No its not part of their plan to help the common people. They need to keep the money for the 1% If they did they would have to break the Norquist pledge. Well the have said no new taxes but they only meant for people that aren't millionaires or billionaires!
Greed is a mental disorder. The greedy are never satisfied until they destroy anyone in their way from getting it all.
They will surely eat their own to get more and more wealth. God knows what will happen to the remaining rich when there is nothing more to gain.
No frigging way will Republicans / Radical Right-Wingers EVER do any thing for the middle class --- except possibly to undo this part of our society even more drastically !!
There should be a "Hell no!" on this question! They will NEVER do ANYTHING except obstruct Obama, the economy, and the American people.
They are on a mission. We won't be able to end that mission till November. Then we need to show these economic terrorists the door.
They will protect the 1%. Not the 98%.
Thankful Mom, your arithmatic a little is off. It is 99% verses the 1% OR it is the 2% verses the 98%.
Either way, the republicans are fine with sending America into the Feudal System of the 1200 to 1500's or so. The Black Plague ended the fuedal system with some 40% of the population dead.
47% of Congressman are multimillionaires. Do you really think they are going to pass a bill to return to the Bill Clinton Era Tax rates? That would be a HE// NO!!! Why do you think the votes in the Senate are 53-47?
No, they will not help middle class, and will do anything to help rich fat cats. Today, I was listening to that hateful Hannity and Limbo and they both were crying. Limbo said that he is going to tighten down because of tax! Millions are not enough for him, and he thinks couple of percent increase will put him in poor house? Get a life fat idiot! (Al Franken had written book about that).
Even though republicans are directly responsible for OWS and the 99%, quite a few people from those groups are suffering from some kind of mental illness that is causing quite a few in those groups to vote for the people that created the problem.
I agree. They are in too deep with the top 1% to 15% of the population. Now they have to comply with their demands. They don't even know what the middle class is going through. They don't know what it is to be constantly afraid of losing your job or not to have enough money for prescriptions or health insurance. Too many in the middle class are in a bind. Between car maintenance, home maintenance and medical/dental bills, & wages as they are now it is almost impossible. And the point is that the middle class are the ones who are working for less salaries so the top 15% keep their financial status. The working poor is in a worst situation. It is just sad and a shame.
There is no way in hell they will work with Obama on this. They will hold this nation hostage and be dammed the middle class UNLESS! They get tax cuts for the rich and continue the gravy train for the billionaires and millionaires.
Romney is so unworthy to lead this nation ! He can look at the American people and smile with lie after lie! If you were the many across this nation who had Romney and Bain take your job, and pension why on earth would anyone give him the right to do anything as President!
Come on Ed, is this a trick question? No way, no how and never will the Republicans do anything that could benefit anybody but their wealthy puppet masters.
Maybe we should have an old fashioned tea party and throw BMWs and Hummers into the bay!
Hey Pam--Missed You--You are so right. The Republicans will pull the Hostage Rabbit back out of the Hat--No Tax Break for the Middle Class, Unless The Rich has theirs too.
NO, NO, NO, and NO some more. Grover's Puppets will never help the middle class, Their only concern is the RICHEST of the RICH!
***
Ed you lose me every time I ever see Ron Christies cock eyes.I turn from you brother until that chicken picking buzzard is off the show. He's worst then Michael Steele.
Rachael, Its good to be back. I have found with being on FB and here the divide in this nation is so great. The hateful rhetoric and the TP is awful. I really told some one the other day about respect and our president. The cartoons, pictures make me sick! There is a wall in Washington and its one one side the wealthy and the other side the middle class and poor. I can tell you a poor man will do what he can for anyone. But a person of wealth will often bulk at the thought of sitting at the same table. There is the haves and the have nots and as far as they are concerned nothing in between.
That's the look a person has when he's been infected by --"THE RABID FOXX DISEASE!
Which party first introduced the lower tax rates for the 98%? I will give you a clue....it wasn't the Democrats...
just saying....
Will the rich biches ever help the "common people"? Hell will freeze over first. They are not interested in us plain folk. If it weren't for us plain folk they would be standing with their tophat held out begging for a dime. Well, Mutt wouldn't-- he was born with a silver baby bottle in his mouth. Now he and his queer friends have their feet in their mouths.
