Even if both parties in Congress believed that it was Constitutional, it doesn't mean that it was unless the Supreme Court says it was. That is why we have the Supreme Court to decide if it is Constitutional or not. It's called a Balance of Powers.

Even if the Affordable Healh Care Act was passed unanimously by both parties, anyone that did not want to pay the individual mandate could and probably would fight it's Constitutionality all the way to the Supreme Court. Brown broke the Democratic 60-seat majority before the two chambers could meld differences in their bills for a final vote in both houses.

However, one of Brown's first votes after taking office saw him joining four other Republicans to help Democrats break a threatened filibuster by his party's leaders against a job bill.

The measure, $13 billion in tax incentives for businesses to hire unemployed workers, was quickly passed the next day with 12 Republicans joining Brown and 55 Democrats in favor of it.

Filibusters to make the Obama administration and Democrats in Congress look inept are one thing. Quite another is a vote against creating jobs in an economy with nearly 10 percent unemployment and midterm elections nine months away.

In ND the PUSH for Measure 2 to eliminate property tax is in it 2nd reincarnation, it obviously diidn't pass the last time in 2009 I think it was. A rich entrepreneur from the West coast has re-written it and a pushing for it. It would move the way taxes are collected some of which would come from alcohol, lottery tickets and things yet unknown calculated formula. Can you say WOW! I'm sure it would pass in Wisconnsin.

We passed a property tax role back several years ago. Property taxes couldn't excede the % more than they were in 1985. That sounds good. Except all it did was, county official just raised the "real market value" of your property.

With the housing market in the tank. Houses losing value, 2010, my "value" went up $20K. A church, with 5 buildings and 3 acres, went up $20K. Everybody in this county had their value increased by $20K. 2011 was a little better, only $6K. I wrote and told them, if they could sell my place for what they say it's worth, I would slit the profit with them.

I don't mind paying my taxes. Property taxes pay for many important things. I do get pissed when they lie about it. It's not hard here to pass a bond measure. Very few have failed. None for supporting schools.

There are those who choose to place the blame for high unemployment on Mr. Obama's shoulders, but keep in mind that it's the House that enacts legislation and controls the governmental purse-strings, not the President. The Stimulus package passed by the Democrats in 2009 helped the economy but would have been more effective if the GOP hadn't limited it to little more than a package of more useless tax breaks for the rich.

From my own personal experiance, I have owned three houses in three seperate states - and the only thing that lowers your property values are republican politicians using creative fianacial analysis to rip off honest taxpayers who obey the law and take extremely good care of their property even when they are recovering from back surgery... They 'hire' people at a liveable wage to mow their lawn.

The first stimulus passed and cost the taxpaxers almost $800 billion. According to the Obama Administration, it either save or created 3 million jobs. That cost the taxpayers over $250,000 per job. 2-3-2012: The House proposed a bill that keeps welfare recipients out of strip clubs, casinos, and liquor stores. The actual purpose of the bill was to have Democrats vote against it so that their Republican opponents can claim Democrats are FOR such nonsense. The bill passed 395-27 but it will die in the Senate, so ha-ha-ha, GOP. No jobs were created.

2-6-2012: Last week House Republicans approved language for debate on two bills that would gut Federal programs without having to pass specific legislation. This would, essentially, equal more tax cuts for big business. No jobs were created.

2-8-2012: The consistent upward trend in employment numbers would seem to be an excellent time for the GOP to bathe in glory as shepherds of the economy. But even though they've done absolutely nothing to increase employment for the past year all they can do is grumble that "More should be done". For once, they're right. No jobs were created. 2-10-2012: House Republican's are watering down the insider trading bill so that Democrats will vote against it. Thus, come November, our GOP pals can say that Democrats are actually for insider trading. What more could we expect from these useless conservative sleezeballs? No jobs were created.

3-21-2012: On Monday, the 19th, the House was called to order at 4PM. They then spent the next four hours arguing a bill that would allow Israeli nationals to receive nonimmigrant visas. No jobs were created.

On Tuesday, the House convened at Noon. The GOP spent the balance of the day trying to steal a Virginia park to fence to their industrialist buddies. No jobs were created.

3-23-2012: For the past two days the House has been debating H.R. 5, the "HEALTH" bill, which is actually about tort reform. No jobs were created.

3-26-2012: The House took last Friday off. No jobs were created.

3-28-2012: The House debated FCC transparency, baby monitors, and a transportation bill but nothing of note passed. No jobs were created, either.

3-30-2012: The House voted to end Medicare, again, but at least they signed a 90-day extension to the transportation bill. No jobs were created.

4-2-2012: The House vacated the premises early last Friday and won't be back in session until the 16th of April. No jobs will be created.

4-9-2012: The House has scheduled a series hearings this week. No jobs will be created.

4-16-2012: The House is back in session but it's mostly just nuts-and-bolts stuff this week. Although a vote on another corporate tax cut bill (H.R. 9) is in the offing.

4-18-2012: The House voted down the Buffet Rule, awarded Lena Horne a posthumous Congressional Gold Medal, then argued the rest of the day about rules to "enhance" hunting, fishing, and shooting. No jobs were created.

4-20-2012: The House passed "The Small Business Tax Cut Act" (H.R. 9) but they might as well have named the bill "Ponies For Everyone" because it wasn't about small business, and it will never pass the Senate. No jobs were created today.

4-23-2012: The House was in pro forma session. No jobs were created.

4-25-2012: The House spent the day dealing with the legislative version of cleaning their room. In this case it meant passing bills that dealt with adjustments to the boundaries of parklands, land swaps, and the like. No jobs, or anything remotely like them, were created.

4-27-2012: The House pased a couple of suspension bills (The DATA Act and the Small Business Credit Availability Act). They also passed CISPA, which is distressing, but the prez has promised a veto. Looking forward to that. Oh, and no jobs were created.

4-30-2012: On Friday the House approved a bill that lowers the interest on student loans, but tacked on a rider which guts the Health Care Act. It's designed to result in a presidential veto, at which point Republicans can claim that Mr. Obama doesn't care about student loans.

Boehner is also adding riders to "must Pass" bills to try getting around the $500billion mandantory defense cuts that were in the debt cieling agreement. Another rider to make the tax cuts permanant. He's going to hold the debt cieling, USA, hostage again. But, what the hell, we're paying them all for another vacation next week. They've worked sooo hard.

So jerry, did we have the money to spend on 2 conflicts? Did we have the money to spend when Ike built the infrastructure? Money is cheeper now than ever. Our infrastructure is so outdated and crumbling, it's been accessed as "dangerous". Our power grid, you know the one serving the country, could be taken out completely in about 10 min. Tell me how concerned these clowns are about "terrorism"?

It is time for Democrats to use a factual, and I believe, a winning argument about the moral character of Mittt Romney, which was most evident during the Vietnam war.

He was draft age during that war and obtained not 1, not 2, not 3, but FOUR draft deferments to avoid going to Vietnam.

Bad enough, but at the same time, he held up signs and fought for the draft and for the war, all the while knowing he would never serve his country IN the war.

None of his five sons ever served either, as his fellow Mormon, Jon Huntsman's son has, and Mitt had the unmitigated, callous GALL to say that they WERE SERVING their country by helping HIM get elected president. He actually had enough ego to make that statement and with a straight face.

He, Rush Limbaugh and and other draft dodgers are the first ones to want other men's children to serve in war, the first ones to start wars, and yet they are moral cowards and liars and will never serve by shedding a drop of their own blood.
