Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker prevailed in his state's recall election on Tuesday, but is he now gunning for a prime speaking slot at the Republican National Convention in Tampa this year?
Commentator Abby Huntsman Livingston, MSNBC host Ed Schultz, The Huffington Post's Sam Stein, and MSNBC Political Analyst Richard Wolffe weigh in on Walker's victory during today's NOW With Alex Wagner.
"You got 37% of union households in Wisconsin voting for Scott Walker," Ed said. "The unions need to go back to the classroom and explain to their people that its important to vote for folks who got your best interest at heart."

I can't even stand to look at this sorry excuse of a man. I don't recall ever feeling this defeated regarding politics.
I don't see how the Democrats will ever compete with the unlimited resources of the Corporations, the dirty tricks, voter suppression and anything else they decide to throw at the middle of America - at 70 years I think it may be time for me to tune out and let the younger generation try to bring America back to what it once was .
Huge voter turn out, people knew what they were doing and what needed to be done and did it. Unions can no longer push people around, they are done.
Walker is only the puppet......You are looking at TWO KOCH BROTHERS who are the dangerous puppet masters. The republican party is owned. So who is pushing whom around?

Voting:
Since the Citizen's United decision, corporations can now attempt to influence their employees' votes. The Koch Brothers jumped on that band wagon right away and mailed out lists of Koch supported candidates to their 50,000 employees during the last election. See info and a copy of a recommended election packet at www.thenation.com
Climate Change Denial:
A March 2010 Greenpeace report shows that Koch Industry foundations have contributed (2005-2008) nearly $25 million to organizations that oppose clean energy and climate policy. That does not include oil and gas lobbying of $37.9 million. Barrett is a puppet of the large public government labor unions, the DNC, George Soros and the Progressive movement. The American people are rising up to kick your leaders to the curb. It began in 2010, continued yesterday evening and will continue through this November. Liberals had their chance over the past three years and made the nation much worse off. Time to go... forever. This was a victory for tax payers, job creators, workers, children, old, rich, poor, middle class, etc. The only people that lost were the greedy entitlement citizens and their corrupt public government unions.
Yes, and the Koch brothers are with you in the booth as you vote, and your voting record is for all to see. Record numbers leaving Union, record number for voter turn out, the people have spoken......twice.
When these people who live in a home with one or two union worker lost their jobs I hope they remember that they voted for Walker or their father or mother retire and dont have enough money to pay their mortgage and have to move in with you.
So let me get this straight as you guys all seem to drink Ed's dribble of lies...Its OKAY that Obama out raised (much from wealthy liberals as well as corporations) and outspent Mccain by 530 million dollars - and that Obama spent more money in the 2008 campaign than any person in HISTORY - and no one says a word - Ed never complains - but when a republican gets money in from private business, thats all evil. You libs really are nuts.
and just before you all say THATS NOT TRUE as always ... here are some of the numbers from 2008: that went to Obama:
Goldman Sachs - over 1 million
Microsoft - 850k
Google - 814k
JP Morgan - 808k
UBS - 532k
IBM - 532k
Morgan Stanley - 512k
That is what companies do!!!
And compareing a State election to a Federal election. Apples and Oranges anybody?
And yet you complain about how the people of that state voted. Apples and Oranges. They did what they felt was best for WI. Even MSNBC commentators acknowledged that there were "local politics" factors that they did not predict. In other words, people in WI know what is best for people in WI and everyone else, including most of us on this blog, are just barking at the wind.
Its not about comparing a state election to a federal election! It is about all you lib CRYBABIES who need to find an excuse as to why people dont want your screwed up agendas anymore. And the excuse now - awww, we were outspent, Citizens United and stuff, awww. But....when people in your party - your head in chief to be precise, outspent anyone else, and anyone else who ever ran in that particular position - well gosh darn it, thats just all fine and dandy and no liberal blabber mouths say a word!! That is the very definition of being hypocritical. Either money is bad for ALL PARTIES AND POLITICS (and it is) or it is fine for both to use. Just don't cry when you lose and blame the money and yet when you will say nothing about that.
Opie, I hope the union families remember Walker when his administration grows the economy with pro-business tax reforms and regulations, which creates more jobs - to include the union workers. Democrats are always so negative, while the GOP remains positive for ALL citizens - left and right. This is why Barret and the Democrats failed with their divide and conquer strategy of "class warfare".
awwww, you poor people! the citizens of Wisconsin will no longer have to pay for your entire gold plated pension and medical plans, and for you to retire 10 years before everyone else. you guys might have to actually PAY for your retirement WORK for 65 years and PAY for your medical plans LIKE EVERYONE ELSE.
you people are not helping your cause with the whole 'woe is me' attitude. sorry, but no one but yourselves cares that you will now have to pay a small fraction of your health care and retirement. you see, pretty much everyone else has been doing it their entire lives. you all come off as entitled cry babies and it is HILARIOUS!
and just a side note, you do realize that the Citizens decision opened the door for unions to spend money on PACs right? and they were amongst the first to create and spend money on those PACs? and there were many, many out of state unions pouring money into those PACs in Wisconsin? so what is the deal? its OK for unions to spend ungodly sums of money to keep their tax payer funded gold plated benefits but it is not OK for a corporation or a group private citizens to spend ungodly sums of money to stop it? don't worry about responding, as i already know the answer. and yes, you are a hypocrite.
If puppet walker is a rising star.....it looks more like eat dust.
John. Please show me where I said one damn word about either winning or losing. And you rightie just can't help yourself from calling names can you? Your name calling is getting disgusting. And really discredits anything else you might say. All I did was point out that the conversation was, money in WI, and you started with Obama. State, Federal. Two different categories. And you come back with "cry babies". Very adult.

