Democratic Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett showed a lot of "give 'em hell" Harry Truman fight during last night's second and final Wisconsin gubernatorial recall debate.
An amazing exchange began when Republican Gov. Scott Walker, under questioning about the “John Doe” investigation of some Walker’s former aides, brought up a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel story that found the Barrett's police department had under-reported violent crime rates by classifying some incidents as minor assaults.
Barrett accused Walker of running an inappropriate attack ad based on the crime stats story. Watch the Walker ad:
Barrett compared the Walker ad to the infamous Bush "Willie Horton" ad of the 1988 presidential campaign against Democrat Mike Dukakis.
"He’s running a commercial right now that shows a dead baby. He shows a picture of a dead baby. This is Willie Horton stuff,” said Barrett.
“That baby died. The person who killed that baby was arrested by the Milwaukee Police, was prosecuted by the Milwaukee county district attorney. They did their job. But you know what they did wrong? After the baby died, they didn’t change the code. It was a bureaucratic mistake."
"I’ll tell you right now, I had nothing to do with that," Barrett continued. "Look at that commercial. You should be ashamed of that commercial, Scott Walker.”
Walker contended the attack was legitimate because Barrett had campaigned on a downturn in violent crime in Milwaukee.
Barrett retorted: “I have a police department that arrests felons. He has a practice of hiring them.”
Ed will have expanded coverage of the Wisconsin recall with John Nichols, Washington Correspondent of The Nation, tonight onThe Ed Show at 8pET on MSNBC! Ed will also be live from Wisconsin on Monday and Tuesday, June 4-5.

Watching Barrett debate Walker was like watching a dog chase its tail; lots of energy but no results.
http://gratewire.com/topic/wisconsin-governor-scott-walker-may-go-to-prison-more-gop-filth-indicted
Walker May Go To Prison :
This morning, a criminal complaint filed in circuit court alleges that William Gardner, the president and CEO of Wisconsin & Southern Railroad Co., skirted campaign donation laws by soliciting employees to give to Scott Walker’s campaign and then reimbursing them, in what amounts to two felony counts. It has also come out that Walker’s campaign then reimbursed Gardner and seven additional railroad employees to the tune of $43,800, which indicates a criminal probe is imminent of Walker's Campaign.
The Wisconsin State Journal reports:
I guess when you have no real plan for the state of Wisconsin and the citizens of the state know it; all you can do it chase your tail and "hope" something comes from these political attacks and bogus investigations. While the left pursues a smear campaign, the right is pursuing policies that help all citizens of Wisconsin and the nation. Barrett talking: woof woof woof. chase your tail little buddy.
Why would wlker be chasing his tail?
Walker is gone - one way or the other.
Republican Robber Baron Organized Crime has had its day and they are on their way into oblivion.
Keep selecting against your own survival by supporting them. Brilliant !
Walker is gone - one way or the other.
Can you elaborate on that just a little...
Yes, keep "hoping" for "change" in Wisconsin as citizens rally behind Walker and leave the corrupt unions to keep more of their money in their own pockets. 5 June marks the end of Democrat - Union Leader corruption that rapes tax payers and fails to fund pensions in favor of leftist Political Action Committees (PACs).
Tell that to the 13,000 Milwaukee crime victims whose incidents were mis-reported (whoops) as "non-violent" under Barrett's watch, including a pregnant woman who was stabbed and an infant that was beaten.
It's amazing how low some people will stoop to get violent crime statistics to "drop."
Voting for a snake is not voting for your survival.
Republican Lies About Barrett :
http://www.leftyblogs.com/wisconsin/
Yeah that lying Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, damn them:
Sorry but Barrett is a useless waste of flesh who can't even do the job he is already appointed to. WI doesn't reward those who fail at running cities with jobs running the state.
Sending Scott Walker Packing : ( to jail or out of office - either one works )
http://progressive.org/sending_scott_walker_packing.html
Tuesday is the election so I guess we will see won't we? I cast my absentee ballot today. Voted against my survival according to you.
