According to Samuel Wurzelbacher, better known as Joe the Plumber, we can all blame gun control laws for failing to prevent the Armenian Genocide and the Holocaust.
Wurzelbacher released a campaign video last Monday in which he suggests that Nazi gun control laws led to the deaths during the Holocaust because Jews didn't have firearms to defend themselves.
While loading a shotgun and shooting fruits and vegetables, Wurzelbacher gives us a brief history lesson.
"In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were exterminated," he says. "In 1939, Germany established gun control. From 1939 to 1945, six million Jews and seven million others unable to defend themselves were exterminated."
He then turns to the camera and says, "I love America."
Wurzelbacher is challenging Democratic Representative Marcy Kaptur for the House seat in Ohio's ninth district. He became known as "Joe the Plumber" after questioning Barack Obama about his economic policies during the 2008 presidential campaign.

Many would have still die, but don't you think that so would have many more Nazis? Think [what if] for instance Kristallnacht, if as many Jewish store owners, and residence of Germany had guns like they do in America today, the brown shirts would not have gotten away with nearly what they did.
There is a butterfly effect in history, many seemingly meaningless incidents, or circumstances can eventually have profound effects. I do not know what effect a well armed citizens of Germany at the time would have had on history, but I am sure it wouldn't have been simple.

I watched the ad and it got me thinking.
It is a perfect example of taking only those factors that you find advantageous to your argument and then drawing a conclusion.
(Skip a lot of things that happened) ... and they took the guns away and ..... (skip all the other things that happened) ... and then the Holocaust happened.
I am not an expert in the rise of Nazi Germany. What is important to remember is that a radical group gained power essentially through democratic means. And then things went horribly horribly wrong.
The point of the ad is that taking all the guns away from citizens leaves them no way to fight back against tyranny or invasion. Remember that movie - I think Patrick Swayze was in it - about a group of teenagers fought back against invading Russians? That is why we have the second amendment and must preserve the right to bear arms. NOBODY DISAGREES WITH THIS!!

The problem with the Movie "Dawn" is that was a movie that followed a story line that was very pro gun/pro American ideology. It also showed anti Cuban bias as the Cuban military were helpless to stop the local students until the USSR sent in the "man". Reality is the students would not have lasted more then a few weeks at best before either starvation or fellow citizens would have ratted them out. Remember the whole movie was based on standing together in reality we know that our little tea bagged trolls would have ratted them out as soon as they were made uncomfortable.