Everyone has the right to speak their minds, but the Newsvine is NOT the Federal Government... Speech on the 'Vine is a privelege, not a Right... Here, you are expected to abide by several rules of which you are informed when you sign up as a poster... Failure to abide by the 'Vine's Code of Honor may get you banned... Besides, you may feel you have the right to speak, but here, we have the right not to have to listen, which is why I have on my 'ignore' list...

you would think, from your poor attempt at satirical poetry, that money became a huge force in elections ('buy' to you) at the exact moment the Citizens ruling went into effect.
in the last presidential election, BEFORE Citizens United, obama spent $760 million on his campaign, twice as much as his opponent John McCain. and you talk about BIG money buying elections...
so do you also support the notion that obama 'bought' the election in 2008? no, you don't because you are hypocrite. and it is only 'buying' an election when the other guy wins. you libs are freaking delusional.

After David Koch Leaves NIH Board, NIH Hands Down Long-Delayed Classification Of Top Koch Pollutant As A Carcinogen
By Lee Fang on Jun 11, 2011 at 5:00 pm
Large manufacturers and chemical producers have lobbied ferociously to stop the National Institutes of Health from classifying formaldehyde as a carcinogen. A wide body of research has linked the chemical to cancer, but industrial polluters have stymied regulators from action.
Last year, the New Yorker’s Jane Mayer reported that billionaire David Koch, whose company Georgia Pacific (a subsidiary of Koch Industries) is one of the country’s top producers of formaldehyde, was appointed to the NIH cancer board at a time when the NIH delayed action on the chemical. The news was met with protests from environmental groups. Faced with mounting pressure from Greenpeace and the scientific community, Koch left offered an early resignation from the board in October.

Their whining and crying is music to my ears. Pure pleasure and entertainment as the lunatic Liberal Chicken Littles bounce off the walls telling us the sky is now falling, when in fact, the state is going to get stronger and better under GOP leadership.
What none of the far left crowd mentions about the WI new laws is that once union members were given the option to leave the union, they did so in droves. If they loved their union so much, why did they not continue to pay their dues? In San Jose and San Diego, CA, they voted to restrict the public unions much more so than in WI. Once the people get a chance to reduce the power of Public Employees they will do so every time. The only place the unions belong in is the private sector. There is no place for the unions in the Public Sector, as FDR said, they are already protected by existing laws.
Who won? No one won here! Tell me when you wake up and spell the Koch fart.
"spell" the Koch fart? Okay, F....A....R....T. LMAO!!! Now you tell me when you sit down and smell George Soros' fart.

