A member of the media shouts at the president while Obama was delivering remarks on immigration at the White House on Friday.
In a stunning display of rudeness, a reporter interrupted President Obama's speech on a new immigration policy in the White House Rose Garden this afternoon.
Obama was visibly upset after the man, identified as Neil Munro of Daily Caller, shouted out a question in the middle of the president's remarks, "Why do you favor foreigners over American workers?"
"Not while I'm speaking," Obama said in a sharp tone. "It's not time for questions."
Monro stopped talking and the president continued his speech, which was about his plan to stop deporting younger illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as children.
Minutes later, Obama addressed the man during the speech again, saying the plan was the "right thing to do for the American people." That's when Munro tried to speak over the president again.
"I'm answering your question ... I didn't ask for an argument," Obama said.
This is just the latest incident in a string of disrespectful beahvior towards our commander-in-chief, from Joe Wilson's "You lie!" shout at Obama during an address to Congress in 2009 to Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer's wagging finger in Obama's face in January of this year.

The vast majority of people that will fall under this amnesty program will be Hispanic who are often in competition with African-Americans for jobs. With black unemployment already at the sky-high level of 13.6% (black males were at 14.2%) for May 2012 it would seem that more competition would be a bad thing. Plus, we have to factor in that the number of people immigrating (mostly illegally) will rise due to these favorable policies.
Also, while you can argue that many of the jobs that immigrants do are jobs that many Americans don't want - we also must realize that they drive down the value of jobs - thus wages and benefits will decrease across the board. Again, in many fields where immigrants and African Americans compete. Plus, it will create more competition not just in the job market, but in schools, college admissions, social services, etc.

What's really important is these are innocent people who consider themselves American and know nothing else but this country. Wherever you got your numbers from might also have data from previous years so we can see how 3 out of 10 compares. It would be interesting to see.
The data shows that the economy is improving - I suggest you go back to the posts from last night. I think the policies that the Republicans have blocked could have aided in the recovery.

30% (rounded up) of all teens were employed = 70% of all teens don't get them.
So there are a whole lot of teenagers who don't look for summer jobs.

Conclusion: Teenage unemployment is really really high and has increasing dramatically and we have a broad explanation about why. We need to grow the economy. And it looks like there is an Immigration component as well, so Immigration reform would help.

Unemployment just went up to 9.1 % in South Carolina, rising for the first time in 10 months. You would think with summer jobs unemployment would be falling. Not good news for the Pres.

One thing to remember is that the unemployment number we commonly use is a percentage of people in the job pool - (working + looking for work) - who are looking. It does not include people who are not looking (very young, very old, disabled, in school ... and given up). In the summer, more people are looking - more young people are looking for summer jobs.
That is one reason you have to be cautious when you see a rising or falling unemployment number. A falling number could mean people are giving up (this is bad). A rising number could mean that people are more optimistic about their chances and are starting to look (this could be good).
Another thing to remember is that you need to look and see if the number is "seasonally adjusted". If you compare a graph of the same data, the adjusted one is fairly smooth while the not adjusted one looks like it WAY too much coffee - all twitchy and jagged.
Fed If republican would stop with the Austerity program they are pushing and tax the rich a little more and get rid of tax cuts for the rich and then start a jobs program that other blue states have done your unemployment would be lower.

Ed, I fine it interesting you are covering the altercation between Obama and the Reported vice Obama's complete abandon in making such a policy absent of Congressional action. The important thing here is not a rude reporter, but Obama's assumption of the role of Dictator. How is it one man can essentially abolish laws enacted by Congress in accordance with the Constitution? A year ago Obama himself said he did not possess the power or authority to act without Congress, what has changed? If the President can decree immigrations laws will no longer be enforced and grant amnesty without Congress what exactly are the limitations to his power. Can Obama Legalize Drugs? Obama has already violated the War Powers Act, killed a US Citizen without due process, killed a Border Patrol Agent with guns walked over the Mexican Border, and now he is essentially disbanded Congress. When will we start calling him King Obama?

As for the guy arguing with the President after the speech, I thought that was the point of a press conference? To ask the hard questions that your readers/viewers want to know about? This isn't the Kennedy administration where everything is covered in kid gloves and a wink and a nudge. Immigration is a hot topic in the nation. It's going to generate controversial questions. The reporter at the President's press conference who rudely interrupted the President should have had his press credentials pulled and been promptly escorted out of the Rose Garden by the Secret Service. He should not be invited back either. Journalists have every right to ask tough questions of our political leaders. But the rude reporter yesterday became the story himself rather than covering the story for the public. I sort of thought that interrupting the President during his remarks was really taboo as far as etiquette is concerned. No matter how much you may dislike President Obama or disagree with his policies the rudeness shown the president is really showing contempt for the whole entire government and democratic system.
The conservatives are angry because they really have no counter to the President's policies of allowing this group of young adults to remain in the U.S. The Dream Act should have been passed long ago but the GOP has obstructed it. Children of undocumented workers who have been in the U.S. for most of their growing up years have no connections to their country of birth. Most of these children can not even speak the language of their native country because English is all that they speak. These kids are America's children and to send them back to their country of birth when they have grown up here is stupid and wrong headed policy.
If you are Mitt Romney you have to feel some desperation. Mitt Romney has taken the suicidal position of being opposed to the Dream Act. The Hispanic vote is the fastest growing segment of our population. They are now our largest minority. Most Hispanics strongly support the Dream Act. If Mitt Romney can not win about 40% plus of the Hispanic vote, he will lose the election. So the President's policy move is not only the right thing to do for human beings, which what Hispanics are, but it is also smart politics.
The only other group Republicans can hope to make gains are with independent women voters. With GOP Governors like "Vaginal Probe" McDonnell and many other GOP governors putting restrictions on abortion, Planned Parenthood, family planning and birth control programs, and women's reproductive help, the GOP is setting themselves up to rule in the 19th century rather than the 21st century. Independent women voters will go to President Obama in significant numbers regardless of how much Super-PAC money goes for negative advertising. If you are a chauvinist bigot who hates Hispanics, families, children, women, immigrants, and health care the GOP is a wonderful place for you to be. If you support basic human dignity then vote for Democrats and President Obama. The GOP is the party of xenophobic bigots who want to treat women, families, and Hispanics like cattle or farm animals. What ever happened to the idea of looking at people like they are human beings with intelligence, basic dignity and human rights under the rule of the law? The GOP supports an extremist right winged type agenda that dehumanizes Americans of good standing. What could be more anti-American than this?

