Florida Gov. Rick Scott uses a magnifying glass to look at finger prints in an 8th grade science class at Carwise Middle School in Palm Harbor, Fla., April 9, 2012.
The U.S. Justice Department is moving aggressively against Florida's voter purge, suing the state today.
The DOJ suit alleges Florida's search for non-citizen voters, initiated at the request of Republican Gov. Rick Scott, violates a "quiet period" required by federal law during the 90 days before an election.
Florida's primary is set for August 14.
The suit also contends Florida has been using inaccurate and unreliable voter verification procedures, which also violates federal law.
Here's the complaint:
The lawsuit comes just one day after the state sued the U.S. Department of Homeland Security over the purge.
Florida wants to check the names of its registered voters against a DHS immigration database to help weed out non-citizens.
Florida has already sent thousands of letters to registered voters across the state, saying they've been identified as potential non-citizens. These people must now prove their citizenship or be purged from the voting rolls.
But since 2000, there have been only 178 allegations of fraud in the whole state, out of 37 million votes cast. That's 0.0005%.
All 67of Florida's Democratic, Republican and independent county elections supervisors have joined together to oppose and stop Scott’s attempts to suppress the vote.
Republicans want to increase their chances of winning close elections by disenfranchising core Democratic voting blocs such as the poor, the elderly, minorities and the young, just as they did in 2000.

Gee. The Republican crime family is trying to get rid of Eric Holder at the same time as the Justice Dept. is stopping Florida from purging voters. What a coincidence.
This is such a hoot! I can't stop laughing. I thought Florida said they were going to sue the US. Just secede from the union.
TM, Its about time for Florida to Purge Scott as Governor ! His gangster stlye politics has to go. I want the 91 year old veterans voting rights back and Scott to publicly apologize to this veteran !!!!
I wish Florida good luck in their suit against the Department of Justice (DOJ) and their efforts to purge their databases of fraudulent voter registrations, which will help give back and secure the "voice" of legitimate voters in the Sunshine state. Only the left will fight against Voter ID and other measures to ensure only legal citizens have the right to cast a vote in our political process. The GOP leads the way again with a majority of Americans supporting the right decision over an 'easy' but wrong decision.
The federal databases should be accessible by all the states to verify the authenticity of their voter registration databases. Take the DOJ all the way to the Supreme Court, if necessary. Tell us how any effort to purge illegal voters from a state database is "voter suppression" when those individuals never had a right to vote in the first place.... this is just another example of the Democrats attempting to pander to illegal aliens, which is why they've done little to stop illegal immigration while they sue Arizona and other states for stepping in to do what the federal government has failed to do according to our Constitution.
Wow, how ignorant of you. You're going to toe that party line all the way to the end, huh? You're like the only person I've seen lately who is dumb enough to actually come out publicly and insist Dems are persecuting you. Everyone, and I do mean, EVERYONE, knows exactly what Scott's up to here, and you know it too, but go ahead, toe the party line of victimhood, you poor sot.
I guess you missed the part where the 67 elections supervisors, 30 of them republicans, refuse to commit an illegal act as ordered by Scott. I guess you missed the part about where this isn't done within 90 days of an election. And I guess you missed the part where the 67 elections supervisors already know that any cleanup of voters rolls is done in odd-numbered years so as to not interfere with elections.
But toe that line, fool.
Every state should be able to "cleanup voter rolls" annually; not just odd-numbered years. How does this "interfere" with elections except to ensure only legitimate voters are allowed to execute their right at polling stations? If Scott instructed them to do something 'illegal' then he would be charged. So... where are the charges and prosecution? This is just another example of fraudulent behavior of the left in an attempt to influence the 2012 election as they tried to do in Wisconsin with fraudulent voter registration and recall petitions. Oh, the desperation of the left as they see their leaders losing power across the nation. Thank God!
Right that way you can make sure no one is left to vote but republicans. We already know your agenda flame bait.
