I think the operative word here is VISION! Obama has it Romney only has 1% vision. It would have to be in my opinion in my own words would have to equivocally with absolute certainty and with out a any doubt be OBAMA!
I know Obama has a better economic vision.
Romney's re-run with 3D glasses is still a re-run. Don't want to see that movie ever again. It sucks.
Obama/Biden - FORWARD !!
Hi Tacoma Kathe!!!!
The three Ds are Doom Death Depression?
kathe, not only re-run but re-reg! we know who will get the job done.
obama/biden 2012.
Well DUH! Maybe if I win Megamillions I'll be a Romney supporter. Until then, Mitt can keep his "unemployed" status.
Romney doesn't have a vision for America. He has a vision for the wealthy. The rest of us are out of his sight, and out of his mind.
We have 2 remember also, that Romney don't have a vision 4 the middle-class & working poor.
Phyllis,
Romney DOES have a vision for the middle class. He wants to put them in the working poor class as soon as he can.
Heard of "Serfs"?
DAVID H. - ROMNEY has no clue what it's like to be unemployed..Anyhow,if he was unemployed,he would be FLAT BROKE like everyone else that's unemployed.Which means that he's still getting kickbacks from BANE.
Now we are talking some sense!! People need to start waking up and smelling the turmoil in America and realize even if they don't want Obama in office, you sure as hell don't want Romney or you are surely not going to have a job when this man gets in office, because the middle class will be destroyed!
he could cash in his bonds like he did in college at HAA-VAAD. one cannot see without spectacles, oh my! no vision...
Romney's vision would collapse the economy, and the reasons need to be advertised.
Obama needs to claim his accomplishments and identify why these bring down unemployment.
OK.
Number 1 is a no brainer. Bachelors degree reduces unemployment 50% and doubles income. Government costs are repaid at a rate of 10 to 1 in the form of increased tax revenue, so grants and loans are not an economic burden.
Number 2 is a no brainer. Lower interest rates increase consumer demand. More jobs.
Number 3 becomes obvious only after you realize housing abandonment that caused the real estate collapse did not happen because people were raptured to heaven ;)
Number 4 and 5 saves $billions$ and reduce unemployment by increasing consumer demand. Dead people and prisoners tend to stop shopping. US incarceration rate dwarfed the rest of the world under Bush, and the US is the only developed country without socialized medicine.
Romney's plan is to do the opposite. Can you say disaster? I know you can.
You shouldn't need to be a retired nuclear rocket scientist to figure this out.
That's a no brainer question.... except for the 4% brainless trolls in the site who are as usual functioning on their primitive brains. President Obama's vision is definitely better for America and is what this country has always been based on. Robme's vision is only beneficial to the wealthy and the corporations, and will ultimately destroy America.
Indeed C.H. I think it would be a good idea to make up our own signs with the TRUTH on them! Would be a BIG sign though!!!
Scully: The job creators JOBS JOBS JOBS!
The President doesn't need a vote from congress to put the military in PARK!
@xxx ooo
Exactly... Robme's vision is the one he thinks is more advantageous for the 1% only, but certainly not for America as a whole. He's running for Corporate CEO President of the 1%.
Yes... jobs and President Obama has already surpassed GW Bush's job creation record with 4.4 million jobs in less than one term in office, than Dubya did in 2 terms (only 3 million jobs)... before the economy started it's slide over the cliff and Bush lost 8 millions jobs in his last year.
They are acting true to form...Obama HIRE!....Romney FIRE!
Mitt can get some more GOLD if gets into the Olympics as a ballerina! No one can pirouette as fast as Mitt!
xxx ooo,
Gold brings up an important point.
How many jobs does $1 billion create while it sits in a bank vault?
Zero.
Wealthy people don't create jobs.
Consumers do.
Indeed! Romney secret agent Double 0 nutten Goldlinger's on to create no JOBS!
Scully have you read this?
Mormon readers amongst us may be familiar with this prophesy, but most of us aren't. The White Horse Prophecy is a statement purported to have been made in 1843, by Joseph Smith (founder of the Mormon religion). According to the prophecy, the Mormons would "go to the Rocky Mountains and … be a great and mighty people", identified figuratively with the White Horse described in the Apocalypse of St John. The prophecy further predicts that the United States Constitution will one day "hang like a thread" and will be saved "by the efforts of the White Horse". "A terrible revolution will take place in the land of America, such as has never been seen before; for the land will be left without a Supreme Government, and every specie of wickedness will be practiced rampantly in the land. Father will be against son and son against father; mother against daughter and daughter against mother. The most terrible scenes of bloodshed, murder and rape that have ever been imagined or looked upon will take place." Smith believed that the US Constitution was written by the inspiration of God and that the Mormon religion would save it – and America during this time he prophesied.

Crack- for what its worth the federal reserve does not set the prime rate- 2 year t bills is already at 27 basis points or so- hard to go much lower
Most native americans might recognize this particular LDS prophesy.
Lakota, Hopi, Cherokee, and most other tribes share this belief. LDS leaders became aware of this early in the development of the church.
This is an "end time" prediction.
White buffalo became rare after the great bison slaughter following the civil war.
There were none for over 100 years.
Pure white buffalo calfs began to be born again about the time Clinton was elected.
@Crackhead
I agree that Robme's plan will be a disaster and President Obama does need to claim his accomplishments and make them known over and over, while saying clearly why Robme's plan will destroy the country. He seemed to be using that tack in his speech today in Ohio.
As to your points...
Obama did streamline the college loan program, by eliminating the middleman bankers who were taking all of the profit with none of the risk, and slowing down the process while making loans more expensive. Now the problem he has to contend with is the Repugs wanting to let interest rates increase on student loans.
I'm not sure why you think deportment has something to do with houses being abandoned. I thought that has been mainly related to the result of bundling and speculating on mortgages on Wall street which resulted in the mortgage collapse and caused many people's payments to suddenly be raised beyond their ability to pay. So Obama's plan to give those who are underwater with their mortgage help in refinancing is a solution he needs to keep promoting to solve that problem.
Also.. I didn't know that there was a death penalty for those who can't afford health insurance, other than the one imposed by the private health insurance companies themselves. Of course, the enactment of a public option or universal health care added to the ACA would solve that problem. You are correct, we are the only advanced nation without socialized medicine... due to the regressive GOP thwarting all attempts in favor of private companies profiting from people's illness. It's a damn shame and even a sacrilege.
Also.... are a lot of cancer patients being imprisoned for possession of weed? I agree that those caught in possession of weed should not be arrested, but simply fined and given community service. Marijuana possession should be reduced to a misdemeanor rather than a felony. Of course, use the medical marijuana is legal here in CA... though it is still not recognized by the Feds.

Mutt's money does even less... as it is mostly in bank vaults in the Cayman's out of the reach of American tax policies.
How many jobs does 2 trillion dollars create sitting in an offshore account where the CEOs of America put it?
C.H.A. There are even more than just buffalo that have turned white. I think we could be witnessing a gene in the animals that make them more protected in a world with snow and ice. An Ice Age! The magnetic pole is shifting but I wouldn't think that would cause it. But a shift in the axis would. The earth wobbles and has had shift in its axis in the past. Are we due???

Dude - that is so not true.
All US dollars belong to the Federal Reserve. They literally own the economy.
That is why all the money in your wallet says "Federal Reserve Note". Each piece of moony in your wallet actually started its life as a loan to a commercial bank.
The Federal Reserve Prime Interest rate is set by the Federal Reserve (not somebody else).
Banks "buy money" from the Federal Reserve and lend that out at a rate about 3% higher than the Federal Reserve.
Money that is printed/coined is not spent. It is sent to the Federal Reserve, and the Federal Reserve sends it to banks.
Every piece of money created by the US government enters circulation through the Federal Reserve as loans.
