What people need to do is go to their registrar and verify they are in fact on the roll. What some voters don't realize is that if they MISS a couple of trips to the polls the county registrars can remove them. If the Republican party makes a CLAIM that they sent voter material and it was returned they can submit an affidavit and have your name removed. Republicans did that to me in California several years ago, but I crossed them up and checked. Showed my driver's license and birth certificate at the registrar's office and was re-instated.

My husband served this country in the air force and clearly had no criminal record. We were average citizens with a house, a pool, and children. We worked hard. As a protest, just because of the Lewinsky affair with Clinton, I had registered Republican, though I never voted that way. My husband remained a Democrat. As usual, we went to the polls together to vote. I voted for Gore, my husband was not able to vote. They found a "problem" with his registration. There was no problem at all, as he has always voted and is a college graduate who knew well how to register. Nevertheless, he was one of the many Democrats not allowed to vote in the 2000 election. I'd have been the second had I not been registered GOP due to my silly protest!!! I reregistered as soon as possible, back to Democrat.