Hey, what happened. Geessh. Who saw this coming? Wow.
stupid:
Are you playing on the company computer while on the clock? Get to work and quit expecting your family to carry you, missy.
There's much we can thank unions for. Organized labor brought on an awareness of a need to treat working class citizens fairly whether they're union or not. On the same token there's been plenty of instances over the years where unions have been too demanding. Now we're seeing a backlash. CEOs are richly rewarded for a fat bottom line that more often than not comes at the expense of the average worker.
Eric 2804575
Be careful what you hope for.
The GOP is Pro-private (business) unions and supports the position put forth by FDR, who is against the public (government) unions that leads to political corruption, fraud, waste and abuse of tax payer dollars for unsustainable benefits and pensions. Police and Firemen unions were not touched. LOL
Unions were needed and did their job, we no longer need them, laws that were not there are now in place. Thank you Unions, now please go away.
No need for me to be careful, I haven't ever or would ever work at a job that a condition of employment was to join a Union. I hope that freedom is given to all.
As a republican you might feel that way but the legislation your party supports says otherwise.
Personally I would like to think public unions should be unnecessary. The government should be mandated by law to treat workers fairly. On the same token I doubt Walker has any interest in fair treatment of workers. Like the other republicans he doesn't support equal pay for women.
With corporations making record profits, middle class declining, wow, those nasty unions are killing profits. Get real!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
larry74, you are right and wrong at the same time. Profits are up, but unions manage to kill local production jobs. You seem to be unable to grasp the concept of a global economy. Production does not need to remain here, so those corporations outsource to where it is cheaper rather than deal with unions. Prices go down, consumption goes up, and profits rise. Incidentally, that is the same argument for lower taxes. You lower the tax rate, people have more cash on hand, they spend it, businesses and their employees make more money and pay taxes on those transactions, and tax revenues rises as the rate falls. Either way, you can do more for Americans by insisting on only buying products made in the USA than you will ever do helping a union because no company is forced to keep production centers here. You have to be willing to pay a little more for higher quality local goods to make a difference instead of buying Chinese made crap at Walmart.
Again, you confusing private unions (which we support) with public unions (which we don't). The problem with public unions is that corrupt politicians are on the take from Union money and sit around and make fantastic deals with pensions and such - yet they are supposed to be representing me! Yet I don't have a chance to say - wait a second - why does he get his salary for life? A corporation can do whatever they want to do with THEIR OWN MONEY and unions have a role there. Put publicly, it is a sham.
And with all that outsorceing come unemployment. The right believe in supply side. Well, when people have no money, they don't buy. It's nothing but greed on the corporations part. We've not seen the worse.
Larry, tell that to Obama that hired the CEO from GE to be his "Jobs Czar" but wound up shipping thousands of jobs to China AFTER he received tax payer stimulus funds and paid NO taxes under this administration. I love the irony!!! LOL!
larry74, again, global economy. They don't have to sell things here either. They can follow the profits. If you want to improve things the best thing you can do is buy locally produced products and convince others to do the same. Until you change the demand there is no reason to shift the supply side. Demand will ALWAYS determine supply in the long term. That's economics 101. Instead of complaining about how the suppliers operate, you need to convince people to shift demand. It's not a hard concept. It is hard to execute in practice, yes, but the concept is relatively simple.
We've said all along, demand creates jobs. Rightie can't understand that concept. I don't buy if it isn't USA.
Conservatives believe in business magic, all you have to do is start a business and the wealth come pouring in.
I now fear for not just Wisconsin, but for our entire country. Divide and conquer has just begun with the female population added to the agenda of the Republicans. At 63, I remember where women stood just a few years ago. When I requested a tubual litigation in 1976, it could not be performed without written consent from my husband. When applying for our first home mortgage in 1970 we were told that my income could not be considered because I would most likely be pregnant before long, staying at home with the child and not working. Governor Walker said "don't turn back the clock", isn't that exactley what he's trying to do to women? Little by little our rights will be stripped and when enough decide that a change must be made, I have to ask "will we still have the right to vote for that change"?
While you fear for the nation, we see the promise of our Republic by ensuring all citizens (tax payers) are protected from the greedy public government unions that FDR warned us about back in the '30s. Tell us how FDR, the father of Progressives, was wrong. This is a culture of corruption in the radical Democratic Party and here's how they rape us tax payers: youtube.com/watch?v=su4PwZCWUdg
Move to Cuba...
The great irony is that union organizers
continue to claim that workers need a union to protect them from evil, greedy,
self-serving management tyrants.
Which begs the question, 'why do government
workers need to organize when they work for the caring,
compassionate, altruistic government over to which the Democrats want us to turn
more and more of our lives ?'
And if they need protection from the government,
what protection to those of us who do not work for the government have?