I know English is not your primary language which explains why your logic escapes many of us, but. what??? Have a good one comrade. :-)
Well we know thats a lie logic like education are unknown abstract concepts that tea baggers can't comprehend. How do we know this, rather simple, tea bagged republicans think telling the same lie more then 3 times magically turns the lie to a fact.
Having to resort to insults is a good sign that Vatican12442 lacks for a factual, logical argument.
Regards
This is about proving that you are who you say you are. And this is a Federal ID law that was signed by Obama, Obama's own law demands all states meet the same requirements by 2014, this will happen in all 50 states, Florida is doing what the Feds said, except now Obama wants states to wait until after Nov. 2012 election, then he won't give two squats about you....read the law....here this might help...
http://www.ncsl.org/legislatures-elections/elections/voter-id.aspx
And here is a major reason why this has to be a federal law....
http://www.immigrationcounters.com/
Only those of you who cannot prove who you say you are should be worried, if your legal what is the gripe....and if you are legal do you not want everyone else playing by the same ID laws.......get over it you will be in Big Brothers database one way or another, sooner or later........
Rick, a Koch brother robot, is just playing to the soon to be irrelevant Tea Party. The supervisors association ( which includes 30 Republicans) all voted to not carry out this voting purging activity and a Florida judge struck down some of Rick's laws to limit voting. So Mr. Scott is up a creek with judge a very few supporters.
How arresting him too.
oops how about arresting him too
I'm with arresting him too, how dare him defy the fedral government...I hate this racial issue...but that's what it is with these repulicans...Mr. Holder is black and bald headed white hypocrite Scott is not going to let dem guys geten away with them dair guys messin' wit dem !!
It's about time that the law works when any public official breaks the law. This instead of the Republicans trying to use the law to get around the constitution as was done in Florida in 2000. GW might not have been elected(excuse me appointed) President by the Supreme court if the court had allowed those 35,000 uncounted votes to be counted.
There have been some very strongly worded letters to the editor of my local newspaper, The Gainesville Sun, questioning why we want to allow non-citizens to vote, as if how they were reviewing the rolls was perfectly legitimate. Glad to see someone with authority, the U.S. DOJ, stepping in to support the beleaguered Florida DOJ. I believe it has been objecting to Scott's purge as well. I have not been following closely as life has been a bit busy for me. I am homeless.
Tea Party(FAKE) if you can't make the laws, Break the laws...
They did it in WI, but they got caught, being investigated, but I'm sure the Koch boys will bail them out.
Really? Provide a link to any supposed GOP "voter fraud" case story in Wisconsin or is this just more Liberal dreaming?
Election 2000 election 2004 when voting machines mysteriously flipped votes.
More liberal dreaming from our foreign guest on this blog. Can you provide links to independent government sources of that investigation and prosecution? Nah, I didn't think so. Gotta love your conspiracy theories. They are entertaining.
Can you provide links to show that you are not a re reg Koch employee. Didn't think so you are afraid you will get banned again and lose your Koch check.

In order to prevent 178 illegal voters they will suppress thousands of legal voters?
Makes perfect sense
Can anyone provide proof of voter suppression in Florida as they work to remove fraudulent voter registration from their databases? Why do you want to suppress the vote of legitimate voters, which is diminished when you have fraudulent registrations and votes? Doesn't make sense, does it? :-)
Smoking e-mail implicates Jeb Bush in vote suppressionby:
october 22 2004
tags: Elections coverage 2004, Oct 23, 2004
The Sarasota Herald Tribune obtained a “smoking e-mail” proving that Florida Gov. Jeb Bush was “personally involved” in ramrodding a new voter purge list for the 2004 election, even though the data firm that prepared it warned of its many “flaws.”
In an exchange of e-mails last May 4, Jeff Long of the Florida Secretary of State’s office wrote that the firm “recommended to the Gov. that they ‘pull the plug’ on the CVDB (Central Voter Database) primarily because they weren’t comfortable with the felon matching program… The Gov. rejected the suggestion to pull the plug so they are ‘going live’ with it this weekend.”
