NO =They Will NOT Stop Using ANYTHING as a Political Ploy = NOTHING !!!!! They Will Continue Throwing Their Childish Tantrums On ANY And Every Subject - as long as They Get Their Way !!!!!!
Hey Repubs / Teabaggers ----------------- Lolli-Pops ?????? And Tissues ?????
Republicans don't care if what they say is true, just as long as it is effective as red meat to the right wing.
I said, "Yes", because I figured they'd have to be aware by now that neither Obama nor the Keystone pipeline had anything to do with the world market set gas prices! I mean, you can't live in DC and not know that!
That was probably the wrong answer. It was the truth. I forgot for a minute that Republicans avoid the truth, and their T-Party base wouldn't even recognize the truth!
I want to re-vote!

News 12 This Morning / Monday, July 2, 2012
AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The price of gas is the lowest it's been in five months. In South Carolina, the price at the pump is well below $3.
Now the question is, how low can it go? As prices dip down at the pump, drivers like Marc Thompson are filling up and hitting the road.
"This Gas Plus is usually the cheapest around town. I'm coming from Evans to come here for gas," Thompson said.
The 15-minute drive from Evans to North Augusta is well worth the trip.
"I'm considering on taking trips now. Prior to that, I was staying at home vacating here," Thompson said.
He isn't the only traveler thinking that way. Visit any outdoor attraction like Mistletoe Park and you'll see cars from all over the state.
"Because the 4th is falling on a Wednesday, I'm comparing it to Masters week because it's not just the weekend -- we're busy all week long," said Brenda Berttroff, the Mistletoe Park clerk.
The reservations are already piling up for campground sites.
"We get local folks, but a lot of people come from Savannah, Statesboro area," Berttroff said.
Keith Anderson, who was visiting Mistletoe, explained, "We're on our way to Hilton Head."
Anderson, who's traveling by RV, says he'll probably shell out $400 to $500 for the trip. If you are traveling by car from Augusta to Hilton Head, expect to pay around $50 for 18 gallons of gas to get you there. Two months ago that same trip would have cost you almost $58. It's a few dollars that can add up over the year.
"That's just exactly how they want us to think; I think we are conditioned like that," Anderson added.
"I hope it gets lower than this," Thompson said.
AAA projects a 4.9 percent increase in the number of Americans who will take to the roads this holiday week. Factors that could shift the price of gas include hurricane season and the economic turmoil in Europe
India~ I said yes too. And for the same reason. But we probably SHOULD have voted no!
Will the Republicans ever stop using ploys, as opposed to real issues?
No.
we forgive india and mjb we know where your heart is
YEAH - But Just Watch It Next-Time Hey = heheheheeeeeee !!!!!
India~~Just go back and vote two more times, if you want to strike your yes vote. I almost voted yes, but then I realized we aren't working with a full deck.
Yes and no----They will use the gas prices if they are high against a Democratic President.--& --If the gas prices are low under a Republican President, they will claim that the prices are low, because a Republican is in office.. Like the Now Leader of the Republican party, they will flip-flop on any thing to fit their agendas.
I voted no because we know the Republicans have never let the truth or facts get in their way.
Hey Larry--I think this is one of those questions that could go either way; It all depends on the situation at the time.. but I voted no too.
I could care less what gas prices are. I wish the Federal Government would use the Federal taxes that you and I pay per gallon of gas, on infrastrusture. That amount is fixed per gallon. It is not a percentage and doesn't change with gas prices. It is guaranteed revenue.
Instead they throw it into the General Fund and then complain that we don't have any money for infrastructure. It's all BS. Wake up people.
We're all getting 'played' by our elected officials. The money we're being taxed for is not being spent on what it's supposed to pay for. Federal gas taxes are not being spent on infrastructure.
Great Gran, I did go back and vote a resounding NO! Oooops....
Go ahead MJB, do it!
Hi, Larry. How's Eddie behaving tonight? Jack's still living above the fray!
I give up! He won't come down for love or money! LOL
India has said she has me on Ignore. Obviously he/she is trying to blindly respond to my postings. It's kind of funny when you read them.