Scott Walker is NOT just some altruistic guy who was trying to balance a state budget. He came in with an agenda to destroy unions. He considers a union employee who's just trying to keep his pension from getting stolen and his job from being outsourced as "the enemy". He has collected something like 31 million $$ for his recall fight, the majority of it from out of state. That's not coming from little old ladies sending him 10 bucks each, people. Apparently sugardaddy billionaires (Koch brothers) are just fine with him but union members are communists in his book. Then you have this woman Diane Hendricks from the "divide and conquer" video. She is worth almost 3 BILLION dollars but yet she is still not happy. What would make her happy? To see the chance for a middle class lifestyle taken away from most of the public by getting rid of all unions, public and private. These people are not friends of the American middle class in my opinion.
It is really hard for Scott to sit there and take that...cowering like a beaten dog trying to defend himself. Not his demeanor, and Barrett's.....No contest.
What a laugh...Bill Clinton just stuck it to Obama in Wisconsin when he said that Mitt Romney has a "sterling" business record and that coupled with being an ex-Governor are great credentials to be President. Couldn't get better than that. Guess Bill is getting even with Obama for calling him a racist during Hillary's campaign. Why isn't Obama supporting you guys in Wisconsin....he flew right over your state today and was in MN and ILL. How much closer could he have gotten. He is distancing himself from all of you...he didn't want you to do a recall in the first place. Retribution time!!
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/06/01/clinton-urges-democrats-to-vote-out-wisconsin-gov-walker/
Clinton urges Democrats to Vote out Walker :
Former President Bill Clinton urged Wisconsin Democrats to vote against Gov. Scott Walker in Tuesday's recall election, saying the Republican has governed without compromise or honest negotiation.
Clinton rallied voters Friday in Milwaukee, a Democratic stronghold and home of Walker's challenger, Democratic Mayor Tom Barrett. The former president was the latest in a string of high-profile Democrats who have campaigned on Barrett's behalf in recent days.
Why isn't Obama supporting you guys in Wisconsin
Wisconsin????????? There's something going on in Wisconsin????
Wisconsin....that's a flyover state right??????
Hope, you diminish any resemblance of an argument by citing left-wing propoganda - hoping that anyone will just open it up and read.
Bottom line is the budget deficit is back to normal and the unemployment rate in Wisconsin is going down.
Deep down it must really eat you up to know that the states and cities doing best in this troubling economy are the fiscal conservatives. I didn't say social, I said fiscal (before you line up your next idiotic article).
My post up above was from Fox News refuting the lies that Rufus posted above that.
You always complain about our sources duck. So now you are angry with your puppet masters at Fux Noise ?
Wow. You have to stop eating your crayons dude.
And how much did walker steal to get the budget back to normal? He took stimulas money and put it in his budget. He took the court awarded morgage fraud fines and put in in his budget. But hey, the budgets doing fine. The homeowners got screwed, but then they don't count for anything, right.
Brown (D) in California did exactly the same thing Walker did and he still has a 16 Billion deficit. I guess that based on your definition Brown is a thief also.
Where is Barretts plan to create jobs and improve the economy?
He kept saying,
"I'll bring everyone to the table so we can talk."
"I'll bring everyone to the table so we can talk."
"I'll bring everyone to the table so we can talk."
Okay, what's next....? LOL! Oh snap! Gov. Brown (D) did the same thing in California.
Tell us what a crook he is too! We're waiting. Hate to think you're a hypocrite lefties.
What Hope Left out
What Else President Clinton said:
To be Fair and Balanced
Bill Clinton criticizes Obama's Bain attacks, praises Romney's 'sterling business career'
Former President Bill Clinton suggested in a television interview Thursday that he believes President Barack Obama's re-election campaign should stop trashing Mitt Romney's work in the private equity industry.
In an interview with CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight," Clinton, a top Obama surrogate who is set to raise cash with the president next week, directly contradicted Democrats who have attacked Romney's business record, suggesting it does qualify him for president.
"I think he had a good business career," Clinton told guest host Harvey Weinstein, a movie mogul who is one of Obama's top fundraisers. "There's no question that in terms of getting up and going to the office and, you know, basically performing the essential functions of the office, a man who has been governor and had a sterling business career crosses the qualification threshold."
Adding that he has "friends" in the private equity business, Clinton suggested it was dangerous for Democrats to go after Romney's record at Bain Capital—adding that in private equity, "like anything else you try, you don't always succeed" in saving companies or making them more productive.
"I don't think that we ought to get into the position where we say this is bad work," Clinton said. "This is good work."
