What they are doing in Pennsylvania with struggling school districts seems much like what they have done in Michigan under the emergency financial manager law. Repubs tried this last summer in a few other states and it didn't work. Now they are giving it another try. Shame on these Repubs for demonizing teachers and the teachers' union.

Republicans don’t seem to have a problem with athletes, actors and entertainers being paid millions of dollars, but not teachers, police or firefighters. A teacher, police officer or firefighter, will not likely take home a million dollars over their entire career. But there seems to be no disdain for paying someone who may not even have a college degree, millions of dollars per year, per game, per movie.
In PA our governor decreased the education budget and increased the prison budget. We subsidized the construction of sports stadiums, and in Philadelphia, pay for their operation and maintenance, while our schools fall apart. We took revenue from these stadiums from the taxpayers and gave that revenue to team owners… Why? Until America invests in its most valuable resource, its children, the greedy will continue to steal from the needy.
