Well it is working in WI, less government, put the unions on watch.
Give economic freedom back to the people.
And the unemployment rate is going in WI.
Sure as hell can't have that happen with the rest of the country now can we ed??
Exactly. After seeing what the Democrats have sold the American people over the past four years; this November, they are voting to "Return to Sender"! and "Give me my money back!" Fraudulent!
Of Course They are -- They will Never Stop Spewing Their Crap --- As I have stated Many Times - These teabaggin-gop-neo-con politicians- as They speak and spew their crap - You Had Better Believe The Exact Opposite of What DROOLS From their Pieholes !!!!! No matter which Piehole that they spew from !!!!
It's not anything Walker has done but the good policies that President Obama has implemented even with such an obstructionist republican senate and congress over the past 3 1/2 years...
Give me a break stupidita....Sorry your lies aren't excepted now nor will they ever be.
Ifor1 Obama has inceased the debt in four years what Bush did in 8 years. Obama does not have a clue on the right approach for this nation.
True or False: Under Obama the unemployment remained above 8% for 40 months while increasing the national debt by $5 Trillion; creating more poor. Provide a source if you think this is not true. :-)
max you know that is a lie as well. The one who has no clue is you max all you do is spew your right wing talking points. Just because you keep repeating a lie does not make your lie a fact it was a lie when you posted it the first time and it remains a lie in this post. Sorry but the GOP has only produced economic failures for over 34 years.
As for the new guy's posts all we see is results of GOP obstruction that created the economic problems that Obama faces. Just because you want to lay everything on Obama's back just shows you haven't a clue on how government works.
Ok, please tell me how the government worked during Obama's first two years when they passed Obamacare while controlling the House and Senate. Please educate me. You sound very smart.
Address the fact Whom not your delusions. More debt. Obama said if the empolyment rate was not below 8 percent he doesn't deserve a second term. Why is he running? Just another lie from the left
Obama also said he would cut the deficit in 1/2 during his first term, which couldn't be farther from the truth with a record increase of $5 Trillion in only 4 years vs. GWB 8 years. This isn't algebra. :-)
Lets see who is delusional the liberal posting on a left leaning blog or a right wing troll posting right wing talking points and Fox news fake outrages. Yeah here is a clue you are delusional if you think left leaning bloggers want to hear your garbage, we been hearing it for 34 years and for 34 years it has failed.
So you can't answer the question? You said you know how government works and claim that I don't; so please educate me. I'm beginning to think you're not as smart as you think. right wing.left wing... who cares. Lets talk about the truth. Now tell me where I'm wrong. Are you intelligent or just......? :-)
That once again is a total lie Maxster. Come on admit for once you are blowing smoke straight from Fox News....It's ok we'll forgive you...
A lie from Maxter, huh? Okay, here is CBS (not FOX or MSNBC) - read it and weep Liberals. Time to educate you on the truth:
cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-57400369-503544/national-debt-has-increased-more-under-obama-than-under-bush/
Vatican- You will find that you are very wrong in one of your assumptions. Whom actually challenges a box of rocks with her smarts.
vatican,
w. bush cooked the books on the 2 wars and medicare part D. they were not added to the deficit.
when President Obama took office, he said, "we will no longer lie about the cost of these wars to the american people".
w. lied by cooking the books, and not reporting the cost the of the wars and medicare part D to the american people.
well i can tell your a mitt fan vatican i pitty u it's pretty sad that mit takes a company instead of helping it he fires all the employees takes their pensions and says have a nice life from mitt he' mitt is a crook dodge a war hides his money in off shore accounts will not release his tax records why won't he release his tax records he sure raised cane on the birther issue. Oh wait i forgot MITT THE MUTT ROMNEY can do no wrong you want him to come along extend the bush tax cuts and force people off the medicare medicade social security cut funding to public saftey, and to education, oh wait i forgot it's better to have charter schools and larger class room sizes and bust up unions wow what a guy you have if he gets in if he does he bought a 4 yr term in office.
