obama worked though it himself.
Most of us see Obama as a thoughtful Human, and aren't concerned about any of his visual traits, just what comes from his heart. At least he has one, and knows what it is like to struggle and feel. www won't be learning anything about all that. He only counts money as important.
EO - Tohe way I look at it,Cacasion is a mixed race all by itself. Just like NEGRO,HISPANIC,PACIFIC ISLANDER,NATIVE AMERICAN,and ASIAN are pretty much mixed races. It's just that every race out there is broken down to 6 categories to make it easier for job applications.So there is no true race out there anymore no matter how you look at it.

When I was new to blogging, I misunderstood a fellow blogger's attempt to get the Liberals heated heads under control with a helpful suggestion for a cooling off period. I've been sorry for my response ever since, Busby. A fellow blogger should not have to deal with that. After taking care of family business today, I've been doing some thinking about behavior this afternoon....mine included. This is my one year anniversary with the privalige to be on the best blog on the web. It's my one and only. Have looked at others and thought "No, thanks. I'm staying home."
It's a good thing to be a community that stands *together*, safe to let their hair down a little while discussing what's happening, share some humor or a bit of music, post on issues that might offer a kernel of incite and wisdom as we navigate the world around us in day to day life, an aside on anything Ed presents for day or even to alerted by someone who is in crisis. It's all good !!
As frustrated and annoyed as I get at the trolls who come on here, I've noticed that the Liberals are getting just as bad as the r/tp's in another way....or even worse. Most all on here aren't offenders....you know who you are. As for the others they know who they are too if they really look and are honest about what they are doing.
Utterly Useless repeatative conversations and behavior with the sole intentions of declaring "Look at me! I'm so cool!"...."I'm the one who matters here."....not really contributing, but using as place to hang out....some people acting like alley cats in heat....it looks like spam and spam is yuk. All of it obnoxious and vulgar. It should not be part of the *political* blog experience, IMO. Chronically and mindless Voting this kind of crap up is encouraging a behavior that makes us look as classless, as clueless and just as nauseating as the r/tp sites. Again, my opinion and an observation. There are other websites for helps with self-esteem issues, assisting those on the prowl and veiled attempts at "dating"....so I've heard....that would better serve *all* posters' experience better. Self respect and boundaries matter when being around other people....which includes cyberspace. *Everyone* matters in this little crew that we love....not just ourselves.
E-mail is a good option and I encourage it....rather than sharing more personal things that are best kept behind closed doors. Maybe advertise your own website on Newsvine....I'm sure they would be happy to assist with that option.
There is much to learn from others who may not be "regulars" who seem to me to be ignored....maybe because they aren't our "Friend"....I don't know. I may not respond to everyone who addresses me except for maybe a click to let them know I was there. Other people need strokes too. That's just something I do rather than always throwing my 2 cents in unnecessarily *every* time. Sometimes silence is golden....even on the Vine. <s>
Just some thoughts about a little inventory that everyone who cares about an environment should do....not trying to be the EPA....or maybe I am. Take what you like and leave the rest. A little note to the trolls that plague this place so often....
The idea of being on a blog with 3 or 4 thousand bloggers or comments on one topic has no allure for me and probably others. Popularity contests are not the point here. We like the size just the way it is. You r/tp trolls can keep your critizisms about the participation on these blogs....just go somewhere else....we don't need you....trust me on that. We have good Conservative friends to fellowship with and challenge us on our views....all normal families have their spats. For trolls though....your rhetoric and participation is an exercise in futility. Get another hobby or a better way to make a living with a real job is what I would advise. We don't like sh!t dumped in *our* house....do you?