The world would be a better place without Mutt and the likes of him and his family. We need to put a combat boot crosswise where he would feel it!
Hi Pam! Long time no see. lol
America must wake up. We can beat the $$$$. We have to try.
Thomas Jefferson
We don't have to be swallowed up by the wealthy facists. We can beat them if we try.
It's time to wake up Amerca!! Wake up!!!!
Of course the Repugs won't extend tax cuts for the middle class alone, unless they can give even bigger tax cuts for the rich at the same time. They know that they can't justify those huge tax cuts for the rich by themselves... since the rich don't really need any tax cuts and certainly are NOT CREATING JOBS. So they need to be able to hide those tax cuts for the rich in a bill for much smaller tax cut for the middle class.... to disguise them as something worthwhile.
Repugs are CAPITALIST SWINDLERS OF THE 1% AND ROBME IS THE HEAD CAPITALIST SWINDLER.... running for President of the CAPITALIST SWINDLERS AND THE 1%.
Hi Scully,
Republicans voted to borrow money from China so they could reduce taxes on the wealthy.
It doesn't get any more corrupt than that.
Henry Ford was the only rich person I have ever heard of that realized that without a middle class that is paid decently, there would be no customers for his product! Doesn't take a genius but it does take someone who is willing to give up something to get even more! Today's billionaires/millionaires are too greedy and incapable of thinking to realize that without us, they will go down the drain!
@Chuck
Well... the unselfish Democratic multimillionaire Congressional representatives are willing to pass that bill to go back to the Clinton tax rates. In fact, I believe they did during Speaker Pelosi's (one of those unselfish multimillionaires) House in the last Congress.
But the SELFISH AND GREEDY Repugs wouldn't let that bill go through until the Bush tax cuts for the millionaires were extended... and they even held the middle class and specifically the unemployed hostage until they got their way. Oh yeah... and that was just before the Christmas holidays of 2010. Talk about heartless!
@Crackhead
You are correct... and by in large that mental illness is caused or made worse by their watching the NO NEWS on the FOX NETWORK. Sham Hannity, Pinhead O'Really and Lush Limpbrain should all come with a warning label:
Listening or viewing this idiot will most definitely cause mental illness and brain damage. View/listen at your own peril!
@Pam
I agree.... the Repugs won't agree to the tax cuts Obama wants and they aren't concerned about the 98% who will struggle the most if tax rates going up. But I think this is exactly what will be needed to get the Repugs to agree to any kind of real tax reforms.
They simply want to keep extending the Bush tax cuts, because those rates favor the rich (allowing them to get richer and richer) and also helps them bleed the government dry and driving up the deficit so they can continue to justify cutting programs for the poor and the middle class.
It was an interesting discussion at the beginning of Lawrence O's show tonight. About how letting the Bush tax cuts expire will help the Democrats force the Repugs into making some real reforms to the tax policies, like getting rid of the loopholes that benefit only the rich, etc.
Provided the Dems stand tough and don't cave into agreeing to new tax cuts for the rich... and insist on only cutting taxes in the lowest 4 tax brackets. Finally the Dems will be in a position to show the Repugs for what they are... only being concerned about the tax cuts for the rich.... not that it hasn't been obvious to most of us for decades.
@Simpson
I know what you mean, I hate Ron Christie as much as I hate Chris Christie. They are brothers of another mother.... mean, nasty and liars both.
@Stormguy53, RE: (Comment #1.17)
I presume you're referring to the GOP, during the Reagan Administration, but that also coincided with the irrational push for Supply-Side Economics (aka Voodoo Economics, also aka Trickle-Down Economics), which never worked the right way.
Any trickle was up, not down. Moreover, far too often, it wasn't a trickle but a flood, as in Flood-Up Economics, which started a real inequity in income distribution, temporarily ameliorated during the Clinton years, which led to a since-squandered budget surplus, due to tax increases combined with spending cuts.
If only Glass-Steagall hadn't been repealed during Clinton's 2nd term as President, the severity of the housing-bubble popping would not have been anywhere near as damaging as it turned out to be, because there would not have been such a multitude of unaffordable mortgages doomed to end up in foreclosure. Nor would TARP have ever been necessary, for banks Too Big to Fail would never have existed.