Cite all the polls you wish, most of us know the election will be close but the GOP is out of touch with reality. Most people realize that the GOP has blocked the American Jobs Act that would have created more than one million construction jobs building much needed infrastructure. The GOP would rather sink the economy and create more problems for Obama while regular Americans suffer. Congress has to pass jobs bills, infrastructure bills, and other bills that help businesses with contracts that create jobs for the unemployed.
All the do nothing GOP Congress does is obstruct, filibuster, and sit on their butts while Americans are struggling. Help for people struggling with home foreclosures? Mitt Romney says let them bottom out. Help for the ailing auto industry in 2009? Mitt Romney says let them go bankrupt, never mind that GM and Chrysler make tanks and vehicles for the military and that national security would be hurt by the automakers bankruptcy. Where was the GOP when President Obama asked to pass the Dream Act? The GOP filibustered it in the Senate. So Mitt Romney has an uphill climb in the industrial Midwest where the auto industry is important. The Hispanic vote is also important in the Southwest like Nevada, Arizona, and in Florida. The GOP being against the Dream Act will cost numerous states needed for any Republican to win the White House.
The GOP has two very serious problems with voters. Young women under 30 hate Mitt Romney and they hate the GOP's radical policies of antiabortion, anti-family planning and birth control, and anti-women's health. Hispanic voters support the Dream Act that President Obama supports. College educated women despise the GOP. Many Hispanics have noted Mitt Romney's threatened veto of the Dream Act. The Hispanic vote is critical in many battle ground states including Florida, Ohio, Virginia, and Pennsylvania and across the industrialized Midwest. Independent women will also be avoiding the GOP because many Governors in Ohio, Florida, Virginia, and Pennsylvania have been pushing radical anti-women's rights treating women like doormats. These two groups will be solidly behind President Obama in November and will push him over the 270 electoral votes needed to win. The GOP will lose this election because of the anti-women's reproductive health and anti-Hispanic vote.
Most literate Americans are also aware that most of the debt has come from the Bush tax cuts and the two wars under President Bush that were dropped on President Obama's lap when he walked into the White House. The $1.3 trillion deficit won't go away with two wars and tax cuts until well into Mr. Obama's second term. It took eight years of GOP policies to get America into a big deep hole and it will take at least eight to get America out of that hole. Truth hurts doesn't it?
Problem is truth and these tea bagging republicans don't mix well, they will deny and continue to try to make this all about Obama much the way they did in 79 with Carter. The only hitch to their plans is the guy their over lords picked is so disliked by everyone except the GOP base that Mittens isn't electable they know that which is why they aren't touting Mittens greatness like they did with Reagan.
Also notice the crowds that show up at Obama speaking events are even more telling. Ohio, Obama had 1500 people show up to hear him speak on the other side of the state mittens had a crowd of 200. That doesn't bode well for Mittens and the tea bagging republicans have shown desperation on left blogs with their heavy handed tactics of trying to discredit Obama, a sign that they know money may not buy the white house the same as it did Wisconsin.

Remember when Boehner got elected as Speaker on a "jobs, jobs, jobs" platform? The first bill introduced was to restrict funding for Planned Parenthood. The GOP has pushed over well over one hundred bills to restrict abortion in 2011 and 2012 at the state level. The GOP governor and legislature in Virginia introduced a "vaginal probe" bill for any woman who wants an abortion plus they make her pay for this unwanted procedure that many women are calling state sanctioned rape. GOP Governors and legislatures in Michigan, Ohio, New Hampshire, Mississippi, Wisconsin, Georgia, and other states have all introduced bills that reduce family planning and birth control programs in these states or restrict access to abortion services for women.
So why does the GOP hate women so badly? Women according to the GOP should be treated like second class citizens or a doormat. The GOP ought to be ashamed of themselves. The GOP has a radical ideology that they want to shove down everyone's throats. The GOP always bitches and whines about too much government regulation and small government is better blah, blah, B.S. But the GOP expects Big Government regulation into every women's bedroom and into her womb to get their desired outcome. Family planning and birth control is a woman's issue but the family planning and birth control programs should be paid for by the state. First of all abortion is legal in this country and has been for many decades so forget about overturning something that was legalized and then making it illegal again. Second of all who appointed you to tell a woman what she can or can not do with her own body? If you don't like abortion don't get a woman pregnant unless she wants to have your child. Rex, There is a big difference between Family Planning and Contraception and Murder or what you call abortion. Equating Abortion to Murder is not a 19th Century concept. In the Criminal Courts if a Pregnant woman is killed during the commission of a crime, the suspect is charged with two counts of, you got it Murder. So I ask you, why is the voluntary killing of a child in the case of Abortion any different that the killing of a child in any other crime? The end result in both cases is the child is dead.
Why do you limit the killing of a child to the pregnancy? If your logic were sound should a mother be able to kill her child at two, three, or any other age? I see no difference between killing a child during a pregnancy and killing a two year old.
