During a speech in Cincinnati Thursday, Mitt Romney claimed "the policies the president put in place did not make America create more jobs."
But Romney's claim about jobs is demonstrably false. There’s been 27 consecutive months of private sector job growth:

The key to a Romney victory is convincing Americans they are worse off today than they were four years ago. Republicans hope this message resonates most strongly in the crucial swing states that will give one of the candidates the necessary 270 electoral votes:

The only problem for Republicans is the most crucial swing states are actually experiencing better economic fortunes than the rest of the country, including Ohio, Michigan and Virginia.
Meantime, the Obama team has released its first national radio ad aimed at African-Americans. Enthusiasm remains high for the president in the black community. The president has a sky-high job approval rating among African-Americans:

The president easily beating Romney in a head to head match-up.

No need to convince me Mitt endorses the Ryan plan.

In 2008 the election was great!
In 2010 Lets not do it again!
In 2012 Get the Democrats in!

The Republican keep millions unemployed so they can put one man out of workl
This is a follow-up comment for something posted elsewhere yesterday.
Pres. Obama did the most remarkable thing today.
He issued an executive order to stop deporting people that grew up in the United States.
It looks like mass racist hallucination started by Faux Media is finally ending.
At least some people are becoming immune to the mass hallucination.
Where did the economy collapse first?
California, Nevada, and Arizona.
Why?
Those are the first places where cities start stealing cars from undocumented immigrants.
Over half a million dwellings were abandoned, which triggered a foreclosure boom.
1.7 million people left the US after the Patriot Act legalized discrimination in 2006. That allowed states to outlaw Mexicans, which happened first in California, Nevada, and Arizona.
Doesn't make any difference if the occupants own or rent. Doesn't make any difference if they are documented, undocumented, or citizens.
There isn't any such thing as a mystical magical mortgage fairy that pays the mortgage for landlords that rent to immigrants.
Stuff still gets foreclosed.
It's not like abandoned dwellings haven't been on the news.
According to the urbane capitalists of the Clinton years; it was a protectionists' trade policy to keep Americans employed in a global economy. Now there seems to be an urgent need to reward 'job creators' who bailed on America then held it hostage for a king's ransom after their free trade fantasy failed by 2006-2008. That's the vision of hindsight on the success of NAFTA coupled with a deregulated banking system. It's the same experiment in economics that occurred in the late 1970s with deregulating the airline industry while reforming the bankruptcy code and then recalling the 1980s and the risk of flight as the unions were sent through the ringer several times for their pensions and healthcare funds. That's how success was toasted at the predators ball.
More black lite posters...

