It seems Joe the Plumber (also known as Samuel Wurzelbacher) isn't the only one pushing the idea that gun control laws contributed to the Holocaust.
Buzzfeed reports that Allen West "told a crowd at a campaign stop in 2010 that gun control in Germany was essentially responsible for the Holocaust."
"In 1930, there was a gentleman in Germany who took away private gun ownership and you know what happened to that population," West says in the video. "You must be well informed and well armed, because this government we have right now is a tyrannical government."
Last Monday Wurzelbacher released a campaign video that echoed similar statements.
"In 1939, Germany established gun control. From 1939 to 1945, six million Jews and seven million others unable to defend themselves were exterminated," Wurzelbacher says.
West represents Florida's 22nd congressional district and endorsed Wurzelbacher in April. Wurzelbacher is challenging Democratic Representative Marcy Kaptur for the House seat in Ohio's ninth district.
"One of the great things about Joe is that he represents the genuineness of the American people. Someone who has served in the military, and now is trying to answer the call to serve at a greater level," West said.

The crazy thing is - there's no big push by Democrats to ban guns. We have a constitutional right to have guns and that's that. Republicans keep spitting up this rhetoric so people will think Democrats are trying to take away their guns.

Some how I believe Liberals would have supported gun rights if Bush would have suspended elections because of the economic crisis.

actually it's all one in the same. priorities. I've got my guns and I don't feal threatened. my priorities involve me/my neighbors well being. I'm not armed looking for a boogie man around every corner.

I would imagine the smoke might obscure a peice of footage from space at least a little....but basically it's because military technology is heavily guarded so people don't have free access to it and so it gets used purely for military purposes even if it could be helpful for civilian purposes

If the blaze isn't large enough they don't use airrcraft because they don't keep those things just waiting otherwise we'd not have firefighters would we. And in general as I'm sure you don't know the efficiency of aircraft in fighting fires is debatable since even the largest aircraft they can rig only can carry relatvely small amounts of chemical retardants or water. Not to mention that they are one shot deals.
By the time that plane is in air that fire's grown sherlock. There's a reason why these wildfires happen every year it's because it's very hot there is very little preciptation. Human activity and natural phenomenon start those fires and season wind conditions expand them massively in minutes. California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas are states carved out frim the desert, they are areas which have been made hospitable through human activity using irrigation resources which are always limited.
Just when you think the Repubs can't go any lower, they sink a little further down. I'm beginning to think they have no bottom. No lie too big, no deed too foul, they just keep rolling along like a Sherman tank. Destroying everything in their path.