@Carol from Orlando, RE: (Comment #1.22)
The stupid thing about it, is that the greed prevents a wiser way forward, by delaying gratification, per se, allowing for more equitable income distribution, an overwhelming majority of the 98% will have sufficient discretionary income to generate the demand that will compel business owners to hire more employees, so more product can be made, to satisfy the increased demand. Otherwise, the customers will be compelled to look elsewhere, to another business that does react to the increased demand.
To rephrase in simpler terms, Delayed Gratification by the wealthy stokes demand from a wealthy-enough Middle Class, which is a feedback loop that is necessary for a healthy demand-driven market economy, and the top 1% will still get wealthier. In the long run, slower wealth accumulation at the top allows for greater wealth accumulation at the top because the amount of capital in the market is increasing. In a game-theoretic sense, that is plus-plus, where both seller and purchaser win.
To the contrary, Trickle-Down (Supply-Side) Economics is a zero sum game at best, with sellers winning and purchasers losing. Currently though, with all the capital extraction on the part of Wall Street, we're in a lose-lose game, where both parties lose.
@All
What Obama wants, with shared-sacrifice, with the same rules for everybody, will get us back to a growing economy with an accumulation of capital, back to plus-plus, which a market economy must be to remain healthy.
What Romney wants is the same as Bush-43, except on steroids, as Bill Clinton so appropriately stated.
Given that the average American still hasn't recovered from the Great Recession, if Romney gets elected, and has a cooperative Congress, there will be an unavoidable double-dip into the 2nd Great Depression. If the Eurozone were in good financial shape, and if the economies of China, India, and Brazil weren't shrinking, a Romney as President situation wouldn't be so scary. RNC Chairman Reince Preibus has it backwards. Obama must be reelected if the USA is to avoid disaster.
Cosmic Chuck: Don't forget "mainstreaming" of the institutionalized on Reagan's
watch. .
@Carol
Actually... there are a number of millionaires currently living in this strange day and age who also believe and know the same truths that Henry Ford did, such as Warren Buffett and Nick Hanauer.
Nick even had the nerve to give a speech at the TED convention of rich guys about just that called "the middle class are the job creators.... and boy did it piss them off!
Here is a favorite clip of Lawrence O talking to Nick about the commotion he caused.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovsr9hkfCZY&feature=related
He also pissed off this guy on Fox, who continually interrupted him, and did his best to distract from what Nick was saying and show a bunch of idiot graphs that made absolutely NO sense:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-5vQdzEzUc&feature=related
Then this is a really great discussion on the Dylan Ratigan show... the discussion is much more informative than the Fox idiot shouting him down.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&feature=endscreen&v=sTG7RHXnUMM
Will we continue to pay benefits to Republicans for not working, period?
Republicans don't care about the middle class they are for the rich period
They are for themselves. Believe me they will turn against each other sooner or later.
I agree with you on that
Steve, If Romney's super pacs buy him the election, how far will he have to bend over for the policies the Koch Brothers want him to put in place? What will that do to the economy? We know his tax policies to keep the wealthy wealthier will raise the deficit by trillions.
The Koch brothers funded and invented the T-Party. Romney will do some serious bending over.
I was reading Ayn Rand again and I can tell you her wording is just what the GOP is preaching. For her the working poor is nothing. Egoism and greed is good. Her way of saying that man only owes to himself is almost evil. I compare it to the movie "The Devil's Advocate", the character is totally evil.
She speaks about the pursuit of happiness in the same way GOP speaks. Only the wealthy has that right. The poor and working poor even thought they have the same right the policies stifle their destiny, by implementing minimum wage that is impossible to live with, and keeping prices of goods and services high. Investments are an impossibility for the middle class and the working poor. It looks like they top 6% who are the industries' leaders want to pay just enough to live, not to save, or invest or have a decent retirement.
Wages and salaries have gone down 40% in 10 years and that is due to de-regulation during the Bush adm. Outsourcing has created a big problem for all Americans in the lower strata.
Once people grow wealthy, their thinking switches to one of two modes.
The philanthropists, like Carnegie and Roosevelt, used their wealth to increase the wealth of everyone in the United States from the 1930s through the 1990s.
Predators, like William Randolph Hearst the Koch brothers, have used wealth to undermine the economy and destroy wealth.