Report: Koch Industries outspends Exxon Mobil on climate and clean energy disinformation
By Climate Guest Blogger on Mar 31, 2010 at 11:06 am
In a must-read report, Greenpeace details how Koch Industries has “become a financial kingpin of climate science denial and clean energy opposition,” spending over $48.5 million since 1997 to fund the anti-science disinformation machine. Brad Johnson has the story.
Climate Progress and the Wonk Room have long detailed the role of the billionaire brothers of Koch Industries, Charles and David Koch, in destroying American prosperity. Their pollution-based fortunes have fueled a network of right-wing ideologues, from McCain mouthpiece Nancy Pfotenhauer to loony conspiracy theorist Christopher Monckton. In public, the Kochs like to burnish their reputations by buying museum and opera halls.

If you take the age of the earth and condense to a 24 hour clock, humans have only been here for 7 seconds!!!!
Next it is water vapor that is the main reason for radiation retention, not CO2.
Furthermore there was more CO2 in the atmosphere 3 million years ago than today.
So the planet is going to turn into a pizza oven, like the greenpeace and the rest of the tree hugging morons try to BS us all with...
I guess all those white, privileged wealthy union workers who took personal days to go down to the capitol to scream and chant and leave their filth and garbage for everyone else to clean up didn't go over too well with voters, did they.
Government mandating that workers pay dues to a certain advocacy association (unions) is the real threat to freedom in America. If you union thugs can't keep your minions in line without government force at the point of a gun, you should consider a different line of work. Start practicing "Will that be a LARGE order of fries with that burger?..."
If the people in Wisconsin loved their unions so much, why did membership drop by 2/3rds once mandatory membership was removed? Looks to me like plenty of people, when given the choice, chose having no master as opposed to having a union master. People shouldn't be forced into joining ANYTHING. Now we see where they truly stand, and it was never with unions.
Koch front group lauches propaganda drive to smear Wisconsin protesters
Koch Industries Front Group Launches Ad to Support Walker’s Union Busting
Lee Fang
As ThinkProgress has reported, the global conglomerate Koch Industries not only helped elect Gov. Scott Walker (R-WI), but is the leading force orchestrating his union-busting campaign.
Koch gave Walker over $43,000 in direct donations and its allies aired millions of dollars worth of attack ads against his Democratic opponent. Then, Koch political operatives pressured Walker to crush labor unions as one of his first priorities. Tim Phillips, a former lobbying partner to Jack Abramoff and current president of Americans for Prosperity, a front financed by David Koch, told the New York Times that Koch operatives “had worked behind the scenes to try to encourage a union showdown.” A Koch-financed front group, the American Legislative Exchange Council, has prepped Wisconsin GOP lawmakers with anti-labor legislative ideas.

Scott Walker OWNED by Charles and David Koch! (New details)
A CMD Special Report: Scott Walker Runs on Koch Money
Submitted by Lisa Graves
Madison, Wisconsin — A new investigation by the Center for Media and Democracy documents the big money funneled by one of the richest men in America and one of the richest corporations in the world to put controversial Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker in office.
The Republican Governors Association and the Kochs’ Investment in Scott Walker
Walker was elected just over three months ago on the heels of an exceptionally expensive gubernatorial race in the Badger State, fueled by groups funded by the Koch brothers, David and Charles. David Koch, the son of a radical founding member of the John Birch Society, which has long been obsessed with claims about socialism and advocated the repeal of civil rights laws, personally donated $1 million to the Republican Governors Association (RGA) in June of last year. This was the most he had ever personally given to that group. (Fellow billionaire Rupert Murdoch matched Koch’s donation to the RGA with a $1 million donation from his company News Corporation, parent company of FOX “News” Channel.)

Walker And Prosser Crushed Regulations On Koch Industry’s Phosphorus Pollution In Wisconsin
Shortly after helping to elect Gov. Scott Walker (R-WI), Koch Industries opened a new lobbying office in Madison near the state capitol. However, little has been disclosed about the Koch lobbying agenda in
Madison. The New York Times reported that Koch political operatives privately pressured Walker to crush public employee unions. But Walker’s major payback to Koch relates to environmental deregulation.
ThinkProgress has learned that the Walker administration, along with state Supreme Court judge David Prosser, has quietly worked to allow Koch’s many Georgia Pacific paper plants to pollute Wisconsin by
pouring thousands of pounds of phosphorus into the water.
Koch’s Georgia Pacific plants are well known for releasing large amounts of phosphorus into Wisconsin’s waterways. A report by the state government showed that Georgia Pacific is responsible for about 9% of
total phosphorus pollution in the Lower Fox River near Green Bay.

