Let's see how the Republicans like their own tactics used on them. Give the middle class and the poor what they want immediately, and then we'll "revisit" the tax breaks for the wealthy at a later date. We'll appoint a "task force" to discuss it. Appoint a committee. Then we'll table it. And come back to it at a more convenient time.
It's called "trickle-up" economics. It'll kick in for the wealthy in about 30 years or so. Maybe. We'll just have to stay the course.

the GOP wants the bush tax cuts to be permanent for everyone. Not just the one percent-ers that you seem to hate. Why should someone that has worked hard, studied and received the education to become successfull be required to give away more of his hard earned income to the government to gives away to those that have not worked for it? this tax hike on small business that make over 250,000 dollars will effect 900,000 businesses. Reince Preibus and Sarah Pallin both said the same thing about America if President Obama is re-elected,the country will not be the same. Its not the same now. we have Republican Governors who are disenfranchising people and their ablity to vote, cutting education so our childrens will not get a proper education and transporation funding so people can get to work and a republican Congress who would rather vote on repeal a Heathe care bill that will help 30 million uninsured people instead of passing a measure that is agreed upon with BOTH parties to continue with the Bush tax cuts for the middle class and settle the tax on the rich until after the election. Our freedoms and the ability to live what was called the American dream is dying. They have created a nightmare.
The American dream has in many ways been dying since the end of the 1973 Yom Kippur war and the Arab oil embargo of the 1970's. Europe took these oil lessons to heart and most European countries drastically reduce their oil consumption by more mass transit and a large scale adoption of energy conservation measures. The GOP in America is the embodiment of a corporatist plutocracy. There are those of us who think the American fossil fuel status quo is completely unsustainable. We do this for good reason. I can not speak for all veterans but polling data suggests that about 70% of veterans of the Iraq, Afghanistan, and Persian Gulf wars strongly believe that the U.S. needs a major push to get off of imported OPEC oil. We will spend $4 trillion long term on Iraq and Afghanistan and suffered 50,000 casualties. We need an Apollo energy program but Big oil and gas companies stand in the way with a vice like grip over our government. So the same wars for energy will just continue with more names of veterans carved on marble walls caused by future wars for oil supply lines that could have been avoided just like the Persian Gulf war, the Iraq war, and Afghanistan wars could have been avoided had we headed the lessons of the 1970's.
Big oil embodies all that is wrong with American society. Multinational oil companies are stronger than state governments and are darn near on par with the federal government. Plutocrats only care about maintaining their iron fist control over America. The biggest problem with such societies is that they tend to ossify. The dynamics necessary to build new products, start new small businesses, and foster innovation seems to get crushed by those who are fat and happy with the status quo. Plutocrats will keep our economy on oil so we can fight the next trillion dollar war down to the last American soldier and the last $200 barrel of oil.
The answer is no and neither will Obama. Look at all the taxes in the health care law thats going to nail the middle class. The middle class is getting hammered by Obama anf the repuks. Only sombody who has not looked at the health care law and read it would think the middle class is not getting shafted by Obama. On the bright if you have preexisting condition you can get health insurance or if you have a 26 old child that still lives at home they will be covered. What amases me is some people like Ed actualy believe Obama when he lied and said nobody would get their taxes increased.