Wealthy republican predators have begun to use campaign contributions as a form of predatory investment intended to cheat the public into voting to make them wealthier by stealing more money in the form of tax avoidance to redistribute wealth.
Philanthropists do not have their act together this year, otherwise they would be using campaign contributions to explain what the predators are doing.
India, i so agree with you. Its as if the conspiracy theory Plebus talks about was created by them, for them. 236 years this country has had its up and downs, but never have they been bought and payed for by those who have allot to gain. More money has been wasted on one person than we can dream of. These men could of created jobs ! He could buy his own election and still have plenty of money! There in one word a disgrace to this nation and freedom !
So this is what so many Americans gave there lives for in the fight for freedom so that the Richest could desecrate their graves and turn our Democracy into an Aristocracy,oh i can here it now Let them eat cake.
Hi Afrommi,
Correct.
How funny is it that the republican economic plan is based on fiction written by an atheist and a communist?
The Romney/Ryan Contract on America matches the general theme of The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged.
Hi Simpson!!
Here's a man who figured out what the score is:
Major General Smedley Darlington Butler
I like when in Dances with Wolves the soldier said something like "Let the generals play a little high stakes poker and we can all go home".
Sending *our* children to war with no vested interest in the outcome should be a crime. Blood shed for special interests is plain and simply wrong.
Hi Kathe,
That is the greatest truth I've ever heard in my life.
Hey kathe/Tacoma,,Love Love Love Your rebuttal,I have emphasised that point many times as a Republican from the working class. Its time for the foolishness to end Old War like Men starting wars for Young Men to die in.That isn't love of Country that is disdain for the people that fight in those wars. Those people come from Middle America they don't come from the elite, their money gets them out of it Romney and his sons are perfect examples. For them to wave our Flag is blasphemous, and any working class Republican that can't see that has sent their own child off to fight,to be changed for ever or die in the Rich man's War,for party ideology.
India LeCarre Romney will have to bend way down for the koch brothers
Steve, He'll be saying, "Koch a doodle doo" as he bends over.
They'll put the fear of God into him. He'll be crowing on a regular basis. Then the other billionaires will be after their piece of him and he'll be spinning like a top. As the saying goes, he won't know whether to #$## or fly.
Good thing he's a severe conservative, moderate, liberal, Libertarian Republican. It gave him practice for the fun to come.
No. Repubs does not want tax cuts for the middle class or poor Americans. They only want tax cuts for the rich 2% ers, who are willing to pay more taxes. This is treason by repubs and they owe an explanation to American citizens for this behavior. They are trying to make President Obama a one term president but they know that they are hurting more to Americans. They will not vote for Repubs in 2012.
No Way !! The RHYPOCRITS are for THEMSELVES ONLY !!! +PLUS+ Not ONLY do the REPULSICONS want the TAX BREAKS ~ They ALSO WILL NOT PAY FOR THEM EITHER !!! WE99% ARE SUPPOSED TO PAY FOR THEM !!!!!
It was a MISTAKE in 2010 !!!! BRING BACK the HOUSE And The SENATE to FILIBUSTER PROOF NUMBERS 60+ !!!!!! OCCUPY the VOTE !!! DEMS2012 !!
Wealthy republicans are using campaign donations to trick voters into choosing politicians that will use taxes to redistribute wealth upward to make wealthier people more wealthy by confiscating more taxes from the poor and middle class that we need for basic rights like equal education access.
A $billion$ sitting in a bank vault creates no jobs, so the idea of trickle down economics is a trick because the wealthy are not job creators.
Sen, #3, The biggest lie the Republicans from Romney to Boehner tell daily is the one about the upper 2% being the "JOB CREATORS".
Any reputable economist will tell you that it is the middle class which is the engine of growth. When the middle class has money to spend, demand goes up, and the suppliers of that demand get busy making what they are demanding. This creates jobs. Tax breaks for the wealthy only make them wealthier. Tax breaks for the middle class creates demand which makes jobs!
No one knows this better than the upper 2% like Romney. Yet they continue to tell the biggest lie ever conceived by the GOP.
Why, They want to get wealthier and pay fewer taxes! They are busy feathering their nests. They are not remotely interested in the middle class. We can all drop dead for all they care.