Realistically, both parties have and will continue to blame the President, no matter who points out that he or she has no control over the world market price of gas, for as long as it is expedient. Everyone's hands are dirty here. Lieberman and Dodd were among the politicians (and several republicans) that pushed legislation to allow speculation on oil. If we want to blame people, let's learn to point our fingers at the right people. In the same way the Bill Clinton went along with republicans and democrats to repeal Glass/Steagal, high oil prices were a bi-partisan effort. The President in charge at the time was, again, Bill Clinton. Let's put the blame where it really lies. Bush could have changed this during six years of republican control of all three branches of government, so he deserves some blame. Obama never had a clear majority in the Senate. People like to add turn-coat Lieberman to the democrat side. He isn't. He's republican through and through, and the I behind his name stands for Ideologue. We never got past 59 votes in congress under Obama, down to 58 after the tragic death of Ted Kennedy, God rest his soul.
@theCavalier,
You are absolutely wrong. Obama has always had a majority in the the Senate. He also had a supermajority in the Senate once Al Franken was added in July of 2009 until Scott Brown was elected to replace Ted Kennedy.
Get your facts straight.
For you to say Joe Lieberman, just because he supported his colleague and friend John McCain in 2008, was anything but a Democrat is laughable. He was a Democrat his entire life and caucuses with the Democrats. The only reason the Left threw him under the bus is that he spoke out infavor of the surge in Iraq and he supported his colleague over a Community Organizer with no Executive experience.
He was right about the surge and he was right about Obama.
When did Bush have control over three branches of Government?
@theCavalier,
Are you really saying that Bush had control over the Judicial Branch of Government for 6 years? Aren't they supposed to be non-partisan.
You do know the Supreme Court is the Third branch of Government don't you?
the "third branch of gov't" DID ANNOINT w. bush president, as you recall in the year 2000.
the supreme court is NOT ALWAYS NON PARTISAN, just because they are "supposed to be".
@suzette,
Somebody call a Whaambulance!!!!!! You, like this President are stuck in the past, blaming Bush for everything. When is it going to be Obama's economy, 3 years, 8 years? Why not look yourself in the mirror and see that you voted for a Community Organizer with no Executive experience? You got the Government and economy you voted for.
I would like to thank the oil speculators for the drop in gas prices. The liberals love to blame them when gas prices rise, but never mention anything when gas prices fall. It works both ways correct?
No. Repubs will continue with their tactics of obstruction what they are good at . American people have not seen any good ideas how to take the country forward from the repubs. Only obstructionsism does not provide votes from the people, only good ideas does. Shame that these repubs are Americans.
No, they need the gas price higher, so they can create jobs via the keystone pipeline.
I agree. Great post.
Keystone XL is a farce so that Kochsuckers like Boehner and Cantor can dupe the r/tp's into supporting it. The cost is astronomical to the "regular" people and States involved.
The Republicans and others need to get the spine to stand up to big oil's threats of increasing prices if they don't get their corporate welfare handouts. Maybe publicly owned oil should be publicly managed. Big oil is one of the examples of capitalism run amuk.
Keystone will neither create jobs nor bring gas prices down. Conversely, when cheap Keystone oil floods the foreign market and American oil is more expensive, the American oil companies will have to increase their gas prices to make up the difference.
TheRealIssue is that Federal taxes collected as a result of gas sales are not used for infrastucture. Those taxes are put into the General Fund and then politicians complain that they don't have any money for infrastructure.
It's all BS. Use the taxes collected for their intended purposes, i.e. infrastructure.
Once again I missed what Sarah had to say! Darn...
Lori60 ~ REPULSICONS and YOU think that the KEYSTONE XL Will bring JOBS ??? That it Will LOWER GAS PRICES ???
1ST ~ GAS is SOLD on the WORLD MARKET - ALL GAS !!!!
2ND ~ Keystone in it COMMERCIAL ~ DOES NOT SAY THAT THE WEUSA WILL GET EVEN 1 DROP of that OIL !! OR GUARENTEE AN ENXACT NUMBER of JOBS to the USA !!
3RD ~ Keystone Pipeline DOES NOT STOP ANYWHERE between CANADA and the GULF off of TEXAS ~ Which IS the BIGGEST EXPORT HUB in the USA ( That means WE99% GET NO OIL !!! Until its SOLD ON THE WORLD MKT )
4TH ~ OIL PRODUCTION is HIGHEST ITS BEEN IN YEARS in the USA !!!!! And WE99% have MORE DRILLING THAN THE LAST PREZ !!!
5TH ~ REPUGS say that HIGH GAS PRICES are the PRES. OBAMAS FAULT !!! But dont say its HIS FAULT when GAS PRICES FALL !!!! Hmmmm
6TH ~ DEMS want to INVEST in ALTERNATE FUELS - BECAUSE OF HOT WEATHER LIKE THE USA IS HAVING NOW !! NOT the PRICE of GAS is GOING HIGH !!!! WE99% WANT TO SAVE THE EARTH !!!!!