You all seem light a bright crowd. Please tell us what Bain Capital does using the facts (hey, toss in source or two), and then we can discuss how Bain invested in high risk ventures - some succeeded and created many jobs as they continue to endure, while others had to go through a reorganization, which led to some cuts in jobs. Do you know what venture capital is? For those of you that said GWB "cooked the books"; please provide a government source that backs up your claims. Should be easy, right? We can talk about Bill Clinton "cooking the books" as he tapped into numerous federal trust funds, e.g., social security to play a numbers game with his budgets. Obama is playing the same game.
Whom, ever notice how these clowns like to talk about what they think Obama has spent, but never ever mention anything about why $$$ had to be spent. It couldn't have anything to do with 2 unfunded conlicts, off the books, or Part D medicare on the credit card, or keeping GWB's crashed economy from going in the gutter. I don't think President Obama would spend money on thing like that, do you? <s>
I noticed the Liberals can't explain why Obama had to increase the debt by $5 Trillion in only 3.5 years, but it took GWB 8 years to increase the debt by nearly the same amount. 3.5 vs. 8.0, and what did we get for it but more unemployment, a weaker economy and a long recession recovery?
The last two years of GWB Presidency the economy did turn bad, no question about it. The majority Leader in the House was Nancy Pelosi. The Majority Leader in the Senate was Harry Reed. The Democrats controlled 2/3 of our Government. You claimed it was GWB fault. Lets say: I agree with your logic. In 2009 and 2010 we had the same Majority Leaders, Pelosi and Reed. We had A Democratic President, Obama. The Democrats controlled 100% of the Government. If I apply your logic to that equation then it was Obama's fault. Now we have a Republican Congress and a Democratic Senate and President. the Democratic Party controls 2/3 of our Government. Again, if I apply your logic it is Obama fault. By the way prior to the bad two years of 2007 and 2008, the unemployment rate was 4.3% and the stock market was 14000. Check it out if you do not believe.
It's ironic how the Liberals here gave Bill Clinton credit for a surplus, but no credit to the GOP that controlled the Congress, but are quick to blame George Bush for the economy, when the Democrats controlled the Congress. The Congress controls the 'purse strings' and passing Legislation. Which party controlled Congress during a surplus: the GOP. Which party controlled Congress during a weakened economy: Democrats. Do you see a pattern here? I do. Place the GOP in charge. :-)
Vatican, only because you don't want to look at the actual facts.
Robert. I'll ask you, no other repub has answered me. Name the 60 Democratic Senaters you say we had to "control" the Senate. Don't forget, to get a bill to the floor,it takes 60 vote for procedural passage, breaking filibusters, etc. Just to get it to the vote. Name those Senaters.
Larry, tell us then how Obama was able to pass Obamacare in Congress over a GOP filibuster when the Democrats were in the majority in both the House and Senate. Why no focus on jobs jobs jobs? How about sharing your 'facts' with me if you have an issue with my post above. Fact is you can't. :-)
If you don't already know explaining it will not help. I really wish you righties would learn how the Senate works before asking stupid questions. I tried looking it up and can't find anybill called "Obamacare".
He got republicans to vote for it which they were rewarded with by getting tossed out of the GOP in 2010.
wow were called liberals now when you guys vatican and robert are the right wing fascist on here expected our current leader to fix the problem with the economy and unemployment if you right wing facist forget what he said here is a refresher he goes there is no easy fix , but then robert if we have 2/3 today then howcome the jobs and infrastructure bill didn't pass oh yea thats right you frigging republicans refused to help him, also where are you republicans now on a week vacation again how is taking a vacation solving issues on getting workers back to work and fixing the economy ? and why are you right wing facist crying foul for when we want to cut off the bush tax cuts to the rich and extemely rich ? and you right wing liberals moan and complain about it ,your group cares for is taking from the poor and keep givng to the rich and the tax cuts need to stop. tax cuts for companies who move their jobs over seas or to mexico, stop giving tax cuts to Big Oil , and start helping the private sector oh wait that's right you right wing liberals help fund private sector my god if you guys did that then a vaction to the hamptons rodeo drive greece italy or even to the bahamas are flushed down the toilet, and quit living in houses that you can't afford and the poor has to foot your forclosure on a house that you can't afford no more come on help out for once and quit making it about the republicans and how we are so much better .