I saw a picture the other day of a guy in Beijing, China, riding a bicycle and the air behind him was so black, I thought he was trying to get away from a fire, but it was pollution from all the factories. I don't know how those people can breathe! All you righties on here that want to see the end of the unions, which in time will mean the end of the Democrats, just keep voting for Repubs. And you, too, will have air like China. And no clean water to drink after they do away with the EPA. Fracking, the Keystone pipeline and Big Ag will foul the water so you can't drink it. After corporations have destroyed everything on this planet in the name of unbridled greed, what are you going to do? You can't live without water. Your lungs won't last too long with air like I have described. What are you going to do hot shots? Not that I worry about YOU, it's everyone that tried to warn the people to wake up that I worry about. You guys are so stupid, you deserve what you get. T. Boone Pickens is sucking clean water out of the Ogallala Aquifer in north Texas and shipping it to China. You would have to buy it from him and if you don't have the money, he said, with a smile, you would just have to do without. Nice guys, these Republicans. You must be so proud.
What a load of crap. Same old tired Liberal talking points about Republicans wanting to pollute the air, water and land. Guess what, none of us want polluted air or water and there are plenty of EPA and state regulations in place that are working just fine. In fact most urban waterways are cleaner today than they were 20 years ago. And most cities air is cleaner than it was too. And those regulations and safeguards were passed by Republicans and Democrats together. And can you guess why the air and water is cleaner, new technology and innovation developed by the big corporations that you liberals hate so much. Filtering systems that were not in existence 20-30 years ago. Yea corporations really suck don't they.
You haven't been paying attention idiot. Robme wants to get rid of the EPA and any other regulation that might stand in the way of higher profits. Must be nice to have selective hearing.
We finally have a Governor the taxpayers of WI can be proud of. Thanks Scott for standing strong through the threats, lies, tantrums and intimidation tactics of the left wing libs who had forced their will upon us for far too long. We now have a balanced budget, employers are hiring, property taxes have gone down and the unions no longer control our government budgets. It's a great day in WI!
You are worried about taxes? How about Freedom. I think you just gave your state up to Koch ownership. wallker is you puppet man. Good lluck.

Billionaire industrialists Charles and David Koch accused of distorting US democracy
by Ed Pilkington, in New York
Prominent figures on both the right and left of the US political spectrum gathered in the luxury enclave of Rancho Mirage in the Californian desert today amid increasingly heated debate about the influence of the secrecy-loving billionaires Charles and David Koch on the political process.
About 200 key figures in business, energy, the media and law were expected to assemble at a five-star hotel at the invitation of the Koch brothers for the latest of their twice-yearly discussion groups on how to forward their libertarian causes. The talks began at 1pm with sessions that focused on how to fight the Obama administration, which the Kochs see as a threat to the free market and unfettered wealth.
As the attendees arrived in their private jets, they were greeted by an airship that circled over the hotel’s golf courses and tennis courts bearing the logo: “Koch brothers dirty money

Radical, dangerous Koch brothers call their critics “dangerous,” Obama “radical”
Kochs lash out at ‘dangerous’ critics, ‘radical’ Obama
That’s like the proverbial pot calling the kettle black
Politico
In lengthy interviews with a conservative magazine, the billionaire Koch brothers mounted an aggressive defense of their business and political interests, describing their liberal critics as “very, very extreme” and “very dangerous” and President Barack Obama as a “radical” with “Marxist” ideas whose success is owed largely to his “silver tongue.”
Obama is “the most radical president we’ve ever had as a nation Š and has done more damage to the free enterprise system and long-term prosperity than any president we’ve ever had,” David Koch is quoted saying in a story posted late Friday on the website of the Weekly Standard.

Koch Subsidiary Told Regulators It Has ‘Direct and Substantial Interest’ in Keystone XL

A document filed with Canada’s Energy Board appears to cast doubt on claims by Koch Industries that it has no interest in the controversial pipeline.
In recent months Koch Industries Inc., the business conglomerate run by billionaire brothers Charles and David Koch, has repeatedly told a U.S. Congressional committee and the news media that the proposed Keystone XL oil sands pipeline has “nothing to do with any of our businesses.”
But the company has told Canadian energy regulators a different story.