If Romney wins, his taxes will go down from 15%. Ours, especially the poor, will go UP! Nice policy!
You don't have to be Steven Hawking to figure out that they're NEVER going to fight for the tax break for the middle and lower middle classes. They will never pass that bill for Obama. NEVER.
Is there a VIP entrance? We are VIPs. That means "WE ARE VERY IGNORANT PERSONS".
LOL
"hey stupid "
great way to start off a conversation, in a loosen position.
must be part of the right/wrong wing S.T.U.P.I.D program.
SpamTrolls Totally United Promoting Ignorant Deceptions
@ India 3.3 : I agree with you fully. I have a great suggestion for Mitt Romney that he should get out of politics and build many manufacturing industries in America. That will provide jobs for Americans; will bring our economy up; and will bring lots of $$$$$$ in his pocket that he dearly loves.
In the mean time let us reelect President Obama and take care of the poors, seniors, disabled, veterans, middle class, students, women, minorities and others and continue to keep America to be the greatest country for humanities and human rights in the world.
Will the pope convert to Judaism?
As soon as he @!$%#s in the woods.
Good one Jack Flash.
If I had $10,000 to bet, I'd put in all on NO.
If you HAD $10,000 to BET , I`D SAY YOUR A REPULSICON !!!!!!!
Who cares!!! dumb left wing poll...
where are the jobs!!!!!!!!!!
VOTE NObama 2012!!!!!!
get lost clown its your republican party fault that there is no jobs idiot
Ask Boehner where the jobs are. He campaigned on it. Don't you consider show trials and abortion bills job-creation? The GOP does.
Troll alert! A very bitter troll who is afraid of the truth. b113 won't admit he or she will be left behind by his or her own party.
Good question since corporations are raking in record profits and the republicans refuse to sign the President's Jobs bill.
That's where the jobs are...just waiting for us to get rid of the DO NOTHING Republican House of Corporate Criminals.
2 trillion in offshore bank accounts.
b113 is expecting a free ride on Romney's new elevator. Hold on tight!
Hey, B113 , I care. I always wonder if there are any middle class republicans! They all can't be filthy rich!
where are the jobs!!!!!!!!!! Right where Mitt and the Koch brothers want them. China, Mexico, Ireland, Taiwan, Philippines, India. Anywhere but the United States.
Mac-They're just filthy.
once again ~ no examples of anything wrong by democrats !!! amazing there are non-rich republicons !! that will vote - against themselves and their families !! just so they can pretend they are rich !!!!
if your not for the koch states of koch america !! or foreign co`s running our country - then vote democrat !!! non filibuster proof 60+ house dems and senate dems !!!!! obama2012 !!!!!
@b113,
U R Funny!!! Does your job involve clown face paint?
Obama added more jobs in 1 year than Bush added in 8 years.
The Romney/Ryan Contract on America says to do the same things Bush did.
Bush lost 913,000 private sector jobs in his first term in office, but he had no unemployment problem because Bush added 900,000 new government jobs.
Republicans in the House of Representatives defunded 607,000 government jobs since Obama took office (Bohner/Cantor).
The Patriot Act and conservative polices to deny drivers licenses to immigrants is responsible for a population decline of 3 million immigrants that provided enough consumer demand to employe 2.5 million US citizens.
thats what you right wingers were going to do: balance the budget by cutting taxes and create jobs by introducing the transvaginal probe.
Where can I find a bumper sticker like that?
Hi CA !!
Reagan, H.W. and Jr. took care of their recession woes by increasing public sector jobs.
GOP 101 Economics
So much for starving the beast. Hahaha!
Hi Kathe,
True that. Raided Social Security trust fund to balance the budget and create jobs.
@b113 you just don't get it.Look at the money interest involved, the redistribution of wealth has been going on since Reagan was Elected. It was called Reaganomics, when America was introduced to trickle down, now get a grasp of that elusive word (trickle). You ever had a leaking faucet in your house?Do you think everyone there would willing wait patiently for a glass of water, well that's what you're saying you agree too;a drop here and there. You are defending the Right of People that have a reported 2'6 trillion dollars of shore that they refuse to repatriate because of taxes from shipping jobs over seas, and the guess what the tax breaks that they are seekiing after they want you and the rest of us hoop dee drivers to pay for it with our rates Higher and theirs Lowered. Is any of this getting through to you yet.