Larry: You can not filibuster a Budget. The Democratic party in the senate has not passed a budget in three years, The health care bill was passed as a reconciliation bill, no 60 required, only one Republican voted for it in Congress. All I hear from Liberals are excuses and blame game rather than action. Get some "Cojones" and do something. Lead, Follow or get out of the way. You had two years to lead and you did nothing but blame somebody else. The Republican are no saints. They spent too much and did few thing to improve the economy. The Democratic Party has spent 4 years blaming the republicans and wasted their time. Do not be bias, learn to deal with reality.
Robert, Larry is fixing to explain why no republicans voted for Obama's budget.
When it looked like the dems were going to win WI, their biggest cheerleader Ed "The Fib" Schultz was telling us that this was the most important election in the history of our Democracy. He also stated the if Walker won, you could say goodbye to the middle class, unions, working people, religion, Gay marriage, birth control pills, abortion and the Republic. Now that the Republicans won and are making a big deal of it, Ed takes the ostrich approach and hides behind the DNC talking points. He then proceeds to do his Vanna White role and plays "Spin the Wheel"
They are all taking their marching orders from the DNC and Democratic Caucus.
Here is Senator Schumer's comments in his own words. Perhaps Ed was there.
www.mrctv.org/node/76466
Robert, name those 60 Democratic Senaters.
Sorry but democrats don't get marching orders because we don't march together. Only the GOP expects their members to swear loyalty oaths.
that's right, whom.
repubs are in lockstep.
So you're saying Democrats don't sign loyalty or any other type of Oath or Pledge in Congress, huh? Lets see..:-)
A liberal pressure group, the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, claims to have collected 200,000 promises from Democratic loyalists vowing not to campaign for President Obama's re-election if he signs on to a budget deal that includes cuts in entitlements.
Nancy Pelosi, the House Democratic leader, insists that any changes to Medicare and Social Security are "absolutely" out of bounds and adds, "It is a flag that we've planted that we will protect and defend." But planting flags is like signing pledges. Both actions take reason and good sense off the negotiating table.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi were proud to be among the first to sign the "Live Earth Pledge," created by former Vice President Al Gore. The pledge is in conjunction with the global "Live Earth" event to be held on every continent on July 7 (7-7-07).
"I am proud to sign this pledge to do my part to solve the climate crisis," said Reid. "By working together on all levels, at home, school, work, and church, we can all play a role in protecting our planet for future generations. I encourage everyone to sign this pledge and get involved in this important movement to help raise awareness about the things we can and must do to avert global warming."
"By signing this pledge, I rededicate myself to the prevention of dangerous global warming," Pelosi said. "The climate crisis is as local as our neighborhoods and as global as the planet. We must act swiftly to protect God's creation from dramatic changes that threaten our national security and health, our crops and coastlines, and the very survival of many species on earth. Reducing global warming is also an opportunity to stimulate new and innovative technologies, create new 'green' jobs, and reduce pollutants that are harmful to human health."
Nancy Pelosi, House Democratic Leader Sign "No Cuts" Pledge. Another example for you.
hey hey hey, the teapubs needed a lift. or what I'd call the old republican party. you know the one before the Bush crash?
anyway, if it was me and I saw a loop hole being a repub I'd grab it tooooooooo.....they is good at grabbin loop holes ya know?
as far as Obama care and Romney care goes.....well we know where Obama got the idea first. actually that scares me and I ain't votin for the Romney.
how ya doin MD/MI? I see there ain't no slack of trolls here still. love the way ED sakes em up or they wouldn't be here, ya know what I mean?
ya know I've never been on a Foxy blog or site of any kind. ya know why? here I'll tell ya trolls and see if you get it. cause..........they ain't got nothin I want to read or here. hey what's that say about you trolls? ya here cause your confused and still fightin for that I'm gonna be somebody some day stuff? maybe ya are some closet liberals aftere all and here, you get to read what liberals say without anyone knowin huh?
