i also love the fact that the Obama campaign/Obama is going after mitt romney the way repubs have gone after democrats. CASE IN POINT; John Kerry and his service to this country. just this morning i heard rush limbaugh complaining because he thinks that President Obama is "swiftboating" mitt romney.

i am slackjawed that they have the balls to complain about President Obama doing to mitt romney (sort of) the same thing that repubs did to John Kerry, to Bill Clinton, and countless other democrats.

i can't help but smile when they cry like little boys when democrats do the same thing to them that they have been doing to democrats for years. karl rove was crying the other night on fox news. the entitled and special mitt romney has been crying also.

President Obama has learned lessons well from the repubs for the past 3.5 years. he learned from repubs by trying over and over to compromise and get work done for the american people, and all they did was REPEATEDLY tell him "NO". he can either learn these lessons and use THEIR tactics against THEM by telling the truth, or he can continue to take the same $hit and lose the election.

Then how come in an interview with the Boston Globe in 2002, when he was being questioned as to whether he REALLY qualified for state residency to run for Governor of Massachusetts, he said he got back to the state regularly for holidays and Bain Board Meetings? 2002. He says whatever works best for him at the time, which means he's usually lying. Today they're saying he "retired retroactively" - I guess he found a tax loophole in the space-time continuum.

How ignorant can you guys be, plus Romney said he was coming back to meetings for Bain when he was challenged in 2002 about his residency when he was running for Governor, now which is it. He was not there when it's convenient for him to say he was working for Bain so he could run for Governor or now after it was found that Bain was outsourcing jobs. I think you're wrong. "Bain Capital" was actually not one company but a succession of investment funds. Those funds typically were set up as limited partnerships or LLCs. I think you will find that in each fund, Bain Capital, Inc. or Bain Capital, LLC, served as the general partner (in a limited partnership) or managing member (in an LLC). The limited partners or non-managing members, are the people or companies who are investing in the fund. Their involvement is passive--they supply money and they get a return. The general partner or managing partner, runs the investments and makes the decisions.

Often times, an investment group will serve both as the general partner and also invest as a limited partner, sometimes through a separate corporate entity. That is the outrage of the "hedge fund manager" tax loophole that allows the managers to be taxed at the 15% capital gain rate, simply because they are taking a cut from the passive investors, when it is supposedly their knowledge, experience, business acumen and actual labor, which generates the profits (i.e., they should be taxed as wage-earners, just like you and me.

It looks like maybe the SEC and Massachusetts regulatory documents were simply a lack of sloppy paperwork by Bain. But the documents identify Romney as President, CEO and Sole Owner (or Member if an LLC). I've been a business litigator for 25 years and I do not believe that the public documents satisfactorily answer these questions (and I have looked at them). I think the "fact checkers" are jumping to conclusions. I'd love to ask Romney, If you weren't President and CEO, who was? Looks to me like they didn't bother making the formal change for years. And he was still the sole owner. So tell me he wasn't communicating with the guys he left behind about what they were doing with his money. They take the list of what Obama said he would do and purposely and with vengeance have set out to deny him the ability to do every one of the things on your list of quotes from the right wing that twisted things Obama said. So when the righties drag their feet for months and months at a time, wasting $33 million a day and precious time by voting down the ACA 33 times and getting little or nothing accomplished for four years, it is by their own making that Obama decided not to wait FIVE days to enact the legislation the contraservatives have wasted 500 days trying to prevent. When Obama actually got into office and saw that Bushee left him a far bigger mess than was communicated to the public, and it took the President longer to clean it up than he thought, trying to blame Obama for taking longer to get us out of Iraq, actually kill bin Laden and bow out gracefully while improving our relationship with the world community, is using fancy hocus-pocus magical tricks of psychological misdirection and cognitive illusion straight out of the Penn & Teller handbook. The whole crux of cutting the deficit in half was raising the incremental tax rate by 4% on the TAXABLE PROFIT of more than a quarter of a MILLION dollars and investing in the country's workforce to fix roads and bridges, create jobs in alternative energy and invest in extending our information network to all areas of the country. The Congress has to raise the money to cut the deficit by investing in the middle class and letting us create a robust economy.

The government is NOT a profit center; it is NOT a business and we don't need a PROFITEER, corporate rapist/opportunist/raider to run the country. We don't have investors to put ahead of the needs of workers and middle class Americans.

But the contemporaneous Bain documents show that Romney was indeed telling the truth about no longer having operational input at Bain -- which, one should note, is different from no longer having legal or financial ties to the firm.

I agree 100%. The wealthiest people in this country have enjoyed the lowest taxes in history for the past 10 years. Now that they've had their fun and made their millions, it's time to get things back to normal.

Romney recently said "no more free stuff". I hope that includes subsidies to oil companies. According to Romney, if "Corporations are people too" then I hope we can do something about THEIR taxes as well!
