No. The people would realize that they shouldn't have voted for Mr Walker. The union and collective bargaining is a democratic process and America is democratic country. It will be soon things will start to change.
It will bring all of America down, but it will be great for the 1%.
While I was disappointed by what happened last night, I have to say I wasn't surprised. In this electoral climate Money Talks- and last night Scott Walker had more money, not to mention more time to flood the airwaves with misleading and outright false ads. I hope the people of Wisconsin do not regret the decision they made yesterday, but I think they will- big time.
I really hope you are correct Sen. The Koch brothers see it as a win for themselves though. I also think the people of Wisconsin will come to regret voting for Walker. Schools will be slashed even more, pubic services will drop off dramatically and Walker will do everything he can to use private businesess to do what the public employees are now doing, such as snow plows. Unemployment will go up even more in Wisconsin. Walker would like to have all state employees as minimum wage earners with no benefits at all and fired for any reason.
Four of the Supreme Cour Justices should be removed for complete imcompetence, Roberts, Scalia, Scalito and Thomas. The are the direct cause of this.
This question is like double edge Sward. If you say yes, because you think it would make life worse for the middle class, and if you say NO, it would be like it will not affect any little bit to middle class from current horrible situation they are in. Today, Limbo man and his son that hateful Hannity were gloating in a conservative sprit! Two miserable souls were so glad that Walker won, and the unions lost. Moreover they said that if Obama had gone to WIsconsin they would have been happier with this result.
It all depends what did he do for WI. To say there is a surplus well there maybe. When you stop paying retirement benefits to ppl who have worked and put the time then that is a savings. Now, where are those savings going? Are they going to reduce the property taxes of those who have been affected the most. Like the lower middle class and the working poor. If not then it all depend upon the goodness of those whom he will benefit. Is it those who do not need the break? Money can make a person agree with all kinds of evil, look at what happened in Germany in WW2.
“When morality comes up against profit, it is seldom that profit loses.” Shirley Chisholm
“The few who understand the system will either be so interested in its profits or be so dependent upon its favours that there will be no opposition from that class, while on the other hand, the great body of people, mentally incapable of comprehending the tremendous advantage that capital derives from the system, will bear its burdens without complaint, and perhaps without even suspecting that the system is inimical to their interests.” The Rothschild brothers of London writing to associates in New York, 1863
The thing that needs to happen now is to put Wisconsin under a microscope.
Walkers strategy is to turn Wisconsin workers into low-wage slaves in order to boost employment instead of increasing economic productivity. People that voted for him don't fully appreciate what that means in terms of quality of life. Places that have used this strategy include Mississippi, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. It does work, but I wouldn't want to bring up a family in any of those areas.
Every Republican that has been elected to executive office has clobbered the economy at the state and federal level by pursing that strategy for the past 100 years.
Walker is no different.
The only exception to this pattern is Reagan because his policies did not crucify education and immigration (very liberal in those two areas). Other republican have not yet figured out why Reagan succeeded.
There is about a 3 to 6 year delay, but the effect is very obvious. Republican clobber the economy every time they gain control.
Citizens United: Lie and buy.....Tom B. will take your guns.....lie and buy. Who makes guns.....Oh the Koch of course.
http://markmaynard.com/2012/06/koch-brothers-with-citizens-united-behind-them-announce-intention-to-buy-election/
The fact that that some union workers voted for Gov. Walker may be because they really were lied to, are brainwashed of do not understand that unions of public workers is the "first item in the agenda" according to what he spoke during the phone conversation with the fake Koch. What is the second and third? It could be to make a law against unions all together. Unions are the only ones who will fight for living wages and benefits of all employees. So the rights of corporations will be more of a priority than the rights of individuals.
They should watch the movie "Norma Rae". Or at least read the history of why were unions being protected under federal laws.
I think it's a more complicated issue than just a yes or no. On one hand, yes... this will effect middle class workers because Walker will continue on with his agenda to destroy what is left of unions. When he's completely destroyed public unions, then he'll go after the private unions that exist. He has already succeeded in one year at reducing the monetary power to fund Democratic candidates in a big way.
That in addition to the right that has been given to corporations to spend all they want to influence elections will be a huge hurdle to overcome... for the Democratic party, the Democratic process in the country... in reinstating unions and workers rights to collectively bargain and raise their standard of living. Those gullible Wisconsin voters who voted for Walker are going to regret what they've done in making this battle even harder to win now.