Schultz is correct. This is a wake up call. Dems. shouldn't trust Schultz. He's not a Democrat, he's a gold digger. He's a double agent playing both sides of the aisle for profit. He's a flim flam man. If Schultz jumps in front of another Democratic parade, dems. should change course. Period!
Finally, someone understands ED and I bet you're a Democrat too, which makes your statement even more remarkable. If you know ED's history; you will see this person is 100% correct, and I'm a Conservative.
Do you understand the koch polluters yet? A lot of history there for you to read up on. All in the name of greed. Them will spend bucks, so they can pollute the country side and make greedy profits with out consideration to the enviroment. Good luck, to you winners?
Your comment has nothing to do with my comment, TM..you're projecting. You think that since i don't trust Schultz, that I must not understand the Koch's role in the modern political paradigm. You are 100% incorrect. I believe your comment is an example of "magical thinking." Look up the term. It has to do with foolish correlations.
Ed, What is wrong with voting for whoever benefits the community vice your own self interests? It looks like 37% of the Union Members understand and support Gov. Walker.
This recall election was historic! 1st time a Governor survived such an effort in our history.
The people have spoken......again.
And Ed.....How long are you going to insult the intelligence of the union membership? They are finally beginning to realize the unions are pro-union....not pro-worker.
And tell your pal Martin it was a hoot seeing him spend so much time on spelling!
How did the Unions hurt those workers that you claim Walker is protecting? The Unions met all of Walkers concessions and he turned around and said NO. It was never about the Budget, it was about busting the Unions.
It isn't about the Unions in truth, it is about protecting the Koch greed. walker is their little toy, when he is brought up on criminal charges, they will just bring in another crook. Anything that pays in their favor. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU!
Over the last few years, one thing has become very clear. This country has become so divided, politically, racially, and religiously it hasn't a chance to survive. It is more divided now than prior to the civil war. The hate and lies abound. How many countries have survived when divided? It's one thing to disagree, quite another to call names and insults. How many productive solutions come out of these environments?
Greed has always been a part of society. Never to this extent. One side sees money as the most important thing in life. They live for money. There is never enough.
It is sad to see a country that was once the greatest in the world fall to a mediocre status. Until the diivide is "ended", this country will continue it's downward spiral.
The very best legislation in history came out of both sides working together. Compromise. Now we have a bought and paid for legislation that has said, it will pass no legislation until Nov. Wonder why?
The United States is no longer United. We are divided. We will continue to fall.
It all began with Obama and his politics of divide and conquer when he used the race card against Hillary Clinton and 'class warfare' against the GOP in Congress. He is the MOST divisive President we've had in office for a long long time. It's ashame you Democrats couldn't find someone better to run in 2012. Very sad state of affairs for your political party. Obama is killing our Republic with DEBT.
Sorry wacko, it started long before Obama. But there you go blameing. I don't believe I ever said where it started. And I didn't say who started it. But thank you for helping me make one point.
And your stated about it being Obama helped make a second point.
You're right, it started before Obama. It started with the radical Progressive movement while Bush was President. Want to see proof:
google.com/search?q=anti+bush+signs&hl=en&rlz=1T4ITVA_enUS472&prmd=imvns&source=lnms&tbm=isch&ei=Mr7PT5PBHLG26QHNsaSZDA&sa=X&oi=mode_link&ct=mode&cd=2&ved=0CGwQ_AUoAQ&biw=1366&bih=550
It started before that. It's just got worse over the years. You keep wanting to blame. Another of my points made. Thank you.
Occupy, it's the tax cuts thats putting America in debt. The Republicans will continue to say "you can't increase taxes on job creators". If that is true(it's not), America would have no unemployment. This talking point is so fraudulent, it's only the uneducated who believe it.
The "job creators" are not job creators, they are the job providers. We, the goods and services consuming public, are the job creators. And if we have no money to buy those goods and services, we will have no need for the "job providers". So Congress(the Reps) better start passing these big jobs bills that would put millions of people back to work repairing roads and bridges and schools. But, they won't because they want the President to lose in Nov. What a wonderful, patriotic Party!
From Ed's header "You got 37% of union households in Wisconsin voting for Scott Walker," Ed said. "The unions need to go back to the classroom and explain to their people that its important to vote for folks who got your best interest at heart."