Thousands of Florida voters falsely identified as “felons” and removed from voting rolls by Jeb Bush in 2000 are still waiting for their voting rights to be restored, journalist Greg Palast charged. African Americans in Florida, he told reporters, are “900 percent more likely to have their votes thrown out. There is a huge racial bias and the new computer voting system increases that bias.”
Meanwhile, another vote theft scandal erupted in Nevada. A Republican-linked outfit, Nathan Sproul & Associates, has been exposed as tearing up Democratic voter registration forms in that battleground state. The Republican Party has paid Sproul & Associates just under half a million dollars. Sproul formerly headed the Arizona Republican Party and the Arizona Christian Coalition.
“There is outrage here, that a group paid by the Republican Party would destroy Democratic voter registration forms,” said Rozita Lee, assistant state director of the AFL-CIO-backed Voices for Working Families in Las Vegas. It is an affiliate of the nonpartisan America Votes coalition which has registered millions nationwide.
Sproul’s outfit stole the name “America Votes” to confuse potential voters. Lee told the World the real America Votes has registered more than 100,000 people in Nevada. Now many new voters are telephoning her office confused that her group is the one that destroyed the Democratic forms.

REPORT: From Poll Taxes To Voter ID Laws: A Short History of Conservative Voter Suppression
By Guest Blogger on Mar 27, 2011 at 6:00 pm
http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2011/03/27/153179/report-from-poll-taxes-to-voter-id-laws-a-short-history-of-conservative-voter-suppression/
Thursday, ThinkProgress reported that the Ohio House had approved the most restrictive voter id law in the nation — a bill that would exclude 890,000 Ohioans from voting. Earlier this week Texas lawmakers passed a similar bill, and voter id legislation — which would make it significantly more difficult for seniors, students and minorities to vote — is now under consideration in more than 22 states across the country
Conservatives have said voter id laws are necessary to combat mass voter fraud. Yet according to the Brennan Center for Justice, Americans are more likely to be killed by a bolt of lightning than commit voter fraud. And the Bush administration’s five-year national “war on voter fraud” resulted in only 86 convictions of illegal voting out of more than 196 million votes cast. Instead conservatives are employing an old tactic: using the specter of false voting to restrict the voting rights of minorities and the poor.
Below, ThinkProgress examines the history of conservatives anti-voter agenda:
As statehouses across the country move forward on voter identification bills, ThinkProgress will continue to track conservatives latest efforts to advance their century-old anti-voter agenda.

OP-ED COLUMNIST
Suppress the Vote?
By BOB HERBERT
Published: August 16, 2004
The big story out of Florida over the weekend was the tragic devastation caused by Hurricane Charley. But there's another story from Florida that deserves our attention.
State police officers have gone into the homes of elderly black voters in Orlando and interrogated them as part of an odd "investigation" that has frightened many voters, intimidated elderly volunteers and thrown a chill over efforts to get out the black vote in November.
The officers, from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, which reports to Gov. Jeb Bush, say they are investigating allegations of voter fraud that came up during the Orlando mayoral election in March.
Officials refused to discuss details of the investigation, other than to say that absentee ballots are involved. They said they had no idea when the investigation might end, and acknowledged that it may continue right through the presidential election.
"We did a preliminary inquiry into those allegations and then we concluded that there was enough evidence to follow through with a full criminal investigation," said Geo Morales, a spokesman for the Department of Law Enforcement.
The state police officers, armed and in plain clothes, have questioned dozens of voters in their homes. Some of those questioned have been volunteers in get-out-the-vote campaigns.
I asked Mr. Morales in a telephone conversation to tell me what criminal activity had taken place.
"I can't talk about that," he said.
I asked if all the people interrogated were black.
"Well, mainly it was a black neighborhood we were looking at - yes,'' he said.