But let's face it... with Citizens' United... the average citizen is already out spent by the corporate interests and with the weakening of the unions in the country... it will be hard to overcome and get back anywhere near equal ground anytime soon. If the people who voted for walker haven't been woken up by the extreme agenda that Walker and all of the GOP have been using all over the country... what will get through their thick skulls? They obviously don't understand the significance of the unions in funding the Democratic candidates who will are the only ones fighting for the average citizen. They need to have this explained to them over and over the way Rachel explains it, until they get it.
Unfortunately there are too many middle class Americans who do not understand that the rich do NOT care about their standard of living --just their (the rich) own!!!!! Welcome to the Middle Ages of the the Lords and the serfs -- no middle class! Maybe the rich will learn that their wealth comes from the middle class!!!!!
God help us all!
NYS (where I came from) has fairly high taxes but also has great services from those taxes!
Quite a few wealthy people view the middle class as an economic burden that reduces their income.
That is the reason that the wealthy put so much money into Wisconsin.
Wealthy people don't want to pay for public education, and the ones that are white supremacists want to put people on a voucher system so they can pursue segregation.
The problem with that strategy is that the middle class is primarily composed of mixed race people with a valuable trade or college degree, and that is the source of the value that allowed the wealthy to accumulate capitol.
When you clobber education, you subtract value from human capitol by producing less educated youth. That is especially true when you add segregation to the mix.
Less educated youth can't add economic value because they can't get a job. Minority youth are most at risk.
That is the republican legacy that Walker is pursuing.
Wisconsin won't fully appreciate that until a few years have gone by. But then it will be too late to go back and fix it.
$895,000 in Soros Money Funds Wisconsin Organizations
In the last two years, George Soros' Open Society Institute has provided $895,000 in grants to organizations in Wisconsin for various purposes. Soros, an unapologetic Nazi sympathizer, is committed to using his vast funds to create an "open society" based on various social engineering experiments. Soros made his fortunes through hedge funds and currency speculation that has ruined lives and threatened the economies of more than one country.
In the state of Wisconsin, the Open Society Institute has granted $895,000 to 14 organizations.

This election has highlighted large weaknesses in our democratic voting system. Federal voting laws must be passed making voting rules the same in ALL the states. Also laws must be passed making it illegal to air political ads filled with lies and distortions. As far as fake robo calls telling voters that they don’t need to vote for whatever reason; anyone caught sponsoring this behavior should be put on public trail and if found guilty be given a mandatory 20 year prison sentence. The Republican Parties abuse of our voting rights and constant lies about just about everything MUST be stopped or in a few more election cycles we won’t have a democracy anymore.
I hope Tom Barrett will beat Walker! Hey where are the election results????
OMG it wasn't a dream!!!!! Its a NIGHTMARE!
STAY AWAY FROM THE WATER IN WISCONSIN!!!
Boycott WISCONSIN!
Boycotting Wisconsin would like hurt the workers of that state and their families, to include union workers. How does that make sense?
This may help you Vatican. From the dictionary for the intellectual humor impaired :

Sarcasm :
Your body's natural defense against stupid.
The bastard stepchild of irony.
A verbal reflex against stupidity. In my opinion one of the best types of humor.
A word that gives you the possibility to play with your imagination when asked stupid questions.
A tongue of which the user speaks of something the complete opposite of what the user means. It often has the best comedic value.

@xxx ooo
Apparently the water in Wisconsin causes stupidity among most of the population.
Hey Wisconsin... you just let the Koch brothers buy your state! What are you.... IDIOTS?!
Disclaimer: The above is only a reference to the Union members who actually voted for Turdblossom WALKER and thus against their own best interests.
Let me put it this way: it will affect the middle class, in Wisconsin, and anywhere else we let the republicans get away with their, "turning America into a subsidiary of China," strategy. Some states won't have to worry about it as much.
Vatican you troll I'm sure you want to everything you can to support the vile Koch Bros.
Liberals
I don't want to hurt the people in Wisconsin they have done that to themselves! I want to make sure that the rest of of the states don't make the same mistake.Boycott the Koch Industries all the time check your labels! Better yet buy a bunch and return it! And when they ask you WHY? Tell them! (OF COURSE MAKE SURE YOU CAN RETURN STUFF NO QUESTIONS ASKED) But they always do!