Mac, I personally know some middle class people who are not the smartest on the earth as they actually believe the repukes BS! These are the people who get only the FOX channel on their TV's!
Redistribution of wealth has been going on since 1913 via central banking.
Yet there is no action to reform the tax code that allows this to be legal coming from either side. Obama keeps promising it's going to happen but it never does
http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/obamas-record-on-outsourcing-draws-criticism-from-the-left/2012/07/09/gJQAljJCZW_story.html
The above story is a must read. Even the left is not happy with Obama's record on outsourcing, and this article sites that he's done far too little to improve US trade.
Look, another poster (whomitmay) made a very interesting point earlier when we were discussing job creation on another thread. Manufacturing here in the states was replaced by service jobs, and many of those are disproportionately low-paying in comparison to manufacturing. I think I agree with his statement to some degree, but the big question is, how do we get it back?
I can’t help but call out the hypocrisy of the Obama Administration for blasting Romney in public while secretly (and I mean very secretly) holding closed-door meetings with 600 corporate advisors to write another free trade agreement, the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), that will result in more off shoring and outsourcing of U.S. jobs. TPP is expected to be the largest and worst free trade agreement in global history.
So while it's pretty easy to blame the guy who profits from outsourcing (Romney,) some of the blame must be put on the guy who writes the laws that expand and accelerate the outsourcing of US jobs (Obama.)
Creating good jobs in America means we need to come up with some trade rules that reward American companies for keeping jobs in America.
Hey Chi:
We all should be researching, watching and writing to the WH and representatives about this Trans-Pacific Partnership meeting. There's more to lose than just not getting manufacturing jobs. This is serious "stuff" and I don't want us getting an even shorter end of the stick than ever before.
It also makes me ill to think Norquist would be handing bills and pens to Willard to blindly sign. "Da yup. Ya need that signed too? Okeedokee!"
FORWARD with Obama/Biden !!!!
NO. Let me repeat myself...a message from the past. Repubs never change...
"Republicans approve of the American farmer, but they are willing to help him go broke. They stand four-square for the American home--but not for housing. They are strong for labor--but they are stronger for restricting labor's rights. They favor minimum wage--the smaller the minimum wage the better. They endorse educational opportunity for all--but they won't spend money for teachers or for schools. They think modern medical care and hospitals are fine--for people who can afford them. They consider electrical power a great blessing--but only when the private power companies get their rake-off. They think American standard of living is a fine thing--so long as it doesn't spread to all the people. And they admire of Government of the United States so much that they would like to buy it."
--Harry S. Truman
"Suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a Republican. But I repeat myself."
--Harry S. Truman
I'm old enough to remember when there were some remarkable Republicans until the racist southern democrats took over when LBJ signed the voter rights bill into law.
Yeah it changed and then those racist southern democrats pushed out the good people who were the old time Republicans.
Now it's just gop.
Judy--Yes, I remember some old time Republicans as well. Senator Everett Dirksen was a good guy.
Yes, the racists in the south changed parties to suit their bigotry.
Too sad.
So do I,it was a time when Blacks over whelmingly voted Republican. That was when a Black Republican by the name of Martin Luther King was able to make inroads with a Democratic President.Oh sure the Democratic Party Started the Klan, but suddenly the Democrats where doing things to improve their lives. No group of people are stupid as even if they are portrayed that way Lincoln freed the slaves and by the time WWII was over so was a lot of Black America's Patients,It cost JFK,RFK, Dr.King and many others their lives,in the Process Dixiecrat's became Republicans. The Racial Supremacist Changed Parties and Johnson who was from Texas and Knew the South as Good as any Southerner said very profoundly we have lost the South to the Republican Party for the next 50 years because of the works do to allow the disenfranchised a seat at the table.
Nancebell, #7 That was just great!
when doing what is right, those on the right will do what is wrong for those the need help the most.
They may throw us some crumbs, like minimum wage jobs, but the wealthy right wingers are arrogant and clueless as they were in France before the French Revolution, and Russia before their revolution.
I hope it won't come to this, but America may have another war on this land between the haves and the have nots.
I really hope I'm wrong and it will not come to bloodshed.