He also said, "Most of them were elderly."
When I asked why, he said, "That's just the people we selected out of a random sample to interview."
Back in the bad old days, some decades ago, when Southern whites used every imaginable form of chicanery to prevent blacks from voting, blacks often fought back by creating voters leagues, which were organizations that helped to register, educate and encourage black voters. It became a tradition that continues in many places, including Florida, today.
Not surprisingly, many of the elderly black voters who found themselves face to face with state police officers in Orlando are members of the Orlando League of Voters, which has been very successful in mobilizing the city's black vote.
The president of the Orlando League of Voters is Ezzie Thomas, who is 73 years old. With his demonstrated ability to deliver the black vote in Orlando, Mr. Thomas is a tempting target for supporters of George W. Bush in a state in which the black vote may well spell the difference between victory and defeat.
The vile smell of voter suppression is all over this so-called investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
Joseph Egan, an Orlando lawyer who represents Mr. Thomas, said: "The Voters League has workers who go into the community to do voter registration, drive people to the polls and help with absentee ballots. They are elderly women mostly. They get paid like $100 for four or five months' work, just to offset things like the cost of their gas. They see this political activity as an important contribution to their community. Some of the people in the community had never cast a ballot until the league came to their door and encouraged them to vote."
Now, said Mr. Egan, the fear generated by state police officers going into people's homes as part of an ongoing criminal investigation related to voting is threatening to undo much of the good work of the league. He said, "One woman asked me, 'Am I going to go to jail now because I voted by absentee ballot?' "
According to Mr. Egan, "People who have voted by absentee ballot for years are refusing to allow campaign workers to come to their homes. And volunteers who have participated for years in assisting people, particularly the elderly or handicapped, are scared and don't want to risk a criminal investigation."
Florida is a state that's very much in play in the presidential election, with some polls showing John Kerry in the lead. A heavy-handed state police investigation that throws a blanket of fear over thousands of black voters can only help President Bush.
The long and ugly tradition of suppressing the black vote is alive and thriving in the Sunshine State.

All you have to do is ask. Or look.
Oh wow... an "email" - they call that 'hearsay' when they can't contribute the email to a source. Gotta love your sources: Think Progress, Peoples World, New York Times and other irrelevant rag that have no clue what a 'fact' is versus propaganda. Again, where are the charges and prosecutions of voter suppression since we can provide examples of voter fraud. Where is ACORN today? Exactly :-)
Keep spamming. You're not convincing anyone of anything other than that you're an idiot.
Now we will find out just who really is in contempt of court. It sure isn't Eric Holder!
The whole***republican party is in contempt of America with their Norquist pledge and McConnell declaration! Their refusal to do what is necessary for the well-being of America is treasonous.
Obama/Biden 2012
DemElizabeth I agree with you 100% Treason is the only thing you can call it!
Obama and Reid are the ones who refuse to stop spending money we don't have and selling us off to china.
norquist hasn't put my name on any loans, that was obama and bush.
Is Holder saying that if your not a citizen that you can still vote? I dont know if I understand exactly what is going on. Are we saying no citizens can vote?
Poor slacker just can't grasp that Ronnie Reagan sold the US out a long long time ago when he started the trickle down nonsense and the tea bagged republicans have been paying for the wealthy tax cuts in the belief they would get a golden handout that after 34 years you would think they would realize they been had, but no they continue to blame everyone from the poor to the cop that protects them from those evil criminals the republicans demanded more prisons to be built to house all those wicked cocaine kingpins, while ignoring the biggest cocaine kingpin was Ronnie Reagan himself. You just can't fix stupid when stupid is tied to a person belief system.
Slack, what the hell does that have to do with the topic? But let's also mention the $trillion GWB spent. The 2 unfunded conflicts, off the books. And crashing the economy.
Nothing but he has to blame Obama for something at least 15 times a day for his Koch check.