Pollution and resource fines
In May 2001, Koch Industries paid $25 million to the federal government to settle a federal lawsuit that found the company had improperly taken more oil than it had paid for from federal and Indian land.[47]
In 2007, Koch Nitrogen's plant in Enid, Oklahoma, was listed as the third highest company releasing toxic chemicals in Oklahoma, according to the EPA, ranking behind Perma-Fix Environmental Services in Tulsa and Weyerhaeuser Co. in Valliant.[48] The facility produces about 10% of the US national production of anhydrous ammonia, as well as urea and UAN.[49]
In 2010, Koch Industries was ranked 10th on the list of top US corporate air polluters, the "Toxic 100 Air Polluters", by the Political Economic Research Institute at the University of Massachusetts Amherst Amherst.[50]
Koch Industries
The company was renamed Koch Industries in honor of Fred Koch, the year after his death. At that time, it was primarily an engineering firm with part interest in a Minnesota refinery, a crude oil-gathering system in Oklahoma,[12] and some cattle ranches.[16] In 1968, Charles approached Union Oil of California about buying their interest in Great Northern Oil Company and its Pine Bend Refinery but the discussions quickly stalled after Union asked for a large premium.[11] In 1969, Union Oil began trying to market their interest in Great Northern by telling potential buyers that Koch's controlling interest could be thwarted by currying favor with another owner, J. Howard Marshall II. When Marshall discovered this he threw his lot in with Koch, they together acquired a majority interest in the company and ultimately bought Union's interest.[14] Ownership of Pine Bend refinery led to several new businesses and capabilities, including chemicals, fibers, polymers, asphalt and other commodities such as petroleum coke and sulfur. These were followed by global commodity trading, gas liquids processing, real estate, pulp and paper, risk management and finance.[11]
In 1970, Charles was joined at the family firm by his brother David H. Koch. Having started as a technical services manager, David became president of Koch Engineering in 1979.
Subsidiaries
Among Koch Industries' subsidiaries across various industries[17] are:
Georgia-Pacific
Georgia-Pacific is a paper and pulp company that produces "Brawny" paper towels, "Angel Soft" toilet paper, "Mardi Gras" napkins and towels, "Quilted Northern" toilet paper and paper towels, "Dixie" paper plates, bowls, napkins and cups, "Sparkle" paper towels, and "Vanity Fair" paper napkins, bowls, plates and tablecloths. The Atlanta-based company has operations in 27 states.[18]
INVISTA
INVISTA is a polymer and fibers company that makes "Stainmaster" carpet, and "Lycra" fiber, among other products.
Koch Pipeline Company LP
Koch Pipeline Company LP, which owns and operates 4,000 miles (6,400 km) of pipeline used to transport oil, natural gas liquids and chemicals. Its pipelines are located across Wisconsin, Minnesota, Texas, Missouri, Iowa, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Alberta, Canada. The firm operates offices in Wichita, Kansas, St. Paul, Minnesota and Corpus Christi, Texas.
In 1946 Wood River Oil Co. (a precursor company to Koch Industries) purchased Rock Island Oil and Refining Co. As a part of the transaction, it acquired a crude-oil pipeline in Oklahoma. As a result of construction and investments, Wood River acquired other pipelines in the U.S. and Canada. "In the ensuing years," according to Koch Pipeline's website, "the company bought, sold and built pipeline systems transporting crude oil and refined products, as well as natural gas, natural gas liquids and anhydrous ammonia (for fertilizer)."[19] Koch Pipeline and its affiliates currently maintain a 4,000-mile network of pipelines.
