Yes. Since the day President Obama took office, repubs are saying they want to make him a one time president. They are obstructing every idea President Obama has in regards to job creation. They are doing this on purpose. ! % ers are not doing anything to create jobs and just keeping the profits in their pockets. I think American people should fire all those Republicans who are continuing to obstruct.
We know that for a fact. They never even made it a secret. They say it out loud and it reflects in everything they do. Their agenda is more important than Americans have jobs, peace and a sound economy. Now let's talk about the corrupt gop party and the 1%.
What in the hell are we going to do to stop their rampage.
Well, since they aren't concerned with creating jobs at all, I would have to say yes- after all, THEY have jobs, that's all that matters in the job front.
SEN - The only way to FIRE them is to VOTE THEM OUT OF OFFICE for good.
The Truth about Mitt Romney's Economic And Jobs Failures As Governor :
http://www.barackobama.com/romney/economics/
http://www.barackobama.com/romney/economics/stage/stage-intro
You have that right. I would love to have a nice big paddle a wack their butts including turtle head. I would use something just a bit harder for that idiot.
Obama had two years and the control of Congress to create jobs and he did NOTHING- remember 2,000,000 shovel ready jobs??? where are they?-- He even joked about it. He is toast
the gop is onlyinterested in obstructionism. the gop doesn't care about us, the 99%. ryan has his pathway to destruction that would increase debt and destroy our safety nets. if President Obama agrees with a republican idea, eg the individual mandate put forth by grassley, it is no longer a viable idea. Rummy has no plan only words that defame any democratic idea. President Obama has a jobs plan but because it is a democratic idea the gop will obstruct. now congress is going on summer vacation! look at the gop record--obstruct any democratic idea, filibuster to prevent any action on any bill (eg equal pay), continually put forth legislation to deny woman's right to health care/access to birth control. just where is a gop plan--it isn't there. Mcconnel clearly states his only objective is to destroy a president. Canter just stands there a smirks while spilling his garbage. Remember, Bush allowed the drug companies to write the medicare part D bill that benefits the drug companies/denies negotiated drug prices and penalizes those who need a break on the price of medications the most--a bill to mandate negotitated drug prices filibustered of course by the gop. the gop pledges their allegiance to grover norquist and the almighty dollar NOT to the USA and the citizens whom they are supposed to represent.
Absolutely, Seeing the president fail is their number one priority. We, the people, are completely irrelevant to that agenda. The more the unemployment rate rises, the more they droll with evil glee. Sadly, they are getting paid to pull down this country!
They don't have to worry about sick kids or doctor bills or their unemployment running out! LET'S Change that! Vote them OUT! Put in some representatives who represent US!
Let's put them out of a job on November 6, 2012. We need a serious shakeup in Washington. We're tired of taxation without representation!
Obama 2012.
The Republican's are never going to work with the black man in the White House. That's a fact. We could call it by another name, but that word is not allowed in public. Supply side economic's has never worked, except if you have the golden spoon in your mouth. And we the people really don't have that going for us. Let us say once and for all, business do not create jobs we do, and only we do. If we don't buy, they can't sell. The republicans don't care, nor are they concerned with what the American people want. But they do care about is the Grover Norquist pledge.
Yes, that has been their plan from day one. Mitch had declared that his main objective was to make Obama one term president! Hateful Hannity has always bragged about his policy of train wreck "Obama Express"! Limbo, also continues about president's job as a failure. He did not want to support Willard from the begning, but now that Mitt the Willard man is the nominee, he is on his side. The republican right wingers are famous for their dirty tricks. I have watched them from Bob Dole, Nixon, Lee Atwater (asked for forgiveness), Brook, and others are well known for their attacks, and lies.
Republicans are completely useless to 99% of American citizens. They refuse to create jobs in the hope of beating President Obama in November as their end game. But what American voters need to remember is the fact Republicans DO NOT KNOW how to create jobs in America.
They have spent 30 years union busting and offshoring jobs. The only job creation under Bush was war profiteering which conveniently went into the hands of Halliburton (Cheney and cronies) and The Carlyle Group (Bush Family & cronies).
Republicans bow at the feet of the elite who help get them elected and make them rich. "The payoffs and the ripoffs that nobody saw" is why we are in the shape we are in. Citizen's United passed by conservatives on the Supreme Court ensured they would continue to take down America.
The only hope we the people have is that people will wake up and stop voting against their better interest. As long as the middle class thinks losing pay, benefits and health insurance is good for them, we are on the way to a third world status. Republicans want us to compete with illegal slave labor. This is exactly WHY they do not want immigration reform to bring these people out of the shadows and into the tax system.
Anyone who votes Republican and is not rich is voting directly against themselves and their country. Unfortunately, Republicans have dumbed down so many people through the years, people jump to vote for the elite to further screw them over. Sadly, these same people are so ignorant of facts after being fed total BS on Faux News they are too dumb to get it.
Deal77: I have ask several times. You keep saying we had control of congress. Please name The 60 Democratic Senaters it takes to break the record # of filibusters. Name the 60 and you might have a touch of credibility.
I just wish I could somehow get Michael Moore to engage Patty Hearst into helping produce a series of educational politimercials on the effects of the Stockholm Syndrome, comparing what Senate Republicans have been doing from the beginning to wreak a pogrom of sheer scorched earth economic terrorism against the poor and the middle class! One of the climax line in one of spots could read: "You have at least one power that I did not have during the years of my captivity. It is YOUR VOTE. I know that some state leaders have taken your vote away or made it almost impossible to keep your voting right, but you still can help in canvassing drives and transporting voters to the polling places, but you are the ones that can fight back these "terrorist" by seeing to it that those that actively or passively participated in the pogrom are voted out of office!
Why yes.
How come these 'concerned citizens' were not upset about Bush and his failed economic policies during the 2004 election. Apparently it was okay to be an alleged 'lazy' president back then. Not only that but some folks were aware of a real estate bubble and the only ones that were making money back then...
I'm afraid we're all thinking WAY too small with this question.
Republicans are more concerned with defeating AMERICA than doing anything else! They mean to control EVERYTHING and EVERYONE at all cost!
There are no jobs being created because the GOP *needs* it this way, so the uneducated voters may be manipulated more effortlessly.
Defeating the President is simply a means to this end (defeating democracy).
Yes indeedy Oddball !
We will become a Plantation Nation if the Fascists get their way.
One Religion
One Political Party
One Central Bank that they control
One Education system based on the One Religion
One big day at Church to celebrate the death of all of the useless eaters who are not rich, white, gun-toting, fat, men and their oppressed families.
Larry...
How many times do you have to be given the list...I have seen it posted on at least 3 other threads on this blog.
Also...I saw it on at least 3 tv stations. It probably can't be found on the net, but it must be true.
Just saying...
Defeating obama is a job creating measure. The lefties remind us of that regularly,
One Central Bank that they control
LOL the central bank controls both sides. Not only do you have it totally mixed up you have it backwards.
Obama reappointed Bernake who is the biggest crook this country has ever seen.
Of course they are More concerned with Ousting Prez. Obama - they could care less about jobs - Geeez - If No-one can figure that out by Now - Come on !!!! yes they want President Obama to Fail - again - Come on - they have stated that from day ONE !!! Geeeezzzzzz !!! So Whats NEW ????? Yes They are Obstructing the Advancement of the American People - Cuz - They Dont Care - as long as They Are Still recieveing Their Unfair share of the taxpayers Money for Doing Absolutely Nothing !!!!
And Just Who In The Hell Is Norquist and Just What Rock Did He Crawl Out From Under ????? And - Why Are These GOMERS Sooo Dedicated To Him - Just Who Is He and Just How Is He Being Placed ABOVE OUR Constitution ????
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/robert-creamer/republicans-attempt-to-ac_b_1576962.html
Let's be blunt. Leaders of the Republican Party -- including their presidential candidate Mitt Romney -- have moved from "rooting against" our economy to actively attempting to sabotage the economy of the United States.
They believe that their chances of defeating President Obama, taking control of the Senate and maintaining control of the House of Representatives materially improve if the economic recovery stalls. And they aren't just standing around hoping that a European financial collapse or higher oil prices will send the economy into a second recession -- they are actively trying to make it happen.
Jobs Failures Of Governor Mitt Romeny : And he wants to be President ?
The GOP Putting Keeping Millions Out Of Work To Put ONE MAN Out Of A Job :
The republicans have a 'history' of making the economy stink, going all the way back to Hoover.
Yes they do Ethelouise and we are going to stop them !
VOTE
Obama/Biden/And a Democratic majority in Congress !
Clearly the republicans want the President to fail. What happens to the country in the mean time is not important to them. In fact high unemployment carries the added benefit (as far as the republican politicians are concerned) of keeping labor costs lower because there's more competition for jobs.
That's when we pull the plug on ALL their benefits and then see what they have to say about that. That ought to drop our national debt by a long shot.
Since the GOP has been dedicated to reducing pensions and salaries for all gov't workers, let's reduce THEIR pensions and salaries. See how they like that! After all, aren't they gov't workers? Aren't they getting their money from our pockets? No other workers get the kind of pensions that Washington gets.
Republican ( NOT ) Job Creation :
During the 2010 mid-terms the GOP ran mainly on the platform of job creation and, as a result of such promises, the GOP gained the majority in the House of Representatives. As the new Speaker of the House, John Boehner made the welcome claim that the primary goal of the Republican Party was to increase employment in the U.S.
His exact words were: "We're going to have a relentless focus on creating jobs."
The following, therefore, is a chronological list of legislation by the GOP beginning 2-10-2011 that I created for my own amusement. That it has reached its current imposing length, without one anecdotal citation of new employment as a result of Republican legislation, is simply shocking. Shame on these useless hypocrites.
There are those who choose to place the blame for high unemployment on Mr. Obama's shoulders, but keep in mind that it's the House that enacts legislation and controls the governmental purse-strings, not the President. The Stimulus package passed by the Democrats in 2009 helped the economy but would have been more effective if the GOP hadn't limited it to little more than a package of more useless tax breaks for the rich.
http://republicanjobcreation.com/
The link to the comments above that I had trouble posting.
cudos, v e r y entertaining!! i will keep up. i guess we should apply for these jobs?!
@Hope42012
The only jobs the republicans want to create are very minimum wage jobs, they also want to 'lower' the minimum was to less than $2.00 a hour and turn all the states in the union to 'right to work'. This they seem to think will improve the economy. They also seem to think that because there is no inflation and that the economy is 'bad' it justifies lowering the minimum to what they consider a 'sustainable' level.

