U.S. Rep. Mike Coffman (R-Colorado) is usually (like many politicians) a big talker. But these days, when he's not hiding, he sounds more like a robot or the Coneheads of Saturday Night Live or a prisoner of war reeling off his name, rank and serial number.
That's probably because he's facing continued fallout from his May 12 comments about President Obama, prompted by a "birther" question at a fundraiser in conservative Elbert County.
"I don't know whether Barack Obama was born in the United States of America. I don't know that," Coffman said. "But I do know this, that in his heart, he's not an American. He's just not an American."
A supporter recorded Coffman’s statement, which prompted Coffman's written apology four days later (May 16).
"I misspoke and I apologize," the statement began. "I have confidence in President Obama's citizenship and legitimacy as President of the United States."
He also tried to clarify the intent of his comments with a classic "I'm sorry, but I'm not sorry" attack line.
"I don’t believe the president shares my belief in American Exceptionalism. His policies reflect a philosophy that America is but one nation among many equals."
For the next week, Coffman refused requests for interviews and stayed out of sight. But KUSA-TV's 9NEWS reporter Kyle Clark caught up with him outside a closed-door fundraiser last night to see if he would elaborate.
But Coffman would not elaborate. Instead, he invoked his statement five times this amazing exchange:
CLARK: After your comments about the President, do you feel voters are owed a better explanation than just, I misspoke?
REP. COFFMAN: I think that... Umm... I stand by my statement that I misspoke and I apologize.
CLARK: OK. And who were you apologizing to?
REP. COFFMAN: You know, I stand by my statement that I misspoke and I apologize.
CLARK: I apologize, we talk to you all the time, you're a very forthcoming guy. Who's telling you not to talk and to handle it like this?
REP. COFFMAN: I stand by my statement, that I wrote, that you have, and I misspoke and I apologize.
CLARK: Was it that you thought it would go over well in Elbert County where folks are very conservative and you'd never say something like that in the suburbs?
REP. COFFMAN: I stand by my statement that I misspoke and I apologize.
CLARK: Is there anything I can ask you that you'll answer differently?
REP. COFFMAN: You know, I stand by my statement that I misspoke and I apologize.
CLARK: Thank you, congressman.
REP. COFFMAN: Thank you.
Coffman represents Colorado's 6th Congressional District, which was redrawn from an overwhelmingly conservative district to one evenly divided among Republicans, Democrats and unaffiliated voters. He faces Democrat Joe Miklosi in November.
Ed will go deeper on the birther issue tonight on The Ed Show at 8pET on MSNBC!

I think either Ed or his producers are doing more to promote the birther issue at this point then anyone else. Did you ever think the issue won't die because you keep giving press to things like this?
Hey jonny-Girl = It IS "NOT" "ED" That Constantly Brings This UP = It IS The Goofballs Of The Tea-baggin-gop-neo-CON-NAZI's - That Continue To Bring This Subject UP !!! Thats WHY !!!!! Over-andOver-andOver = Just What IS The Definition OF INSANITY ?????????
YEAH = Birtherism - MAY Hide = BUTT - It Just WONT DIE = Kinda Like Racism - What Do You Think ??????
MD/MI, I so agree with you on this one. Hate all over this world for one group or another has mushroomed. Were we only fooling our selves that we as people could get past our differences and be better people. Hate is a waste of life !
Note to Birthers : Our President has shown proof of his birth. It is your turn to show proof of having a conscience, a soul and a spine. We won't be holding our breath while you do that.
I suspect John may be right on this issue. The only time I even hear anything about it anymore is when it is a slow news day or there is negative news for the economy / Team Obama. Then Ed pulls it out of his hat and diverts attention.
Dream On = Pyuke !!!
Rusty doesn't listen to the news. The AZ issue has been on but Rusty must ignore news. If AZ hadn't brought it up, the news wouldn't use it. Maybe he should start talking about the idiots that try making it an issue. And that isn't the media.