In January 2000, Koch Pipeline agreed to a $35 million settlement with the U.S. Justice Department and the State of Texas. This settlement, including a $30 million civil fine, represented compensation for three hundred oil spills in Texas and five other states dating back to 1990.[20][21][22]
Koch's Sterling butane pipeline had a leak in Lively, Texas, on August 24, 1996. Two teenagers were killed when the gas exploded and burned. The National Transportation Safety Board concluded that severe external pipeline corrosion was the cause of the failure, and recommended to Koch to improve corrosion evaluation procedures.[23] Although Koch distributed pamphlets about safety around the pipelines, they failed to maintain an up-to-date mailing list. Only 5 out of 45 residences in the area of the accident had received pamphlets. The families of the dead had not.[24]
In 1999, a Texas jury found that negligence had led to the rupture of the Koch pipeline and awarded the victims' families $296 million — "the largest compensatory damages judgment in a wrongful death case against a corporation in U.S. history".[25]
In a statement released in 2010, Koch Industries offered this comment:
Flint Hill Resources LP
Flint Hill Resources LP, originally called Koch Petroleum Group, is a major refining and chemicals company based in Wichita, Kansas. It sells products such as gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, ethanol, polymers, intermediate chemicals, base oils and asphalt. It operates oil refineries in six states. Flint Hill has chemical plants in Illinois, Texas and Michigan. The firm is also a major manufacturer of asphalt used for paving and roofing applications. It operates 13 asphalt terminals located in six states including Alaska (2 terminals), Wisconsin (2), Iowa (3), Minnesota (4), Nebraska (1), and North Dakota(1).[27] The firm manages the purchasing of domestic crude oil from Texas and Colorado offices, has four ethanol plants across Iowa, operates three refineries in Alaska, Texas, and Minnesota, and has a refinery terminal in Alaska. The Minnesota refinery can process 320,000 barrels (51,000 m3) of crude a day, most of which comes from from Alberta, Canada, and handles one quarter of all Canadian oil sands crude entering the U.S.[28] It also operates fuel terminals in Wisconsin (4 locations), Texas (6), and one each in Iowa and Minnesota.[29]
In March 1999, Koch Petroleum Group acknowledged that it had negligently dumped hundreds of thousands of gallons of aviation fuel into wetlands from its refinery in Rosemount, Minnesota, and that it had illegally dumped a million gallons of high-ammonia wastewater onto the ground and into the Mississippi River. Koch Petroleum paid a $6 million fine and $2 million in remediation costs, and was ordered to serve three years of probation.[30]
In April 2001, the company reached a $20 million settlement in exchange for admitting to covering up environmental violations at its refinery in Corpus Christi, Texas.[31][32]
In June 2003, the US Commerce Department fined Flint Hill Resources a $200,000 civil penalty. The fine settled charges that the company exported crude petroleum from the US to Canada without proper US government authorization. The Commerce Department's Bureau of Industry and Security said from July 1997 to March 1999, Koch Petroleum (later called Flint Hill Resources) committed 40 violations of Export Administration Regulations.[33]
In 2005, Koch's Flint Hills Resources refinery was recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency's Clean Air Awards program for reducing air emissions by 50 percent while expanding operations.[34] The EPA has worked with Flint Hills Resources to develop "strategies for curtailing so-called 'upset' emissions, in what agency and company sources say could lead to guidance to minimize such emissions from petroleum refineries and other industrial facilities."[35] The EPA described the process as a "model for other companies."[36]
In 2006, Flint Hill Resources was fined nearly $16,000 by the EPA for 10 separate violations of the Clean Air Act at its Alaska oil refinery facilities, and required to spend another $60,000 on safety equipment needed to help prevent future violations.[37]
Koch Fertilizer, LLC
Koch Fertilizer, LLC, which is one of the world's largest makers of nitrogen fertilizers.[38] Koch Fertilizer owns or has interests in fertilizer plants the United States, Canada, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela, and Italy, among others.[39][40] Koch Fertilizer was formed in 1988 when the Koch companies purchased the Gulf Central Pipeline and ammonia terminals connected to the pipeline. The next year, the Koch Nitrogen Company was formed in order to market ammonia. The next few years saw purchases of various ammonia facilities in Louisiana, Canada, and elsewhere, and ammonia sales agreements with firms in Australia, the U.K., and other countries. The year 2010 saw the founding of Koch Methanol, LLC, and Koch Agronomic Services, LLC. In October 2010, a plant in Venezuela was nationalized by the government.[41] In 2011, the firm acquired the British fertilizer firm J&H Bunn Limited.