Cite the sources for this ridiculous statement you've made.
You are not here for facts or sources ( even tho we all post them ) Chitown. Give it a rest.
CHi...Asking a Democrat for proof is as futile as asking a UNC fan to cheer for Duke during the NCAA basketball tournament....it won't ever happen...
Just saying...
You are not here for facts or sources ( even tho we all post them ) Chitown. Give it a rest.
What do you mean we? You don't post any facts here. That previous statement you made is ridiculous and is based on nothing but your own imagination and backed up by nothing.
So once again instead of providing facts and sources you use the tired liberal response used here all the time... that you've already provided sources, or that the person requesting proof doesn't really want it. Funny how nobody can find them anywhere here.
That's all they want to do---the Rep. are willing to let this whole country go down just to get what they want. There is no concern for the people !!! keep people from voting, make sure that you lay of as many people as you can (even if kids don't get educated)
Remember the Rich who are buying the country will always be able to educate their kids, Remember Romy's kids have enough money to last them a lifetime (remember all the tax-breaks they get and are still trying to get) Remember that the Tea-party bunch that was elected in 2010 have done NOTHING since they got into office!!
@Hope
Not only is it Toxic Vomit, but Europe is increasingly rebelling against the 'new' austerity measures being enforced by voting out all the conservatives...
Exactly Ethelouise. The Draconian Radicals on the Right want to take us back 100 years and HELL NO WON'T GO !!
slackware:: It sure as h311 NOT be Mutt Robme's money that will be on the line. H311 NO. It will be the 99% of the Americans (or as Mutt said, the Amercians) who suffer and Mutt and his richbich cronies will just get richer at our expense.
Mutt didn't do anything for Massachusetts when he was their esteemed (ha!) governor.
Who stopped YOUR parents from educating YOU? Whoever it was did a good job of making a jassack out of their child. In what rundown dangerous prison do you live? At least you get three hots and a cot.
Why don't you go to the big sandbox across the pond and enjoy their three hots and a cot? Or are you chicken?
DUMB QUESTION !!!!!!! Of course they want him to fail. They have been that way from day 1. The REICHPUBLICANS would rather see this country go down the tubes before OBAMA succeeds at anything. That's why I will NEVER vote for any REICHPUBLICAN at all ( if I could help it ).
eli...why don't you stop your crying about what other people's kids have or don't have. get out and get whatever you want for yours. wah wah...all you people do is try to find ways to make the government take it from others and give to you. EARN YOUR OWN, STOP YOU CRYING.
TED, The trolls are on steroids. Instead of beer and Brats Walker ought to serve wine with his cheese. Many will gloat till it comes to there door step and then they will shout like hell!!!
Tony ! I have worked since I was 13 and I am now 59. Stop telling us to WORK for a living. We do ! Caring about helping disadvantaged people does NOT make us lazy people who do not work. GET REAL !!!
PAM - What happened to the crackers ? Doesn't cheese and crackers go good with wine ? From what I heard,it does.
@Ted,
You are right. It is a dumb question. Both parties are guilty of obstructionism. The House has passed over 19 jobs bills that Harry Reid won't bring up in the Senate. There is enough blame to go around.
Hi Pam~~ Tony and his ilk, has had his brain so washed with bleech, he will never admit that gov is doing anything for him. I have seen those rabid republicans, who always scream to others that they want gov to give them everything and are too lazy to work for what they want, all the time they are working the system for every hand-out they can get even if they have to lie, cheat and steal to get it. I have no respect for any republican any more. They all cheat, lie, and steal and have no respect for our nation nor her people.
Ted I fogot them bloomin crakers! In there case lets make it a box of animal crachers LOl!
Great Gran. Reading your post made me think how lop sided this vendetta they have against the middle class is . They say no to what they call handouts and yet politicians and there family's receive the creme da la creme when it comes to entitlements and freebies. Who is screaming take there gravy trains away? They do not need that insurance or Bohner dose not need the golf trips and best hotels, liquor tabs. Fair it is NO where in there vocabulary! What are they willing to give up? What can we as there constituents start demanding we need to cut for the deficit? There is one pair of shoes and both will have to drop. This I will not raise taxes is no longer an argument either join America or leave it. They are pathetic!
@MDMI
Great case of Kettle color, not only that but the wealth has been redistributed to the rich! They are taking money away from us we were ordered by law to put that money away, its taken out of our paychecks - so that oil companies and corporations can pay less in taxes. AGain as Hope states more Toxic Vomit!
Hope, If you are on social security, the government IS your economic freedom.
It is not Obama who wants to take away people's "economic freedom', it is Romney and Ryan and the GOP, "any sacrifice for the rich" crowd. They are the ones who want to take food off people's table in order to keep the richest, like themselves, happy and ECONOMICALLY FREE!
What an immoral, odious bunch of toad excrement they are.
Totally India. I still work from home -- though I am almost too ill to do that any longer. I just count my blessings and keep on keeping on like so many Americans !
Hope, I am so sorry to hear that. How strange the way we picture others on the vine. You said your age and I had you as a young woman of about 30!
You have a young spirit. Hang tough and I will remember you in my prayers.
You remind me of a blogger I just loved: Ms.T! But I think she was actually a much older woman than you. She was quite ill.
Again, I am so very sorry to hear you are having problems like that. Stay strong. Our priest has a sign in our church that says, I believe in miracles.
I do too, and in prayer.
let's talk about WI some more. i can't thank you enough for showing the rest of that state, and the rest of the nation what unions have become. you got your butt kicked, and even ed's 37 viewers could not make a difference. and stop saying that walker outspent the unions by 7 to 1. that's a crock and you know it. whenver i come to this web page i am amazed by the absolute ignorance you perpetuate by going w/ the old "republicans are rich people who want to throw granny off the cliff"...you people as so dumb.
Wow- talk about delusional. I think you've been snorting a little too much Koch.
Keep selecting against your own survival Tony by supporting your Fascistic, Radical, Republican, Puppet Masters !
When the Right-Wing came after people of color you you did not speak up for them !
When the Right-Wing came after women and women's reproductive rights you did not speak up for them !
When the Right-Wing came after gay rights you did not speak up for them !
When the Right-Wing came after Religious Diversity you said nothing.
When the Right-Wing came after Senior Citizens you did not speak up for them !
When the Right-Wing came after workers, unions and the middle class you did not speak up for them !
WHEN THE RIGHT-WING COMES AFTER YOU TONY AND ALL THE RABID, RIGHT-WING BLOGGERS WHO COME HER TO SPEW TOXIC VOMIT

Hey tony-uka*uck, whatever that name means, You are catching me in a truly benevolent mood this evening, therefore I will only kick you in the gut and not in your tiny nasty bits. It is the moron voters like you that gave us this Peebagger congress and these scumbag traitor GOPTEA governors from the same 2010 election. It is the brainwashed, FOX watching, 30 second ad educated, corporate 1%er bought rhetoric believing sort like YOU tony that will be the end of OUR country. I fought in the USMC for 10 years - Did YOU Tony ? I lost my business to the Bush administrations greed games - YOU Tony ? My house is in foreclosure because I have not been able to get caught up because of the do nothing congress and lying GOPTEA pols that are keeping our economy tanked - YOU Tony ? You see Tony I have a special place in my sights for treasonists like YOU, Tony. It is mouthbreathing GOPBagger supporters like YOU that will vote our / YOUR country AWAY and you don't even know why; except some POLITICIAN whose salary is probably 10 times more than yours (and YOU pay) that you should do as they SAY - You see my embarrasment that I live in the same country as YOU ? I will bet you hate unions because you were never smart enough to be able to join one or they wouldn't have you.
http://www.politicususa.com/president-obama-schools-republicans-refusing-pass-jobs-bill.html
Obama Schools Republicans: "I Sent You a Jobs Bill Last Fall That Would Have
Put Americans Back to WorkWhile the economy is getting better, it’s not getting better fast enough.
President Obama used his weekly address to point out that while there are things
we can’t control, some things we can control.
Like that jobs bill full of bipartisan ideas he sent congress last fall…
The one they didn’t pass
don't know what you are thankful for, mom. the dems controlled the senate, house and executive branch for over 2 years, and wasted it on a law that wild be found unconstitutional and gutted. there is no hope for you, really. just go back to what you were doing, which is supporting politicians who like to take from others and give to you. what a joke.
did you know that this president has not presented a real budget to congress in three years. this has never happened before. the budgets they did vote on DID NOT RECEIVE ONE VOTE. every single democrat voted against the budget that obama presented to congress. doesn't that make you ask yourself, why?
tony -ukiah - I would rather see EVERY politician voted out of office and replaced with someone completely new ( but then we make a rule stating that they can't be in office for no more than 2 terms ).
tony,
do you know that the individual mandate is a repub, a CONSERVATIVE idea?
did you know, that according to conservatives, the INDIVIDUAL MANDATE was CONSTITUTIONAL before it was unconstitutional?
the only reason repubs find the individual mandate unconstitutional now, is because President Obama put it on the table to get repub votes.
yes, the individual mandate was constitutional beforee it was unconstititutional according to repubs.
why don't you ask yourself what the repubs in washington have to do with a budget not being passed?
they have made promises to each other to say "NO" to every economic plan that President Obama puts forth. their promises to each other, and their pledge to the muslim grover norquist are more important than their responsibility to the american people.
i have never seen such disrespect for the office of the presidency in my lifetime. their bigotry is shining through, and they are unembarassable. they don't care that everyone can see what they are doing, yet they are too cowardly and hypocritical to admit it.
they should just admit it. we all know what they are doing.
what a bunch of hypocritical cowardly bigots.
SUZETTE - You couldn't have said it any better, you go girl. But unfortunately the only way to get rid of those stuck up republicans is to VOTE them out of office for good.
@suzette,
Even if "according to conservatives, the INDIVIDUAL MANDATE was CONSTITUTIONAL before it was unconstitutional" doesn't mean that it was Constitutional. Even if both parties in Congress believed that it was Constitutional, it doesn't mean that it was unless the Supreme Court says it was. That is why we have the Supreme Court to decide if it is Constitutional or not. It's called a Balance of Powers.
Even if the Affordable Healh Care Act was passed unanimously by both parties, anyone that did not want to pay the individual mandate could and probably would fight it's Constitutionality all the way to the Supreme Court. It's Constitutionality was going to end up there anyway, it was just a matter of time.