Hope
If you make decisions based on what you read on LezzyGirl.com That's alright with me since you're one of about 20 million that are forced into liberalism because they're loaded with LezzyGirl.co "facts"
And he's riht it's good work that doesn't qualify you to be president. Notice that's what Romney is saying and that not even republicans like Santorum, Gingrich, and Perry are saying it's true.
Logic sucks I know. Never has Obama alleged private equity is illegal or imoral as Romney and liars like you claim. But that's what you have to do since you know you can't make the case that working solely for his own benefit and creating personal wealth for himself and his investors no matter what the cost to the people who actually worked for the company means you know how to get america moving. So when you have no defense against the fact being president isn't about being in it for yourself and Romney has never been in it for you, you have to make a false narrative that there is an attack on business and commerce as if Romney represents all these things.
From desperate baloney to pious baloney. Wash it down with a tall glass of shut up juice.
And don't discuss spending, don't discuss Obama save for any instances where he has said private equitty should be illegal(have fun with that since he hasn't), don't talk about congress. Make your case no bs thanks. I know that will be hard for you with out bringing in a distraction.
What was President Obamas qualifications when he first ran?
What was President Obamas experience when he first ran?
What had President Obama ran other then this country economically further into the ground?

At least Obama did bankrupt 4 companies. GWB did. And tried the same crap on the US.
You mean Obama did not. The way that the righty's brag about Regan and the Bush's and no Romney is such a joke. IF their kind of business acumen is what qualifies them to lead our country we are screwed !
Tell me how GWB bankrupted four companies. This oughta be good too. Please enlighten us. I know he bought an oil company that later went bankrupt, which is not uncommon for new start-ups. Then again, tell us what business ventures Obama took on before becoming President. LOL!!! Liberal logic = you can't fail if you never play the game. HAHA

Several researchers have investigated the business history of the Bush family. The facts that they have uncovered are not very pretty. The business record of George W. Bush holds some revealing insights to how his presidency has operated, and helps to explain why the country has fallen so deeply in debt and has so many other problems.
Bush is the only person to not be able to find oil in the Middle East.
I'm sure that statement means something to the peanut gallery....
Which, apparently, is you.
Wow thought Walker's weapon was his economic success.........no surprise he's out spent Barrett like 10-1 and has never risen to any substancial lead in the poles. Win or lose Scott Walker is an idiot, the Koch brothers should have picked someone smart to be his first domino.
Provide us the link to your source that backs up your claim of a 10-1 spending difference. Should be easy, right?
Gov. Walker's Out Of State Fundraising :
http://www.scrippsnews.com/content/wis-gov-walker-gets-huge-donations-out-state
http://www.thedailypage.com/daily/article.php?article=36643
State and national unions have poured millions of dollars into creating, staffing and funding two front groups - We Are Wisconsin and Wisconsin for Falk.
The first group spent nearly $10.8 million helping Democrats in last year's summer recall races and more than $2 million more this year, and the second organization paid out about $4 million in a failed effort to help former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk win the Democratic nomination.
National groups, such as the Democratic Governors Association, have pumped cash from around the country into Wisconsin. Democratics have funneled about $2 million to local groups for ad buys and polling.
Barrett's campaign manager, Jay Howser, is from Pennsylvania and has run election efforts in Ohio, Indiana and Louisiana.
According to the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign analysis, Walker raised only 7% of his funds in the 2010 contest from outside the state's borders. Even for a major-party gubernatorial candidate, this was a small percentage.
Walker's primary opponent that year, former U.S. Rep. Mark Neumann, gathered nearly 24% of his funds from out-of-state donors, as had Democratic Gov. Jim Doyle in the 2006 race.
Falk - the favorite of state and national unions - received about 40% of her campaign cash from national groups and out-of-state individuals, some of it raised at fundraisers in Chicago and Washington, D.C., and the percentage was even higher for Secretary of State Doug La Follette.
What's not clear is whether the national and state unions and other Democratic groups will continue to put money into the race. Recent polls show Barrett trailing Walker, who holds a huge financial advantage. Barrett has raised only 12% of his funds from outside Wisconsin, but Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel hosted a major fundraiser for Barrett in March, just days before the mayor became a recall candidate.
He said he expects the Democratic National Committee and President Barack Obama's campaign to provide staff to help with the voter turnout effort for Barrett before the June 5 election. DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz also announced she will host a May 30 fundraiser for Barrett.
But what about the unions?
Clearly, Barrett was not their candidate. Top officials with public employee unions tried to discourage him from running for office late last year, a move that eventually backfired.