( PS ) Rusty dear. You must be getting your news from the cartoon channel. I work from home because I am partially disabled and I watch a lot of news, especially on MSNBC, but also on CNN and others. This story was being discussed by at least 5 different Newscasters today. Ed did not just pull this out of his hat. But I suppose it would be a lot more fun to watch cartoons than be connected to reality. Make up your mind though. You have to either watch cartoons or watch the truth. And Faux Noise qualifies as cartoons dear.
Go get 'em MD/MI and Larry !
John-3232336-
You're right, John. Ed invented the birther issue. The Republicans are just the victims.
Boo Hoo. Poor Republicans.
Hope~ Arizona guy that wanted proof from Hawaii finally got it today and had to back down and say he was satisfied Obama is an American. Those idiots are so ridiculous! They never give up. Did Trump ever send his lackeys over there to find out the "truth"? LOL
john and rusty,
you all love to do this. blame the democrats for what the repubs started.
case(s) in point: the individual mandate-blame the president for a repub idea. the dream act-blame the democrats for a repub idea. the debt and deficit-from nixon on, the repubs have been responsible for MOST of the debt, blame President Obama for all of the debt when he is paying off bush's credit card. the only time repubs complain about the debt and spending is when a democrat holds the office of the presidency. the repubs LOVED every spending bill that bush wanted. we heard nothing from the baggers until President Obama took office.
what pissed you off so much immediately after President Obama took office? i think you all didn't want a black man in "charge of the checkbook", as the repub baggers repeated over and over.
you all will sling anything at this president.
why don't you just admit it.
you like this attack on the president because you are birthers, and you agree with the attacks.
Wow- surprise- she gets most of her news from MSNBC and says that I'm missing the news...
Hey- since I have the attention of numerous liberals, maybe I can get an opinion from them. Lord knows, I've tried on other blogs- but each time I ask, it just sort of dries up the conversation. But with Larry, Suzette, MGB, Chris- all those libs who are deep of thought- Why did the Obama budget proposal fail the House by a 414-0 vote and the Senate by a 99-0 vote? Is it because the Democrats now realize he is clueless as well? I mean, he couldn't even get one vote from the two Senators in Maine...
I can't wait to hear the spin on this...
Hay John, it was the Repr. from Colorado, Mr Hoffman, shooting off his mouth again about Obama not being a citizen. He got caught and try to back track his comments, but the reporter got him good. Said he going to stand by his remarks, he took the fifth, and ran off. This coming from a Elected Congressman, No wonder we are in this mess left by Bush Admins., if this is what we have representing us in Congress. Sorry excuse for a Congressman, I am glad he not ours, we have one just like him, question--Do you guys ever tell the truth!!! I doubt it!!!*********** JACK ASP!!!
Yes and instead of ignoring the moron that said it, it keeps snowballing and bringing press to the issue that feeds others who won't let it go. How hard is it to say "okay that guy is delusional, we put this to bed" and let go? The more press you give it, the more people will cling to it to get that press. Why is that hard for some of you to grasp? I would like to think Ed himself is at least savvy enough to understand that the more you call attention to this, the more you rally the half-wits that believe it. Why is it so hard to let them fade into obscurity where they belong?
Unless, of course, he won't let it go himself because he needs those crazies to rationalize his own views. Ignore the fringe and you have to admit there can be rational people besides the democrats. Do that and your ratings fall. Silly me, he does it to promote himself. My mistake. I forget he was the liberal answer to Limbaugh. Say anything that will excite the fans and get more ratings.
listen, john,
anyone who is ignorant enough to say that our president "in his heart" is not american, and anyone who says that they don't know if our president was born in the united states, but they "hope he was" deserves every bit of scrutiny and bad press that comes his way.
he ignorantly thought that pandering to his base in this way would get him votes. now that he is getting all this bad press, he regrets what he said, and wants it to go away because he looks like an old fool.
i doubt if he is promoting himself.
HE WANTS US TO IGNORE HIM, AND SO DOES THE REPUB PARTY. this is precisely the reason why we should not.
no matter how much the press hounds him about his ignorantly stupid remark, it will never measure up to how the repubs hounded our President about his birth certificate.
and coffman is just another example of that.