it amazes me how the trolls hated Romney when the Bach Palin Perry and the 999er was the vogue at the time. but, hey, what are principles huh trolls? or should I call you teapubs?
name the 60 Democratic Senaters (sp?)- not following is that like name that tune- no one in these posts I do not believe has indicated that the Democrats had 60 senators in the first two years of President Obama- as I recall until the death of Senator Kennedy- it was 57 democratic senators and 2 independents that caucus with the Democrats- the post said the Democrats control all three branches and that is correct- if you are suggest control means 60- then I guess by controlling the definitions you can determine the outcome of the discussion- but in any even so what? If the point is that the debate rules in the senate (with some exceptions) require 60 votes- that is true. But if that is the core of the problem, then the democrats could have changed the cloture rules.
You can't consider Liebermann, he even campaigned withBush. He voted with the GOP 98%. He never voted to break a GOP filibuster. And don't forget the 4 repubs that got elected by registering as Dem. Ya know, the "blue dogs" that voted GOP 69%. Nobody said we had 60, the keep saying we had control. That's just not true. It takes 60.
the bluedogs are really repubs, or RINO's.
we have tried but each time we the democrats try to pass a bill mr speaker of the Bahener or however you spell his last name has power over the republicans and the republicans are scared of him that's why things are not getting done unless he' is involved in it if doesn't concern him or if he didn't draft a bill then why approve it and yes he holds the republicans on strings.
brs,
are you saying that boehner has power over the repubs and that they are afraid of him? with all due respect, i don't think thats how its working.
boehner is the puppet of the tea party and of eric cantor and mitch mcConnell. no way are THEY afraid of HIM-HE is afraid of THEM.
he's the puppet-he's the one on strings, and they have him dancing as fast as he can.
excuse me, boehner is a pussy.
There goes Larry again making up Liberal "facts" as he goes with no sources to back up his bogus claims about Joseph Lieberman (I) as he often votes and caucuses with the Democrats. Daily KOS, huh?

From April 2010 to October, the republicans only had 40 members or seats voting as a block. They had gained 7 additional seats through jan 2011. Do you folks think they can win a majority in this election?
The despicable election in Wisconsin shows full well the awful threat to our democracy posed by the "Citizens United" ruling. The GOP won in Wisconsin because of an $8 to $1 dollar spending advantage. Walker solicited much corporate money from the oligarchs who run the Republican party. Major contributors are the usual cast of characters: the Koch brothers, Karl Rove, the NRA, and other prominent millionaire and billionaire donors like Sheldon Adelson (Rueters, "Wisconsin Raises Warning flags for Obama", 2012). One political advertisement sponsored by the NRA flat out lied about Barret wanting to take away firearms from Wisconsin hunters. The corporate sponsors who run the Republican party fund Super-PACS that can easily out raise anything that the Democrats can raise in terms of cash. The GOP bought this election plain and simple.
The Wisconsin election shows that our democracy is being undermined by an unlimited amount of corporate special interest money. Corporations have an ability to give almost unlimited amounts of money to a candidate of their choosing. The sad truth is that if any candidate can out raise his or her opponent by a margin of eight to one they will generally win the election. Governor Walker will strive to give his campaign donors anything more they want including more radical conservative ideological driven bills such as more anti-union, anti-abortion, anti-women's health, and anti-middle class initiatives. Walker gave over $2.3 billion in tax cuts to corporations and the rich over a ten year period (Politifact-Wisconsin, June 24, 2011). The burden of running the government is being shifted towards the middle class and working poor. The middle class has been eviscerated by Governor Walker's radical policies. The oligarchs that run the Republican party got a good return on their investment by investing $50 million in the recall election they got $2.3 billion in tax cuts and will stick the bill to the working poor and middle class of Wisconsin.
Our democracy is being undermined by the influence of the "Citizens United" decision. Democrats need to pledge all out war on corporate donations and Super-PACs with anonymous donors. We need to have public financing for elections only. The British have public financing for their elections and it is a vastly superior system to ours. Nancy Pelosi wants to amend the Constitution to outlaw the "Citizen's United" ruling and have public financing for our elections. At best this process will take years. What will happen to our country in the meantime? This Court decision will rank with the Dred Scott decision for being one of the most corrosive and anti-democratic decisions this country has ever faced. Corporations have been on a mission to destroy labor unions since Ronald Reagan's time. Now corporate oligarchs are on a mission to destroy jobs that pay middle class wages and subvert our democracy. If you celebrate the results of what happened in Wisconsin, you are an idiot or a conservative or both.