This link shows the current Fed interest rates.
Banks actually create more money than the Fed by loaning out long term personal savings. Each $100 in savings becomes $80 in loans. Banks "create" the $80 out of nothing when they loan out your savings.
Banks are required loan out no more than 80% of savings so that 20% remains available in case people want their money back. This is called margin. FDIC is the insurance company that protects banks in case too many customers want to cash in their savings a the same time.
The Federal Reserve is a private corporation established by US law to manage banks. FDIC insures them.
Pres. Clinton signed a law in 1999 that allows wall street to sell stocks, and that money is loaned out. This is called a derivative, and derivatives create money the same way that a bank creates money.
The problem with derivatives is that they are unregulated. That lack of regulation is one of the underlying causes for the Great Recession of 2007.
@xxx ooo
The only thing in your post that I have heard and confirm is true is that members of the church do believe that the forefathers were inspired in forming our Democratic government. They believe that the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution are inspired documents. They also believe that the American continent is a blessed land, a promised land, just as Israel and Jerusalem are favored and blessed by the Lord.
But I have honestly never heard anything about a horse prophesy, or Joseph Smith thinking or saying that the church will have to save the country, or anything else. I have read all of Joseph Smith's writings and prophesies and multiple histories/biographies about him. If this were true I would have heard something about it in all the years I was active in the church.
As far as the description of the Apocalypse in Revelations, the only thing I've ever heard taught in the LDS church is that those events would occur in the Middle East... not here in the US. So Mormons are not familiar with the supposed prophesy you mentioned any more than any of you are, most likely because it is nonsense and another fabrication of the anti-Mormon groups.
xxx ooo,
The Gulf Stream has been pouring about 2 cubic miles of hot water into the Arctic Ocean every hour since the last ice age ended.
Hot water has a tendency to melt ice.
Pretty much 100% of scientists agree that the Gulf Stream is going to completely melt the Arctic ice cap in the next 40 years.
It became possible to cross between Norway and Japan through the Arctic Ocean in 2009 for the first time in 20,000 years.
Melting Arctic ice has nothing whatsoever to do with global warming. This began long before humans started burning oil and coal. We are just speeding up the process.
This has already created much wetter/warmer conditions over Russia, Canda, Norway, Finland, and Alaska.
Nobody has the slightest clue what is going happen when the Arctic Ocean gets warm.
Hot water near the equator causes hurricanes.
Can you imagine what would happen if a hurricane got loose over the north pole?
Republicans want to cut off research funding because oil companies are giving them big money to do that, kind of like how tobacco companies made cancer sound like a good thing to California voters.
This situation is so stupid that I can't fart loud enough to express my opinion.
Scully,
Ditto.
Mitt "Brain Damage" Romney is so removed from the average person that he has no clue about how to make unemployment better.
The economy is improving under Obama because he is increasing human capitol.
Banks shut down college education loan program by turning down everyone that had bad credit when the recession started. That stopped unemployed people from getting the education they needed to move into a new job.
Obama fired the banks from the student loan program to eliminate that problem. That allowed people like unemployed realtors, building contractors, and mortgage brokers to get another job.
Education is one reason why unemployment is going down.
Republican policies involving increasing the student loan interest rate has stopped students from going to school.
Scully,
Population has to increase to maintain the value of real estate.
Real estate value collapses when the population declines. We proved that in 1929 and again in 2007.
Half the total net worth of the US exists as real estate value.
The birth rate in the US does not keep up with the death rate. The only increase in population comes from immigrants and from people that live longer.
Almost 2 million immigrants fled the US between 2007 and 2009 after the Patriot Act allowed states to outlaw Mexicans.
People that stop living in the US have a tendency to stop making rent/mortgage payments in the US. Those rent/mortgage payments have a tendency to stop being paid to US banks. Banks have a tendency to foreclose on homes when that happens.
That left about half a million dwellings abandoned and unoccupied.
Half a million foreclosures collapsed real estate values so bad that it left mortgages upside down.
Everyone knows California was the first state to outlaw Mexicans. That is why the housing market collapsed worst/first in California. Homes in southern California lost half their value.
Forced deportation and self deportation are both deportation.
Deportation makes the population decline, and declining population reduces real estate value.
Romney and his kids want to collapse real estate even worse so they can buy more.
That is why wealthy people are lying about how increased immigration causes unemployment to drop and real estate value to increase.
Thanks Scully that's why I asked! Its too bad so many people have made things up to discredit others.
C.A. I was talking Ice Age but many believe the oceans thermohailine if it stops it would cause an Ice Age. I watched the Nova video and had some new info. But no one can really say how long a MAGNETIC pole reversal would take. Even my cat who looked black is turning brown but I have noticed that before each spring I think it has something to do with the wild critters he's eating! Edgar Cayce in his readings said the axis would shift.
Foresaw a shift of the Earth's poles around the millennium
In the late 1920's and early 1930's, Cayce was the first to describe the concept of the shifting of the pole as a result of the crust of the Earth moving independently from the core of the Earth to bring different a surface area over the spin axis. During the past 30 years, this concept has received more and more attention by geophysicists, some of whom now seriously argue that the crust does move independently. Some geophysicists now also argue that the best way to explain a variety of paleo sea-level and other data is that it moves and shifts fairly frequently and more rapidly than previously imagined.
Cayce predicted changes to the Earth surface to begin some time between 1958 and 1998. The cause of these dramatic Earth changes will be the shift in the world's magnetic poles around the year 2000. Cayce predicted that when this pole shift occurs it would begin reversals in the world's climate so that:
"..where there has been a frigid or semi-tropical climate, there will be a more tropical one, and moss and fern will grow."
Cayce's prediction of a pole shift occurred in 1998. According to NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, in 1998 something changed the Earth's gravitational field which moved the magnetic poles closer together. The NASA article explained that as the ice on the poles melted, ocean currents moved water toward the equator, which factors researchers believe to be partly responsible, in conjunction with shifts in atmospheric patterns, for this ongoing shift in the Earth's magnetic field. This NASA finding affirms Cayce's prediction of a pole shift.

From what I've gathered so far the correct answer to this article is: c. None of the above
Until we get elected "leaders" with the INTEGRITY to admit our nation has a Bi-Partisan deficit spending addiction that is in desperate need of an intervention, especially for the deficit spending bender that started under President George W. Bush (and hit high gear under President Barack H. Obama), we are going to be treading on thin ice !!
From what I can see President Obama's answer is to increase taxes before cutting spending and Presidential candidate Romney's answer is to decrease taxes before cutting spending. Those are both WRONG ANSWERS !!
We need the next President to either put the Simpson-Bowles recommendations into action or come up with some viable alternative into action to address our $16 Trillion, equal to our annual GDP, U.S. National Debt !!
I believe across the board cuts are needed for every department and program of our Federal Government, along with working on simplifying it to eliminate duplication of services or functions, and AFTER (and only after) those cuts are in place, we need to return to the Clinton era individual tax rates (which were close to the ideal compromise between a progressive system and one that rewards economic success).
We also need to lower the oppressive 35% corporate tax rate and replace the impossibly complex corporate tax system with a simpler and fairer system with fewer exemptions and deductions so the largest corporations aren't paying the smallest percent of taxes (thanks to their "friends in high places" and armies of tax accountants and tax attorneys) and the smallest corporations aren't paying the largest percent !
Some good points But Obama really has overreached across the isle. And got kicked in the teeth for it!
Hi xxx ooo,
I enjoy this topic.
No research explains how the ice caps were created. Republicans shut that research down about 10 years ago before there was an explanation.
In order to get a glacier you have to have evaporation, and that requires hot water.
Need several millimeters of evaporation daily to make enough snow. Arctic Ocean needs to be 60F or hotter to do that.