Maybe this will be more understandable than the comment above?
Yep- I think Ed's chart is right. NC and SC and WI to Obama rgardless of recent actual events. Arizona, NM and FL? No worries- you goofballs got it in the bag.
You are not qualified to think you just repeat.
whom- ditto
Wrong rusty. Here is a hint research how this map was made up before you open your mouth and show how little you know.
Here's a better hint, wait until November and see the actual map after the election instead of dealing in prognostication. Anything could happen between now and then, so this map is meaningless.
Right because this map doesn't show your magic underpants guy winning so of course you don't agree because you are trying so hard to make democrats think they won't have a chance so they stay home, just like a good little Igor.
You are a sad, sad, sad little creature looking for conspiracies in every comment.
Wrong but then righties are never correct.
Sorry but I read the Koch brothers pamphlet they sent out when you applied to their Craigs list ad. Goal one distract and try to make democratic voters feel that the election is hopeless for Obama so democratic voters stay home Nov 6th by going on left leaning blogs like the Ed show and repeat that Mittens is the man.
Jobs and the economy are very , very, important, there are other things which scares me about Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan's budget, and the Republican extreme party. Do anyone remember what these guys want to do to Social Security and Medicare? They want to give the rich more tax cuts, but how will they be paid for? But kicking and stomping on the middle class. And Romney talks of what the President haven't done, okay what's his plan to create jobs? He wasn't a job creator, not at Bain Capitol or as Governor. As Governor, Romney laid off 14,500 teachers, policemen, and firefighters. We already know he thinks they aren't real Americans.
AD- When Republicans say Obamacare will bring Death panels, they are passing phooey. When Democrats say Republicans (fill in the blank- Social Security, Medicare, etc) they are passing phooey.
How many teachers, policemen and firefighters has Obama fired, to use your words? Bet more than 14,500.
Obama fired none because that isn't the job of the president, that is the job of Mayors and governors. All the president can do is ask congress for more funding to provide states with more money to hire fire fighters, police and teachers, but it is up to cities and state officials to decide to hire or fire. Really lost on just how government works aren't you rusty.
So a Governer fires teachers? Firefighters? Policemen? Must be different rules in that state. And unfortunately- you do understand our how government works- The Fed gives money so firemen and such can be hired.
Right rusty just more proof you have no understanding of civics. Governors hire fire state police as well as deciding which counties receive federal money. Mayors hire fire city police/ fire fighters, school admin decides on teachers. Leave it to rustys spin and twist logic, if you can call it logic, to make a simple lesson into more. But in the end rusty fails again to show where the president is hiring or firing anyone when that is not a presidential duty.
lol- Quite a stretch there goofball. Heck yes Mayors and School systems hire and fire teachers, police, firemen, etc.
Heck yes Governors have a say into state finances that can determine those levels. I find it a riot that you use the example of the state police as proof Govs hire and fire police- yet you disavow the President does the same. Doesn't the President likewise hire and fire FBI, etc?
The president doesn't hire or fire anyone except his staff.
http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/faqs
Guess what rusty your still talking about nothing you have knowledge of. The president only puts people up to head these directorships he hires no one.
goofball- do you think the Governor fires teachers, etc? You'll need to explain your illogical position that Governors fire people who work for cities, school systems, etc. If you mean Govs fire people metaphorically- then so do Presidents.
Have you ever had to fire anyone? Ever been fired? I'm betting no to the first, and yes to the second. And I'll bet it was for poor performance or attendance. You seem like the type of gal that wouldn't do to good of a job.
No you are saying something I never claimed. School administrators hire and fire teaching staff. But leave it to you to try that type of dishonest ploy of putting words into another mouth because you lack reading skills. Typical tea bagger buffoon tactic. Governors hire State police directors who then hire and fire officers. Now what the Governor can do is not give county's and districts federal tax dollars thus ensuring that counties have to lay off and fire staff like police and fire fighters and teachers. Leave it to you to prove you don't understand how government works.
Didn't your mommy tell you that good little girls don't make up lies. Boy I bet your mom is ashamed of her daughters behaviors that you young lady display.
OK goofy, Let's go back to the start- ADarton made the comment that as Governor, Romney fired these types of people. I asked him how many did Obama fire? You then decided to wade in, and to a situation where it is obvious you were ignorant of the subject at hand. Then you argued against what you claim here at the end..
Bigger question- have you added value to any conversation on these blogs, ever? Are you capable of any congruent thought? I just find you extremely amusing- and I am always reminded that people wiithout the ability to actually think are the ones who typical vote opposite of the way I do. It's reassuring to me to realize that- When I see your thoughtless, attacking ,meaninglless ramblings and then I see that others actually agree with you- sort of scares me that we may indeed be in trouble if ever you reproduce to any extent.
Right rusty you are such a saint even though you are a dishonest lying republican who refuses to post anything remotely factual, but rather empty talking points and Fox news made up news rewrites. Funny how you whine about attacks when there is no one you haven't insulted or attacked personally from day one that wasn't one of those who agreed with your fact less posts. That you show a lack of education on any given topic or try to change the topic into what you want is also clear with your own questions when you don't like Ed's topics. So another words rusty don't come on Ed's blog thinking you are smarter then we are you are not, playing innocent victim is laughable at best.
whom- ditto goofball.
BYE BYE rusty, all you proved was how little you know then like a true 10 year old you try to play the old I'm rubber your glue nonsense, when its clear you know less then a 5th grader.

whom- you most likely meant "you're". It is a different meaning from "your". That 5th grade punctuation really stresses you...
All I can say is If this projected map of election were to be true the Obama needs to bring himself to Missouri and campaign because these people are so far right I want to move from here. They are not clear on any of the facts here.
Let's see, Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas, and Texas....It is amazing that they are so isolated from the real world that they will never change. Figure it out? The reason Florida is Blue? When so many Southern states are red?