You are talking about this, are you not?
The 2013 United States federal budget request for government operations for the 2013 fiscal year (October 2012–September 2013) was submitted by President Barack Obama on February 13, 2012, according to the budget process.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013_United_States_federal_budget
The House on Wednesday night unanimously rejected an alternative budget proposal based on President Obama's 2013 budget plan, dispatching it in a 0-414 rout.
The vote came just hours after the White House cast the pending vote as a political "gimmick," an apparent attempt to downplay what many expected to be an ugly-looking vote for the White House.
White House officials said Rep. Mick Mulvaney (R-S.C.), the sponsor of the alternative, was using Obama's top-line spending and revenue numbers as a budget proposal, without any specifics. On the House floor, Budget Committee Ranking Member Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) agreed that Mulvaney's amendment was not, in fact, Obama's entire budget proposal.
"This is politics at its absolute worst: presenting something as the President's budget without the policy detail, without the explanation to the American people about what's in the President's budget," he said. "And as a result, he presents a very misleading version of what the President has asked us to do."

Did I miss anyone larry74? It's not the first time I've posted this. You just don't listen.
Larry, so tell us how the Democrats passed Obamacare over a GOP filibuster when they held the majority in both the House and Senate during the first two years? Now if only they focused on the economy and jobs. Great post Drill Baby!
Thank you for sharing your toxic vomit.
Here is some truth for you.
Republican's filibuster record / stopping progress for America, Obama and the Dems !
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/03/01/gop-filibuster-record-rep_n_480722.html
WASHINGTON — The filibuster – tool of obstruction in the U.S. Senate – is alternately blamed and praised for wilting President Barack Obama's ambitious agenda. Some even say it's made the nation ungovernable.
Maybe, maybe not. Obama's term still has three years to run.
More certain, however: Opposition Republicans are using the delaying tactic at a record-setting pace.
"The numbers are astonishing in this Congress," says Jim Riddlesperger, political science professor at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth.
The filibuster, using seemingly endless debate to block legislative action, has become entrenched like a dandelion tap root in the midst of the shrill partisanship gripping Washington.
But the filibuster is nothing new. Its use dates to the mists of Senate history, but until the civil rights era, it was rarely used.
A tactic unique to the Senate, the filibuster means a simple majority guarantees nothing when it comes to passing laws.
"The rules of the Senate are designed to give muscle to the minority," said Senate historian Donald Ritchie.
With the Senate now made up of 100 members, two for each of the 50 states, an opposition filibuster can only be broken with 60 votes – a three-fifths majority.
As a matter of political philosophy, the concept of the filibuster arises from a deep-seated, historic concern among Americans that the minority not be steamrolled by the majority.
It is a brake and protective device rooted in the same U.S. political sensibility that gave each state two senators regardless of population.
The same impulse gave Americans the Electoral College in presidential contests – a structure from earliest U.S. history designed to give smaller population states greater influence in choosing the nation's leader.
Given recent use of the filibuster by minority Republicans and the party's success in snarling the legislative process in this Congress, Democrats say the minority has gone way beyond just protecting its interests.
The frequency of filibusters – plus threats to use them – are measured by the number of times the upper chamber votes on cloture. Such votes test the majority's ability to hold together 60 members to break a filibuster.
In the 110th Congress of 2007-2008, with Republicans in the minority, there were a record 112 cloture votes. In the current session of Congress – the 111th – for all of 2009 and the first two months of 2010 the number already exceeds 40. The most the filibuster has been used when Democrats were in the minority was 58 times in the 106th Congress of 1999-2000.
During most of Obama's first year in office and for a few weeks this year, 58 Democratic senators and two Independents who normally vote with them held a filibuster-proof 60-seat majority in the Senate.
That vanished last month when Massachusetts Republican Scott Brown captured the seat of the late Sen. Ted Kennedy, who died last summer.
Most notably, Brown's victory has stymied Obama's push to overhaul health care just as the bill was approaching the finish line. Before Brown's election, both the Senate and the House of Representatives had passed separate versions of the reform legislation.
Brown broke the Democratic 60-seat majority before the two chambers could meld differences in their bills for a final vote in both houses.
However, one of Brown's first votes after taking office saw him joining four other Republicans to help Democrats break a threatened filibuster by his party's leaders against a job bill.
The measure, $13 billion in tax incentives for businesses to hire unemployed workers, was quickly passed the next day with 12 Republicans joining Brown and 55 Democrats in favor of it.
Filibusters to make the Obama administration and Democrats in Congress look inept are one thing. Quite another is a vote against creating jobs in an economy with nearly 10 percent unemployment and midterm elections nine months away.
@Hope2012,
You posted,
"During most of Obama's first year in office and for a few weeks this year, 58 Democratic senators and two Independents who normally vote with them held a filibuster-proof 60-seat majority in the Senate."
This is what I've said and larry74 can't comprehend it. The Democrats could have passed anything they wanted during this period and didn't. They focused on the Affordable Health Care Act which is about to be found Unconstitutional.
If you care to look Lincoln voted GOP 98%, Liebermann campaigned with McCain and voted GOP 98%, And you also listed a couple repubs, and the 4 repubs registerd as Dems, known as "blue dogs" voted gop 80%. But Liebermann was enough to stop any filibuster. Even started more than one. Nice try.
@larry74,
I listed every single Democrat and the two Independents that caucus with the Democrats. I listed no Republicans. I asked you if I missed anyone? Is my list acurate?
BTW, I question your stats on Lincoln and Lieberman. The 98% seems to be made up. I'd like to see these facts as you had me list the 60 Democrats. It's only fair.
Spin baby spin Drill Baby !

@larry74,
Joe Lieberman was a Democrat his entire career. How can you say his views changed in 2009 after he voted Democrat his entire life and now found himself Independent?
Hope is not looking for excuses you are. Hope told the truth and you are trying to distort it. It is a matter of record, history that you will now try to obsfucate to try and fool people with more of your Toxic Vomit.
@Ethlouise,
Maybe you would like to have a say? I said that Hope42012 posted,
"During most of Obama's first year in office and for a few weeks this year, 58 Democratic senators and two Independents who normally vote with them held a filibuster-proof 60-seat majority in the Senate."
Maybe you have an opinion or some insight on this? What are your opinions on Hope42012's post?
It's not "Toxic Vomit", it's just a question.
@Drillbaby
I was NOT talking about you. And everything you spew is Toxic Vomit because the only reason you are on this board is to obsfucate not to have an intellegent disscussion you obviously want everyone to agree with you and that is not going to happen.
President Obama is not the evil socialist you seem to think that he is and your proof is propaganda spit out by teabaggers. And only the ignorant believe you.
@Ethelouise,
I'm glad you were not talking about me. I don't expect you to agree with me. It's obvious that you have drunken the Obama Kool-Aid so nothing you post will have any meaningful bi-partisan intellect. You pray to the alter of the "Anointed One" (Barrack Obama).
DrillBaby:: I'd rather drink the Obama Kool-Aid than your and Mutt Romney's vomit-- and that is all we are getting now days.
And you are a poor speller. Stay away from the grade school spelling competitions.
Drill baby, #7.27
What do you mean by that vile remark, The Anointed One? What kind of weird conspiracy theory spins around in your head?
How dare you say that any of us pray to Obama. I take great offence to that.
@Suzie,
What did I misspell? I used the spell checker. Guess the Liberal spell checker didn't catch it. Or maybe you don't know how to spell.
Drill...
You don't actually expect Larry to do produce proof for any of his ridiculous statements do you? That would be almost as silly as expecting Obama to know how many states there are in this country or for Biden to be able to count the number of letters in the word jobs...it isn't going to happen...
Just saying..
Of course, they're more interested in the President's failure than creating jobs. It's been like that since day one and the sad part is that it's so obvious and yet people who just don't like this President turn a blind eye to it.
Keep selecting against your own survival Tony by supporting your Fascistic, Radical, Republican, Puppet Masters !