The thermohaline draws hot Gulf Stream water down to the sea floor so only about 10% reaches the Arctic Ocean right now. The thermohaline acts like a refrigerator that cools the sea surface. That keeps the Arctic very dry.
The Gulf Stream is driven by tidal forces, so it would slow down but it cannot stop if the thermohaline is interrupted. Solar heat would still accumulate at the equator. That would create a pool of much hotter water in the North Atlantic.
Much more Gulf Stream water would enter the Arctic Ocean without the thermohaline.
Hot water in the North Atlantic would circulate into the Arctic instead of being drawn down to the sea floor if the thermohaline circulation stops. That would create gigantic "lake effect" ice storms like a hurricane.
Can't get an Arctic ice cap any other way.
The only source of ice right now is frozen sea water. Ice is a good insulator, so water can't freeze more than about 100 feet thick. Can't get glaciers that way.
Might get several feet of ice in a single storm with hot water in the Arctic.
That would devastate Alaska, Canada, Russia, Norway, Sweden, and Finland. Whole cities could be entoumed.
@xxx ooo, RE: (Comment #1.19)
There are enough reasons to vote for Obama / against Romney without mentioning religion.
@All, the only "vision" Romney has is courtesy of an orthographic accident, namely that "vision" happen to be the 2nd and 3rd syllables in "revisionist," as in revisionist history, as in all the lies he tells about what Obama has done or not done, that Obama is responsible for the deficit spending caused by 2 unpaid for tax cuts, 2 unpaid for wars that weren't even accounts for on the books, an unpaid for Medicare Part D, termination of Pay-Go and the ancillary unpaid for budget items associated with that termination that happened during Bush-43's Administration. As the chart Ed loves to show indicates, the overwhelming majority of the deficit increase since Obama was inaugurated are due to the 2 unpaid for tax cuts.
As Gov. Brown so poignantly said about Meg Whitman's plans to get California into the black, doing the same thing and expecting different results is insanity.
Unfortunately, there is one very significant difference between G. W. Bush's economic plans and Rominomics/Ryanomics: that is the "on steroids" as former President Clinton first said. As most Americans have yet to recover from the Great Recession, given that real unemployment is at least double the official unemployment rate, and will only get worse as troops return from Afghanistan and opt to become full-time civilians again.
Therefore, if Romney's elected, given the economic problems in the Eurozone, along with the economic slowdowns in China and Brazil, the US won't be just facing a double-dip recession. Analogous with a human, who doesn't allow sufficient time to recover from an illness like the flu, will end up having a relapse and get much sicker, the US's double-dip will be the "straw that broke the camel's back," causing the 2nd Great Depression - on a global scale, with very few countries immune.
Crackhead
But deportation of immigrants was not the main cause of the current housing crisis, nor did it cause the collapse of the housing bubble. In fact, I would bet that many if not all of the illegal immigrants weren't home owners... but renters at most. So their being deported or leaving for other reasons wouldn't have had much of an effect on the home mortgage problems.
Those problems were caused by the bundling and speculating on bad mortgages on Wall street which resulted in the mortgage collapse which then caused many people's payments to suddenly be raised beyond their ability to pay. Of course, the huge job loss at the same time also had an effect on many people's ability to continue paying their mortgages also.
Also.... I don't recall California "outlawing" Hispanics.... and there are certainly plenty of them still in the state... most of them born and raised here I'm sure. I know that one of our former idiot Repug governors.... Pete Wilson... did run a campaign against illegals about a decade ago. He was also the one who destroyed the states economy by making shady deals with Texas energy companies, etc.
I find it both enlightening and scary as hell to read many of these posts.
Obama gets a pass from the Main Stream Media and this roomful of malcontents.
Obama has NEVER accomplished anything except getting elected! He has more vacation, golf outings and debt than any other President... in 3/12 years. The guy is a liar and a bad joke... and the fact that so many of you still support the absolute worst President in American history just proves how blinded you are by your socialist ideology.
He definitely has an Economic Vision for our nation though - Bankruptcy!
w. bush is the LIAR, and the lies he told to get us into the iraqi war are not even close to covering it, although that may have been ONE OF THE WORST. he lied when he was gov. of texas, he lied all dring the recount in florida, down to the high risk voting machines that were used in two counties.
w. bush is the LIAR who got us into this economic mess we are in today, the mess that president Obama is trying to get us out of WITHOUT THE HELP FROM THE REPUB PARTY per their promise to each other to fiibuster every jobs bill President Obama puts forth.
you all must agree with what the repubs are doing.
when they ask, "where are the jobs"? they are LIARS too, because they fail to mention what responsibility they hold in NOT CREATING JOBS for the american people.
they act as if they can't do a thing without a repub leader, poor repubs. but they have shown they can be led by the worst president in history, the LIAR w. bush.
Scully,
while i don't know alot about the mormon church, when i was younger and loved a good debate, i would invite mormons and jehovah witnesses into my house when they came to my door.
the mormons have told me that the book of mormon is the most true book ever on on earth, starting with its founder joseph smith, and then brigham young.
i have heard (not from mormons) and read that there have been many changes to the "original" book of mormon, thousands of "grammatical" changes made since the book was written. i do not know when these changes were specifically made to the book of mormon, but i do believe that there must have been a time when the leadership of the church decided to make their religion more palatable and mainstream to its members and to the general public.
in 1978 when it was decided that "blacks could receive priesthood" i really think that this was just a way to make their religion more acceptable to mainstream america, and their church members. i suppose it is possible that some leader of the church thought he heard god's voice telling him it was "time", but this change is just one of many to a book that was thought to be perfect in its originality.
i believe we would all be a bit naive if we did not believe that the "leadership" of the mormon church would not want to hide its "dark, filthy and loathsome" feelings toward people who they feel/felt to be "cursed". i believe the mormon church is trying to cover up their racist ways in the eyes of those who are "accepting" of the things the mormon leadership has taught them to be true.
they say that the changes that have been made to the book of mormon are not significant, but why don't they just apologize for their prejudicial teachings (of the past?) and denounce the words in their "extra bible", instead of changing them to make them more accepting, while "pretending" that they were never writtten in their originality?
there have been various articles in the Salt Lake Tribune about changes that have been made as recently as 2007, 2008, perhaps later. are the authors lying about the changes that have been made? some changes have been made without listing them as 2nd, 3rd, or 4th edition changes (i don't know how many editions there are of the book of mormon).
Scully,
There isn't any such thing as a mystical magical mortgage fairy that pays the mortgage for landlords that rent to immigrants.
Stuff still gets foreclosed.
1.7 million renters left after the Patriot Act legalized discrimination in 2006.
That left over half a million dwellings unoccupied by 2010 when the policy changed.
It's not like abandoned dwellings haven't been on the news.
Can you explain which brainwashing organization says that isn't a problem?
There isn't any get-out-of-jail-free card for this.
@xxx ooo
Thank you for asking and I'm happy to clear up any misunderstanding. Unfortunately... Mormons are all too familiar with the made up things designed to discredit and disrespect them. It has happened since the early days of the church, when church members were actually raped, killed and driven from their homes.... in this land of religious freedom.
In fact the nickname Mormon was originally given to members of the church by those persecuting them and was used by those religious bigots as a derogatory term.... just as racist bigots use the "N" word as a derogatory reference. It was only in the past 30 years or so that the church has adopted the nickname itself, taking the sting out of it.
Now I have a question for you, if I may... regarding the beliefs of other churches about the blessed nature or consecrated status of this country. I was a Catholic before joining the LDS church as a young adult, but I wasn't really very familiar with the doctrines or beliefs of the Catholic church regarding those issues. Plus since the Catholic church isn't an originally an American religion as the LDS religion is, they probably don't have particular beliefs along those lines.