7TH ~ KEYSTONE XL is FILLED WITH CANADAS DIRTY SAND OIL !! That WILL be sent HERE to be CLEANED and DEAL WITH THE MASSIVE WASTE PRODUCED !!!!!!!!
8TH ~ They plan on SENDING SAND OIL thru 60 PLUS YEAR OLD TECHNOLOGY of their PIPES - CANNOT SEND SAND THRU PIPE WITHOUT SAND BLASTING THE INSIDES !!! TRY cleaning up that MESS !!!!!
India has said she has me on Ignore. Obviously he/she is trying to blindly respond to my postings. It's kind of funny when you read them.
@TOYBB,
Oil production is the highest it has been in years, but it is not because of this President or his Administration. Oil production is down on Federal lands. The only reason oil production is up is because oil prices got so high, people with private land decided to start drilling.
Gas prices are not controlled by the President. Gas prices are controlled by speculators. The problem is that speculators don't think the President is serious about oil exploration/extraction in the US. They know that this Administration is only pursuing Green Energy. So, why would speculators be afraid of this Administration?
Call it Global Warming if you want. I call Climate Change, i.e. weather. It's time to put on stop pissing your pants and come to the realization that we have experienced weather this warm before and depending on where you want to start your baseline, we are either experiencing warming or cooling. It's just weather, nothing more.
You and the WE99%, can just keep playing your bongo drums in Zucotti Park and watch your lives go by or you can pick yourselves up in the morning, throw some coffee down your throats, and get yourselves a job.
LOL
so funny someone has been drilling like a 25 cent drill bit that's been in the hole to long, i see a round trip coming on.
maybe the handlers and enablers can get a new bit for the drilling operation.
but been funny to read or should i say re-read the same stuff.
Shouldn't it be SpillBaby?
they got to use what they think they can. Romney and the bunch reminds me of the Frasier and tossed salad and scrambled eggs......
If it is a lie then the Republicans will use it. The party of liars and haters!!
Kevin,
Lying is the new mantra used by all these ungodly Republicans/Tea Party. If U hear the truth, it didn't come from a Republican/Tea Party. U can bet your last money on that, if U R a betting guy! It would be best 2 put up @ least $10,000.
When the gas went up they blamed Obama, when it went down they did not blame Obama.. Whats up with that??? come on Republicans got nothing period they are looooosers
As long as the oil companies and the Koch brothers continue to make money hand-over-fist and continue bribing Republicans with million-dollar checks, Republicans will continue using the politics of gas prices...
John Boehner and Eric Cantor have money invested in the Keystone pipeline, so they will never leave it alone...
David, #7 In that case, I hope it never goes through; not if Boehner and Cantor profit by it! Shouldn't that be illegal, for them to push something they'd profit from?
Oh, silly me, I forgot that is their JOB!
India...
STOCK Act of 2012 - Please note it would still allow legislators to profit without penalty from insider trading...
John Boehner's Stake in Keystone XL Pipeline
no they won't and they'll continue to use everything as ploys. they are bunch of asses. i have no more adjectives to add today because none has been invented, so i'll give them asses a break today.
Billie, don't insult asses by comparing them with these creatures! LOL
sorry india but that was the nicest i could be. lol
not until they are fracking Yellowstone!!
They are alreading fracking the rest of the country, why not turn the National parks into toxic cess pools.
Especially true, in the context of Battlestar Galactica...
No! Gas give them 1 more thing 2 belly ache about!
They put it in a strategy where damn if it goes up, damn if it goes down.
http://auto.howstuffworks.com/fuel-efficiency/fuel-consumption/gas-price3.htm
Numerous forces can influence the price of gas at the pump, but fuel costs are only one part in the vast web of global economics. Gas prices have an impact on other parts of the economy as well. You're already aware of the immediate effects of rising prices - that feeling of stunned disbelief as the numbers climb and climb while you fill your tank. There are secondary effects as well. You might decide against a long road trip because the gas would cost too much. When it comes time to buy a car, you might decide against a gas-guzzling SUV and find something with better mileage instead.
Let's look at the big picture. Does a hike in gas prices lead to inflation in the overall economy? It could, as long as the increase is a steady, long-term rise in prices. Expensive gas means it's expensive to ship products by truck, expensive to drive long distances and expensive to fly in airplanes. All those costs mean the cost of virtually any product you can think of will go up if gas prices stay high.