Who's been buying - and selling - the guns?
I don't believe I'm paranoid but just think about it.
Judy--what the wealthy don't get is that if Republicans continue to enrich the rich and strip bare the middle class, sooner or later, those middle class folks who slip into desperation and poverty will be coming to the doors of the wealthy to get what they need to survive and it won't be pretty. Hungry desperate people will do what they have to to survive.
The first part of the question makes me laugh, Republicans work! Ha ha ha ha ha! That's a good one! Their definition of work is fleecing the taxpayer! If your bloods not blue their not in it for you!
American Rights at Work/Petitions
http://www.americanrightsatwork.org/take-action/campaigns/
Thanks for all the petitions, I just signed them all.
Hi xxx!!
The second part is pretty funny too. Grover and his gaggle of goons need to be ousted if this Country has any chance of recovery. Will we submit or fight for our individual Rights that the elite have a mind to take?
Thomas Jefferson
WOW cool!
Kathe Hi did he just write that?
Smart Alec, xxx. <s>
What was all the drama last year and now Pelosi breaking ranks? Personally I think the cap for middle class income should be $100K. That's plenty when considering that the average income is nearly half of that. Yet the "right" tries to say that $50K is enough.
Don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining! These puppets and trolls are really getting on my nerves.
Ha ha Kathe it fits like a glove though..And that is the only kind of warm feeling you will ever get from them!
Hahaha, xxx, no kidding! I reserve my Right to my privacy!
Hi Kathe, If I hear this lie again about the job creators being the upper 2%, I will go tharn.
How dare they come out and continue to try to get people to believe this lie?
It has always been demand from the middle class which creates the engine which creates the jobs. This is not rocket science!
According to the Progress Report You’re Being
Held Hostage Please check out
the Think Progress online at:

Here’s three reasons why it’s time to say enough is enough and
let these wasteful giveaways to the wealthy expire once and for all:
promoting economic growth, the Bush tax cuts ushered in the worst job
growth in decades. They didn’t create jobs then and they won’t create jobs
now. Period.
cuts, along with two wars, blew a giant hole in the deficit, turning
record surpluses into record deficits. We could never afford these
giveaways to the wealthy, but we definitely
can’t afford them now. Giving away hundreds of millions of dollars more to
those who don’t need it just means that instead we’ll have to cut
Medicare, Social Security, and programs that benefit the middle class each
and every day.
have been stuck in neutral (or worse) for the last decade. By contrast,
the wealthiest Americans are getting wealthier and income inequality has
reached levels not seen since before the Great Depression. The wealthy are
doing just fine and don’t need a handout paid for by the rest of us.
I added the website but it did not go through on my comment.
Wait just one minute! The top 1% are saying that they want LESS GOVERNMENT, yet they are continuing to receive these hugh tax cuts at the expense of the people/the government. Who are they kidding? The government is making them richer. So this smaller government stuff they are talking about is hogwash!!!!!
Do they think we, as they call us, "...the common people" fell off a turnip truck???????

Also for those who didn't get to read this...a scary revelation on what strategies the Republicans are using in their quest to fool the American people and take over the country for their corporate, wealthy collaborators. This is NO coincidence!
“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” -- Josef Goebbels, Minister of Propaganda, Nazi Germany
“The most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly - it must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over.” -- Josef Goebbels, Minister of Propaganda, Nazi Germany
Right on Nancebelle, I've been saying the rep's are the Nazi party forever.
Dawn--I just hope people wake up to this. So many people ignore history and it is to their own peril because it seems there are only so many ideas and those who seek power, money and control will use anything to get what they want.
Out with ALL Republicans!
Hi Nancebelle!
The Rothchild banksters have been the bain of this Nation since before it's birth. They have been seeking world power and will never cease to acheive their goals. They are in every thing every where.
Amschel Rothschild
Tear up the laws that strip us of our Liberties over the last 40 years. It *is* time to wake up. As our Founders said we deserve nothing when we are fearful. That's what the "right" feeds their minions and they fall for hit to this day.
Amschel Rothschild funded Nazi Germany extermination of Jews during WW II.
Amschel Rothschild was jewish.
Yes, CA. The Rothschild's are Jewish by birth. Money and power are their gods.