Rex..Thank You for a great piece of information. I hope everyone will read what you have posted.
And I can only wish that the ignorant electoral voters among us could comprehend and understand not only the words that you have written, but the many dangerous implications that this Walker decision and the super-pac's money has upon our economy.
thank god Dem's won control of the senate in wisconsin.
no wonder walker thinks NOW that they should all work together.
Democrats hate it when they get beat (slaughtered a better word) by Republicans using democratic liberal tactics. If money is your excuse where was the Unions, the DNC,George Soros, the occupy movement? Liberals seem to forget that Walker won the first election too! This may be why the support (money) fell short. Yall picked this recall fight, a fight you could not win.
Check out a story from Rex Nutling at Marketwatch entitled "Obama spending binge that never happened" from May 22, 2012. One of the greatest lies the GOP is saying about the Obama administration is that spending has increased dramatically. The facts are that spending from fiscal year 2010 to 2013 only increased at a rate of 1.4%. This is the lowest rate of spending increase in real dollars, since Eisenhower's time back in the 1950's.
The GOP forgets that President Obama inherited two wars in Iraq and Afghanistan plus the Bush tax cuts of 2001 and 2003 have been the major drivers of our nearly $1.4 trillion budget deficits. You can not turn off wars like a water spigot. The bills for Iraq and Afghanistan will be $4 trillion long term. Checkout Professor Linda Bilmes and Joe Stiglitz's book the "Three Trillion Dollar war" for a breakdown of these costs. Joe Stiglitz is a Nobel prize winning economist and Linda Bilmes is a professor and a former budget expert for the Clinton administration.
The Center for Budget Policy Priorities has an article entitled, "Critics Still Wrong about What is driving deficits in coming years" by Kathy Ruffing and James Horney, from June, 2010. This article squarely lays the blame for trillion dollar budget deficits on the two wars in Iraq and Afghanistan plus the 2001 and 2003 Bush tax cuts. President Obama inherited these Bush era polices and wars that have doubled much the national debt. Republicans who support the Bush tax cuts are saying that trillion dollar deficits are just fine for America. GOP hypocrisy knows no end.
I tried to list websites for reference but the blog would not accept them. Do a google search with key words and authors and you will rapidly locate the articles listed above.
It doesn't change the fact that GWB took 8 years to increase the national debt by $5 Trillion, while Obama took only 3.5 years to do the same $5T. So tell us what he accomplished with that record spending since all the economic indicators are worse under his administration. Liberal logic. Oh :-)
well when you have wall street helping walker and money coming in from all outside of WI it shows you that any election can be bought i'm a die hard Democrat and i knew we had an uphill battle to unseat walker, but i would like to see the proof that walker reduced the unemployment made the stes deficit dis appear and created jobs up there i want to see the proof oh wait that right there is no proof of it it's all lies just like the 2% who are crying that busch tax cuts will be ending in jan well to bad get over it start paying your fair share into taxes and quit writing 98% of your stuff as tax write offs
i would like to know how many on here think cutting public saftey putting up charter schools with bigger class sizes and cutting programs that help people get by from day to day are benifical to our deficit ? it 's not if they both sides of the aisles would of came to a compromise on the jobs bill and and infrastrucure bill maybe out economy would of turned around instead of blaming 1side.
Hey Ed, why didn't you remind BO what he promised the unions he would do if collective bargaining was challenged? He said he would put on his walking shoes and walk along side them...failed promise!! Instead he kept his own shoes on and distanced himself from those people who believed him and voted him into office. No wonder so many people are leaving the unions and swinging right.