However, economists don't look at gas prices as a leading indicator of inflation. The price of oil, along with food costs, are far too volatile -- that is, they are easily influenced by things like weather, labor strikes and wars. The costs swing up and down, depending on world events. To watch for inflation, economists keep their eyes on the core Consumer Price Index, which is a measure of the cost of certain goods, like DVD players, hotel rooms or college textbooks, which stay more stable in the short term.
Not until the economics of the argument fails due to lower prices.
Hey Ed gas prices in parts of Indianapolis IN are at $2.98 unleaded lol
Gas prices in my town is at 2.98 also..--YES!
$3.59 here. But it seams to take long to drop all the way out here on the west coast.
Wow will they stop using gas prices for politics...I love these ridiculous poll questions
it's like Are Republican horrible awful evil people?
Text A for yes
Text b for Totally
No of course they won't and democrats will use it as well.
Cynical-if you don't like the question then why are you here to complain.I noticed Your avatar or your posted picture, does it mean you're the devils advocate looking for away just to gripe.Your master must be so proud.
Looks like an evil sign 2 me!!!
Thanks, CC. Best comment on this topic. There are a lot of angry, misinformed people commenting. Supply and demand control oil prices and therefore, gas prices. The good news is that gas prices are coming down, the bad news is the that the reason they are coming down is less demand for oil/gas due to an economic slowdown; I think that the current administration's policies are contributing to this slowdown...
What would be the cause of your brain slowing down
Hi Cynical!
I know what you're saying. Looks like somehow you stepped in it again. <s>
Hi Simpson!
There's too much ignorance....see #15.3 to know this. Blinders made out of the flag seems to be what's in style these days. They don't seem to want to get up to speed for various reasons we all know. Shooting themselves foot is what they'll get in the end and worse. So sad.
kathy:
If you believe that supply and demand is what's going on, you need to study up on what is happening *to* the economy now. Also, the new GOP in Congress is responsible for the slowdown....that's been the plan from the beginning. Wake up !!
Plutocacy is on its way if we can't figure out a way to take the spell off all those who swallow the propoganda and representatives who are supposed to do the work for all the People....no the very few.
Kathe/T,
These mindless middle class republican's believe they R going 2 receive Manager & Supervisor positions, if Romney get into Office. They actually believe they will be our masters, by turning back the hands of time.
They refuse 2 believe they will be treated just like the Democrat middle class. Washed up & without a job.
Mmmmm....you all do realize I not saying anything about the republicans I'm saying every poll question Ed does always ends up with 99% of poeple on one side every night. It's so predictable so it's very boring. They should pick more complex questions so people will think harder and we can see a more diverse set of opinions.
It's like what noise does the cow make?
1.mooo
2.alaska
Obviously it's moo so do you have to ask? Do something more provocative and debatable.
CynicalC,
Why don't U get your own show? So, U can ask all the Robotic Puppeteer RepubliCon BrainWashed type questions U want.
I'm not a republican stupid nor do I even to the right I just think the poll questions they want to pick are a little cheesy
Phyllis...
I have to agree with CC... I try to use the poll questions for inspiration for my poetry, so it's more topical, more aware of the moment... Haven't seen much poetry from me lately, have you?
When the answers are obvious, when the same topic has been addressed again and again, when you know what the poll results will be as soon as you see the question... Why bother asking the question?
These have devolved from a matter of interest to a matter of habit, of redundancy... Where's the thought, the dialogue, the inspiration?
An old limerick of mine...
Primary season is taking its toll.
It's so ridiculous, seen as a whole.
We have to say, Ed,
The GOP is misled,
Try coming up with a new poll...
Gas could drop to $0.37.9/gallon (haven't seen that since 1974!), and they'd blame Obama for destroying the oil industry.
LOL!!!
@MarkB,
The state and federal taxes on a gallon of gas would prevent that from happening. If they actually used that money to pay for infrastucture instead of just throwing it into the General Fund maybe our politicians wouldn't keep complaining that we don't have any money for infrastructure.
Good one, Mark! LOL They would, indeed. Facts don't rule the GOP talking points.
India has said she has me on Ignore. Obviously he/she is trying to blindly respond to my postings. It's kind of funny when you read them.
LMAO at drill
must be lonely there, seeing you have been spamming India about having you on ignore.
its amusing to watch a suppose grow up cry and scream for attention from someone.