Koch Agricultural Company
Koch Agricultural Company's Matador Cattle Company division operates three ranches totaling 425,000 acres (1,720 km2) located in Beaverhead, Montana, Matador, Texas and the Flint Hills of eastern Kansas. There are more than 15,000 head of cattle raised on the ranches.[42]
The Matador Land and Cattle Company was founded in 1882 by Scottish investors, whose acquisition included 2.5 million acres in four Texas counties. In 1951, the company was sold to Lazard Freres and Company, which in turn sold some of the Texas land to Fred C. Koch. In 1952 Koch formed Matador Cattle Company, and later one of his companies purchased part of Matador Ranch, which was brought together with other Koch ranches in Montana and Kansas. Today, according to the ranch's website, it "is owned and operated by Matador Cattle Company, a division of Koch Agriculture Company, which is an indirect, wholly-owned subsidiary of Koch Industries."[43]
Koch's Matador Ranch in Texas earned the Lone Star Land Steward award for outstanding natural resource management in 2010.[44] The Montana ranch has earned several environmental stewardship awards, including the EPA Regional Administrator's award.[45]
Environmental and safety record
From 1999 to 2003, Koch Industries was assessed "more than $400 million in fines, penalties and judgments."[25] Another source points out that Koch has had only "eight instances of alleged misconduct ... over the span of 63 years" despite being a giant multinational, and that this compares favorably to the fines, penalties and judgments accrued by the similarly large General Electric corporation.[4
Xena 1.3 : You got all right. When all those would happen, then people will realize their mistakes and will change. That's why I voted No.
According to Essentials of Sociology-A Down to Earth Approach sixth edition college text book a quiz question asks.....True/False Most people on welfare are lazy and are looking for a handout. They could work if they wanted to. Answer on page 18 states...FALSE! Most people on welfare are children, the old, the sick, the mentally and physically handicapped or young mothers with few skills. Fewer than 2 percent meet the stereotype of an able-bodied man. See page 202. So remember this FACT when politicians are trying to cut these programs...You are taking from the children, and the old, and the sick and the mentally and physically handicapped and Young mothers who decided to HAVE that baby instead of choosing abortion. :(
The republicans also mistakenly think all of those are liberals. It never occurred to them that many who vote republican are in that same category. They seem to believe they are all in the 1%.
How can anyone be proud of 62% of Walker's donations coming from outside Wisconsin ?
How can anyone be proud of a Governor that had nearly half of his constituents wanting to vote him out of office?
How can anyone be proud of a Governor who has a criminal defense fund ?
How can anyone be proud of a Governor who is under investigation for crimes against his constituents ?
How can anyone be proud of a Governor who's Radical party put out robo calls telling Democrats that they need not vote ?
Oh. I know how. Radical Republicans are always proud of scummy behavior in their party. Be proud. Be very proud.
People on welfare..
It takes the parents to file for welfare in order to receive it.
Kids, people under the age 18 can not file for welfare, food stamps etc...
This ain't Greece
Congratulations Walker for prostituting the American Voting system yet again !
Hmm so cuts to welfare wouldn't affect kids because adults on welfare totally don't use the money to take care of their children.....are you sure you want to go with that argument?
So yeah welfare totally wouldn't affect children 'cuz that makes sense.
Desperate baloney semantics
How about the FACT , that MOST PEOPLE on WELFARE ARE WHYITE !! Just like MOST ABORTIONS are by WHYITE WOMANS !!
99% ITS NOT TOO LATE !! OCCUPY THE VOTE !! ALL ELECTIONS MATTER !! cafepressDOTcom/THE99percentSTRONG cafepressDOTcom/RHYPICRIT
Most people that are on welfare can't get a job because they have a criminal record.
Most people with a criminal record began by selling pot at $3,000/pound.
People sell pot because they are poor.
Nearly everyone that is poor is like that because they couldn't get a good education because the schools were under funded.
Republicans cut school so that they can "get tough on crime".
Complaining about welfare is like suing the company that made the bullets after you shoot yourself in the foot.
Stop voting republican.
Somewhere around 10 million people are on welfare including their dependents (about 25 million total). Somewhere around 10 million people have a criminal record for "nonviolent victimless crime" (i.e.: selling pot).
I'm sure it will have an effect on more than just one class...rich and poor...as the middle was just a dream we use to have.
It seems we have quiet a difference in what will happen, But in Wisconsin its going to be a Michigan in a short time.
Vote Republican and bring back sweatshop`s here in America!
vote republican and be the first family on the block to have you kid come home in a box.