It is so true and so despicable Carol that the Right-Wing, who use God as a weapon and Jesus as a mascot, are some of the cruelest, darkest, most evil people on this planet.
Such venom from the left. Such hate. Such desperation. Now tell us how your message is attractive to all Americans this November? :-) Such a vindictive and vile attitude. I guess Liberals call this a positive message.
I think you are looking in the mirror. But thanks for sharing more toxic vomit.
It is difficult to be positive when dealing with Draconian Radicals such as yourself.
But if you were really hear to read our progressive and liberal posts you would read much humor, hope, positive solutions, facts, and just plain great information.
Vatican:
Knock it off with the venom, hate, vile, vindictive....next spew? Go to an r/tp site and see what the language is there. Then maybe you'll appreciate this site if you're not just here to troll.
@Hope42012
This is a typical Nazi tactic - start a fight and then blame the victim when they defend themselves. They are not interestested in an intellegent discussion, they are not interested in even getting along just hoping to pick and fight with someone and have them banned from the site!
vatican is a re-reg, reading its post notice its smugness and condensing tone, sure reminds you of another troll. think he was here trying a nick close to its old one. i could be wrong my SWAG is captain america usmc.
LOL but who knows for sure could just be a sock that's just came out of the dryer.
@Pilotshark
I think that the same person could be registering twice under two different names but at the same time. This is how they have a tendency to 'gang up' on people when they become self rigthous and condensending... But amazingly they use the exact same information... I'm just saying.
LOL Pilot ! Another good one ! And Ethelouise, what this rabid, right-wing psycho is doing is using at least 5 different computers with different IP Addresses and when one of those IP's gets banned he just stops using it for a bit and then comes back with more toxic vomit under a new name. What he is being paid to do is post here as 5 or 6 people at a time to make it look like this blot is being flooded with right-wing rot. Not so very clever and really lame.
Hey Pilot....you could be correct. The words used remind me of the whining from Can't and Dave MO (both spawn of politicalwatcher and 2 of his sybils were banned yesterday using his AJ36 style). We'll just have to wait and see. We should take bets with each other using $10,000 Romney bucks. Make it interesting....actually more silly.
Did you see that stupid got a time out?
yes i did.
LOL my 10k SWAG for it is mikacommiefromrussia
and why are you lefties so worried about whether someone is a re-reg or not? Oh that is right, you don;t like people having freedom of speech when their opinion is different than yours.
Just saying...
MD/MI - You can thank the grand old puba regan on putting the idiot nordquist to come up with the current loonytoon pledges not to raise taxes on the rich.
How much do your Radical, Republican Puppet Masters have to lie to you and the rest of America while they steal billions and trillions of American Tax dollars, send our jobs overseas, destroy small businesses, use God as a weapon and Jesus as a mascot, before you wake up and smell the Fascism all around you ?
Taxes have to go up. When taxes were lowered in 2000 we had a surplus when the surplus dried up - the tax cut should have been suspended but we had a dummy for president in 2003 because he started not one but two wars one with a country that did not even attack us! Brilliant! Then he urniated away plenty of money with his republican controlled house and senate but now its okay to blame the 'new guy'... None of the 'brainiacs' that are complaining about spending now said anything during the BIG spending years of 2000 - 2008 but they apparently a very vocal now because they want to get rid of Obama. No other reason. None.
Yes Ethelouise. We studied Basic Accounting in Home Ed in High School and even at that age we we able to understand that money in / money out is how things get balanced. If there is no money in then the trillions of dollars being fraudulently used for The Military, Wall Street, Foreign Dictators, Banking, etc etc etc make things really out of balance.
Republican Radicals are trying to cut LEGITIMATE spending to cover up this CORRUPT spending that has been going on for decades !
His failure is there one and only mission. For 4 years they have set on there hands and done nothing! They have put there agenda above the needs of the people in this country. They are responsible for the stagant inviroment in Washington and are a disgrace to this nation and themselves. History will record them as the worst obstructionist of the 21st century. I hope it is record they are proud of!
PAM - Who knows what will be written in the history books about this BS that's going on now.I doubt if it would be anything good.
@Pam and Ted
The history textbooks are written by 'right to lifers' down in Texas. Apparently, they are going to re-write history too.
ETHELOUISE - Well if schools were to buy new textbooks,I would try to make sure that they weren't written in Texas. They might try to stick a bit of religion into them in the process.
Ted, Texans don't believe in the scientifically proven theory of evolution and try to keep it out of schoolbooks.
Could it be perhaps because they weren't part of the process?
@India
They do have a tendency to act as though they do not have brains, or intellegence...
Thank you for acknowledging my comments Ted and India. You are correct again Ethelouise.
If many of the schools do like they are doing here there will be e readers. They can stream anything they want. Omit and rewrite it! Education is the foundation of the world and those that do not have it are easily controlled and miss lead. For all the crap they want to throw out there about education i say baloney! My Grandsons have become friends with many foreign exchange students who come to our shores and they have learned from each other. If we believe it we can achieve it! I happen to believe in our youth and encourage them to reach above and beyond and dream of what could be! I tell you my friends the Republican party are the most pessimistic bunch of knuckle heads there is. It is high time we stand with our teachers and the amazing students we have . They are the future and its up to us to help them achieve there dreams. I am on fire today for sure.
GM Pam 52. It is a beautiful day. As I told Larry, check out my post on Romney during Vietnam. It further on in this blog.
WOW! That's all they are!
http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-505245_162-57449185/nd-supreme-court-rejects-property-tax-lawsuit/
In ND the PUSH for Measure 2 to eliminate property tax is in it 2nd reincarnation, it obviously diidn't pass the last time in 2009 I think it was. A rich entrepreneur from the West coast has re-written it and a pushing for it. It would move the way taxes are collected some of which would come from alcohol, lottery tickets and things yet unknown calculated formula. Can you say WOW! I'm sure it would pass in Wisconnsin.
We passed a property tax role back several years ago. Property taxes couldn't excede the % more than they were in 1985. That sounds good. Except all it did was, county official just raised the "real market value" of your property.
With the housing market in the tank. Houses losing value, 2010, my "value" went up $20K. A church, with 5 buildings and 3 acres, went up $20K. Everybody in this county had their value increased by $20K. 2011 was a little better, only $6K. I wrote and told them, if they could sell my place for what they say it's worth, I would slit the profit with them.
I don't mind paying my taxes. Property taxes pay for many important things. I do get pissed when they lie about it. It's not hard here to pass a bond measure. Very few have failed. None for supporting schools.
Republican's failure to create jobs :
http://republicanjobcreation.com/
@larry74
From my own personal experiance, I have owned three houses in three seperate states - and the only thing that lowers your property values are republican politicians using creative fianacial analysis to rip off honest taxpayers who obey the law and take extremely good care of their property even when they are recovering from back surgery... They 'hire' people at a liveable wage to mow their lawn.
Ethelouse, Romney hired illegals to do his lawn. He's tight with his own money.
Of course he was shocked to discover they were illegals. (wink, wink).
Appalled and shocked!
LOL just like old lue dobbs.
the no i hired someone who hires the help. i had no idea as they spoke broken English so well.
and well maybe we shouldn't just pick on the guys there always Meg and her house keeper of years.
http://www.politicususa.com/gop-killed-4-million-jobs.html
In the now 300 plus days since Republicans have taken control of the House,
GOP policies have zero jobs and destroyed over 4.2 million jobs through spending
cuts and legislation.
At the 200
day mark of GOP control, House Republicans had voted to create 0 jobs, and
had cast votes that would kill 1.9 million jobs. House Republicans have also
pushed through spending cuts that they claimed would create jobs, but they have
had the opposite effect.
According to study
by the Center For American Progress, an additional 60,000 jobs were when
Republicans slashed funding for law enforcement, clean up at nuclear weapons
production facilities, and The Federal Buildings Fund of The General Services
Administration.
The study found that this was just the tip of the iceberg,
Estimates of the number of jobs directly lost by these cuts run upwards to
60,000. The jobs losses that are a direct result of those actions will have a
secondary impact on a wide array of businesses ranging from automobile producers
to local restaurants and dry cleaning establishments, causing the disappearance
of a significant number of additional jobs.Similar stories could be told about many other budget cuts made in this
bill—cuts that resulted in further job losses—but that would require many more
pages and exhaust the patience of most readers. All of the various 250 program
reductions in the FY 2011 continuing resolution probably eliminated more 370,000
jobs.
It is not just that Republicans have no interest in creating jobs, but the
GOP has a vested electoral interest in killing jobs. As Sen. Bernie
Sanders explained yesterday, Republicans are voting against any legislation
that might create a job. The Republicans have been pushing spending cuts because
they know that cutting spending is the one sure way to make sure that
unemployment doesn’t decrease. The Republican Party doesn’t care that millions
of their constituents are suffering. They are trying to defeat Barack Obama and
win an election.
House Republicans are literally creating unemployment with their policies.
Besides their spending cuts, the House GOP voted for three separate bills that
would kill 1.9 million jobs, H.R. 1, H.R. 2, and H. Con. Res. 34.When you add in
the 2 million
jobs that House Republicans are not creating by refusing to vote on the American
Jobs Act, and the 370,000 killed by spending cuts the total is 4.27 million
jobs that the GOP is either refusing to create or has killed.
Over 20% of nation’s unemployed could be back to work if Republicans would
embrace job creation instead of job killing. Republicans are prolonging this
recession for political gain. After more than a year of these tactics, this fact
is no longer a shock or a surprise. It’s reality.
If House Republicans won’t let the American people find a job, then the only
thing to do is make sure that they lose theirs.

Geeeezzz TM - ya think you could find a more lengthy article --- Whoa -- he he heee !!!
You're forgiven.
Even IF the republicans got control of the presidency, house AND senate, they still wouldn't be creating any jobs. They will pass MORE tax cuts for the walthy 'job creaters' that will destroy our nation and send us back to the Feudal era. Schools will only be for the wealthy and evey social program will be shut down. We will become a 3rd world nation.
@TM,
The first stimulus passed and cost the taxpaxers almost $800 billion. According to the Obama Administration, it either save or created 3 million jobs. That cost the taxpayers over $250,000 per job. Another 4.2 million more jobs created by the Government (notice how I said by the Government) would have added another $1 trillion dollars to the deficit. Thank God the Republicans didn't go along with it.
Tell us how the GOP controls the Senate when Harry Reid is the Leader of the Senate? Really? :-)
Here is how : ( don't read this if you don't want to know the truth )
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/03/01/gop-filibuster-record-rep_n_480722.html