Nor am I familiar with the beliefs of other Christian churches concerning these issues... so any insight you could give me would be appreciated. I don't know what religion or church you belong to, if any. So can you tell me... is the idea of America being a blessed or consecrated land in the sight of God an unusual one? Because if it is a common belief of other Christian churches in this country, then maybe this is another confirmation that the beliefs of the Mormon church aren't really that different from other Christian churches.. as much as those other churches would like to believe.
Frankly... I have always thought that was sort of the idea or premise given in our founding documents such as the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution also. The patriotic idea that by virtue of being a country founded under the laws of equality for all and the many freedoms given by benefit of our Constitutional government, that the USA is a country blessed above all others. Which is the reason so many have wanted to come here from other countries seeking freedom and liberty... and is even mentioned on the Golden Door in the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty.
Anyway... having been a Mormon and knowing what the true doctrines and beliefs are in regards to Jesus Christ and his teachings, I have never thought the churches teachings were that different from other Christian churches. At least not as different as they seem to think or like to believe.... which has left me puzzled about their insistence that Mormons are not Christians.
In my opinion, there are only some slight differences in "understanding" of Christian doctrines between Mormons and other Christian religions. And in my view, they are such slight differences, they shouldn't matter, but apparently to some of those other churches... they seem to make all the difference in their view of whether or not Mormons are Christians. It's all very puzzling and pretty ridiculous as far as I'm concerned.
@Dope
Boy are you way off.... or most likely your are purposely just here to spread nasty lies.... as the putrid stench of a troll hangs on you. This proves you wrong.... so PleaseCutTheCrap!
A LONG List of President Obama’s Accomplishments!
If you’re one of those folks who thinks President Obama is a “disappointment,” you haven’t been paying attention the last few years. And those of you who believe the lies you hear on Fox, from the GOP and Mutt Robme... you should put away the hallucinogens and the wacky tea and have your head examined. Please join the real world.... and read on.
So far, this president has done most of what he said he would do if elected; at least what the GOP haven't obstructed and blocked. Imagine what he could have done by now if all of those who had voted for him in 2008 had gotten their butts to the polls in 2010 and voted against the TEApugs who took over the House. Unfortunately he ended up with a Congress who refuse to support anything the country needs to have done... even causing a downgrade in the country's credit rating.
Not only is he NOT a “disappointment,” he’s pretty much the opposite. And not just because he took out Osama bin Laden, helped Libya determine their own destiny for the first time in a while, and because he seems able to handle international incidents without starting a new war. The guy does nearly everything we elect a president to do, and he doesn’t brag about it constantly.... or stand on aircraft carriers with big MISSION ACCOMPLISHED signs behind him.
Is he perfect? No, he’s human. Does he deserve some criticism? I suppose, but so far I haven’t seen any complaints from the right wing nuts that were based on anything having to do with the reality. As far as I'm concerned, aside from his annoying habit of bending over backwards to be bi-partisan with the idiots of the GOP, on balance, he’s mostly stellar.
Criticism about certain specific issues is one thing; but refusing to recognize all the Obama has been able to accomplish even with the obstruction of the Regressive Right has the potential to put Willard Romney into power, and all that he stands for.... ultimate power and control of the 1%. Just because you wanted a president who could fix everything immediately and didn’t quite get that doesn’t mean he’s not doing well at the job we hired him for.
What follows is a PARTIAL list of Obama’s accomplishments so far. Unlike many such lists, there is a link to a citation supporting every single one.
Legislative Prowess
Despite the characterizations of some, Obama’s success rate in winning congressional votes on issues was an unprecedented 96.7% for his first year in office. Though he is often cited as superior to Obama, President Lyndon Johnson’s success rate in 1965 was only 93%. http://n.pr/i3d7cY
Fiscal Responsibility
Within days after taking office, he signed an Executive Order ordering an audit of government contracts, and combating waste and abuse. http://1.usa.gov/dUvbu5
Created the post of Chief Performance Officer, whose job it is to make operations more efficient to save the federal government money. http://n.pr/hcgBn1

@suzette
I agree with everything you had to say about GW Moron and the GOP @!$%#s currently serving in the government. They don't mind taking salaries and benefits provided to them by the taxpayer, while doing absolutely nothing to help those tax payers. Meanwhile they are also collecting a tidy sum from the corporate lobbiest who are bribing them and paying for their votes. It's infuriating!
As for you question regarding the Book of Mormon... NO there have never been any corrections or alterations made to the Book of Mormon. To my knowledge it is now as it was when first written or dictated by Joseph Smith. So that information you mentioned is incorrect, where ever you got it.
It is also evident that you have never read the Book of Mormon and have absolutely no idea what it is about. It is simply a history of a group of people who lived anciently on the American continent, who were also children of God and followers of Jesus Christ.... and who were led by prophets just like the people in the Bible. The Book of Mormon is written in the same kind of language as the King James version of the bible.
The Book of Mormon also has nothing to do with any of the revelations that Joseph Smith received nor the revelation about the priesthood being extended to blacks in 1978... so those things were not added to the Book of Mormon after it's publication. In fact those revelations are in a completely different book or volume called the Doctrine and Covenants, not in the Book of Mormon at all. This fact shows the lack of true information both you have as well as the sources from which you have gotten information.
Of course, you are free to believe whatever you want to believe, even lies you seem to want to accept regardless of what I tell you. Unfortunately... there are a lot of people with that same attitude who watch the Fox propaganda network and believe completely the lies they hear there about President Obama every day. I don't see much difference between their ignorance and acceptance of lies, and your willingness to do the same about Mormons.
By the way.... I have always tried to be an open minded person... willing to listen to others views and learn from them when I could. I have also invited Jehovah's Witnesses into my home, but not to debate them or have an argument with them concerning their believes as you say you have. But instead I was only interested in asking them questions about their beliefs in order to understand them better. Your initial mention of your desire to debate them instead of learn about them indicated to me a rather closed mind on your part I'm sorry to say.
Crackhead
I don't recall saying there was a "mystical magical mortgage fairy". What I did say was that it wasn't the deportation of illegals that caused the mortgage crisis, and to be honest, I think it's somewhat ridiculous for you to insinuate that it did. Having a tenant get deported isn't going to cause a landlord to default on their mortgage. They simply FIND A NEW TENANT TO RENT!
Okeeboy post # 1.7,
U got that right!!!
with all due respect, Scully, there is nothing wrong with a good debate. this does not mean my mind is closed, i have learned many things from many people during a good discussion/debate. just because i disagree, doesn't mean i do not respect their right to have their beliefs.
i hardly doubt if mormons or jehovah witnesses go door to door expecting converts every time. i have had very lively and interesting discussions with these people, and have learned much about their religious beliefs, and where they stand on social issues. i was raised lutheran. when i was a child i heard many people say that catholics were going to hell. i have many catholic friends, and have learned much about that religion, but i don't want to be one. i don't want to be a mormon, or a jehovah's witness either. actually, i am an agnostic. i might be an atheist, but i was raised in a "christian" home, church every sunday, christian camps in the summer, etc. i really didn't get to choose my beliefs, as none of us do. they were thrust upon me by the people who gave me life, passing their information on to me. i believed it, and it became faith. it wasn't until i became much older that i learned to question, and not always accept things at face value. i am also very curious, and intuitive.
on the other hand, you seem very defensive of the mormon religion, not aware of some of the more common "accusations" against the book of mormon and the "religion" itself.
i have read parts of the book of mormon, it was years ago, however. the changes i have listed below are changes in the book of mormon in regard to "cursed" lamanites.
before 1981: 2 nephi 30:6, "and then shall they rejoice: for they shall know that it is a blessing unto them from the hand of god; and their scales of darkness shall begin to fall from their eyes, and many generations shall not pass away among them, save they shall be a white and delightsome people".
after 1981: 2 nephi 30:6, "and then shall they rejoice; for they shall know that it is a blessing unto them from the hand of god; and their scales of darkness shall begin to fall from their eyes; and many generations shall not pass away among them, save they shall be a pure and a delightsome people".