My favorite foreigner on this blog still crying over Ronald Reagan, huh? Poor little guy is scarred for life. :-)
replying to demelizabeth. For some reason she thought that norquist as borrowing all that money obama was spending.
So why will you not end the bush policies? I never voted for him or his dad, yes I was fooled by reagan, but only in '80. What is your excuse for obama?
Poor tea bagged nation once again fail to own up to their proven stupidity of the last 34 years. hope you like those half chewed table scraps the Koch brothers spit at you.
larry: I will use logic to prove bush's wars didn't cost us anything. So read slowly...
Obama ended the war in iraq, government spending hasn't dropped one penny. If the war cost money then ending it would show up as a drop in spending.
It hasn't happened. i.e. bushes war isn't the problem, something else must be.
so whomitmay, when do you plan on getting rid of all that reagan bush debt? I want to pay it all off. I understand the least intrusive way is to just pay back the treasury notes and not sell any more. 30 years and they will all be gone.
I enjoy the recent quote from Van Jones. "Fear the Tea Party!" Damn, right! We're rolling over the left this November.
Was that before or after the Walker reelection? Is van jones smarter than I gave him credit for, or a lucky guess like the old broken clock?
But he has nothing to fear from a group that only want him top be free from the oppressive yoke of the government.
The comment was made 'after' the Walker recall election failed for the Progressives. Ole Van Jones believes he's a member of the oppressing government as he hopes to control the mindless minions.
theblaze.com/stories/van-jones-issues-dire-warning-the-tea-party-will-use-power-to-decimate-us/
When the GOP come to their senses and stop trying to make Reagans failed policies work slacker. 34 years of Reaganomics, 34 years of GOP deficits, stock market crashes and recessions. When the GOP finally learns that the wealthy do not contribute to the economy no matter how many tax cuts they get, all that does is destroys the economy because people are no longer making a living wage. How long are you going to defend failed polices slacker?
on other posts all the race nuts keep talking about dead people voting. they can't tell you how many or where it has occurred, but they keep talking about it. folks here illegally also are supposed to be able to vote, but they can't say how or where this has occurred. stop watching fox non news people!!! i am stunned that folks are so stupid. no i'm not really. they voted for bush.
These wingnuts also just INSIST that masses of "illegals" go to the polls in droves to vote! Yeah, right, like any illegal in this hostile republican environment would want to go to the polling place and bring attention to themselves.
Even worse they seen with their very own eyes vast armies of Mexicans swimming across the Gulf of Mexico to vote in Florida.
Obama will do any thing to keep dead people and non-citizens voting. It is completely unaccecptable for the Federal Government to prevent the purge of unlawful voters from voter registration.
Election2000
Obama2012
they are purging lawful voters with this flawed system. too bad you don't care about their rights.
Just where are all these dead people voting. You keep saying it but never provide any proof. And it is illegal to "prurge" within 90 days of a federal election. They have one this month.
Larry, It is also unlawful for the President to enter into a foriegin war without Congressional approval but Obama and Clinton both did it. Where was the Justice Department when the War Powers Act was violated?
Remember, you can't blame Obama for anything he's done or failed to do over the past four years, but you can still blame Bush. Come on... you have to follow Liberal rules on this blog. :-) Crazy...
Actually, no, it's not unacceptable at all. You may not like it, but it IS the law. Get over it. There will be no purging of anything this year in Florida. It's illegal to do within 90 days of any election, and there's one in August and another in November. Too bad for you, you'll have to contain your racism for another year.
July, aug, sept. There is 90 days and no nov yet. But as long as you want to get technical, you are voting for state delegates to go to NC and vote for the presidential nominee at the convention. So no federal election, just a state one.
OMG! You can't use the facts. That would be R..A..C..I..S..T!
Holder can just produce the documents and shut the house up.
I am glad Scott is standing up to this fake, he has already been told by the courts that election validity is a right of the states. I read his briefs against AZ, not a fact in it, just a bunch of could happen if the cops break the law nonsense, not one 'victim'.