The Koch Brothers Exposed

Today Brave New Foundation announces our latest campaign. A campaign where we will take on one of the single greatest threats to our democracy: The Koch Brothers.
With Outfoxed, we exposed the unbalanced propaganda that is Fox News.
With Wal-Mart we uncovered the damage done to our country by the high cost of low prices.
We exposed the war profiteering in Iraq For Sale, and we were on the frontline of questioning what we are doing, and doing wrong, in Rethink Afghanistan.
We fought against insurance company greed in the battle for health care with Sick for Profit.
We halted the history channel from smearing President Kennedy.
And now we aim our focus at the Koch brothers.
With a net worth of 43 Billion the Kochs have already spent decades of their lives and over 324 Million of their wealth exerting their influence. The Kochs accomplish their goals by funding a massive array of right wing front groups, think tanks and tea party efforts. They largely operate outside of the public eye, and target their funding to infiltrate public opinion, the media, judicial decisions and legislation. Over three dozen organizations are funded by the brothers, and they spend additional money lobbying and backing conservative candidates. Everything the Kochs do is to fight for a country free from protections and any degree of a social safety net for working Americans.
You might recognize names of some of the organizations that the Koch brothers fund. Americans for Prosperity is their Tea Party effort. They fund the Cato Institute, the Heritage Foundation, the Reason Foundation, the Institute for Justice, the Mercatus Center at George Mason University, the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies, the American Legislative Exchange Council, and many many more. Through their massive funding efforts, they have fought against health care and are fighting against protecting social security, as well as fighting efforts to halt climate change, and fighting against LGBT rights, Immigration rights, unemployment insurance, environmental protections, the rights of unions to organize and educational opportunity, just to name a few areas they focus on
When we started our research four months ago – inspired by Jane Mayer’s brilliant New Yorker article and Lee Fang’s great investigative work at ThinkProgress – we thought that a big part of our job was to bring attention to the Koch brothers. Boy have things changed over those months!
With their secret meeting in Palm Springs, brought into the light, and with their involvement in the atrocious happenings in Wisconsin, the Koch brothers have worked their way into the attention of a concerned public.
Now, as we get set to launch our investigative campaign, we circle back to the reason we began this project. As with the best of our work at Brave New Foundation, The Koch Brothers Exposed allows us to connect the dots. To understand how the system works. And how the system doesn’t work. To understand that there is a different set of rules for those with power and access than the rules faced by those without money and access. The Koch brothers play this game by using their wealth and foundations to fund efforts that will increase their wealth at the expense of others.
The Koch brothers are using their BILLIONS to make more money, and to advance their right wing agenda on the backs of those who have less; a lot less. They are not alone in this effort. Their size, wealth and scope makes them noteworthy (as was Wal-Mart), but it is important, even as we call attention to so many of the horrific groups and issues they are behind, to realize that they don’t exist in a vacuum
The Koch Brothers represent the latest reality in our country. A reality where the wealthy use the system to get wealthier. A world where the powerful game the system so as to access even more power.
Brave New Foundation will work tirelessly to expose the Koch brothers. This new campaign will be like none ever done before. The film will be broken down into issue-focused chapters, each released individually with a flurry of action around them. This campaign will live in film, online actions, grassroots efforts, community gatherings, ground actions, multi-media coverage, artistic components and collaboration with the larger community that is ready to take action. We have the wonderfully talented AgitPop onboard to help expose the Koch brothers, and will be working with many other progressive organizations to increase the shared impact of this effort.
As we begin to investigate, expose and connect the dots, we’ll need all the help we can get. We have a number of surprises in store for the Koch brothers. At this point, it’s those of us who care about the future of our country verses those who believe they can buy that future for their own profit
ED, The chart does in deed show growth, but there is no correlation between the growth and Obama's policies. Successful people will find a way to be successful not matter the obstacles. Could you support your conclusion that Obama's policies increased job growth by including Obama's policies that correspond with the month job growth? For example the chart shows significant growth in Feb, Mar, and April of 2011, what Obama policy specifically was responsible for that growth? And if there was in deed a new policy, why did the growth drop the following months?
It is easy to assign fault for the housing crisis to the Democrats because of the abolishment of the Glass Steagull Act under Clinton and the changes to the Community Reinvestment Act pushed by Frank and Dodd. Here there is a direct correlation between policy and the housing crash. I see no such correlation between Obama policy and job growth? What policies caused the job growth ED?