Yes we need to bring those jobs back to this country to create jobs here for over worked, exploited and under paid American children. Corporations should exploit poor children in this country not China. lol
Crackhead most of the growth of welfare programs in the past few years is because of the regulatory mismanagement between '00 and '08. That's why they've expanded as of late. This is the result of Republican deregulation and vaccuum up economics policies and Democrat let them walk all over you policies.
On education I think we should stop looking at education in a national way, we must stop comparing one state to another. This is no longer an accurate measure since we are now on the global market, our kids compete for global not American jobs. We now have to compare ourselves to Europe, India, and China. So sadly even our best education mostly sucks compared to those nations. Mark my words we will soon see drastically higher unemployment and difficulties on jobs if we continue our current policies. We will have a problem where people with American education will not be able to get jobs because people in India for example will be more qualified. It's time to stop talking about teachers unions, privatization and get on the damn ball because the problem is curriculum.
The war on drugs is draining our bank accounts on an issue which common sense says is a war that can never be won.....so why keep fighting the way we are fighting? You're right it 'aint working so it's time to change, it's dragging down our society. No matter how anyone feels about the drug war is in my opinion irrelavent because no one can deny that we don't have the money to pay for it. Time to close the DEA and ATF and put them back into the FBI we don't need a dozen federal law enforcement agencies.
CC- Educational comment well said and on point- war on drugs- that is a tougher call- are you suggesting we just legalize drugs- or just stop trying to control them- in a sense get to the same result-
not following- the comment about deregulation- which is often cited in these blogs- from my perspective as a principal in a business - rules and regulations as "general" matter always seem to increase and never go away- so not sure what deregulations you mean-
Heck yea!!!!! Now the working people can make a few bucks, not have to pay high tax rates to keep some union hacks pension plan funded.
Ed wake up dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only 13% of the work force is in a union!!!!!
They ain't the middle class.
The middle class has an average income of $50,000, were as the average union pay is $75,000........
So ed the unions do not represent the middle class...

Walker Lies While Democracy Dies !
Hope ! Yesterday made me sick ! Your post should be bumper sticker. So much money thrown down a rat hole. To waste money this way just shows what a pathetic group of people we have become. When i think of the homeless and hungry and real problems in this world . What a disgrace for the Walker camp!
http://getmoneyout.com/about/
America say good bye to your some what good paying jobs because the second wave of screw the American workers is on it way!!!!
For sure Pam. It is just so despicable that unbridled spending is drowning out the people who pay most of the taxes in America and then get nothing for it : The Middle Class.
HOPE, Ditto that. The American people have been the cannon fodder for them for years. I wonder when will the American spirit cease to exist? I don't believe in capitulating but they are the bullies and i can not say enough how they disgust me!
Pam & Hope,
Ditto!!!!!!
As upset as I am Pam and Carol, I still believe in the under dog winning ! Small groups of people have always been the center of non-violent change around this planet and I believe we will do so again !
US anthropologist & popularizer of anthropology (1901 - 1978)
Small groups of people do change the world ! The Daily Kos
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/12/03/1042098/-Small-Groups-of-People-Do-Change-the-World
I really want to believe, but seeing what so much money did yesterday has shaken the can do it spirit. We have to pull out all the stops and leave no stone unturned.
I think that Walker is actually too small a fish. All along we should have had our eye on Citizens United. He was just the "look over there" tactic big money threw at us. And look. We took the bait.
Absolutely, unless his investigation leads to an indictment. Until that time Walker will absolutely make sure that it's "pay back" time!
THANFULLY the STATE SENATE is NOW , DEMOCRATIC !!! So it will BE HARDER for WALKER to DO ANYTHING !!!
Our future in America

Will America Let Right-Wing Billionaires Buy the Election for Mitt Romney?
ever, collected for his 2008 campaign.
This money is in addition to the money Romney and the Republican Party will raise -- which is expected to be another $800 million.
Who is behind this onslaught of money? Rolling Stone has an article in its current issue -- "Right-Wing Billionaires Behind Mitt Romney" -- that lists 15 backers and their interests.
We also know that Karl Rove controls American Crossroads and Crossroads GPS, which intend to raise and spend over $300 million. Restore our Future, run by Romney cronies, spent more than $46 million in the primaries, almost all of it in attack ads in support of Mitt Romney. They can be expected to raise much more for the general election. Other players expected to spend $100 million or more include the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The Politico article lists others.