Let's not forget that the Democrats and Obama could have passed anything they wanted during this period.
Thank God they can filibuster radical Lefist Bills now. There was a time that they couldn't.
Also the 'stimulas' is over one third TAX CUTS at the insistance of republicans who still DID NOT vote for it! The tax cuts were a compromise to people who still insist that the President - Obama is not doing enough for the economy and is not 'working with them'. Unfortunately the stimulas was not big enough yet another compromise. Now you are 'bleating' that Obama should be fired for not working with republcans to 'create jobs'.
Republicans are so inept that cannot even balance a checkbook much less a budget.
Drillbaby,
At the end of 08, when Bush had virtually destroyed the economy, guess who was begging him to pass a stimulus: WILLARD M. Romney, draft dodger, liar, flip-flopper, and hypocrite.
He was FOR the stimulus but against it when Obama passed it.
For abortion, now against it. Etc. Etc. I'm just waiting for this panderer to address a bunch of gays and make the Big Announcement. Out of the closet at last....Oh, yeah!!!
Thankful #14 Mama mia! Are you working on your dissertation? LOL
The republicans have been jerks since Obama was sworn in as President of the United States.
They believe screwing over the American people is more important than doing the job they were elected to do in November 2010.
You know you are a Teabagger when :
http://web.blomand.net/~dennmac/reich-wing/teabagger.html
You didn't get mad when the Supreme Court stopped a legal recount and appointed a President. You didn't get mad when Cheney allowed Energy company officials to dictate energy policy. You didn't get mad when a covert CIA operative got outed. You didn't get mad when the Patriot Act got passed. You didn't get mad when we illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to us. You didn't get mad when we spent over 600 billion(and counting) on on illegal war. You didn't get mad when over 10 billion dollars just disappeared in Iraq. You didn't get mad when you saw the Abu Grahib photos. You didn't get mad when you found out we were torturing people. You didn't get mad when the national debt doubled under the previous President from $5.674 trillion to $10.024 trillion. You didn't get mad when the government was illegally wiretapping Americans and the President lied about it. You didn't get mad when we didn't catch Bin Laden in Tora Bora. You didn't get mad when you saw the horrible conditions at Walter Reed. You didn't get mad when we let a major US city drown! You didn't get mad when the deficit hit the trillion dollar mark. You finally got mad when the government decided that people in America deserved the right to see a doctor if they are sick. Yes! Illegal wars, lies, corruption, torture, stealing your tax dollars to make the rich richer, are all ok with you, but helping other Americans... well that makes you mad!
@Hope42012
They didn't get mad when Bush campaigned in 2004 and he had a job to do back in Washington. They also didn't get mad when Bush was on Vacation for almost half of his presidency..,., Almost the whole four years!
Is Romney @!$%#ing kidding???? Apparently he forgets the Jobs Bill that President Obama tried to have passed. Where is Romney's plan for jobs????? There's something I've NEVER heard!
NON Job Creation of the GOP !
Non-Job Creation Legislation of 2012:
1-2-2012: Congress will return to session on January 17th. They will work for six whole days this month. Must be nice. Don't expect much Federal job creation during this period.
1-18-2012: Here we GO!
On Tuesday, the 17th, the House selected a new, as-yet-unnamed, Sergeant-At-Arms. On the 18th the House will attempt, and fail, to vote down Mr. Obama's request for a debt increase. The House will then adjourn until Monday. No jobs were created.
1-20-2012: Congress is in recess until Monday. Have a nice weekend, everyone, and enjoy your food stamps. No jobs were created.
1-23-2012: Not much today. Just a panel discussion on doing business with the military, plus some GOP shenanigans called the Legally Binding Budget Act of 2011. Simply put, it's an attempt to make the president culpable for lousy budgets. No jobs were created.
1-25-2012: John Boehner claims that the GOP passed 30 jobs bills in the past session of Congress. Well, they passed 30 "somethings" but they certainly had little to do with job creation. Follow the link and laugh.
1-27-2012: The House held hearings on Wednesday trying to cut retirement benefits for federal employees. They also redefined what an "aircraft" is. They then took Thursday off.No jobs were created.
1-30-2012: On Friday, the 27th, the House was in session for a whole four minutes. Aaaaand, the House is basically in recess until the 1st of February. No jobs were created.
2-1-2012: On Tuesday, the 31st, the House voted on a motion to consider the repeal of the CLASS Program, part of the Affordable Health Care Act aimed at helping low-income citizens get health care. It passed on party lines. Don't expect it to escape the Senate. No jobs were created.
2-3-2012: The House proposed a bill that keeps welfare recipients out of strip clubs, casinos, and liquor stores. The actual purpose of the bill was to have Democrats vote against it so that their Republican opponents can claim Democrats are FOR such nonsense. The bill passed 395-27 but it will die in the Senate, so ha-ha-ha, GOP. No jobs were created.
2-6-2012: Last week House Republicans approved language for debate on two bills that would gut Federal programs without having to pass specific legislation. This would, essentially, equal more tax cuts for big business. No jobs were created.
2-8-2012: The consistent upward trend in employment numbers would seem to be an excellent time for the GOP to bathe in glory as shepherds of the economy. But even though they've done absolutely nothing to increase employment for the past year all they can do is grumble that "More should be done". For once, they're right. No jobs were created. No jobs were created.
2-10-2012: House Republican's are watering down the insider trading bill so that Democrats will vote against it. Thus, come November, our GOP pals can say that Democrats are actually for insider trading. What more could we expect from these useless conservative sleezeballs? No jobs were created.
2-13-2012: Today there will be exactly one hearing about "exploring all energy options." It should be called "exploring oil energy options."
Meanwhile, Senate Republicans are trying to kill the Violence Against Women Act. No jobs were created.
2-15-2012: So which party has introduced "the most partisan" and "worst transportation bill [Transportation Secretary Ray Lahood] has seen in 35 years?"
Go on... guess. (Hint: It wasn't the Democrats.)
No jobs were created.
2-17-2012: The House will presumably vote on and pass the payroll tax extension today. Then they'll leave town for ten days in order to celebrate Presidents Day. Cushy gig. No jobs were created.
2-20-2012: Congress is out this week on an extended Presidents Day vacation. Between now and April they're going to take four weeks off. Who the heck made this ridiculous schedule? (Hint: The majority party in the House. The idea being, I suppose, that the less Congress is in session, the less gets done.) No jobs were created.
2-27-2012: The Congressional Circus is back in action after a week off for President's Day, and today they'll be considering H.R. 4078, "The Regulatory Freeze of Jobs Act of 2012." It's worse than it sounds as its intent is "to provide that no agency may take any significant regulatory action until the unemployment rate is equal to or less than 6.0 percent." Cue the sad trombone sound.) No jobs were created.
2-29-2012: The House failed to pass the Research Works Act, which would have prohibitied federal agencies from releasing the result of taxpayer-funded research. No jobs were created.
3-2-2012: Yesterday the House spent most of the day debating and passing the San Joaquin Valley Water Reliability Act. Meanwhile, in the Senate, Democrats, plus Olympia Snowe, fended off the execrable Blunt Amendment. Meanwhile, Speaker Boehner vows to continue contraception fight. Because it's all about jobs, right? No jobs were created.
3-5-2012: On Thursday, the 1st of March, the House unanimously voted to allow itself to give oral histories of the civil rights era, then condemned Iran for finding one of its citizens guilty of apostasy. The House then took Friday off. No jobs were created.
3-7-2012: On Monday the House spent two whole hours naming two federal buildings and then adjourned. On Tuesday they shuffled paper all day regarding a Bureau of Reclamation bill involving hydropower development. No jobs were created.
3-9-2012: The House spent all day Thursday debating H.R. 3606, the "Jumpstart Our Business Startups (JOBS) Act". It is better known as the "Reopening American Capital Markets to Emerging Growth Companies Act". What it actually is, is a financial market deregulation bill. What it REALLY is, is a fake jobs bill. No jobs were created.
3-12-2012: Last Friday, March 9th, members of the House attended a hearing in Saranac Lake, NY, to discuss a farm bill. No jobs were created.
On Monday, March 12th, the House has scheduled a single hearing on (Are you ready?) "Explosion of Federal Regulations Threatening Jobs and Economic Survival in the West"... in Elko Nevada. DAMN those regulations! No jobs were created.
3-14-2012: The House is in another recess until Tuesday, the 20th of March. (In case you don't know, the GOP wrote this schedule. It was designed to ensure that as little legislation would get done as possible.) No jobs were created.
3-19-2012: The House is theoretically in session. They're back in Washington but nothing much is scheduled this week except for hearings. They might as well be painting their bedroom's black and listening to Led Zeppelin albums. No jobs were created.
3-21-2012: On Monday, the 19th, the House was called to order at 4PM. They then spent the next four hours arguing a bill that would allow Israeli nationals to receive nonimmigrant visas. No jobs were created.

4-9-2012: The House has scheduled a series hearings this week. No jobs will be created.

4-18-2012: The House voted down the Buffet Rule, awarded Lena Horne a posthumous Congressional Gold Medal, then argued the rest of the day about rules to "enhance" hunting, fishing, and shooting. No jobs were created.
4-20-2012: The House passed "The Small Business Tax Cut Act" (H.R. 9) but they might as well have named the bill "Ponies For Everyone" because it wasn't about small business, and it will never pass the Senate. No jobs were created today.
4-23-2012: The House was in pro forma session. No jobs were created.
4-25-2012: The House spent the day dealing with the legislative version of cleaning their room. In this case it meant passing bills that dealt with adjustments to the boundaries of parklands, land swaps, and the like. No jobs, or anything remotely like them, were created.
4-27-2012: The House pased a couple of suspension bills (The DATA Act and the Small Business Credit Availability Act). They also passed CISPA, which is distressing, but the prez has promised a veto. Looking forward to that. Oh, and no jobs were created.
4-30-2012: On Friday the House approved a bill that lowers the interest on student loans, but tacked on a rider which guts the Health Care Act. It's designed to result in a presidential veto, at which point Republicans can claim that Mr. Obama doesn't care about student loans.
@!$%# these people! @!$%# these people! @!$%# these horrible, greedy, useless, poisonous bags of scum!
5-2-2012: The House is in recess until 5-7-2012. No jobs will be created.
5-9-2012: The House is back in session but they only passed a handful of suspension bills. No jobs were created.
5-11-2012: The GOP-led House passed several bills that denied the Obama administration funds to fight for progesssive issues. Read the dismal details here. No jobs were created even though Speaker Boehner again claimed the GOP had a tight focus on jobs... when being specifically asked about why his party is passing so much anti-gay legislation. @!$%# this guy.
5-14-2012: Last Thursday the House passed the Sequestration Replacement Act, designed to fatten the Pentagon coffers at the expense of the elderly and the poor. It is destined to die in the Senate. No Jobs were created.
5-16-2012: The House was not in session on Monday, but on Tuesday the legislators busied themselves passing noncontroversial suspension bills. Ho-hum. No jobs were created, but you already knew that.
5-18-2012: The House passed a watered-down Violence Against Women Act. Basically, if you're an immigrant or a native American woman, you're fair game for any sadist. They'll pass a major defense funding bill tomorrow and then will take the next week off. No jobs were created.
5-21-2012: On Friday the House passed a bloated defense spending bill, even though they were obligated to cut defense spending as part of the Super Committee agreement. Not only did the new bill include discriminitory language it also included an amendment allowing the government to institute propaganda against the American people. The president has vowed to veto this bill. No jobs were created unless you count the military contractors rolling in effluent streams of your tax dollars.
5-23-2012: Say it with me now: "The House is in recess until the 30th of May. Must be nice to have so many vacations. Oh, how I hate those indolent GOP swine."
6-1-2012: Another day, another abortion bill. This time the "Susan B. Anthony and Frederick Douglass Prenatal Nondiscrimination Act." Which was designed to stop abortions based on sex or race. Seriously. It failed. Apart from that bit of nonsense the day was one long last-minute rush to pass bills that pay the bills. No jobs were created.
6-4-2012: Last Friday three Democratic (Hahn, Kaptur, Tonko) amendments to increase funding for energy efficiency and renewable energy failed, while three Republican (Hultgren, Chaffetz, McClintock) amendments to reduce funding of energy efficiency and renewable energy also failed. No jobs were created.

