Lebron James took a lot of crap (some deserved, some not) for his very public "decision" to ditch Cleveland for Miami a few years ago. But this March he and his Heat teammates did something that's pretty much unprecedented in the modern era of professional sports. They got together and took a stand for justice on behalf of a slain 17-year-old kid. The act to don hoodies en masse and tweet the picture out took the story to a whole new level. It forced sports fans to sit up and pay attention to story they may have ignored otherwise. Eventually, as we know, Trayvon Martin's killer was arrested and will now be tried by a jury of his peers. Who knows if that would have happened if Lebron and team hadn't done what they did. What we do know is that a group of millionaires did something that their team owners and agents would have never approved. They took a stand and did the right thing. They took their responsibility as role models seriously and did something about it. That's why everyone anywhere who cares about justice and the rule of law should feel good about a championship for Lebron and the Heat.
Also, you can now purchase your own Miami Heat 2012 Championship Hoodies.

Oh my god, are you serious? It pains me that people actually pay you to think up this garbage.
btw I logged into an account I haven't used in 6 years to post this, that's how adamantly I wanted to tell you how stupid you are.
Tom, it's always good for anyone to stand up for what is right. Be careful in using words like stupid, because things may not be the same as they were in 2006. I've read the few comments you've put on the various articles at that time. Would hate to see you not be able to stand up for what you think is right. You know it is possible that some would rather you be silenced if your beliefs or in some cases propaganda they either believe or promote is subject to review. Here are a couple of articles that may be on this site, I don't know.

So Tom, thanks for standing up for what you believe. I put these articles on here for the same reason, because I know the agitate and divide that has crept into our society in the last few years has no interest in reporting any of this because it puts a human face on someone they want to use to promote their agenda.
they can wear their " Hoodie" in public if they want, i am 47 and did the same thing as a teenager, i am white..i always wore hiking boots, my baseball cap on backwards with long hair, but the one thing i did make sure of is having respect for people. if i went into a store, the hood came down, some hot chick nearby, that hood came down, my old man pissed about something...that hood was wrapped around my head .I never gave anyone anything to have the wrong impression, because mistakes happened then, and they happen now with zimmermann. just as mistakes happened when MSNBC's editing dept got ahold of that 911 call from Zimmermann and edited it to appear racist..they got away with that until NBC made them correct it, and fire three workers, but so far MSNBC made no apologies..not their style for almost inciting a race riot and possible injuries or death.
Right or wrong, it is nice to see a group of people stand up for what they believe.
Tom, you stood up for yourself, so you can go back to your cave as you admit, and coverup your head for another 6 year.
God Bless the Heat.
Wouldn't it be nice to talk about our stupid gun laws instead? Why do civilians feel they need Glock 9mm semiautomatic pistols with large 20 or 30 round ammunition clips? Get seven or eight of these clips with you 9mm Glock and a gunman can fire of over 200 rounds plus into a crowded public building before the police can even get a chance to respond. The NRA is scoring the Issa Contempt of Congress vote on AG Eric Holder. We should be declaring war on the NRA outlawing it as a terrorist organization. In Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand, its almost impossible for a civilian to own or buy a 9mm Glock or an AK-47 or any other type of semiautomatic pistol or assault weapon. These other English speaking countries also enjoy fewer massacres from these types of weapons.
If you do your research on most major gun massacres in America, you will notice that virtually all of them have one thing in common: a gunman using a semiautomatic pistol(s) with large ammunition clips, frequently 20 rounds or 30 rounds each. Go do some digging and you will find out this appalling fact. Most Congressmen or women realize that we must someday outlaw civilian ownership of these semiautomatic weapons and their large ammunition clips. In good countries that value human life, these types of firearms are strictly regulated and only used by police or the military. In good countries, like Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the United Kingdom citizens do not have to worry about gun massacres of innocent people in public places. All of these countries will have varying degrees of firearm violence but they are miniscule compared to the United States. Weapons of war, which are what all semiautomatics with large ammo clips are, need to be kept out of civilian hands period. The only exceptions are police or law enforcement officers. All you need is one mentally unstable American to get a hold of one of these semiautomatics with a bunch of clips, and entire families can get wiped out of existence in just a few moments while being in a public place. What a hell of a country we live in thanks to the NRA, the greatest terrorist and mafioso organization of them all.
And somewhere in Cleveland there are still people burning pictures of the money-grubbing traitor in effigy no matter what issue he tries to attach himself to in order to improve his media image.
who cares is right. all sports players get paid way too much money for me to get excited about who wins and who is the best.
Who gives a damn about Lebron and the Heat
F--- Them
The only thing pro athletes give to the world is bastard children, wrecked sports cars....they are paid for too much for giving nothing to society. Really shows how little priorities we have as a society. Teacher, police, firefighters...they enrich lives, they save lies, these guys play a game and are paid millions......what a stupid idea.
Whoever on the Ed show staff thought this was important is an idiot
I've had to deal with them, while some are just wealthy, quite a few fit your description perfectly Cynical.
I congratulate the Heat and the Thunder should not hold their heads down because they played one hell of a game.
They won it all right. Had a little help from the officials. Game 3 was the sorrest officiated game I have every seen, also game 4, the officials called fouls on people that re-runs showed never committed, they then changed it to another person. How do they get away with that. And you say they won it out right!!