This shows you that the unions do not have the workers best interest. What it says is that the taxpayers are tired of public unions pillaging the state and the workers who are taxpayers realize that. 26000 have left the unions in Wisconsin since the law changed. The union management is only interested in packing their wallets with their workers dues.
Public Unions: You believe that teachers, Police and Fireman are pillaging the state. If people feel the Union is not right for them they have every right to leave the Union, but perhaps they left because they knew the Union could no longer help them because of the law Walker passed and why pay dues. Just curious did anyone tell them if they stayed with the Unions they would definitely be furloughed but if they left the Union they stand a better chance of keeping their positions.
The WI Police and Firemen unions were NOT touched by Walker's collective bargaining reforms. Please use the facts or forever lose credibility on the blogs. It's not difficult to do 'some' research and arm yourself with the truth. The catch is you may need to look for information outside of MSDNC.
Wacko if your are the Credibility Police of the Blogs - I am safe. Trust Wacko I do my research the only source I avoid is the PR firm for the Republicans - Fox News.
Lorr, they are only here to discredit, but they bring no sources, because they have none, and they are not going to read any of ours.
If people feel the Union is not right for them they have every right to leave the Union
often NOT the case. in many states, in many unions, you can't leave if you want to retain your job. I was hired for a position to teach at a college, and refused to join the union, which was a requirement of the job. they withdrew their offer.
It is amazing how the far left thinks. They go berserk because the Public employee have been denied collective bargaining rights. They say nothing about Federal employees that belong to unions and pay dues and yet they have no collective bargaining rights. The President can freeze their pay, Obama has done so, change their retirement program from a defined benefit to a defined contribution without consultation and you do not here a word. You want to know why? Because the unions collect the dues and give them to the Democratic Party. If you were to make the union dues at the Federal level voluntary, guess what? The union would scream. It is not about collective bargaining, not about contribution but about how much money the union bosses collect, the salary of the union bosses and how much money they can use to buy politicians.
Is this a joke. The only people whose "best interest" the GREEDY, PARASITIC, UNAMERICAN public sector unions have at heart are the G,P,U p. s. u.!!!!!
They don't care if their state is going bankrupt so long as they keep the ability to feed at the taxpayer's, and their neighbor's trough! They go apolplectic when asked to pay a VERY SMALL amount for their insurance and pensions, while they want many who have neither, or even jobs, topay for them!
Most AMERICANS after losing an election, go have a drink, and vow to work harder next time. The UNAMERICAN union thugs refuse to do the same thing. They won't accept the will of the people if the people disagree with them, so we get this recall nonsense, which is blatantly UNAMERICAN when malfeasance in office, like defiling the Oval Office with an intern, or sexual harassment I believe government regs call it, are involved.
Many of us would loved to have "recalled" the inept, radical tool of the left wing, but we've suffered for 3 1/2 years, and will it the right way, the democratic way, the American way, THE NEXT ELECTION!
So is the puppet you just elected again going to save you state? Watch the pollution of you waters waste your state away. Wallker is in the Koch organizations pocket. HE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR STATE.
Mom you are truly delusional
Ah no that is your job max you are so delusional you believe in a economic system that has yet to ever do what it said it was going to do. If tax cuts let job creators create jobs then after 34 years every man woman and child would have 3 jobs. Instead all tax cuts created was more out sourcing your problem is your delusions refuse to let you admit your wrong.
So sorry stupid union members continue to vote against their own self interest! People all over this country and the world have given their lives to organize, to foster a better wage and working standards for themselves and families. Is that so terrible? The Republican Party wants the working class to grovel and return to the Ronald Reagan day's of assaulting and destroying the middle class. I'm so disgusted with dumb Democrats who just don't get it!!!!!!!
It's obvious you folks have no idea what it means to have "collective bargaining". It's just that, bargaining. Ever buy a house? Did you pay asking price or "bargain". How about a car? Ever heard of "negotiations"?
Oh, but Larry that would require compamise so most of the people would be served, not just the few.
Larry-
collective bargaining is fine...collective bargaining with tax payer dollars is NOT fine. you have NO say in how much public sector union people get paid, and its YOUR money....you are okay with that??? the state can arbitrarily raise your taxes, for no reason other than to pay the public unions in the state, and you are fine with that???