2 nephi, chapter 5 before the change: "because of their unbelief, the lamanites are cursed, receive a skin of blackness and become a scourge unto the nephites."
2 nephi, chapter 5 before the change, "....the lamanites are cut off from the presence of the lord, are cursed and become a ...the nephites."
mormon chapter 5, before the change, "the lamanites shall be a dark, filthy and loathsome people."
mormon chapter 5 after the change, "the lamanites will be scattered, and the spirit will cease to strive with them."
like the leadership of the church, you might feel these changes (if indeed these changes are accurate) are insignificant. i have read articles in the salt lake tribune about this, and other places. is the salt lake tribune lying about the changes to the book of mormon?
it is OK if the mormon church wants to make mormonism more palatable and accepting to their members and others. there must be a reason why they found this to be necessary. i just do not understand why they don't acknowledge their beliefs about "blacks" before god "told" them to become more mainstream.
suzette..... with all due respect? Is that what you call challenging me with false accusations and lies and expecting me to defend them? I also think you have a rather interesting as well as an incorrect idea of what a debate is.
In my estimation, a debate is when you find 2 differing views on a point of doctrine or belief and then debate or discuss the reasons or evidences that prove that belief or point of doctrine. It again is NOT making a false accusation or lie about someone's religion and then asking the person to defend that false accusation or lie. Yet this is what many do when attempting to "debate" Mormons... by telling them their religion is not Christian followed by a string of complete lies about the religion.
I don't have any reason to be defensive of the Mormon religion.... as it is not the religion that is at fault here (though I can understand why some Mormons would be defensive when approached in that way over and over). What is aggravating and insulting is how many supposedly "open minded" people in here who are going to anti-Mormon sites to obtain false information about the religion... instead of simply asking an actual Mormon or former Mormon who could actually give them the truth.... especially when I have openly and repeatedly offered to do just that.
They seem to be more intent on finding negative or false information that they can use against Robme, without a thought that by doing so they are also making false accusations against millions of others who share the same faith. That's not even factoring in the hypocrisy of it.... as all of them come in here regularly and berate the GOP and Robme and the trolls who come in here, for the multitude of lies they all tell about President Obama. Yet they are doing the same thing by making false claims regarding Mormons.
That is what I've tried to point out to some in here over and over... along with the fact that there is not a religious requirement for the office of the President and by people bringing Robme's religion into the discussion... they are again doing one of the things we criticize the GOP for. Their false accusations that President Obama is a Muslim and not a Christian, as if that should disqualify him from being President.
Once again.... 2 points you are incorrect about. I don't know of any corrections that have been made in the Book of Mormon. It has been the same the whole time I was in the church... which was 1977 to the early 2000s. Also... the people being discussed in the Book of Mormon are not black people or African people... they are people who came from the Middle East. So any comparison to people of African descent is simply incorrect.
President Obama's Plan takes care of all Americans , Mitt Romney's plan is only for 1 % ers. President's heart is with middle class, poor, seniors, disabled, women, students, veterans and others. Mitt Romney is going to eliminate all such programs except what will make the rich the richer.
I agree with U 100% Sen!!!
Phyllis 2.1 : Thank you. I don't understand why any 99%ers will vote for Mitt Romney.
@Sen & Phyllis
Hopefully most of the 99% will show up to the polls and vote for President Obama..... that is if they are allowed to vote what with the voter suppression going on by the Repugs. Hopefully steps will be taken to continue to make sure that no one is disenfranchised from this Civil right. That is what we have to worry about.
I am still upset and alarmed by the weird speech Romney gave today in some warehouse in Cincinnati. He was really talking nonsense. I am not not just worried, but alarmed at the thought of him in the white house. He was talking about WWII vets carrying torches and all kinds of crazy stuff. My husband was going, "What the H.... is he trying to say?"
Even if I were a Republican, if I had watched that speech, I'd be really wondering if I wanted this oddball draft dodger in the white house, who may well be nuts! Forget that his policies are terrible, let's take a second look and see if this man is sane. I mean, before it is too late, America.
Romney is trying to get the KKK to vote for him.
That is why Romney won't criticize white supremacist birthers nut jobs.
@India
I didn't see anything any more nutty or ridiculous than what he's said in the past. It was just more of the same lies he always tells... he's still just trying to appeal to his rightwing nut base. He still has to convince them he's conservative enough for them. Plus he has no decent plans of his own except going back to GW Moron's failed policies... so he has to run down what President Obama has accomplished.
And the whole spiel about the veterans carrying a torch was just hypocracy, pure and simple. Which is also nothing new for Repugs or Robme. Lawrence O'Donnell did a good rewrite on Robme for that one... what with his draft dodging Vietnam, etc.
So Robme's problems aren't necessarily insanity... at least not any more than is the result of being Repug with their primitive brains in charge. And remember... aside from Huntsman... Robme was probably the least extreme and absurd of the clown show.
Love your post-and will use the "robme" name from now on. Not only is it accurate on many levels, but very creative. Now we just have to get the elected Dems all over the country to educate the public, tell the public where to get the facts to back up that 'education' and put the Republicans on the defensive. I've been telling that to elected Dems for years, that they need to get a backbone or the entire country will end up Republican, thanks to Rove, Fox and the other liars.
@moderatemom
Are you talking to me? and I said that in my best De Niro accent. lol If so, thank you... though I got the Robme name from another blogger and liked it myself. I agree with you completely about Dems needing to get tough, get a backbone and call out these @!$%#s in the GOP for all the lies they tell.
We need to get the TRUTH out there of WHO CAUSED THE PROBLEMS AND WHO HAS KEPT THE ECONOMY SLUGGISH FOR THEIR OWN POLITICAL AGENDA. Fortunately... Fox, Turdblossom Rove, Turtleman McConnell and John Bonehead have not been able to convince the majority of the lies that the economy is President Obama's fault. Most know that GW Moron is responsible for it, and many are figuing out that the GOP have prevented a recovery more than helped.
By the way, are you sure you are a "moderate".... you seem fairly liberal and progressive to me. Nothing wrong with that.
@ DScully post # 2.3,
Your 1st & 2nd points R the only 2 things that can prevent President Obama from a 2nd term.
@Phyllis
Yeah.... I know. That is what worries me and why we have to make sure that people who might be targeted with the voter suppression laws have the ID they need, and that voter registration continues regardless of the stricter requirements the Repugs are putting on it to discourage it. They are just despicable.
The Presidents of cousre --- RobUS/robMe has NOTHING to offer - NOTHING - he Hasnt got a Clue and it is truely unbelievable that Any Americans Actually support this Gomer !!!!!
Indeed the common man vs the corporate man. Romney can't stomach anyone worth less than a few million. BTY who's gonna be your VEEP Mitt?
Nobody for VP.
Romney/Nobody 1812
lol!
hehehehe, he's toooo full of himself, there's no room for a veep!
No one wants to be on this losing ticket.
Mitt Romney/Montgomery Burns 2012 LOL
He is just waiting for Mittosis so he can be both. Nicknamed Flip & Flop Romney!
Mittosis. Good one.
TRC...
When I was posting on the AbleMinds Forum, my user name was No Body...
The only reason I would accept such a nomination, would be, if we actually won, I could sabotage Romney and, if necessary, arrange some sort of 'accident', say near a grassy knoll...
Which choice would you make for Mutt's VP?
A. Extremely wealthy Daddy Warbucks
B. Millionaire Thurston Howell, 3rd
C. Billionaire Bruce Wayne
President Obama is the only one who has a vision for America.