His time would be better spent going after NYC illegal searches on the street.
releasing all docs would be a breach of national security and for that he could get prison time. Learn to read. Learn to use facts and logic. The country would be a better place if you baggers would.
Still smoking Koch I see. Here is a clue you can't break laws of the United States just because you were elected Governor of a state. See theres this little pledge of office they must swear that says they will uphold the laws of the land, when they break those laws they are in violation of their oath of office, which Scott has done by breaking the 1965 voter right laws and the motor voter law. Then there is a little law known as due process, Scotts purge ignores due process by asking citizens to prove they are citizens, due process requires the state to prove the citizens are not citizens and it is up to the state to prove they are not, having a sir name like an illegal is not proof that person is an illegal so Scott has no reason to question citizens citizenship based on just a persons sir name. Really you righties need to understand the laws of the land before you open mouth and insert foot.
I like the hypocrisy of the left here when they claim that releasing the documents would violate national security, but they say NOTHING about all the intelligence leaks coming from the White House, which presents a clear and present danger to our national security. Interesting... they probably don't even know it.
There is no national security. Since the government can't beak the law and murder it's citizens (with the exception of obama).
The only security issue is the people finding out holder has broken the law, selling guns to criminals.
So here is FACT: There are court orders for wiretaps from washington. But holder says they have no knowledge of a few rouge agents in arizona. They were also running guns out of FL, an IL.
Hopefully Scott will use holders lawsuit to grill him in discovery about the guns he ran out of florida.
How is purging illegals on the voting roles doing anything to stop someone registering to vote at the DMV? Stopping people who can't vote does not violate any civil rights act.
Shame you don't feel the same about a president getting to break the law just by getting elected. Look up firing an inspector general if you want to see his first criminal act.
There were no leaks from the white house. It was norquist, he is the only one who would know obama hand picks the kill list targets. See I can think like a koolaid drinker.
Whats the matter tea baggers miss out on Reagans crack give aways did you. Guess you weren't born when GWB said of course I don't wire tap without a warrant except for the few million times I did.
But you are ok with clinton's brother selling cocaine? I could care less if you bought crack from reagan, I am for freedom, but I do hope he sold you some overcut dog squeeze for not being bright enough to make it yourself.
Right because you are a big wig on internet blogs meaning in real life you live in mommys basement spending your days on left wing blogs hoping to get rich with the Koch check.
Oh, are you jealous I get a check and you don't. What have you got against koch? I can't find anything bad that they support. They don't support criminal activity, and if you get rid of the feds ability to give away our tax money I have no problem with that. Pelosi had 4+ years to get rid of all the government givaways, bush would have sighed anything she gave him. Obama might not, but since she never did we will never know.
Whom isn't even a US citizen yet she hangs out on this blog to find some meaning for her life in Europe where her nation is instituting austerity measures because of failed socialist policies. This eastern European is still sore about Ronald Reagan that crushed the USSR (Evil Empire). Whom can't even vote for Obama, but that won't stop her from crying about Reagan over 30 years later. Just sit back, enjoy the comedy that is Whom. Reading her posts is like watching a dog chase its tail.
As far as I know the only countries that have instituted austerity, are Eastonia, Germany, Sweadon, and England. Those countries have cut spending, and are doing ok. The others have just raised taxes, and are going down the drain, and can't figure out why when they have austerity steps to end the problem.
Vatican, so she can vote in the elections, holder says so, that gives her the right to post.
This is true. ACORN allows cartoon characters to register to vote for Obama..so I stand corrected :-)
HA HA HA you got pimped out by the ACORN pimp how amusing are you. Guess what, people have registered to vote with the names Micky Mouse and Donald Duck every since Walt put them on film. Not once has Micky Mouse or Donald Duck ever voted in any election since Walt made those names famous. So true to your nonthinking abilities the ACORN pimp pulled one over on you and laughed all the way to the bank to collect on tea bagger ignorance.
