I am one of those business owners that had to keep my regular job while running my business simply because I could not get health insurance as a business owner. I have a preexisting condition and as a result I was told by United Healthcare that I could not be insured and they also informed me not to apply anywhere else because I would be denied with other companies as well.

So, I still have to wait until 2014 - but in 2014 I can finally quit my job and work on my business fully - and be able to get health insurance at the same time!!!

The fact that it was upheld under the tax code does NOT mean it is a tax raise!!!! The tax part of it only comes in when people who CAN AFFORD health insurance and choose not to have it, (thus raising the cost for the rest of us) will be taxed a small amount as a penalty for not participating and taking individual responsibility. This isn't even enforceable. It also affects at most 2% of the population. It does NOT RAISE ANYONE'S TAXES. That is a T-party LIE and they sure will keep driving it home!

Who do you think are going to pay for the 30+ million people that don't have health insurance? Some of those are rolling the dice because their young and healthy. The rest can't afford it. So, the young healthy ones get taxed to the hilt because they don't have a choice now, so they will bear the brunt of this. The rest of us will have to pony up the rest.

I don't know about you, but I'm middle class. If it looks like a tax, smells like a tax, and quacks like a tax, it's probably a tax and, by the way, the largest tax increase in America's history.

Our deficiet is larger due to the tax cuts that you 'enjoy' now. The tax rate has to go up not entirely due to spending but to whats not being collected. We have been at war and that war has not been paid for, also we are the most unhealthest country in the world and I know that republicans always want to blame the victim but you know victims need help too.

Obamacare is the closest we have ever come to having an upper hand over the insurance companies, finally - and you complain about that, wow!

This country ranked, among developed nations, at a low 37 after all those nation's health care systems were evaluated. Doubt we could sink much lower. This gives us a chance at a good health care system better than the old one that was mostly determined by how the insurance companies allowed health care to be delivered here. I hope by the time I die we will see a universal system like other countries have. Having traveled to many countries that have it, meeting with medical people and the regular working people, I have been told over and over that they love it. THEY don't go bankrupt from having catastrophic illness or accidents like Americans do. Their infant mortality rates are lower, people live longer and they have a great preventative health care system. The Affordable Care Act is a move to give us a better system and hope that the date of incorporating all aspects moves closer than the 2014 the repubs demanded.

FINutmegger, That is not true. If you need insurance and can't afford it, under Obamacare, the government helps you buy it. For people who can afford it, and choose to be irresponsible and let the rest of us pay higher costs for their irresponsibility, there is a small tax, which is not enforceable. In short, they can't make you pay it. (That would affect maybe 1% of the population. That's all.) A VERY small percentage would ever even get that tax, like 1%, and even they wouldn't be forced to pay it.