Unfortunately, media onslaughts often work. How else to explain that 70 percent of Americans once thought Saddam Hussein was behind 9/11?
Let's hope they don't work this

Score broad there chief....
Republicans 1, unions/liberals ZERO....
Socialism don't work, maybe you all have heard of Europe... Take a look at the P.I.G.S.
Fascism 1
Freedom 0
Yes, the Democratic control of the Wisconsin Senate by 1 will be short lived this November. Hoping.
I voted a hopeful NO. If anything I hope this election served as a wakeup call for the Democrats.
That Despot Walker will run Wisconsin into the ditch.
Stupida. I'm going to be nice and allow you the chance to show us, How many Democrats are recieveing assistance? How many Republicans are recieveing assistance? Include the break down, unemployment, SS, Medicare, Medicaid, Food Stamps, Federal retirement, etc. How many of people you claim pay not taxes are Republican? How many are Democrat? What is their income level? Honest questions about issues your side keeps bitching about. Would apprciate an honest, responsible answer.
No answer yet. Hmmm. There won't be one either. He is not here for intelligent conversation Larry. But nice try to get him to converse like a human being.
excellent post, larry. bet you get no answer since he/she can't back up anything. you would think that since the trolls watch so much msnbc they would have more facts.
LOL Kv56707 !
What is your point larry???
who is on welfare??
It makes no difference if they are D or R. A leech is a leech!!!
there you go, larry. no answer from stupidita. just two stupid questions.
LOL. So very typical of the rightys.
Why am I not surprised? She didn't even ask a stupid question about the ones that they claim pay not taxes. Niether did slack. They can't even decide if it's 45%, 50, 60 65%. the said them all at one time or another. And I'm going to go out on a limb and say the don't consider all the corporate subsidies, and paying not taxes, but getting rebate, is welfare. Corporate subsidies would more than pay for the welfare of people in need. but God forbid we use their tax $$$ for people.
whos on welfare again???
have you come with the numbers yet there larry.....
or just more of this eastern european Bull$hit.
You do not even live in the USA...
Get a life already
stupidita, you are suspended for a day for violating rule # 1 of the Code of Honor.
What I cannot fathom is the zeal some of my fellow Americans take in seeing the middle class being stomped into the ground. Where is the logic in that?
BOO COO, I agree with you! We are going to see a fire storm from state to state of a purge of voters a purge of workers rights and who knows where they will stop! The Republican has declared war on America !
It WONT be long UNTIL the REPULSICONS say that CORPORATIONS HAVE MORE RIGHTS than US99% !!! CITIZENS UNITED was JUST THE START for these RHYPOCRITS !! WHO DONT CARE if they1% DESTROY AMERICA WHILE DOING IT , EITHER !! They think , WE1% HAVE ALL THE MONEY - So WE1% can JUST REBUILD THE USA AFTER IT FAILS !!!
Can't answer yet. All I can say is Barrett's loss is a disappointment, but not a surprise. As Eddie pointed out a while ago many union members although not supporting Walker, did not care for Barrett. Also because Walker made AFSCME feckless have not stayed with the union voluntarily, what was the point. However that is not the only reason, many AFSCME members felt before that the union did not represent them fairly, making claims of racism, cronyism, sexism and all other sorts of isms. Many members saw the union protect irresponsible, and incompetent members for the above reasons, and not protect responsible and productive for the same. Because of this Walker was liked by at least some union members. As for the question of middle class, this is not post WWII America any more. As Nick Hanauer stated on TED corporations and business want to make money, not create jobs. And if business doesn't need to hire, they won't, pure and simple. Like in the Great Depression of the 30's what we may need is a world war, unlike the Bush wars where the American people were asked to never mind what is going on over there, just go about your business shopping. But that is not going to happen, [hope not] what now needs to happen is a push to save America's infrastructure, and America it's self. Why is that so hard to understand?
And for anyone asking where we are to get the money for saving America: Answer raise taxes on the rich. They use the infrastructure too.
slackwarerobert The last thing we want is war! Just saying it did help us out 67 years ago.
But infrastructure, is absolutely necessary, and will stimulate business that will create jobs. Jobs will get people to spend, which stimulates more business. All of which creates tax revenue to pay for the new infrastructure that is absolutely needed.
If $32K is rich, lord help us. $250,000.00 and add for dependents.