Since being embarrassed in the primary, the public employee unions have been keeping a low profile. Top officials with the Wisconsin Education Association Council and other labor groups did recently sit for a private powwow with Barrett.
"Union special interests throughout the country have made recalling Gov. Walker their number one priority, and the Greater Wisconsin Committee is a clearinghouse for the big union contributions that have been funding this liberal recall effort," state Republican Party spokesman Ben Sparks said Friday.
In a fundraising letter sent out Monday, Walker wrote that the labor groups have "got revenge on their minds. It's power they seek. And they'll spend upwards of $40 million to get their way."
That's even more money than Walker has vacuumed up for the race.
Jason Stein of the Journal Sentinel staff contributed to this report from Madison.

Rant :
thesaurus for rant:
bitch complain angry vent anger molly rant ranting blog rage rave tirade diatribe molly bitching outburst cnet crazy mollyrant passive aggressive rambling more...
To suddenly give a long speech that usually results in rambling and repeating of nonsence.
I shall now tell you how awful rants are, they are the bain of humans. If rants were plentiful humans would become extinct! Extinct I say!! Humans also need to pick cherries with automated cherry pickers as this results in more plentiful harvests resulting in more people whos brains have been nourished by cherries and intelligent cherry nourished people are less likely to rant than those raised on blueberry farms, because they are subjected to blueberry fumes, and they are toxic, like non-toxic glue. Made of horse hooves. Horses can also help prevent rants as you cannot rant while riding a horse and you can't ride a horse if there aren't horses because they have all been made into non-toxic glue. Do you understand rants now?
Thanks for providing an example of rant above in your post. At least you're good for something on this blog.

Support Workers' Rights! Right to work laws protect workers from the abuses of powerful unions such as forcing workers to join unions, accept union representation
during negotiations and pay dues even when they aren't members.
Right to work laws lead to higher wages, create jobs by attracting businesses,
improve union accountability, and are morally right because they stop people
from having to support a cause in which they do not believe.
And take away wages and benifits. RTW is the biggest worker rip off know to man. What right to work laws have let to higher wages. Without losing their benifits? Just more rightie tightie talking points. I see so many sources, I can't believe my eyes.
Just like you couldn't believe your eyes that the word "news" is mentioned on the MSNBC webpage, which I had to show you?

Romney Lies While Democracy Dies !
Can you provide some examples? Didn't think so. Just more lame BS from Hopeless4Ever. LMAO!!
Did you see the ad on MSNBC, "Win a Night in New York City with the Obama's and Sarah Jessica Parker"? Nothing like our President "pimping" the Executive Office for votes. The Campaigner in Chief has zero class and respect for the office, which is reflected by his followers on this blog. Pathetic to the end.

Still a RED NECK Republican.
Right on homey the clown.
But the big picture isn't lost on many Wisconsinites: By cutting spending, limiting property tax hikes and freeing local governments from some personnel costs, officials could trim spending without trashing services. In fact, the savings have let governments avoidcuts they otherwise would have had to impose.
The Journal Sentinel analysis explored the impact of Walker-driven changes in the Milwaukee suburb of Brown Deer: The local school district is saving $1 million in pension contributions, health plan adjustments such as increased co-pays, and changes in the workday. "We had many teachers tell us, let's save everybody's job," said Brown Deer Superintendent Deb Kerr. "We didn't cut programs. We didn't raise class sizes. And we maintained our level of staffing."
Those positive effects help explain why Barrett, in his attacks on Walker, doesn't dwell on collective bargaining — the issue that energized those 2011 Capitol protests.
Other impacts of Act 10 undermine not just labor's warning that services would suffer, but also the sheer size of its membership: Eliminating automatic collection of union dues exposed the willingness of many workers to quit organized labor. The Wall Street Journal reports that public unions have had stark drops in membership — of more than half for the second-largest, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees. Membership in the AFSCME council representing state workers has plunged by two-thirds, from 22,300 to 7,100. And the American Federation of Teachers has lost 6,000 of its 17,000 members.
Oh, and that projected $3.6 billion state deficit? Wisconsin now expects a surplus of $150 million at the end of the biennium.
Federal government confirms Gov. Scott Walker's job-growth data
When Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker announced job growth of over 23,000 jobs in 2011, recall challenger Tom Barrett accused him of lying and "cooking the books."
