Actually he was agreeing with my point that the chart itself was about as ambiguous as you can get. It doesn't present facts. It presents years and brightly colored lines. What is the unit of measurement for each income level? Are they going by increments of hundreds? Thousands? Tens of thousands? Is the chart measuring income in US dollars? Euros? Pesos? And how do you compare an hourly rate to a dollar amount in the same chart? It should be at leas two different graphs with complete units on the vertical axis to go with the horizontal axis and I want to know what formulas were used to plot each data point so they can be independently confirmed.

These are not facts and this is not a chart. It is a colorful scribble used to suck in people that never bothered to learn the difference.

How many "union plants" are gated now thanks to the unions strong arming unrealistic contracts through? They get paid well, just not many union shops now. My Father was a non-union steel fabrication worker for over 50 years. I grew up hearing my Conservative Dad say that the plant owners were buying steel from Japan because their management was greedy and wanted to steal from steel manufacturers to line only their pockets but, never shared with the shop employees this "discount". His plant was not the only one who operated this way nor closed down around here. The steel fabrication shop that my Dad worked for so many years was also gated for a few years and is now owned by a very large garbage collection company and recycler that's been around for many years in our area bought the building....there will always be garbage.

My Father and the other shop workers had to hire an attorney after the owners made the company go bankrupt and tried to take the employees contributions to their pensions. After it was settled, my Dad got his money back that he worked for and paid out of his hard earned check, less the attorney's fee which he gladly paid, and that's all. Had consultants and management making financial decisions looked out for the employees who made the money that management used for their entitled attitude that others should keep them "in the manner they felt they should be accustomed to", my Dad would have had more than $4 million to retire on and invest as he saw fit to increase his wealth. He started that job at $2.00 an hour...before any benefits and profit sharing were offered.

BTW, office management matched their pension contributions dollar for dollar while the shop personnel matching funds was 25 cents to every dollar they contributed. It's good to be the "kings", huh. Management filed for bankruptcy after showering themselves with unearned perks from a company that was solvent with $2 million in the bank at the time of the founder's death. Management made sure that they took their pensions while leaving the shop employees to fend for themselves.

Demonizing of unions by management is a cover-up for their bad ethics and politicians trying to make hay.

Who's having the last laugh? There sure wasn't any union involved. It sure wasn't my Dad. It sure isn't Obama now.

Unions didn't push the extinction of automakers. Automaker CEO's had the last laugh for years when they over compensated themselves....I don't find it particularly funny, "funny" boy. Your mouth seems to be incapable of spreading any thing but garbage on Newsvine too.

Even funnier is you bought a fairy tale a demented insane old fool told you, if you gave wealthy tax cuts they would create jobs when facts were it just gave the wealthy more wealth and gave you the bill. There is often a lot of discussion about tax cuts for the "wealthy" who ever they are. And there seems to be an assumption in all of these posts that if there had not been the "Bush tax cuts" or that if marginal rates were increased at the top bracket, that somehow "things" would be different. The question is different how? Would there have been no recession or what? If the assumption is that Congress would not have spent the "increased" revenue, good luck with that. If what is being proposed is that revenue is to be increased ( which can be accomplised essentially only in two ways, increase marginal rates and/or reduce deductions or offsets to gross income) and those increased funds are captured and targeted for debt reduction or social security or whatever, then fine I would be willing (but not happy) to pay more. But without some ability to protect those funds from Congress spending them on whatever pet projects they have, then increasing revenue does not accomplish anything.

Meaningless double talk that has been shown to be a failure and only produces high unemployment, deficits and busted economies. That is the GOP legacy. No matter how much you dress up a pig at the end of dressing up pigs all you got are a bunch of angry pigs.