It's called "comensation package". But then I've yet to hear you complain about congresses "comensation package" just because it's not union. It's tax pay $$$. And I've been in the public unions. I've seen workers take cuts in pay, cuts in bemifits when things got tight. If the "Gov't" which ever, state, city, county, doesn't want to pay it, it's called barganing. But you are just one more reason this country is going down the tube. Don't want anybody to get anything they work for. Only you. You act like you're the only one that pays taxes.
Take me back to high school. What is the purpose of the Supreme Court. I see no need for them to even be in existence and you cannot get rid of them unless they die or retire. Who bought the Supreme Court because before Scott Walker put a For Sale sign on his forehead you had the Supreme Court Justices with For Sale and Sold signs on them. The Supreme Court need to fix this mess but they can't because they have already pocketed the money offshore.
I think the supreme court we have now is loaded with rightwing thinkers, not loaded with people who are fair.
What Supreme Court - they are now the Board of Directors for the Republican Party.
They are people who interpret the constitution. Not enact new law to fit your politics
Gee I did not know that - WOW you are so smart. Tell me what part of the Constitution fits Citizens United Ruling? Look you are free to have your opinion and I am free to have my opinion - don't you just love that first amendment.
What is the purpose of the Supreme Court.
ummm...it serves as a balance to the otehr 2 branches, to make sure that laws that are apssed are CONSTITUTIONAL...
Lets say that 1 party had all the power- super majority in the Senate, controlled the house, and the Presidency...and they passed a law that said somehting to the effect that a certian group of people, based on NOTHING other than their gender or ethnicity, weren't privy to free speech...without the supreme court, thats the new law...the USSC would step in and rule that law unconstitutional. they are perhaps the most important branch of government we have.
Lorr, unfortunately, you'll find the righties here only believe they have the right of the first amendment. They don't even follow the rules of the blog. they believe what ever they do is OK. It wii get worse. Have a great day and don't let the righties get to you. I've got several on ignore they were so nasty.
All that BS coming from a person that just got his wings clipped by the mods..
Remember larry74...
You liberals call people like me a "teabagger" put that in your google machine and see what you come up with.
Once again, you live up to your name. The teabaggers took that name themselves back during the 2010 elections. I got a warning, I didn't get my wings clipped. I still fly just fine. IF the mods were to invoke the rule equally, most of the rightie here would get more than that.
Come_And_Take_Them!
I understand we have three branches of Government - Congressional, Judicial and Executive. I know what they are expected to do, however in my opinion the Judicial Branch is failing to do their job without bias.
I do not consider myself to be either Republican or Democrat, but I do believe all people should be treated equally. The American Medical Association and the Wisconsin Board of Realtors are two examples of what I consider to be "elite unions". Money is collected from the WRS and sent directly to fund the Republicans. There are many professional organizations that have "groups". These groups are no different than unions, they lobby for the best interests of the people in the group they represent. If we no longer allow unions to represent groups of people, we should not allow lobbyists in our government, same thing. The unions most here are referring to were organized to help the individual with fair wages, safety in the workplace, etc.. I do not support all that the unions do such as in the case of a worker who has a bad work place history having his job protected. The answer here is compromise. Teachers in Wisconsin were willing to do this, they agreed to the terms but it wasn't good enough for our man Walker, he only wanted to bust them.
The other thing that annoys me is when some people say Democrats support abortion. No one likes abortion, what is being supported is the right to do with your body as you yourself want. Women don't need government telling them what they can and cannot do with their bodies. After all, isn't that what the Republicans want, less government involvement? The answer, COMPROMISE.
This world would be a much better place if everyone would just follow "the golden rule", and you don't have to have religion that says you should. It's just the right thing to do!
So you have never heard of the AFL-CIO???
they take money out of the pockets of the workers and send to the DNC....
Unions are not consider "Associations"....
Okay for the DNC to raise money but not for the RNC...
One way street with you liberals..
So wrong. IF a person wants to contribute to a campaign, the sign a card stateing how much and which candidate. I've been there.
The AFL-CIO is the largest donator to the DNC..
As you union member you have no say in that matter.
You have more BS than the day is long dude.
I was and I did. And I don't. Keep living up to your name.
