Here's a pie chart showing how much money for the two candidates came from out of state. About two-thirds of Governor Scott Walker's donations are from out of state, compared to about one-fourth for Mayor Tom Barrett:

American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME) membership in Wisconson has already been cut in half since Gov. Walker launched his war on workers:

The fight in Wisconsin tonight is bigger than Scott Walker. It’s about the middle class. And when we have a strong labor force in this country, we have a strong middle class.
Yet as union membership has dropped over the years, so has the earning power of the middle class. Meanwhile, the rich get richer:

The sooner people realize you can't trust ANY Republican any farther than you can throw them, the amount of money won't matter. No amount of lies and money will be able to sway them from protecting their own best interests. People just need to start paying attention and find out how dirty and underhanded the Reps are. That's not only goes for Wi., but every state in the nation.
That's right you can only trust democrats, like jon corizne....
MJB, it's obvious by the bully behavior. Stupida, your name speaks volumes.
Go learn some Italian.....
MJB only enough for the west... as in coffee.
Like I haven't heard that one before. You'll have to do better than that.
I hear you whine. It really sucks when democracy works. Plato's philosopher kings are scratching their heads.
yeah, people hate it when Democracy works. The people cast their votes.
MJB -you show your ignorance in every word you speak. You are ONE DUMB @!$%#.
stop crying about the money raised and spent. I never heard ed complain when obama raised over one BILLION $$, and will do the same again. the union shouldn't pick a fight if they can't finish it. oh, and by the way, where was obama...he was nowhere near WI. I have said it before and will again, I really want to thank ed!! if it wasn't for him giving this whold thing so much attention and air time, we would not have been able to see what out-of-control leftists the unions have become, or how idiotic the dem lawmakers looked as they tried to subvert democracy by leaving the state!! The decline in union membership is primarily due to the fact that a person in WI who chooses not to join the union, is not forced to.
Hey ed you been hangin' with that tanning bed mom in NJ?? sure looks like you have been hitting the fake & bake.
HAHAHA!!!! so true!!!!
Hey stupida, there you go again, living up to your name!
Damn right I am....
I wouldn't be bragging about that if I were you. But, thank God I'm not.
For the 1000th time, go learn some Italian ....Minga!!
Yes, governor Walker collected more out-of-state financial support than Barrett. A greater percentage of Walker's campaign finances are from out-of-state. What Ed Schultz and other news media always fail to acknowledge, however, is that Walker has collected more money IN-STATE than Barrett as well. $12.1 million in-state contributions to Walker, $2.9 million in-state contributions to Barrett. In other words, even if no outside money whatsoever was involved in this election, Walker would still have an over 4:1 financial advantage.
You noticed that when union members had a choice of belonging to the union or not-----they left the union. If you give people the choice of whether to pay union dues or not: they refuse to pay. That is what the union are fighting for. It has nothing to do with the middle class or bargaining rights, it has to do with MONEY and what politicians they can buy.
Spot on. When not intimidated, they leave the union. They knew all along that their dues dollars were just just for the union elite to spend on their buds. I am not against workplace unions. But, there is no place for public sector unions. I want the people that I elect to negotiate for me. If you don't like the wages, start a business. Ed was a poor athlete, an even worse commentator now, but tries to verbally intimidate. He is a puzzle gut loser. He was in school, he is now. I know, I played against him.
WOW!!! I find It unbelievable how stupid and gullible the republican Wisconsin people are voting walker back in. They are definitely the ignorance of this country.
dude put down the cool aid!!!!!!!
You believe this because most of the people do not want to be economic slaves to public employees and their ridiculous pensions and salaries ?
My God you liberals are from another planet!
Patriot---- my ass
ED one word for you "LOSER"
It wasn't even close lost by 20%
the people have spoken they are tired of the union thug leeches bleeding the tax payer dry and bankrupting states
Patriot- According to the exit polls- the majority that turned out will vote for President Obama in the fall- so how is that the voters of Wisconsin are ignorant- essentially you are call the citizens of Wisconsin stupid- what a country we live-