The Ap reports that the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has confirmed Walker's numbers.
WHY DIDN'T ED SCHULZ REPORT THIS????
scott walker campaigned on 250,000 jobs and 10,000 business during his first 4 years of gov.
but he has been too busy fighting criminal charges, and trying to divide and conquer to create jobs.
face it, watson, 23,000 jobs, if indeed that is true, is ANEMIC job growth, but i suppose its better than the job losses he has been used to.
why don't you all do some research on the "communist" countries of today and find out what they have in common with lenin, stalin and scott walker and the repub party?
they all want to abolish, or they all abolish unions.
i would think you would see the connection.
President Obama ran on cutting the National debt in half in his first term
Obama said he deserved a second term despite having said in a 2009 interview before the Super Bowl that, if the economy hadn't recovered by now, his presidency would be a "one-term proposition."
President Obama didn't know that the repubs were holding a meeting during his inauguration, where they PLEDGED to each other to say "NO" to every economic policy the President proposed.
President Obama isn't the only one elected to office. the american people trust that ALL ELECTED will do their part to move the country forward, including the repubs. President Obama tried to compromise for the first two years of his presidency. he realized too late that the repubs weren't interested in working with him.
the american people know that the repubs are to blame for the slow recovery. the repub/baggers are also blamed for the debt ceiling debacle and the lowering of our credit.
they know the only way they can win this election is to steal it, that's why they are suppressing voters.
i am ashamed of the repub/bagger party.
ALEC helped pioneer some of the toughest sentencing laws on the books today, “truth in sentencing” laws. In 1995 alone, ALEC’s Truth in Sentencing Act was signed into law in twenty-five states. (Then State Rep. Scott Walker was an ALEC member when he sponsored Wisconsin’s truth-in-sentencing laws and, according to PR Watch, used its statistics to make the case for the law.) This forced Wisconsin to build new or rebuild 71 county jails 71 courthouses and dozens of prisons. This also forced Wisconsin to build or remodel 238 police stations. This also forced Wisconsin to buy or lease several hundred halfway houses etc. This also forced Wisconsin into hiring some 30,000 plus public sector workers to work at these places. Every time Scott walker says he is for small government and talks about the budget. remember who caused the budget problems and huge government in Wisconsin. He is for small government like George Bush was. He hires millions in the name of Homeland security. Vote Conservative and for small government. Vote out Scott Walker. Can we afford his tax and waste ideals and huge government? If not for Walker and Alec Wisconsin would have tens of billions in surplus. We could get tax refunds again. Lets blame the real reason for budget problems. “Scott Walker”.
As we all know this ended liberty and justice for all in Wisconsin. It has made our justice systems get rich quick schemes.
Walker wants to make history. The first Wisconsin governor to serve federal time. He lied to congress, the Milwakee federal judge namedd a dozen crimes by walker as Milwaukee county executive in the firing of the guards. Walker has a federal protection rackeet clled the GOP US attorneys in the federal DOJ> John Vaudruel is the ringleader. If not Walker would have been arrest Jan 2011 like any other criminal.
.... and then you woke up from your liberal wet dreams and had to face reality and find a job. LOL!
The Recall On Walker was a good move from the people of Wisconsin but looking the vote statistic now look like walker is ahead on his opponent ??? what hell you people thinking still vote for walker?? god help us all hope we never get invaded
President Obama has PROVEN that fundraisers are more IMPORTANT then the people of Wisconsin 3 FUNDRAISERS in Minnesota then flies OVER Wisconsin to ATTEND 3 FUNDRAISERS in Illinois Once again President Clinton has shown President Obama that he is a President in Training
When candidate Obama was campaigning in South Carolina in 2007, he said he was proud to wear the “union label” and that if workers were denied rights to organize or collectively bargain when he was elected, “I'll put on a comfortable pair of shoes myself, I'll will walk on that picket line with you as president of the United States of America.”
But as the protests over collective bargaining rights drag out in Wisconsin, President Obama has yet to join the demonstrators outside the Capitol building in Madison, and it appears his administration is trying not to get involved in the fight.
Come on Wisconsin get out and vote please do not let Walker defeat you in this recall.Rally together like never before show the Republicans that when you stick together the middle class can kick butt. Talk to your neighbour take your neighbour with you to the poles do not sit back or you will loose this important moment for your rights. VOTE HIM OUT