(20) 5-2-2011: The Judicial Branch of the GOP, the Supreme Court, votes 5-4 to deny consumer class-action suits.
(21) 5-4-2011: Redefining rape. Yes, redefining rape.
(22) 5-6-2011: Pushing for spending caps tied to GDP. (That's a really, really REALLY bad idea.)

(24) 5-11-2011: Refuse to reduce oil subsidies.

(32) 5-27-2011: Spent five hours debating NPR, five minutes debating Afghanistan.
(33) 5-27-2011: GOP releases their jobs plan. Hilarity ensues.
(34) 5-30-2011: Continue to hold the debt limit hostage in order to make more money for billionaires.
(35) 6-1-2011: Brought to the House floor a bill specifically blaming President Obama's 2012 budget for raising the statutory debt limit by $2.4 trillion dollars, a budget the very same Republican-led Congress earlier passed.
(36) 6-6-2011: Pulled from the floor a Democratic resolution to remove soldiers from Libya, because it just might have passed.
(37) 6-3-2011: Conceived a plan to replace three federal employees with just one federal employee. Yes, they're now actually reducing jobs.
(38) 6-9-2011. Nothing. They did absolutely nothing to create jobs. Not a damn thing.
(39) 6-13-2011. Nothing, though they're jabbering a lot about privatizing Social Security. Again. Sigh.
(40) 6-15-2011. Attempts to cut billions from needy seniors and hungry children in order to raise the defense budget... again.
(41) 6-17-2011. The GOP is censoring Democratic congressional newsletters because they're using the GOP's own words to define the excremental Ryan Budget. Nice.
(42) 6-20-2011: The GOP held a convention in New Orleans and hired an Obama look-alike to stand on stage and tell racist jokes. So +1 to the GOP for giving a man a job but -1,000,000 points for the kind of job it was.
(43) 6-22-2011: I'm sad to report that the GOP didn't do a dang thing to create jobs today, but I'll give them credit for not using senior citizens for skeet shooting practice.
(44) 6-24-2011: Yesterday the Democratic Congress stood up on its back legs and finally barked out what so many of us have been saying for the past six months--- that the Republican Congress is actively trying to stall the economy. There, was that so harrrrrrrd?
(45) 6-27-2011: The Republican Congress voted to raise the debt ceiling EIGHTEEN times for President Bush. Now the the GOP is holding collective their breaths and pitching fits, perfectly willing to cause world economic collapse just because that darned old spendthrift Obama wants to eliminate the corporate jet depreciation tax credit for their rich friends. Oy vey.
(46) 6-29-2011: Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) spent $9 million dollars of his own money in his race for a senate seat in 2010 but afterwards had his own company pay him back to the tune of $10 million in "deferred compensation". Is this illegal? Very probably, though it oddly resulted in one new American job: Senator Ron Johnson. So way to go, GOP! Only ten million more jobs to go.
(47) 7-1-2011: The GOP is on vacation until the 7th of July, even though a world-altering problem with the debt ceiling is looming. But don't worry, Democratic Senator Harry Reid and his left-wing pals are staying in Washington to get some real work done.
(48) The GOP was off for the 4th of July holidays.
(49) 7-6-2011: No new jobs to speak of but the GOP is working diligently to keep their true constituency, Wall Street fat cats, rolling in simoleons by attempting to roll back the financial reforms passed last year.
(50) 7-8-2011: Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor's bright idea is to close tax loop holes.... and then give the accumulated monies back to the rich in the form of reduced taxes. That's our little non-job-makers!
(51) 7-11-2011: Speaker of the House John "Weepy-Boy" Boehner admits that not raising the debt limit will cost jobs. Ahhh, that explains everything. Atta boy, GOP!
(52) 7-13-2011: The GOP claims they passed 9 bills that would create 500,000 jobs. Except they didn't create jobs. They really, really didn't.
(53) 7-15-2011: Finally. The GOP is doing some investigating, but it's not about Wall Street or Rupert Murdoch. The target in their cross hairs this time is <groan> Planned Parenthood. Again. This is the official definition of insanity, you know.
(54) 7-18-2011: Not only does the GOP continue to insist on slashing federal spending, which will cost jobs, jobs and more jobs, but now they want to hack the Constitution.
(55) 7-20-2011: Are you ready? The GOP today passed a bill that would "amend the Securities Act of 1933 to specify when certain securities issued in connection with church plans are treated as exempted securities for purposes of that Act." Ooooh, I'm all a-tingle.
(56) 7-22-2011: While unemployment claims are rising again the GOP is putting the screws to small airports in order to kill union labor.
(57) 7-25-2011: Speaker of the House John Boehner walks out of a debt ceiling meeting because that mean old pwesident Obama wouldn't knife his health care plan. Poor widdle John.
(58) 7-27-2011: No new jobs but at least 4000 workers have hit the bricks as a result of the GOP's jihad against airport unions.
(59) 7-29-2011: The GOP wasted the past two days on its version of a debt ceiling bill that even its own party won't vote for. John Boehner is a miserable failure as both the Majority Leader and as a shepherd for these hard times.
(60) 8-1-2011: The GOP breaks out the fiddles while the economy burns. The tune they favor is the "Screw The Poor and the Elderly" polka, and they're hitting the coda HARD.
(61) 8-3-2011: The GOP is screwing everyone over by refusing to fund the FAA. As a result, airlines owners are currently pocketing millions in taxes that should go to the government.
(62) 8-5-2011: GOOD NEWS! The GOP has a plan to create 300,000 jobs.... no, wait. That's eliminate 300,000 jobs. Sorry.
(63) 8-8-2011: The GOP is on vacation but their henchmen continue to usurp the voting process by sending out phony absentee ballots.
(64) 8-10-2011: The GOP is proposing something called the REINS act which essentially gets rid of safety inspectors. So less jobs and more poison in your children's food. It's win-win, uh, lose-lose, uh, whatever!
(65) 8-12-2011: Employees of Boeing had their jobs illegally pulled out from underneath them. Guess which political party is doing their best to see that these employees don't have their day in court. Bingo!
(66) 8-15-2011: Yayyyy! Republican Darrell Issa, Chairman of the House Oversight Committee (which investigates government corruption) is keeping his home district busy by securing millions of dollars for road and public works projects. I guess it was just a complete coincidence that most of the work is planned near properties Mr. Issa owns. Uh-oh.
(67) 8-17-2011: Republicans Darrell Issa and Dennis Ross introduced a bill in July that would accelerate the destruction of the USPS and put all of its employees, hundreds of thousands of good Americans, out of work.
@!$%# Darrell Issa and @!$%# Dennis Ross! @!$%# 'em until their ancestors rise from the dead and beg forgiveness for ever having sired the malevolent little bastards.
(68) 8-19-2011: Hey, look! Good old Darrell Issa, Republican, has hired a guy named Peter Haller to help effect new regulations for banks, like Goldman Sachs. Unfortunately, Mr. Heller used to be called Peter Simonyi when he was a vice president for (wait for it) Goldman Sachs. Oh, you can bet you boots there's nothing underhanded about hiding behind another name. Not a thing. Nada. Zip. Zero.
(69) 8-22-2011: The GOP has a new job-creation plan... to have one rammed down their throats. You see, the Democrats want to include a job-creation trigger in the new Super Committee that will require the Republican Party to vote either for or against it. To vote against it would be, uhhh, dumb but I wouldn't put anything past our little conservative pals. Stay tuned.
(70) 8-24-2011: The GOP has been quiet on the job front lately so I have a request of Republican Presidential candidate Rick Perry...
Re-invest in your porno companies, Rick.
It doesn't have to be a large investment but at the very least you'd put a few porn stars back on the cock, uh, I mean clock. Heck, if you're lucky they might even name a new position after you, one that no doubt involves the same anal lube that keeps your hair in place.
(71) 8-26-2011: Hey! It's our old pal Darrell Issa again, and he's hired a very nice man named Kurt Bardella to work for him on the Oversight Committee... only it's the same Kurt Bardella he fired five months ago for breach of trust. Guess this leopard found some really effective spot remover.
(72) 8-29-2011: Suppose you have a job but you need help with your mortgage. There's still $30 billion in the Troubled Asset Relief Program but the GOP wants to re-route that money to the federal deficit. This means more people will lose their homes and perhaps become homeless. Eventually jobless. Nice work, GOP.
(73) 8-31-2011: When the GOP returns from vacation they plan on voting every week to gut every government regulation within arm's reach because, you know, "regulation costs jobs". What they refuse to acknowledge is that regulation has been proven to actually create jobs.
(74) 9-2-2011: After unbridled "success" wrecking the economy once again with their "debt-ceiling" stunt House and Senate Republicans are starting to mumble about stalling the upcoming Highway Bill, costing Americans almost 2 million jobs. (These bills have traditionally been passed by overwhelming margins.)
(75) 9-3-2011: A recent CNN poll reveals that those who self-identify as Republicans would rather the president focus on jobs, not the deficit, by a margin of 54%-44%. So why has the Republican Party not proposed one, single jobs bill in nine months?
Because they're not Republicans! They're shills for their corporate masters who they can't WAIT to get another Republican stooge in the White House so they can screw the American people all over again like they did from 2001-2009.
(76) 9-5-2011: The GOP is on a Labor Day break, which is sort of like atheists enjoying Christmas services with the Pope, so not much in terms of job creation is happening. For now, we'll just have to thank presidential candidate Mitt "Magic Underpants" Romney for hiring all of the workers who will be laboring to quadruple the size of his California beachfront mansion.
(77) 9-6-2011: Michelle Bachmann has a brilliant new answer for lots of high-paying jobs... slash the corporate tax rate to zero.... except corporate America is already paying an effective rate of zero. Even so, job creation is down the dumper. Back to the Etch-A-Sketch, Michelle.
(78) 9-8-2011: Presidential candidates Jon Huntsman, Mitt Romney, and Herman Cain have just announced their jobs programs. It's tax cuts for the rich, tax cuts for the rich, and tax cuts for the rich. Why didn't we think of this before?
(79) 9-9-2011: Rick Perry wants to kill Social Security. He also wants to eliminate the FDA, the FCC, the U.S. Post Office and just about all other federal employees except the military, the Supreme Court and himself. It's kind of a jobs plan if you long for 12th century feudalism.
(80) 9-11-2011: On Friday President Obama outlined a job's plan that is seen by economists as win-win. The Republican response to the program is to whine about it.
(81) 9-12-2011: Not much governance today so I think I'll just make a little comparison... which two types of professions do you think result in more jobs? Wall Street commodity speculators, or educators? And which group do you think the GOP is doing its darndest to reduce in numbers?
(82) 9-14-2011: I gotta hand it to the GOP. In this bleak economy they've found a way to increase jobs... in hospital emergency rooms. What they're doing is trying to cut funding in the transportation bill for bike paths and pedestrian walkways, thus ensuring more mayhem on our streets and guaranteed employment for EMT workers. It's pure gee-nyuss I tells ya!
(83) 9-15-2011: Today the GOP-led House passed a bill that would make it easier to fire union workers, union organizers, or simply move jobs overseas in order to bust a union. In essence, an anti-jobs bill.
(84) 9-16-2011: The government has provided loans that help the auto industry create jobs, loans that helped keep the assembly of the Ford Focus and the Nissan Leaf right here on American soil. Republican Majority Leader Eric Cantor plans to strip half that money to repair damage from Hurricane Irene... in HIS district.
(85) 9-16-2011: President Obama is trying to fast track job creation for a company called LightSquared and Republicans are pissed, evidently because the owner of the company had the audacity to donate to the Democratic Party. He, uh, ahem, also donated equally to the Republican Party.
(86) 9-19-2011: Republican Majority Leader Eric Cantor is back with a pithy statement about Mr. Obama's jobs bill: "While an all or nothing approach might make sense to some communicators, I hope the President realizes it would be better to work together." This from a man whose stated job it is to say, and I quote, "No" to anything the president proposes. I hope he gets a painful boil on his uvula.
(87) 9-21-2011: The leaders of the Republican Party just sent a letter to the Federal Reserve saying "Keep unemployment high." Honestly, the letter says, in essence, "Hey, those guys out there in the ocean are drowning. Hide the life-preservers."
(88) 9-23-2011: Look! It's Darrell Issa, Republican chairman of the House Oversight Committee, creating jobs. He's stumping for a huge loan package on behalf of a company, Aptera, which makes electric cars. This is great news, especially for the green economy, although I wonder if Mr. Issa would be so ecstatic if the company in question wasn't a major contributor to his campaigns.
Oops.
One more thing... the day after sending the glowing recommendation to the Energy Department Mr. Issa conducted a hearing entitled "How Obama’s Green Energy Agenda is Killing Jobs." Double-oops.
(89) 9-26-2011: The GOP is being suspiciously quiet so I want to take this opportunity to show you just how badly the Bush administration @!$%#ed-over the American people.
Is that all you have is FACTS! Why don't you make up some truth like the GOP supporters.
WOW what a list Hope!
@Hope42012,
You seem to be concentrating on the House. What has the Senate done lately? Where is their budget? It's only been over three years. Also, why doesn't Harry Reid bring the House bills up in the Senate for debate or a vote? Is he afraid some may pass and Obama will either have to sign or veto them. OMG! You mean our President won't be able to vote present.
Hope, TM, I have books shorter than those. Not as informative but shorter. Thanks for the info. DrillBaby's back and still doesn't believe truth and contunes to spew her BS.
Fantasy, Robme has talked about creating jobs. Deregulate, cut taxes. Deregulate, cut taxes. Sound familiar?
So which Liberal rag did that length list of BS come from? Daily KOS, Huffington Post, Moveon.org, NY Times, Mother Goose or some other lunatic fringe source? Do tell. :-) Not that we really care. :-)
Yes. The facts are always BS when they don't support your toxic vomit.
@Hope42012,
Maybe you can elighten us with your worthless Urban Dictionary? What's the definition of "Toxic Vomit"?
Actually Obama did try to pass a budget but republicans don't know how to budget they can't even balance a checkbook. Bush claimed his budget would not balance until 2013 - when he was out of office. See republicans don't know how to budget.
And it is a fact that Obama has spent less money then Bush, Bush, and Regan.
Drillbaby, I'd like to answer that: I know it when I see it and I see it often in things the trolls say. I'm sure Hope can define it.
@Ethelouise,
Yes, Obama did try to pass a budget and it was unanimously voted down in the Senate. It was not just Republicans but every member of the Democratically controlled Senate.
I honestly don't know where you're coming from.
@India,
"I'm sure Hope can define it."? What do you want Hope42012 to define?
you do know that President Obama CAN NOT Pass a BUDGET correct.
he can only give congress his budget purposal and congress can or not pass the budget.
This is why they get to Obsfucate - they purposly lied about Obama 'not' passing a budget. They use creative language to propagate a fact that is actually 'spent' to their advantage.
Then they become self righteous and condesending trying to make you think your and idiot because you don't agree with them. A pox upon them along with some 'toxic vomit'...
Exactly Pilotshark and Ethelouise ! Typical Radical Republican B.S. !!
You cannot damn our President for not going through Congress on the one hand and then damn our President for having to wait for Congress on the other hand to get things passed !
Or, maybe you can. Hypocritical Radical Republicans will say anything to win.
@Pilotshark & Hope42012 & Ethelouise,
I do know that the budget originates in the Congress. The Congress (i.e. the Senate) has been negligent in passing a budget for over three effin' years. Which party controls the Senate by the way? Oh yeah, it's the Democrats.
@India,
I'm sure Hope42012 can define where someone should bite him/her.
Well, Drillbaby, I'd be more than happy to tell you where to bite me, but you're at least smart enough to figure that out all by your little t-party self, aren't ya'?
How's that moderate, liberal, progressive, severely conservative, flip-flopping draft-dodging, little coward workin' out for your conservative theories these days? Think he'll overturn Roe-V-Wade for ya? Think he'll repeal Obamacare, which was based on his own idea? Think he'll rid ya' of that pesky gay marriage law y'all hate so much?
LOL Lots of Luck with Willard. You'll need it.
Ask Mr. Boehner about JOBS JOBS JOBS!!!!
Contact the Sunkist man and tell him! "The Senate has sent a bipartisan bill and it's now up to him to help the economy and rebuild the failing infrastructure NOW! Do this one simple thing before you go on break from obstructing the economy and peoples rights.