The Republicans have a strange kind of tunnel vision; they are looking backwards, backwards to the failed Bush policies. Backwards to what caused the recession in the first place.
They seem to be stuck on stupid!
INDIA - Don't you mean BASS ACKWARDS ? That would be the right definition of ROMNEY's ideas for this country.
Ted::: That is the way jassacks (or is it ackjasses?) go-- bassackward. And the only thing you can do to them is to hit them hard between the ears with a 2x4.
Republicans aren't stuck on stupid.
Romney has brain damage from a car accident.
Dain Bramage ¿
The Republicans not only have tunnel vision, they have an absolute ability to distort their own history and then push their lies, distortions and phobias into so many American minds it is scary. They hold Reagan up as a wonder-he was a wonder all right, a wonder of a man who had been long in corporate pockets, pushed corporate agendas and left taxpayers holding the bag of a huge deficit he created.
It enrages me to see Republicans on television because they cannot hold a real discourse with others. They shout instead of talk, they constantly interrrupt anyone else who is speaking, they smirk and push lies to the front, and when they cannot back up anything with facts, they start talking about immigration or abortion to sidetrack all real problems we face.
Just once, I would love to see one Democrat or one talk show host stop them by stating they are being rude and must let everyone have a chance to talk without being interrupted, and shouting must stop. That rudeness needs to be pointed out and strongly. It is no wonder that supporters of Robme have gone around in groups using bull horns to disrupt meetings of Dems who are running for office- they've seen it work on television talk shows.
@Crackhead
Last night I went into my email account attached to Newsvine, as it's not an account I go on very often. I found an email you had sent me awhile back with the following....
First of all... your accusation that I "believe there is no concern regarding any crimes or mental fittness," and that I "don't need Romney or anyone else to produce any of these documents," is false and I have never said either of those things. In fact, being a former teacher and speech therapist who has worked with many individuals with Autism and Aspergers Syndrome, I have even expressed a concern myself that Robme might be affected by the latter, due to his seeming unemotional and uncaring manner toward other people, not to mention his penchant for saying off the wall and insulting things such as about cookies offered to him, etc. People with Aspergers have a tendency to do those sorts of things while being very detached from the feelings of others.
So whether Robme's behavior is caused by a previous concussion or some other organic disorder... I agree they do create cause for concern and Robme's fitness for office. But while Democrats do consider qualifications such as intelligence, policies that promote fairness for all, not just the elite, and mental health, etc. to be significant considerations... this is not a consideration of the Repugs.
Repugs don't take into consideration things silly things like fitness for office considering they put the first Moron up for the office of President a decade ago. Plus they seem to only be looking for a puppet who will sit in the Oval office and do what he is told, sign the bills they want signed, start the wars they want started, etc. This explains why their requirements for their candidate for this office are so low.
You also accused me of 'attacking you every time you bring up any of this up in the future? True? Not true?' To which I respond, NOT TRUE. The only thing I have ever called you on regarding any of this subject matter, was when you were accusing Robme of "murder" because of the car accident he was in. As I stated at that time, an accident is just that.... an accident, NOT MURDER. Besides the fact that the articles you presented as evidence of Robme being a murder instead said that the other driver had been drinking and was at fault for the accident. So I was merely pointing out the inconsistency of your accusations and supposed proof.
So I say once again as I have before... I don't like Mutt Robme and I certainly don't want him to become the President. I think his policies would be another disaster for this country. But just as I don't abide Robme, the GOP, Fox, or the trolls that come in here telling lies about President Obama... I also don't abide lies and false accusations being made about Robme or his religion. Does that clear things up?
Hey Ted, sweetie
I got your email also and will respond as soon as I can. Thanks for your support and would you really cry if I left? lol
*hugs*
Romney is just going to take us down the same bad road as Bush did. NOT doing that again.
Chocolatekat why is Romney wasting his time & billions of dollars on campaign ads, when he is sing the same old song. Don't Tax The Rich!
the same reason Obama is even though he is singing the same old song...Tax the rich..!
And NOT taxing the rich got us a trillion dollar deficit. See GW Bush Presidency. You teabaggers aren't up to much on how our economy works, are you...
Please tell all of us which "rich" people are not being taxed .
the reason we have a trillion dollar deficit is the the government continues to spend more money than it makes. It is a very basic math principle that Democrats and Republicans seem to forget.
just saying...
Taxes on the rich or anyone else for that matter have not been raised during the Obama presidency.
We need to bring in more revenue to pay off the debt not revenue neutral bs. Spending within our means is a great bumper sticker but it does nothing to help the debt. Perhaps if didn't already owe money that would work but that isn't the case. The faster the debt is paid down the faster we can lower everyone's rates again but the longer we prolong that necessary action the more we will owe.
We ave tried the GOP plan whether anyone likes that or not. The tax structure hasn't gone up. Regulations are being enforced at a break neck pace. Increasing defense spending and lower taxes which are at historic lows in the first place
CC...
I have no problem with rolling the tax rates back to what they were during Cinton's administration as long as you roll back all of the rates, not just those on the upper income earners.
How do we know if spending within our mean does nothing to help the debt...we haven't tried it in the last 12 years. Obama is running an annual deficit of over $1,000,000,000 each year he has been in office. If we had a constitutional amendment requiring the government to run on a balanced budget, that would be a step in the right direction.
Yes, we need more revenue into the treasury and that comes from creating jobs...and not Federal Government employees. We have to resurrect the manufacturing base in this country and create goods which can be sold around the world. We have to be competitive again.
just saying..
Because we already have debt, common sense. I thought I made that really clear. Apparently not. Balancing the budget does not add more debt but it does not help that which we already have. Making no new debt does nothing about the already present debt. So balancing the budget is not enough and you can't balance a budget by growing any part of the budget while further lowering taxes. Taxes will go up or the debt will America and the people who are whining and holding that up are the people who will not the will have trouble with the sacrifice they will have to make. Now when we get that all done we need to fix all the remaining systemic issues that lead to it and ensure that the foundation of our nation's prosperity, it's middle class, is not forgotten.
Now on constitutional amendment that is much harder than it sounds and takes quite a while..if we have to wait till that point to start any of that it will take...well it will be too late by that point
and on constitutional matter congress controls the money we can not let them get off with not doing their job...the only thing that leads to is an expansion of executive power. Look at real history and see as the congress has grown increasingly defiant and disfunctional they always want to blame the president and thus the president is held more accountable for things that should be out of his/her job and in doing so takes more fo the government power that congress is relinquishing. In reality the president is supposed to be a diplomat and deal with matters of defense, that's it. Sounds almost foriegn to what power we have unwillingly allowed the executive office to acquire.
Now on jobs manufacturing will never come back to this country not really, not unless some serious inovation comes first but we will never win factories away from countries which treat their workers like garbage. We can not and not try and beat them to bottom either. Not acceptable.
@Stormy
Yeah.... and the majority of people in this country agree with President Obama's "old song to tax the rich". Even the majority of Repugs agree with it. Of course, those are the poor and middle class Repugs, not the greedy rich Repugs like the Kock bros., the Adelson troll, or that idiotic baffoon D. Trump.
By the way, the deficit that has been ticking up by the Trillions during Obama's administration is the interest on the Bush Tax cuts, 2 wars he started and a Big Pharma giveaway of Taxpayer money.... which only left senior citizens with a big donut hole in their medication plans.
None of Obama's policies have added to that deficit, as his policy plans have been paid for including the ACA, auto rescue, etc. and paid back with interest.
Romney wants less government the way criminals want less cops !
My brother-in-law posted that on facebook today. This is at least the 2nd time he has done that.
Romney is running 4 the Highest Government Office in the Land. That's 1 government job he don't want 2 eliminate!!!
Jack Flash
Dude.
Email that to John Stewart, Stephen Colbert, and Jay Leno.