Oh Slack Milwaukee isn't a cesspool, it is not without it's problems, but still has a lot going for it. Scary areas in Milwaukee are nothing compared to Chicago. Love Chicago, but now that town has areas that are surreal scary.
Slaker:
When you criticize the "scariness" of a city you should look at the graduation rate.
The high school graduation rate in Milwaukee increased from 61% to 63% while Barrett has been in office.
About 1 out of 3 Milwaukee youth are unemployable because they don't have a high school diploma.
Cities spiral into decay when that happens because people that are chronically unemployed can make $3,000/pound selling drugs.
Scott Walker is busy spending 100% of his time making that worse by cutting public education funding so white supremacists can put their kids in segregated schools.
Mayor Barrett does not control the education budget. The state does.
You are critisizing Mayor Barrett why?
I find it amazing that Wisconsin voters are so poorly educated that wealth people can trick them into voting against their own self interest.
Even more amazing that hundreds of thousands of people voted for someone that is under investigation for fraud, including subordinates that have already been prosecuted.
This brings up another important point.
Can a sitting governor pardon himself or get his prosecution delayed by screwing with the judicial budget?
Inquiring minds want to know
Not true.
Nobody filed criminal charges on Bill Clinton.
Nobody filed criminal charges on Hillary either.
Didn't happen at the state level.
Didn't happen at the federal level.
If memory serves correctly, some conservative web sites did lie about that at the time.
But viewer, the repubs are against spending $$$ here. They would rather give it to oil companies to pad their profits. They could care less about our out-dated crumbling infrastructure. And IF they decided to soend the money to fix it, it might help the people. Now we couldn't have that could we? That also might bring the unemployment rate way down, get the economy growing at a faster rate. No we just can't let that happen. Why would they want anything that would help the COUNTRY and not just the top 1%?
Which is why as a self described centrist, libertarian, independent, I favor the democrats. And why as working middle class like Ed, Rachel, Chris, Martin, and the rest. It is why I go on this site almost every evening and post in support, give thumbs up to comments like yours, and no value, or inflammatory to [you know who].
The POTUS wants to fix the streets, bridges, electrical grid. He better! It is the republicans who are preventing him in order to "make him a one term president."
The republicans have adopted a scorched earth policy, they want to destroy the country just to gain power.
Look at Cantor, McConnell, look at their faces, their eyes, you can see the evil. And Boehner that drunk, cry baby, he's like the retarded guy in The Incredible Two Headed Transplant.
Oh and Larry don't forget small business, small business and corporations are the backbone of our economy. Small and midsize companies in fair competition is what made this country great. But when they get too big, [too big to fail], when corporations, and even individuals become nations within themselves. Something must be done to restore balance. What outside of higher taxes, and anti trust laws I do not know, if I did I would be a guest on Ed and not just a blogger here.
In Wisconsin yes. Not all states fall for the fluff.
The Kock brothers pulled one over the People of Wisconsin. They paid their mole plenty to rig the computer vote counting machines to get their stooge walker in just like the idiot bush election.
You are so right. And you know how you can tell ? From the very get go the margin for the Gov, Lt Gov and Senators was identical. That does not happen without manipulation of the votes.
I would love to have someone open a web site and have all of the Democrat voters in Wisconsin log on to it and type in their name, zip and that they voted. And then compare the number from that tally to the votes that the ' machines ' tallied. There would be a difference of about 500,000 votes left out of the final tally.
Fascist much ? You must be so proud.
He is very proud. Not too bright, but very proud. And God only knows we just have to stop that 0.00003% of voter fraud.
If votes can be deleted they can be added.
It is the American people's fault. When they pay more attention to dancing with the stars than political matters, what do you expect.
Hit the nail on the head Edward. What we have is a large part of the electorate that doesn't get who they are really supporing; Big Money. They are relentless in voting against their own interests and pull the middle class down because of their idiotic choises.
Ed has just given a statistic that suppots this; that 27% of UNION MEMBERS voted for Walker. Lame brains.
Edward Darrah Having formerly worked in the television industry for 27 years, I have to say that it is the greatest medium for mass mind control ever devised. If everyone keeps this in mind, it's a start.
Occupy Wacko thanks for your comments. We will miss you when you are gone
Yes Stupida don't forget to count all the republicans in Mississippi and alabama.
What???
I'm shock wondering where democrat went wrong