You will feel better for it!....pass it on!
Summer construction has begun and its time to act before winter comes..eh if it comes?
2.2 trillion dollars is needed, and for every dollar invested brings out $5 in return. So it would really help with help getting a $11 trillion dollars into the system.
Hi Rachel, He will just ignore us as he has the peoples overwhelming wishes in the past. But the point is to show them we ain't quitters and will keep the heat on!
XXX OOO Where is the out cry in this nation ? We have seen stunt after stunt from Bohner, and the rest of them to hold in there hand a pledge to Norquist and to look in the eyes of a nation and say we do not give a damn ! What will and should disgust this nation is if they suddenly become alter boys if Romney comes to town. I have said many times i am ashamed for our nation to be represented by them. There are no leaders in the Republican party but followers behind the Pied Piper Bohner!!!
Some people and I do too to some degree that the system is broken and overspends on things. But Democrats and Independents by all means should be up in arms! Ed and the others need to post reliable sources to show what they a claiming is true! Hey Ed and all the others on MSNBC have many of us to help them JUST give us a chance!
Pam wouldn't that be the pie eyed piper!
XXX OOO - I just left BONER a NASTYGRAM and gave him a piece of my mind in the process.Whether or not it will actually succeed on anything, who knows.
You guys are funny. You actually think boehner is going to spend money on this country? Jeez, that might put somebody to work and you know we can't be havin none of that. It also might allow for a better, more business friendly infrastructure. No way we can let that happen. <s>
larry
we don't have money to spend, that's why Boehner won't spend.
OMG. Is there no end to your toxic vomit ? You must have nothing left to spew. Oh. Never mind. That is just wishful thinking.
Boehner is also adding riders to "must Pass" bills to try getting around the $500billion mandantory defense cuts that were in the debt cieling agreement. Another rider to make the tax cuts permanant. He's going to hold the debt cieling, USA, hostage again. But, what the hell, we're paying them all for another vacation next week. They've worked sooo hard.
So jerry, did we have the money to spend on 2 conflicts? Did we have the money to spend when Ike built the infrastructure? Money is cheeper now than ever. Our infrastructure is so outdated and crumbling, it's been accessed as "dangerous". Our power grid, you know the one serving the country, could be taken out completely in about 10 min. Tell me how concerned these clowns are about "terrorism"?
There aren't any "must pass" bills.
We've reached the debt ceiling....enough is enough.
We didn't have money for 2 wars but we did it anyway. Big mistake. If we had a Conservative in office it wouldn't have happened.
Money is cheaper? Let's say you made 50k a year but you debt payments were 100k a year. Is that money cheap?
We should shut off the 45% that are getting government handouts and buid roads with the money.
But eugeniepatstheduck, what about all those people that depend on that money???? SCREW EM!
@larry74
Remember when Nancy Pelosi told them the republicans that they had to work on Mondays and Fridays and how they cried and wined when they could not get their 'time off' what a lazy bunch.
Oh and let's not forget how Bush was on vaction whole months at a time. It got to the point that protesters were going to Texas to catch him at home.
What a lazy lowlife maggot bunch.
Larry 74, and Pam 52,
It is time for Democrats to use a factual, and I believe, a winning argument about the moral character of Mittt Romney, which was most evident during the Vietnam war.
He was draft age during that war and obtained not 1, not 2, not 3, but FOUR draft deferments to avoid going to Vietnam.
Bad enough, but at the same time, he held up signs and fought for the draft and for the war, all the while knowing he would never serve his country IN the war.
None of his five sons ever served either, as his fellow Mormon, Jon Huntsman's son has, and Mitt had the unmitigated, callous GALL to say that they WERE SERVING their country by helping HIM get elected president. He actually had enough ego to make that statement and with a straight face.
He, Rush Limbaugh and and other draft dodgers are the first ones to want other men's children to serve in war, the first ones to start wars, and yet they are moral cowards and liars and will never serve by shedding a drop of their own blood.
Now someone tell ME why veterans are overwhelmingly supporting this yellow bellied piece of crap and want him as their commander-in-chief. EXPLAIN this.
India sad part is until they took him off the air. the troop hear more of him then the CIC.
now that coward is off the air, it should start to get better.
Pilotshark, I absolutely find him despicable. I can't even count the ways!
India, thank you in the memory of all those who fought and died and came home to an ungrateful nation . Mitt Romney is a coward 1 ,2,3,4 times and that he dare say what he has makes me sick! There is no shame in being afraid of war it is and was hell! I respect Lawrence O'Donnell being candid and honest! Mitt Romney do not use them to score political points that is as low as you can go! This fathers Day the children of Vietnam veterans will put a rose at the Wall and remember there fathers and find comfort in each other. For that man to go there would be to spit on those soldiers again. For any veteran who would want to elect this yellow bellied coward president is to turn your backs on you Vietnam Brothers and Sisters !
Pam, Glad you saw this, I knew you'd appreciate it. My AF vet husband did. So this is the yellow-bellied, hypocritical coward the war mongering right wing wants as their commander in chief?!!
Give me a freakin break. He wants cannon fodder, that's what he wants. What a great patriot he is, bicycling all over Paris, protesting FOR the draft and the WAR, knowing he's begged for and gotten deferments! Elitist swine!
OOOOOOhhhh, that galls me...I wish he'd choked on a damn croissant!
Beyond a shadow of a doubt they are. I can't believe they hate him that bad, that they would turn to such BAD measures. I am for OBAMA all the way. We can't afford Romey. He just a flip, flopper!
Within hours of his election, the Obama haters began plotting to make him a one-term president. We need to organize and demand that the Republicans stop standing in the president's way and help him to create a national job program. Unless we organize and speak up, we will see the whole country turned over to the crazies.
and you don;t think that the Bush haters were doing the same thing in 2000?
I've never seen the name "Grover Norquist" on any election ballot, have you? or did I just never get the memo.
Nor have I seen Rove or Armey or Koch or any one of these self-designated policy makers' names . . . yet they seem to have more clout than the collective electorate - OUR country.
The "T" (for Troglodyte) Party has managed to put the Repuglian Party in their debt and now has them in their pocket.
With a heavy heart, I remain,
A Former (and informed) Republican
Stevens join the club,I've been saying this all along.I've even been threatened on some blogs for choosing a more reasonable path and called a liberal as it its a four letter word.I stated on many occasion's that my Republican Party doesn't exist anymore and after Wisconsin I'm convinced that our Democracy won't be long at this rate,We the People have allowed it to be sold by the Supreme Court. When Citizen United Legislation was approved the American People should have stormed the Judiciary this is a rape of Our Union.
@Hope42012,
Is that the new buzz word, "Toxic Vomit"?
Maybe you can elighten us with your worthless Urban Dictionary?
@Hope42012
It kinda of obvious that they enjoy namecalling but cannot take it. Espcially when they are trying to whip things into a frenzy but are so lazy that they are always on 'vacation'
LOL Ethelouise. What was it that Mitt the Etch A Sketch Liar said ? What is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.
JStevens, I haven't seen those names on any ballots either, and so have never voted for any of them. What a sad commentary on this country.
We don't have a representative Democracy in America anymore. We have taxation without representation; we have a government by the money, for the money, and of the money. We have a government of the few, by the few, and for the few. (The few with the money).
My late parents were Eisenhower Republicans. My dad played golf on the same golf course as his beloved "Ike". On those dark nights of the soul, which happen more frequently now, I see them turning over in their graves.
I don't know what America will look like if Romney and the GOP take over, but my parents sure won't recognize it.