Hi Suzette, kind of like the 26 % of Democrats who think Bush planned and pepertrated 9/11.
he did use 9/11 as an excuse to fight an illegal war, taking 4500 troops as collaterol damage.
Suzette, have you ever heard the expression "There is no such thing as bad press?" Calling attention to this doesn't create scrutiny to make it go away, it attracts the attention of other idiots and gives them someone to rally around. The worst thing for a politician, any politician, is apathy and obscurity. Why would you put his words on the air where they CAN pander to his base? The more you talk about him, the more airtime he gets to reach out to his people by association.
Suzette- I hope this satisfies you: I think that Obama is 100% Amercan. IU just have the same opinion of his economic budget plan as every Democrat in Congress. 414-0 and 99-0 means that I happen to agree with every Democrat in office on at least one thing- Obama is clueless on the budget.
Mike Coffman didn't know what to say
When he spoke to a reporter today...
He can't say, Barack's true
To the Red, White and Blue -
He'd prefer that it all go away...
Coffman thinks America is exceptional -
Other nations should bow to the professional
Military superiority,
And admit inferiority...
This bully should reside in a confessional...
David , Your words say it all. Is this what Republican politicians have became? Pledge signers, propaganda makers, obstructionists, and they do not work for the American people any more. We are at a critical point here and if many in this nation do not in gage and vote all they hold dear will slip into the obis.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_W._Romney == Where ?
Reason for Coffmans Foot in his Mouth is because it's a normal way of them bashing this President so when I see or hear them bashing it reminds me of a Child caught taking something that is'nt there's he needs to learn to think before he talks which the repub seem to not think there not responisable for there words there small child must give them lessons sounds that way I would Say this how about showing your birth Certifcate it's only fair are you American
i agree with you john to point. if the news media didn't keep this stuff out there then we wouldn't know what these wing-nuts are really doing and saying, then we wouldn't know they were doing it
U-Kraizey !!!!
Obama was born in the USA
He is the President, so hey
Give us a reason,
for your continued treason
and lets move on. OK?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_W._Romney
wwooops ! placed it twice !!! sorra !!!!^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Billie--this has to stay in the news, its the only way we know what they are doing behind our backs. Mr Coffman foot must taste good to him, he has had it in there quite often. He is a sorry excuse for a Congressman, hay people, this is your man in Congress, what the help were you thinking. Stop drinking the dam tea and wake up people. Maybe Mr Coffman Birth Certificate should be checked to make sure he is what he says he is, a all out birther, lier, and worst a republican who doesn't care, about you or me. Come November, send him packing to unemployment, and Food Stamps, and NO Health CARE!!! What a joke!!!*****************
It is now long overdue, President should be able to suit people, like all citizens can, for harrassment or so. In America, as we all have seen since President Obama took office, racism is very much alive, and now is the time to stop that. Let us make some laws to help our President.
Mr. Coffman seems like hes being held hostage and only permitted to say the same words over and over again. When politicians are for better word under gag order to not answer questions from the press we have a monster of epic proportion. How many politicians are being controlled and by who ? They have doubled down on there hateful rhetoric and if any politician will let himself be used this way he needs to get out.
He might as well have just pleaded the fifth. You would have gotten more information out of him! LOL
He's to be voted out of office dumb a@s redneck.
I love the way Hawaii handled this in effect asking "Are you a nutcase get the bleep out of my face and I ain't sending you S**t I Love it
Paraphrasing the message of course Bill but Right On Hawaii !!
One definition of "misspoke" is this: "To speak mistakenly, inappropriately, or rashly." I would say that Coffman's statement that "Obama is not an American" would fall under the latter two. It could, alternatively, simply be put under pandering to an extremist audience.
Not defending Coffman. I suppose that a a conservative fundraiser, he thought he was safe to say this. That it might have been received approvingly by that audience. (And it likely did get a positive response from at least some.)
Looking over Coffman's voting record, I'd have to say that he is the sort of legislator who puts Party over the good of the nation, and, as such, is not much of an American. Certainly, not the sort of responsible American who should hold office.
A Republican? Pandering to an extremist audience? No!
