I would have helped if they had read the bill first!
You would have helped?
You coould have read the bill. Did you?
It is not perfect.....but is a move to lean forward. The reps only go backwards.
corrupt media huh? how about fox and cnn? Truman lost tooooooooooo.....oh my ribs........
Typo "It"
What's important is that the changes were made. The Republicans and the insurance companies wanted the public to think that health insurance could never be changed, and it would have to stay the way it was forever, with the insurance companies in charge and completely untouchable. What Obama proved was that it could be changed, and now when the government wants to enact further changes, they can point to this and say it is possible. That's what they were really afraid of. And Obama changed all that.
the repubs are really fired up now.
they want to win in nov. more than ever NOW.
Burn baby,burn!
Someone finally admitted it: So-called "voter ID" laws are not about preventing fraud—they're about preventing President Obama from winning a second term.
Pennsylvania House Majority Leader Mike Turzai was caught on tape this week bragging to his fellow Republicans that the state's voter suppression law—recently signed into law by Governor Corbett—"is going to allow Governor Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania."
This wasn't a gaffe or a misstatement. It was a rare declaration of the Republicans' true intent: to discourage Democrats from voting in November.
We need to act now to draw attention to these shameful comments, so that everyone knows what “voter ID” is really all about: sending Mitt Romney to the White House.
BHO the only voter fraud has been done on the Republican side they can't win on there own. Show me some facts of voter fraud, I know your can you just lie about it.
When Republicans talk about erecting new barriers to voting, they say they have only the purest lily-white motives. They say they just want to safeguard the electoral process, further democracy and defend truth and justice for all mankind.
We know this is a bunch of baloney, but we need to make sure swing voters aren't fooled. When Republicans come out and state their true intent, voters need to hear about it.
The Pennsylvania law is bad, but it's not the only one. In swing states, from Florida to Michigan to Wisconsin, Republicans have rammed through aggressive laws aimed at suppressing Democratic turnout and handing these swing states to Mitt Romney.
Thankful Mom are you not upset that President Obama promised us over and over that he would not raise taxes on the middle class? There are a lot of good things in the health care law but taxing the middle class is not good in my opinion.
Rolla- In actuality, the tax is very low. The tax is 1% of your income for not having insurance, payable to the IRS. In reality- the job killing aspect will make it so that people won't have much in the way of income. 1% of very little is very little.
Not upset at all High Rolla, as long as he raise it on the ones who can afford it. The tax you mention is very small and if the rich pay their fair share it will stay that way.
Thanks Rusty for being real. I wish people would read and investigate and get the facts.
The rich will most likely pay the tax it will be cheaper on them. They can afford to just pay for the bill out of poket. THE poor like myself now will be ok. I want have to pay because Im already going to the VA. Its the middle class that will be paying this tax so not only have the repuks staged war on the middle class Obama has as well. The middle class is doomed for sure now that Obama has turned on them. It would not suprise me if the big companies opt out and just pay the tax and the employees will have to get their own insurance.
Senator Tom Harkin explained the Affordable Care Act best when he described it as a starter home that laid down the foundation for a larger home as the needs of the family changes. The ACA showed that substantive change is possible but its not easy. This bill is not my first choice, because I feel the country needs a Medicare for all public option. However, I realize change comes in increments and this change will help about 32 million people get health insurance. It is a big step forward in the right direction but the health care journey won't reach its final destination until we are all under a Medicare for all system.
Senator Harkin probably knows this but its always better to get something done rather than to wring your hands and get no health care bill at all. The rising costs issue however, remains like a pack of circling wolves, around our health care system. The ACA will keep those circling pack of wolves at bay for a while, but not indefinitely. More will need to be done in coming years so we all can get a chance to fight this fight all over again otherwise the pack of wolves are going to eat us all alive. The ACA will have to be amended to help contain costs after the exchanges and working parts are all put in place after 2014.
Mitt says that Obama care will take money from Medicare, Is
this correct?
Will this reduce Medicare services to seniors?
Find Obamas speech from this morning and you will have all the answers. Mitt tend to lie alot. It is his nature. He unfairly scares the Amerian Public, for his own want-a-be cause.
No, this isn't true. Republicans are the ones that want to do away with Medicare all together.Listen to their speeches and agendas.Look before this bill was made everyone had to purchase healthcare anyway to get quality services. If you did not or don't have insurance the quality of your care is lousy.State run hospitals and clinics are poor and the costs of those free services are placed back on the poeple that do have insurance making the costs go up of course. Now everyone has to pay at least something and it will be made affordable That is why it is called the Affordable Health Care Act. If it were abolished it would have gone back the way it was and the costs would have been even more ridiculous.Republican governed states are closing state run facilities everyday as part of austerity measures to budget. This will work as long as Republicans and their greedy agendas to Healthcare lobbieists keep their noses out of it. There can always be amendments to the bill that will make it run more sufficiently. Doing nothing is not an option.
BHO Paul Ryan that is the person who want to end Medicare your need to get off of Fox your not inform about the facts.
The Ryan bill parts 1 and 2. The only liar is the one who was banned and decided he could re reg because his wittle life is so meaningless without bugging others for attention.
BO: You don't need a link just go on You Tube and look at any past GOP debate and you will see things like Paul Ryans Plan and Social Security is a ponzi scheme. If there is no Social Security then there cannot be Medicare.
Republicans threw everything they had at us, and they lost. With you standing with us, we can carry this momentum into November and win a Democratic majority to keep making progress.
This gives it some clarity: Read on.....