I posted this yesterday but its still relevant, go figure! Play the blame game is what they do. So the people who have and still are losing their jobs and homes and more are to blame? Who set up this house of cards? The people who got a loan? NO?! So they lose their job because the banks bundled the low mortgages sold them and they went bust! Who is to blame? The people who lost their job because the economy went bust. Why did it go bust? because the people who had the mortgages didn't have a job. Because they couldn't make a payment because they lost their job, Why? So now some think the way to solve the problem is to take the jobs away from the people who get paid from taxes! That way we won't be spending tax money to reduce the deficit and balance the books! So now these people are collecting unemployment benefits from tax dollars and looking for a job and the might find one close to where they have their home that has a mortgage which they must pay to keep their home. They didn't lose their job because they didn't do their job, but now the job they had is no longer getting done. These people have a name, they are called lazy non-contributors and are BAD! So these lazy people can't find a job/s that will allow them to make a payment on their mortgage and are evicted if they can't refinance their mortgage and lose it to the bank. So if they can't they have lost their home and must relocate if they can find a place to live and may need to ask for help in the way of welfare & food stamps to exist. The bank now has a house that it may or may not be able to sell. If the house can't be sold and they know it can't it calls it a loss and writes it off and is backed by insurance or the tax payer or both. If not it is left to the local government and if not occupied or sold by auction for much less than its original or assessed value its demolished and is a total loss and the cost of its destruction is passed once again to the local government which is the taxpayer. So the people who lost their home because they lost their job is because the bank who made the bundled loans that failed that caused the failure because the greedy people who used a loophole in the regulations because they could. They knew it would happen and it could have gone on even longer but they picked the the day hour and minute when the house of cards would come crashing down. And along with it they took all the equity away form the people who had the mortgages and when they did they left it up to the FDICA to save the country from sure ruin. And now not a single thing has really changed, and they are doing it all over again. But this time it will be worse than any attack by outside force and so if not taken under control it WILL be the end of this country democracy and freedom of which we hold so dear.
President Obama because he wants to invest here in America and Obama wants to end the bush tax cuts and starting tax the rich so we can start fixing our roads, bridges, schools and what not. Also Bring jobs back to our country and start making stuff here again where is says made in America. Obama plan is awesome and he cares.
Why can't Romney say that he would do more of the same 4 America? Because he made a pack with the Corporate Fat Cats.
It is obama that shipped the jobs to brazil, korea, china, russia, mexico. Why is he going to change his mind now that he is on such a role?
I haven't heard of any jobs romney will kill. He has said he will let the ones obama killed come back though.
Gary Johnson has a plan though, but no option in the vote.
Romney didn't have to make a deal with corporate fat cats. Romney IS a corporate fat cat.
Phyllis-3324111 Mitt Romney is nothing but a liar he could care less about the 99%
@slackbrainbob
Robme has said over and over he will kill jobs for.... teachers, police, firefighters to name a few. By the way, President Obama hasn't killed jobs, he's created 4.4 million jobs in less than 4 years.
GW Moron only created 3 million jobs in 8 years and lost 8 million. What a job killer. Robme plans to use Moron's same policies and strategies to kill jobs and add to the deficit.
Get it slackbrainbob?
@Xena
Exactly.... that's what I was going to say.
Didn't you right wing trolls remember Mitt Romney's lesson on WI.....that we need to get rid of teachers, police, and firefighters because they're big government
how will Romney create jobs? he has never once put out any speech, effort or plan to show. It would appear he expects us to take him at his world...well guess what I won't do that........I'd be willing to vote or Romney is he proved how he would make things better and could do a better job. He has never done that.
If the goal is for the the RICHER TO GET RICHER, ANSWER: Romney
If the goal is for the middle class and poor to have a chance, ANSWER: Obama
If people do not know the difference between GOP & DFL then they shouldn't be allowed to vote. Forget voter ID, we need to have a ten questions before you vote.
Obama's economic vision is not working at all!!!!!
Over 40 months of over 8% unemployment...
Over 40 million people on food stamps.
Over 12 million people out of work...
Don't forget this one, idiot.
Over 200 filibusters.
all those numbers are the republicans fault.
Why don't you go crawl under a rock?
Obama's economic vision is working stupid right wing
don't foregt, stupid, that President Obama cannot do this alone. he is not the only one elected to LEAD.
it was very easy for the repubs to be led by the worst president in history, they signed onto everything he wanted, and LOVED all of it, especially the ILLEGAL war in iraq which cost over a trillion dollars, a war that bush KEPT OFF THE BOOKS. ask mitch daniels, and other repubs.
unfortunately for the repub/conservatives/baggers, they are too blind to see that the american people blame them and bush for the deficit, and they blame them for the obstruction in washington.
stupidita must have a note pad handy with all his/her stock posts. same ones over and over. get real!
All the result of eight years of George W. Bush/Dick Cheney AND the past three and one-half years of WE HAVE ONLY ONE GOAL FOR AMERICA, MAKING OBAMA A ONE-TERM PRESIDENT. Nothing else matters.
Ms. Nigeria is too lazy to come up with new "stuff". Must be no phone in her hut.
Hey stupid,
Remember?
Bush collapsed the housing market, automotive industry, arab world, started two unfunded wars, AND bankrupted the federal government by cutting taxes for the wealthy.
G.O.P. response?
Lie about everything, elect white supremacists to the house, and filibuster the senate after the US voters correct the stupidity by election an after African American PhD that immediately implements programs that drop unemployment.
amen, ca! awesome post.
There would be plenty of jobs if you just let obama through a few more hollywood bashes at the white house, give him the money you rino's. Another lavish party will help his moral so he can waste some more of our money.
How do you know he has a phd? Have you read this thesis?
Not counting unemployed people not working does not end unemployment, it just hides it.
If bushes unfunded wars cost so much, then why when obama ended the iraq war has spending not slowed down? There should have been a drop in borrowing with a whole war gone.
Obama just ran out of money to bribe them to vote for his ideas.
Democrat controlled house, democrat controlled senate, democrat controlled white house. How are the republicans supposed to stop them from passing the obama tax cuts?
You shouldn't post comments while drunk. You're talking gibberish.
Ron # 9.1....

slacker,
Both Obamas got their doctorates from Harvard. How is it possible that you don't know that?
You might enjoy this article.
You do understand people still have to be paid when war ends.
Right?
You can't just go psycho and fire everyone the next day.
All of the recruits that worked in Iraq signed up for 2 to 5 year tours. You don't just court-martial everybody when the war ends.
Contractors have contracts that run 2 to 5 years. The federal government can't just stop paying contractors when the war ends.
These cost obligations were started by Bush #2 and they won't decline until 2014.
Don't forget this one, idiot.
Over 200 filibusters.
200 what????
Bush collapsed the housing market, automotive industry, arab world, started two unfunded wars, AND bankrupted the federal government by cutting taxes for the wealthy
Oh that's right I forgot it was bush that called millions of people on the phone and told them to stop makig their house payments!!!
Next the bush tax cuts are for everyone......
Obama's economic vision is working stupid right wing
Yea it's working so good manufacots are closing, banks are closing, no new start up compaines, over 12 million out of work, over 4o million on food stamps.
The highest unemployment sence the 1930's...
The debt is now more than the GDP!!!!