Hi Pilot, I do have him on ignore and have no intention of seeing what he has to say.
I think he has a crush on me, he seems to want my attention. LOL
Obama has no effect on Gas Prices...The Republicans are behind every bloody negative thing that is evil and canniving...They have no BRAINS...
Something that no representatives will do anything about is the free money that speculators tack on to the price of a barrel of oil. We buy back *our* oil at the inflated price. What a racket.
Who's really representing who? As if we didn't know.
Amen To That KATHE -- You Got that Rite -- And Not very many people realize that Or even Speak of It = They Hike the Ball 3-4-5- Times Between Multiple Middle-men JUST To Jack-Up the Prices !!!!!!! Talk About Passing the Buck - Literally !!!!!
Kathy-- To top it off we give them taxpayer subsidies in this area that no Republican in Congress wants to repeal or get rid of that cost to the American People.Billions each year and the CEO of Exxon said they are not needed and Republicans still want them and apparently so does the whole Party though the complain about everything but the right things.
Sorry Kathe/Tacoma my comment was to boast your statement and I put Kathy/florida big mistake give the rhetoric from her.
It's all good, Simpson. Kathy is calling the kettle black.
The payoffs to representatives (r/tp's and DINO's) are no sweat to these billionares. They get many more dollars in exchange on the backs of the 93%. The less we have, the more money they have to control the "useless eaters" as we are called in their meetings.
Let's threaten to open up drilling in the Gulf and open up Federal lands to drilling and see how far gas prices drop. Speculators need something to be afraid of. They are not afraid of this Administration's energy policy.
Simpson, They will never vote those oil subsidies down. They are in the pockets of Big Oil. They seem to have two jobs: They lie and make themselves rich doing it.
The rest of us are simply irrelevant to their real job: Making a great deal of money.
(I see by the clock that it is the 4th of July. Have a happy one, folks!)
India has said she has me on Ignore. Obviously he/she is trying to blindly respond to my postings. It's kind of funny when you read them.
Even funnier that there is more drilling in the gulf of mexico than there was before the oil spill and most federal land leased is no even used for drilling. Lets also noot forget the fact that the companies have no requirement to sell there product at a low price or in america. They are making insane profits now so why would they lower prices with more supply...that just means more product for them to chage high prices on ie even more insane profits.
@CC,
Drilling in the Gulf is not being done by American companies. Remember, Obama told Brazil, "We're going to be your best customer." You are right, petroleum company profits are tied to the price of oil and until speculators fear this Administration's energy policy, oil prices will remain high and petroleum company profits will be high. Oil prices will not go down substantially until this Administration starts really getting serious about oil exploration and excavation.
its getting to a point now that a stalking claim might be able to be made on you drill.
that's what 5 plus times with same post. stalking or spamming?
Nice attempt to tell a blatant lie. I'm not sure where to start attacking that. The fact that most oil in gulf is in deepwater where companies generally don't want to do if possible because they fear something like BP, you know the biggest man made natural disaster in our lifetime. Perhaps you also don't know multinational corporations are no american anymore than they are chinese. They have no national allegiances. Or that oil is on a global market where companies can sell it where ever they want and thus don't have to sell a penny of it here. Lets not forget oil production domestically has risen and so have prices so clearly supply is not a factor. These companies and countries like saudi arabia have cellars of stored oil which keep off the market to make more money when prices tick upward so they can take advantage of that.
Yes we will be a good customer to brazil because they're retty close to us. Yeah imagine that.
You and all the rest here no the right would resist any measure increasing any commodities trading trade taxes. So if that's what you want tell your kill all regulation republican friends.
Now last surely you're not suggesting the fed should do these companies work for them or pick winner and losers...you people just hate that last I checked. Can't ever pick winners and losers says republicans.
There is no supply issue. Anymore idiot fictions facts for us to dissect
Not with a Democrat as President. And definitely not when that President's name is Barack Obama. It was his fault, according to them, when gas prices were high, and now they want to say he's pushing them too low? This party is a glorified joke, and a dangerous one at that given certain sections of this country put some of these fools in elected office.
they have nothing to talk about so they blame OBAMA for everything that is wrong.
Yes. Like this guy.....he was a nasty little troll-man.....both times.

Hey my sweet friend--I know you are right~~LOL
"Cut off one head, two more shall take its place! HAIL HYDRA!!!"
This is what they do all the time, they raise them up exorbitantly, then they come down about 1/2 that and leave it there, so it seams like the price increase is not so bad.