So what are they saying , is the gov saying if your not a citizen you can still vote because of the 90 day rule?
No. Crikey! What is wrong with you people? They are purging legitimate voters by the 10's of thousands to catch maybe 2. They are always blaming voter fraud but can never prove it. They just use it to scare you low information voters.
Fact is you all have been presented with proof of voter fraud across the country, but all chose to keep your head buried in the sand because you need those illegitimate votes to keep Obama in the White House. You people epitomize the "low information" citizen in America as you vote against your best interests by asking for four more years of insanity from this administration. You deserve what you get.
I still dont know exactly what purge means. Are they not letting legitmate voters vote. What exactly are they doing that makes a legitmate voter not be able to vote. Can they simple not register to vote if they are legitimate? If not then the legitimate should be allowed to vote. Its the non legitmate voter that needs to be addressed. I still dont quite understand why the legitmate voter cant just go register.
So far the only real information I have seen was presented by The Real Chris.
All you have presented so far is attitude.
slackewarerobert you are obviously dillusional to believe the repuke lies.
What lies? That holder is a hack? He proves it with every case he brings. I would just like him to actually have a case for a change instead of relying on lies to make his case.
If his problem is with the 90 days, he would ask the gov to go ahead and fix the roles, but use the original ones for the primaries, and warn people that they have been purged from the next election, and please straighten out the mistake.
I have posted this on other sites, but will repeat it one more time.... of course there are dead people still on the voter rolls. if you died tomorrow do you think that the first thing your relatives are gonna do is run right out and make sure your name is taken off the voter rolls so that nobody impersonates you? of course not! eventually the voter rolls and obits will match.
Guess what if you die after voting the GOP say thats an illegal act too, they just haven't figured out how they can punish dead people yet.
Most places still have it on the books. You dump the corpse on the side of the road. Look up your local punishment for the crime of suicide.
Except those laws only apply to survivors of suicide if you actually knew anything about law.
No you can't commit suicide if you are alive. You could conspire, or attempt. but to commit suicide you must be dead. Try and understand legal mumbo jumbo. It is hard I know.
No it is not hard you just attempted to pull a word game and failed.
You can't dump a body that is alive. It wouldn't be a corpse. You just haven't read the right laws yet.
I was pointing out that there are already punishments on the books for a dead person. That it hasn't happened in your lifetime doesn't mean it isn't there.
Ran across it on those stupid law sites years ago.
Excellent point. My question is, If someone passes away and has no relatives (no foul play or voter fraud) whose responsibility is it to take that persons name off from the voter rolls?
If there is a problem related to this, why are Republicans just now making such a fuss about it and why are they including living breathing legal voters in their current attempt to Purge?
Is there even a policy for removing deceased voters in a legal and rational manner?
Yes there is they have what is called the inactive list that purges voters from the list when they have missed 3 or 4 elections. That was what the voter purge was meant for but the GOP found ways to use it to rid legitimate voters from the list by straw man tactics such as illegals voting.
the Gov is a sad man..a real racist
Yeah! He don't like Obama's policies.....so he must be racist. Because we Democrats know racists when we see 'em since we created the KKK and filibustered Civil Rights legislation. Right lefties? :-)
Talk about racist did you see where that white kid had to give back a scholarship that he earned by his grades but he was white and it had to be given to a black kid. I bet Martin Luther King is rolling over in his grave over that one.
No he is a medicaid cheat, get it right lance.
No he is a medicaid cheat, get it right lance.
Why is it everytime I see a picture of Scott, I think about a Stephen King horror movie? I hope he gets his ears pinned back. It might help his looks, but I doubt it. :) Go DOJ!
Typical liberal response where you focus on how a political talks and looks vs. the substance of their policies. Brought to you by the clowns that had no clue what 'hope and change' meant in 2008. :-)
Keep supporting the Republicans! I can't wait till the rivers run silver with mercury, the air is impossible to breathe, and we end up being like China, where you can't eat the fish because you'll get brain damage, and you have to put on a face mask just to go outside because the air is full of toxic waste.