It ain't working..
stupid,
the repubs know exactly what they are doing when they refuse (filibuster) to allow public sector jobs to pick up the slack from the private sector.
this is exactly what they have done in the past during a recession. they know that this is what gov't does until the private sector is strong again.
in keeping with their promise to EACH OTHER to say "no" to every economic proposal President Obama puts forth, and by signing grover norquists pledge, they have taken power away from the president to do what he thinks is best for the country. i hate to give repubs credit, but this is exactly what they have set out to do, to make it impossible for a democratic president to "lead". they are so concerned about having a "leader", but, face it, they don't want to be led. they do not want to do what the american people sent them to washington to do. ALL THEY WANT TO DO IS TAKE DOWN A PRESIDENT (mitch mcconnnell, anyone?).
lets not forget the repubs were LED BY THE WORST PRESIDENT IN HISTORY. they are accomplices and are to blame for this economic disaster, just as repubs were before the great depression.
when repubs ask of the President, "where are the jobs", when they HAVE DONE EVERYTHING THEY SAID THEY WOULD TO MAKE PRESIDENT OBAMA A ONE TERM PRESIDENT, i would be laughing if it weren't for the devastating effects on the american people and their families.
Suzette, Too bad, you just can't fix stupid.
Robot Romney doesn't think about the poor. Concern for the middle class MIGHT occupy his thoughts for a few fleeting moments. All of Romney's thoughts are for the wealthy and corporations. Remember, he likes to fire people.
Wrong. Romney has no core values it's not that he thinks about the rich it's that he thinks about what people tell him to and who has the most contact with that candidate? The ultra rich donors, his campaign has almost no average citizen donations which the president's money is a great percentage composed of....which is why Romney is drastically outraising him
Not really sure which plan is better, yet I hope whoever leads this country, that they have a really good plan, because the same ole same ole is getting old!!
Obama has a vision FORWARD
Romney is looking in the rear view mirror! Bassackward!
Because of the Teapublicans nothing is getting done to get the economy going, in fact they cheer when the people lose jobs or the price of gasoline goes up! It should be be Crystal Sugar clear they WANT it BAD!

Petition/End lockout of American Crystal Sugar Workers!
http://crystalgreed.com/journeyforjustice/?tag=moorhead
I signed the petition.
You are a great American with REAL values! Thank You Xena22!
Blinders on and accelerator to the floor assbackwards!! Rom Slick and Racer-X.
For vision and moving forward, it's President Obama and Joe Biden.
No Matter how I vote in November, I'll stand with the american's working men and woman before any party such as the dems or the Gop. My pleasure to sign that petition for working american's. Thanks for posting that XXX OOO
Thanks! And you are not alone on not being entranced by the parties..they both have helped dig our grave. But in my opinion it comes down to a choice of Obama who will back unions (he kinda forgot Wis) and the workers and wants and has tried to get the money out of politics, but because of the Supreme Court ruling (PAC money)we have to deal with it for now. I have been looking at some of the Libertarian ideas an I agree with some of them. BUT NOT THE TEA PARTY(FAKE) run by the Koches and their rich evil corporate cronies.
John, #12.4 If you stand with the working man, then you have no choice but OBAMA!
Romney and the Republicans care only for the people who are wealthy; Romney wants another tax cut, he thinks 14% is just too oppressive!
Poor Willard.......you gotta feel sorry for him. He tries so hard to mimic a human being. He just can't quite do it.
Ex.: Everybody over the age of ten on this vine who does not know what a donut is, step forward. See, a human would know what a donut was, but Romney did not!
I rest my case.
i agree with all of you journeyone, steve, jack flash, chcolatekak, india, md/mi,and sen

BILLIE - I tried to complain about you to my dog and she ended up giving me a licking (literally) for talking about you.
WELL!
President Obama 4 Sure,
It was President Obama's economic plan that brought us back from the brink of a depression.
President Obama's vision is better for ALL Americans, Mittster's vision is only good for the exclusive billionaire boys club.
If you want a Congress and Senate that is for ALL of AMERICA, not just 1%, defeat Boehner, Ryan, Cantor, McConnell, and the balance of the backwards Tea Partiers that got in, in 2010. Instead of ringing your hands, use them to vote on November 6, 2012.
Special election day for Republicans Only to Vote is on November 7th !!!!
lol. good one!
Mitt Romney is a puppet for the rich; he has no clue about the middle-class or what we need. His plan is to run the country as a business; this is the reason Wall Street is funding his campaign. The millionaires and billionaires are funding his campaign, in order to receive a return favor. Romney has already "sold his soul" to them and will not raise taxes on them. He would rather make the middle-class and the poor suffer in order to "fit" in with his new found friends with wealth. He has not noticed they weren't supporting him with the others running for his nomination. He's a simplton and has this strange notion that the American people are as naive as he happens to be. He also wants to remove regulations on banks, so they can once again "run footloose and fancy free". He's a pitiful excuse for a politician.
I'll say OBAMA no ifs, ands,or buts about it.I wouldn't trust ROMNEY's plan worth squat since he doesn't know what it's like for the average american.
I wonder if the poll results here, will reflect the actual election results.
Bout as much as the polls in Wisconsin predicted Walker would go down.....
VIEWER - I hope it does actually happen, but then hard sayingif it will be true.
They will if the silent majority actually goes to the polls or returns their absentee ballot. If you know someone who is elderly, disabled, a veteran, and that person doesn't drive, get them to the DMV for a NON-drivers license and help them fill-out a voter registration form.
stknmov What polls predicted Walker would go down? From what I recall they thought it would be 50/50. Actual results Walker 53% Barrett 46% Trivedi 1%
Even though the voter turnout was high, many didn't vote because even if they disliked Walker, did not have confidence in Barrett, and were burnt out by the whole deal.
Walker no longer controls the state senate.
Walker is having a suit tailor made....a nice orange one!
stknmov::: Well, the Walker cohorts were the jokers who told those who had signed the recall petition that they had done their job and didn't need to go to the polls. Just another one of their lies. Those Walker flunkies-- and Walker himself-- better keep their scissors handy to cut of their noses. Their noses are growing longer and longer by the hour.
Walker would already be in jail if he didn't cut the funding for the prosecutors that are running his criminal investigation.
The FBI needs to step in because it is a conflict of interest for the person that is under investigation to be in charge of the funding for the investigators.
Ted: Obama 96% Romney 4% HaHa!! Powerball is $241 million maybe $1.00 will make me a millionaire this Saturday too.
I hoped, but never believed Barrett would win, he just did not have the charisma. It may have been me, but I swear Eddie had a look of doubt when interviewing Barrett. Just something in Eddies expression and voice that expressed [wish you the best, but I don't think so]
But regarding this November I would say Obama by 9% or better. The only reason I would have to think the Mitt heads would get in is due to all those prophecies of the end days circa 2013. [if the Mayans were so good at prediction then why did their empire fall?]
This town saw better times too, like in the 90's and of course the 50's were Happy Days. [don't collapse me people] But County running $11.5 million budget surplus. It could be worse, I could live in Cleveland or Detroit.
Court records released in the trial of one of the defendants showed that prosecutors said Walker's office had been "unwilling or unable" to turn over requested records.
Hoping for orange suit, but would settle for pink slip.
VIEWER - Lets not forget the HOT PINK dress to go with that pink slip.
Just get near Walker and you step in something! And I'm not talking cowpies!
President Obama's. Romney isn't just George W Bush on steroids, but Bush pumped into warp drive. Been there. Done that. It was not good. And it's why Republicans don't want to talk about it. Because they thrive on people keeping on the blinders and having collective amnesia. But how the hell do you move forward and progress if you want to play amnesia on how things got shot to hell?
I have walked this planet for 40+ year, and I have never seen any plant or animal grow from the top down...... The GOP is full of it....
There is only one way I could see that happening. That's from the top to the roots, nothing else would make sense.
Watch some nasa footage, no problem in orbit.
So why don't you work to stop the powers that will let him help his buddies, by getting rid of all the corrupt agencies obama has been using to funnel money to his friends. Boehner will never agree once romney wins, but now he would be forced to pretend to be a conservative and pass the bills.
Slack! Why do you keep bringing up stuff that was totally debunked. You just listen to FOX and run with the lies without checking. If you want to see real crony capitalism look at the republican party.