I think he was walking as he tweeted his support for Tom Barrett. I think that counts according to Liberal logic. :-)
Vatican: You continue to be a conservative moron with the intellect of stump. The rate of increase of spending under the Obama Administration is the lowest since the 1950's at about 1.4%. The reason we had such large deficits were because of the two Bush wars and the two Bush tax cuts from 2001 and 2003. Both of the wars and the Bush tax cuts lasted way into Obama's term. Only now will we slowly begin to see the deficits turn around as the Bush tax cuts expire and we wind down these two wars.
The selfishness of the GOP to expect tax cuts during two military conflicts shows the shameless selfishness and vile unpatriotic attitudes of all right winged conservatives. In all previous wars we all sacrificed to support the war effort. GOP attitudes today are reflected in the "I have mine and the hell with the country" attitude. GOP selfishness and unpatriotic behavior means that the GOP should be totally ashamed of its stupid and ignorant actions. I think conservatives are some of the most despicable, ignorant, and unpatriotic Americans. As a veteran of six conflicts I found the GOP of today a repulsive bunch of maggots worthy nothing more total contempt. Did you GOP hemorrhoids have a nice time enjoying your tax cuts while America's soldiers suffered 50,000 casualties from roadside bombs? I am glad Mitt Romney had a nice war collecting his interest from his offshore tax shelters by while screwing middle class workers out of their pensions, jobs, and benefits as a Bain vulture capitalist.
Again, the two wars under Bush pushed the national debt over $4 trillion long term The deficit was also made worse by the Medicare Part D give away to big Pharma that was paid for by increasing the national debt. The repeal of the 1932 Glass-Steagall act that kept corporate banks separated from Wall Street investment banks was repealed by the GOP sponsored Graham-Leach-Bliley Act of 1999. The repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act was a huge mistake because the 2008 Great Recession was caused by this very act and idea of GOP deregulation of the big Wall Street banks. Canada kept its banking system regulated and there was no Canadian taxpayer bailout in 2008. The problem is that Canadians are much better educated than most American conservatives who have the IQ's of a turnip.
Go read the Financial Crisis Inquiry Report that stated that the 2008 crisis was caused by human causes from errors, misjudgements, and extreme greed of the corporate banks on Wall Street that got in way over their heads and had to be bailed out by nearly $9 trillion in Federal Reserve actions. This is what GOP supply side economics does it tears our country down and wrecks the middle class who get stuck with their bills and bailout mess when money schemes by Wall Street swindlers go bust. Check out the "Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission Report" at the Stanford law education website. Screwed up Republican policies are the cause of our trillion dollar budget deficits and the Romney-Ryan budget will only make the deficit and debt worse while gutting our social safety net. Republicans are radical right winged morons that need to be exiled to Siberia. The GOP ought to be ashamed of itself for what it has done to America. If this was not a family blog I would use much stronger language to denounce your right winged filth and hypocrisy. You GOP hypocrites are totally pathetic and miserable excuses for Americans.
Rex, move to Canada and get a life! You will probably live longer.
Jeff P: The GOP did much to cause the deficit and debt our country is facing right now. Your non-rebuttal appears to confirm my suspicion that people like you are ignorant and stupid when it comes to substantive discussions about issues facing our country. I want America to be a strong country with green energy, state of the art infrastructure, bullet trains, and excellent educational and training opportunities for all Americans. This is an optimistic and positive vision for America plus one we can easily afford once the resources are made available. The jobs and economic activity generated from these investments will build the country up. What is your vision for America other than to make the rich richer while allowing large corporations to feed of off the middle class and working poor? The GOP is about tax cuts for the rich while emasculating government services like education and other basic essential services. I get pretty sick and tired of GOP morons who come to the blog and criticize President Obama yet offer no solutions at all except tax cuts for the rich. Well we have been doing supply side economics for ten years and all it has done is create huge wealth inequality and destruction of the middle class. Where are all those middle class jobs after all those upper class tax cuts were signed into law by President Bush? This is a fare question because supply side economics believers always tell us that the "job creators" need more tax cuts. The GOP are worthless unpatriotic Americans who about as intellectually deficient as the flat earth people of Columbus's day. Ignorance is bliss for Republicans don't you think? Maybe you should get a life by reading something from the library you stupid moron.