I think this is kind of a trick question...they know they'd be crazy not to extend for the 98%. Can you image public bug out if they don't? It's NOT ABOUT the 98% extension...they will be trying everything and anything to extend for the so-called "job creators" too. Of course they will extend for the 98%, but not without a lot of stalling and the usual right wing crap. Just MHO.
And how did bush2 did? Our jobs went to China and then we lost our homes and now they want to take away any kind of help that would keep us alive.
These gop are not smart, they aren't really thinking about the future of this country, just the future of their party.
They are loyalist, not patriots. Party first and second and always.
Can you image public bug out if they don't? They are hoping that the 98% will do what they have been doing since Mitt Romney started running for President 6 years ago and the TeaPublicans took over the House three years ago. Just sit back and take it. No demonstrations, no work stoppages. Could you imagine if everyone who has been or will be effected by the desires of the Republican Party, walked off work? The Republicans would be demanding that the Military quell the demonstrations.
Hell no the REPUKES won't do anything good for anybody.
YOU TELL'EM ----Billie
Evening Rachael and Billie. Hope every thing is well. Why did you send your heat wave out here?
Hey Larry--thought you could use a little bit of heat up there, It was cooler here today: Welcome to my WORLD!
Aren't we just too tired of talking about these crack pots?..... they are just plain living in their own little tiny world.
I love Obama! He is so sane.
Hey TM--I Love Obama too--Smartest Man in Politics--OHH YEA!
No they will hold it hostage and try to get all of the cuts extended. They only care about the 1%, God forbid they pay a little more they wont be able to afford..... oh wait they will still be able to buy the world so what's all the hubbub about?
The republicans will not vote for tax breaks for anyone unless it includes their precious millionaire and billionaire friends.
Republicans want the extension for all Americans including the 900,000 small business owners that this tax hike will affect. this tax hike will raise the small business owner taxes 120,000 dollars a year on average that is the cost of two to four employees salary that is 1.8 to 3.6 million jobs that this tax hike could cost America
So is Obama holding the unemployed hostage so he can wage his class warfare
Bull.
Wow TRFjr, sadly I believe you believe that. Turn off fnc, look at the public records for the facts.
When bush2 was in office and the gop took over all three branches of our government regulations went out the window. Jobs went to third world countries and unemployment went way up often by the hundreds of thousands each month.
Just what kind of jobs do you think the gop will "create" for you?
Minimum wage just like romney did when he destroyed Bain and other businesses he took over. You've got a lot to learn about greedy people, and many of the upper 1% are greedy people, they are gop.
Mark my words.
I hate to inform you that the information i used didn't come from Fox news it came from a left leaning news organization not as left a MSNBC but left enough ABC news
trf. Only 3% of "small" business will get their taxes increased. But hell, don't let facts get in the way of you BS.
and 3% adds up to over 900,000 small businesses
and think those small company's like Bechtel and Halliburton fall into that three percent.
@TRFjr,
Obama wants to cut the corporate tax rate on businesses from 35% to 28% and republicans are fighting against that tax cut because business would use that money to create jobs (click here).
Obama wants to cut personal tax rate for poor and middle class to stimulate consumer demand.
What are you talking about?
18 $trillion$ sitting in bank vaults never created a single job. Those are the taxes Obama wants to raise.
That is why the king of offshore banking, tax shelters, and pension fraud is running for president.
Better to let the entire Bush tax expire than to give the wealthy more tax cuts. Those tax cuts are bankrupting our country. I don't get the $400 making work pay credit anymore and it was a real help to me.
Those who want the tax cuts for those Making $250,000 a year or more are either ignorant or greedy.
Why not both?
After getting scr*w*d by the gop we deserve the tax cuts.
I would LIKE the $400 making work pay credit. The tax cuts for those making $250,000 or less, I am OK with.
It is a matter of those on the upper income scale to pay their fair share. They are doing well financially and they can AFFORD to pay more.
Rush Limpballs makes $50 million a year and he can certainly afford to pay a higher tax rate.
They do not care about people neither does old laundering Mitt.
Does Willard eat cookies that aren't tailor made? HELL NO!
Mitt doesn't eat cookies. He eats crumpets.
What's a donnut? lol
He eats crumpets made by those people who don't know how to vote because they don't understand.
Thats a do do nut, larry.