Yeah the exit polling is suspect. Suppose this for just a moment:
The exit polling showed a much tighter race for Walker, somewhere in the neighborhood of 51-48%. Let's say some of that crowd gave misinformation (which often happens in exit polling and Walker wins by about 9% (54-45). Now the same exit polls show likely voting for Obama over Romney by about 53%-47%. Could that possibly mean that real number is skewed 3% making it a statistical tie right now? I'll bet Obama's political reelection team is pondering the same thing right now and crapping their shorts. Wisconsin could very well be in play.
Hahaha, Ed says Walker may be indicted in the next few days...for what, being AWESOME?
Ed, If money was the difference, does that mean that Obama bought the 2008 election. Duhh, who started this fiasco anyway. Not Walker.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!
Ed your a idiot.....
ABO!!!!! is next...
Anybody BUT!! Obama!!!!!! 2012!!
There are more posters here tonight than normally watch Ed's show. Mr. Ed reruns even do better I think.
what happen to all the signature that was calling for scott walker removal ? so sad money can make people for get what they are fighting for.
What % of Walker contributions were $50 and less? I heard 70%,If this is true what does that tell you? Elections have consequences deal with it!
I love that the people in WI hate their teachers and cops and firemen so much that they spit on their jobs and wages!
People are angry at the economy and who better to take it out on than workers who provide services as part of the societal glue that serves and protects us! SCREW THEM yah!!!!
lol
WI union busting is just the tip of the iceberg. I can't wait until Mitt Romney is elected and we get rid of Medicare and Social Security. I'm tired of old people hanging out and not dying quickly enough sucking up all the resources that can go to corporate earnings.
Hurry up November, the elite need more money!!!
So you do not like the result of the Wisconsin election- so now all of the people of Wisconsin are "haters"- what a country we live in-
petra - you are an idiot
Sorry ED, even with all the GAZILLIONS of dollars that the UNION THUGS poured into the recall, the EDUCATED VOTERS of Wisconsin have spoke LOUD AND CLEAR. I want to know ONE thing. How the heck you gonna spin this butt whooping to the LIBTARDS?
Hey Ed, with all the Union dollars poured into this Wisconsin recall, do you feel it was just wasted money or what? How many poor people could have had food, clothing or shelter with this UNION FIASCO. The EDUCATED people of Wisconsin have spoke loud and clear. You're certainly going to need your dancing shoes to tap dance around this one and try and spin it to favor your politics.
I would just like to Thank Big Ed for guaranteeing Gov. Walker's meteoric Win. Even with Ed's dismal MSNBC Ratings, by associating himself with the Recall movement, Gov. Walker WON the Recall by larger a margin then he won the General election two years ago.
Good Job, Ed. Keep it up.
P.S. We would hire you to attack Romney, but you do that for free--Ed: You're a F..K Idiot.
This is a victory for the people of Wisconsin; They said no to carrying overpaid public employees with unsustainable pensions.
Isn't MSNBC, leading with the progressive motto made famous by the Communist Party, "Lean Forward," lying because it is not counting the bus loads of people brought in and wandering around Wisconsin intimidating voters, mispronouncing the names of towns, and making phone calls. Not to add these in is lying by omission, which Mr. Ed is good at.
The people of wisconsin will pay for their poor choices. A year from now, two years from now, the desecration of the state will continue!
Only Big Eddie could draw a conclusion, hoping the voters are too stupid to realize he's insulting them - that the money spent somehow bought the election and the voters of WI were bought and paid for, and therefore to stupid to vote the way Big Eddie would have approved...
The people of Wisconsin will pay for their bad decisions yesterday. Walker will continue to desecrate the state for two more years. His lies will come to light and no one will be happy.
Unemployment doing down, companies moving back to the state.
Jobs are comeing back to the state.
Yea who needs that type of stuff????
When you can get food stamps SEC 8 houseing & welfare...
If I am understanding the logic here, that means that the only reason Obama won in 2008 was due to the fact that he outspent McCain 3 to 1. It had absolutely nothing to do with George W. Bush, a hopeful change of direction, a fresh start; it was only because Obama outspent McCain. I'm glad Mr. Schultz cleared that up for me. I was confused...
