Let's face it. The GOPers will deny global warming long after they are burned alive.
That's an interesting solution to the problem.
Why can't the states refusing to use the new Obamacare be forced to use it? I didn't realize there was a choice.
They will be. They have a chance to set it up on their own, but if it's not ready to go by 2014, the Federal government will set it up for them. The states need to get the insurance exchanges set up between now and then. This, of course is dependent on Obama being reelected. That's why Bobby Jindal, Rick Scott and some of the others are waiting until after the election before they move on it.
No they won't and they can do it, it's not about obamacare it's about a smaller part of the law on medicaid which was in fact struck down. People have to understand there are alot more issues at play hear than MSNBC will tell you that's why you need to watch Current TV they explain it all.
Last week they had a guest who was a state official who made some very legit concerns, things that most people would not actually have the oppurtunity to realize. In terms of medicaid it is always been voluntary that's why we have it. The states had to agree in the first place for it to be created in the first place. Next you have to know that once you're in you don't get out. If the states agree to medicaid or medicaid expansions they can't go back later and roll any of that back. The federal government will not let them, it is a one way street. So if they agree they will have to pay no matter what happens so if they don't have that money they're in trouble because they can't shrink the program. Now you will mention the amount the fed would pay over the first decade or so and yes the amount states would pay is much lower now. But 10% can be a lot of money, who's to say that in some point in the future the number of people enrolled wouldn't increase tremendously. If that happens that 10% is going to be alot more. Now because states can't print money or raise a debt ceiling they have access to alot less so it's possible the costs could overwhelm their capacity to provide the services that they are also responsible. It can really add up.
So there are some things that should be given a closer look. I just really don't like the idea that once they are in they can not shrink it regardless of their potential financial situations
CC,
you are right.
Kagan and Breyer, 2 liberal judges voted with Justice Roberts that expansion with full penalties for states that do not comply is unconstitutional.
repubs are angry now over what they see as an obvious loss to President Obama. once they settle down a bit, and look at the full context of what was done, they won't be so angry at Justice Roberts. he is the sacrificial lamb.
they still have to react the way they are now, treating Robert's vote as a win for health care because they want to use this against President Obama.
Get rid of "Assie" Cupp from your panel. She is just an empty-headed blow hard who has nothing to say--except for Republican half-truths and lies! She is proving that in SPADES on "The Cycle." I have quit watching that show because of her.
Who at MSNBC is SC Cupp related to that MSNBC is pushing her?? She is not worthy of co-hosting a program. As much as I like Krystal Ball, I refus to subject myself to Cupp and switch the channel when Cycle comes on and any other show that has Cupp, like Ed tonight.
I agree with the last two commenters about Ms Cupp. The way you can tell she is just a reciting one-trick pony is to actually watch two or more shows she appears on, such as today. On the Cycle her blurb consisted of "quoting" poll results that showed that so many people don't like ACA(Obamacares). What did she have to offer tonight on Ed's show? The same old recycled recitation. What is Phil Griffin thinking?
Ed, will you please post the graph you used to compare taxes under each president? Sometimes these help me make my point with some Republican friends. Everyone can understand a simple graph. I want to use it to counter the continuing talking point out there that "Obamacare" is the biggest tax increase ever....pah lease....this should be obviously untrue...but a copyable graph would help!
I don't know what I said but I stand by it what ever I said but let me get my etch-a- sketch , OK, I was for it before I was against it.. What a clown
I am so glad that it is unlikely that Mr. Romney will be traveling with his dog
on top of the car this 4th of July weekend because it is absolutely too hot outside. Thank goodness that he brought this to our attention early in his campaign and for
the wide spread publicity about his behavior in the past.
Happy July 4th!