A Republican future.
Sounds like detriot. I don't like fish, I have charcoal filters, and air ionizers, And I have a need for mercury. Since they got rid of thermometers, it is tuff to come by. But if you know of a source let me know. Nothing wrong with brain damage, you won't even know you are injured and being killed.
But why are you not upset with obama flying around the country fundraising when he could pick up the phone? Or will you only hate dirty air when romney flies?
Shhh. Don't bring up the Wisconsin recall elections.... they're still healing from their wounds as they got their butts kicked by the citizens of that great state. The Dems are also sore at Obama for not lending his support, which really would have been the kiss of death for them. Whining: music to my ears.
Right here we go again with the bragging tea bagged re reg. Funny how he thinks he won something when he cut his own head off. He reminds me of those morons who spend $1,000s of dollars at casinos get lucky and get $25 of their money back and call it winning $25. You won nothing the Koch brothers won, Walker won but you are the one who has to pay them for their wins which makes you the loser. I bet your one of those people who give their money to someone who then buys them a bday present and you thank them for their gift, Yet you paid for the gift making you a sucker.
I only win at the casino, you can't make any money giving it to them. But sadly you must live there, or you can't play the odds.
So why is the dem controlled senate going to give the koch brothers all that money? Wouldn't it be better used to hire teachers? If you hadn't run out of the state you could have put amendments on the bill to strip government waste out of the budget. Walker couldn't object to cutting wasteful spending it would have tipped his hand.
Sorry I don't gamble never have never will because the house always wins. Something you tea bagging republicans just can't grasp. How do I know this, because the oldest casino in the US has you tea bagging republicans thinking investing in stocks is money in the bank when reality is you are gambling your future away trying to beat the house.
Sorry I don't gamble never have never will because the house always wins.
You're right sonny................Republicans ARE the house
republicans thinking investing in stocks is money in the bank
Republicans are always right!!!
You've never owned a share of stock??????????? You are a liberal aren't you??
And we get the usual jerry fantasies.
since i am a christian and have really been sturdy bible on the rich. So i came across James5:1 thru 6 and it tells all about the rich and since this was written from God I know its the truth. The rich is not God's people but the poor. Since I have lived in this world for 76 years as a middle class person until now I am poor. You gop are racist and I will stand up for the poor so they can vote. Its funny that all of sudden you guys want to stop people from voting would that be because you don't want Obama to win I am a white women traveled in the southern states as a truck driver with my husband . I will say that there is still racial issures back there. I love Obama and I will vote for him if I am still here but if not I know that God is still the boss. God bless America and protect us from the evil ones and I do know from the scriptures that evil will be punished in the end. God even gives us the rights to choose, we areto teach what god teaches but he will judge and he says to pray for our enemies and as hard as it is to I do pray for our country every night not just our county but the whole world. Obama 2012
Got my gun and bible. But can't find the racists in the south except across the street from clan ralley's, Those are really bad people saying vile things. Though a bunch of drunk rednecks had me trembling. But sober, nothing to fear. Was more afraid of that black wave of thugs flowing out of the mall in DC jumping on cars and breaking things.
Vatican12442 I have read your posts and you have an intolerant and narrow view of reality especially about Floridas' election/voting rules and how it is in conflict with federal law. Educate your self and maybe you would make more sense.
Across the State of Florida 2,600 notices were sent out to voters stating they would be removed from voter rolls.
In Miami-Dade County alone (according to the Miami Herald) 385 people who recieved these letters were proven to be Legal voters. 10 were not.
The legal total was 514 two days ago. I don't know if they have found anymore since then.
14 felonies later Rick Scott wants the Florida Tax payer to Fund his clinics!! He wants his money back in his bank account after buying the Governorship. Read the article it is clear and concise ..an excellent read and explanation!