If you don’t have a job in this economy, BLAME YOURSELF!!
There are plenty of great jobs just waiting for the so-called “99%
-Americans” to do. For instance, there are tons of tomatoes and other veggies
rotting in Alabama farms. 99ers should go to Alabama and pick fruits for $1 a
bucket. At that rate, they only need to pick 100 buckets a day to feed their
families.
Or they can find a job at WalMart. Just push those old people currently
working there out of the way. They’re old anyway, and won’t put up much
resistance.
Or they can flip burgers at McDonald’s for the amazing salary of minimum
wage. The Mickey D’s down the block from me is hiring.
If 99ers don’t have a job, BLAME YOURSELF!!
But I can do better than offer career paths and job leads. I am personally
showing lazy liberals how I can create jobs. I need another gardener, who I pay
$40 every month. I also have some remodeling work in my kitchen that needs to be
done. I’ll pay you $50 for the whole day plus 2 cold cans of beer.
See that, liberal hippies? Now that’s a jobs plan Real Americans can get
behind!

I know you are a conserva-troll but this toxic blend of ignorance and
arrogance really annoys me. What the Republican christo-fascists really mean
when they say these things that you so willingly regurgitate is that they want
to turn America into a third world country, so that everyone except the “haves”
settles for terrible working and living conditions with barely enough money to
make a living for their family, no social safety net to speak of, and no hope of
raising themselves out of their situation.
What they want is a world run by
corporations, and every time you tell Americans that are standing up for
equality and the right to pursue happiness that they should blame themselves for
this situation you are not only being a condescending fool, you are also being
quite frankly un-American. These minimum (or less than minimum) wage jobs aren’t
bad, but telling educated young men and women entering the work force they
should pick tomatoes with their engineering degree is an insult. You are either
very privileged and enjoy grinding those less fortunate than you are under your
heel or you are being willfully ignorant of the plight of many
Americans.
Please, though, continue regurgitating your talking points to the
majority of Americans. When they hear what you and your corporate overlord’s
plan for America, I’m sure even more will stand up to join the 99%. I only hope
that we can get corporate money out of politics so that we can get back on track
to making America the land of opportunity and freedom that it was truly meant to
be.

Conservative Heart is being satirical. You do know what satire is, right? Or
did you get outraged in high school English when the teacher read “A Modest

Hey, copiki, I read about half way through it before I realized it was
satire… The problem is that this is the kind of stuff that conservatives
actually write! No wonder it takes a little time to separate the satirists from
the real conservative thinkers.

I love your sarcasm, Conservative Heart. Bravo, you almost sound like you
mean what you say! If you’re not making a hilarious joke, though, then I feel
bad for your point of view. Of course there are back breaking jobs in the field,
and at WalMart, and at McDonald’s, but if those are the only real attainable
jobs out there, then we’re screwed as a nation. A nation of minimum-wage workers
not really making jack @!$%# and only having the option of working for the mega
corporations as a base-level peon is NOT the way I want my America to be. We
weren’t like this 20 years ago, and to offer these stale crumbs of opportunity
as “good enough” is laughable. I’ll assume you’re joking, though, it gives me
hope we can still find humor in these hard times.

His post reminds be of “The Jungle” about the meat-packing industry of 1900,
when immigrants were paid squat, housed by ‘the company’ in squalor, had no hope
of anything getting better, and were too tired to really care. They worked hard,
died young, and passed on nothing to their kids. Then the union movement
happened, and the middle class was born. Now the GOP is waging war on women, the
middles, and anyone else standing in the way of their next million. When did
greed become so very important to so many people on the right? For a party they
want to call ‘conservative and Christian,’ they sure act more like entitled rich
kids who never set foot in a church nor cracked open the New Testament. Jesus
had words for these kind of folks, and it wasn’t “see you in
Heaven.”

Your so ignorant its funny. And what’s even funnier is that in several years
once there agenda that your pushing so heavy for them gets bigger than you, you
will be viewing liberal ways much differant. You tea baggers are selfish and
only think of personal gain rather than the success as a whole. America will
fail and it will be you guys that does it. Big business don’t give a @!$%# about

Cassandra, please! Don’t call people ignorant if you can’t tell the
difference between your and you’re, and there and their; how to spell different
(and, when used as an adverb, the correct word is “differently”); and basic
grammar (“it will be you guys that does it.”). I agree with your basic point,
but you need to express it in a way that does not label you as
ignorant.

By saying that it is wrong to care only for self-success, you are implying
that one should not hesitate to sacrifice him/herself for the greater good.
There is no success more important than that of the individual, for when we
become a nation of sacrificial lambs, we become nothing more than
cannibals.

Of course, they haven’t created any jobs, because their objective was to gain
enough power so they could fight the cultural wars of the 20th century. Cutting
funding for critical programs like education, infrastucture, family planning,
and health care are all facets of their plan. I don’t know why anyone thought
voting Republican out of pique to stick it to the president would benefit him or
her. Some people actually tried to make the same point by staying home, and in
both cases, folks are suffering acutely from buyers’ remorse.