Mr. Coffman was an complete idiot when I lived in Colorado several years ago and little has changed in the interim. Bottom line up front: Birtherism is racism. The reason "birthers" persist is that many white conservatives can not tolerate a black man as president. More than a few of these "birthers" are racist. Say anything you like about it, the truth is for many individuals in the these birther groups can not tolerate blacks in positions of authority. I am dumbfounded by this situation. Because, in the military, we are fully integrated with women and minorities leading white males all the time. What matters is not the color of someone's skin or gender but their character and competence to do the job and lead people. Why are so many people in the GOP so backwards and ignorant about race relations? The armed forces of America are way ahead of the Republican party on race relations. We should not even be talking about this today. We should be talking about how to build up our country's economy from the onslaught of the BRIC's and high energy prices.
The GOP is a making a huge error. In the 21st century a very strong majority of the young people in college and technical school are living in a mostly post-racial society. Black men date white women. Black women date white men. Many of these relationships are intimate. The young people seem very open and tolerant of gay people as well. These young college age people are really angry at the GOP's 1200 antiabortion laws and anti-Planned Parenthood, anti-birth control programs. These young college age people loath the conservative's anti-gay, anti-women, anti-black agenda of bullying. Its too bad that old bullheaded baby boomers who have failed to adjust to the present are trying to bring back the ignorance of the past. The GOP is living in the 1950's while the rest of America moves on into the second decade of the 21st century.
Sorry Rex It is only the far extremist right wing baby boomer that is anti gay, anti women, racist and just plain stupid. Remember us boomers who lived in the summer of love. We were all inclusive before the rest of you even knew what that meant and for the majority of you before you were even born. Don't be picking on you freinds
Does this guy have the same political coach as Herman Cain ?
Remember whatever they ask answer - "I think that... Umm... I stand by my statement that I misspoke and I apologize"
Remember what everthey ask answer -Nine-Nine-Nine
Talk about race-baiting Ed. You were all over the Zimmerman case and you didn't even have the facts. They just get in the way. Why haven't you reported the assault of the two Virginan Pilot reporters in Norfolk by a group of six men? The reporters were severely beaten by the "crew" for being in their neighborhood while bystanders looked on without intervening. The bystanders interviewed said they saw it as a race-based assault. Oh didn't I mention that the victims were not black and those perpetrating the assault were black? I guess I answered my own question.
A former conservative, you are now posing as a champion of unions and the downtrodden. Care to disclose what your paycheck is from the unions? I hear they declared it to the Feds as $190,000 last year for "promotional services. If I've heard is wrong, don't hesitate to correct me. Don't have to worry about "fair and balanced" or "the rest of the story" with you. Your movtives are simply self-promotional. You clearly belong in the same camp with Jesse "blackmail" Jackson and Al "Tawana Brawley" Sharpton. You three are all race-baiters inciting class/race warfare and deserve each other Then when things turn violent you all try to walk things back as Al Sharpton did in the Zimmerman case. The sad part is that, even your one-sided and biased rantings aside, you are laughing your way to the bank.....
President Obama should make a deal.First he'll show his birth certificate AGAIN,if Romney will show his last twelve tax returns, ala Donald Trump who welched on the deal.
I cant believe that some people actually believe in all the republican's statements, lies, anybody with any common sense should realize that they are trying to distract us from the real issues, President OBAMA has done a much better job than ol' g bush did,
All anybody has to know is Republicans lie ALL the time. Anytime their lips are moving, they're lying. Whatever they say, you just believe the opposite and you'll be O.K. :)
Mr. Coffman, you thought it was cool
you were caught being a fool.
You proclaim a lie,
there is mud in your eye,
Barry is more Amercian than you!
all i can say is if we want to keep living in a country that is preaching hate, bigotry and racism then vote for the repukes and mutt.,but i am voting for obama and the right to live in dignity, equality and love for my fellow american. VOTE OBAMA 2102
Wow big Eddie is acting all tough tonight....
The only people who are Un American are the rethuglicans, they are doing everything they can to destroy this country and The POTUS
Poor Obama has to deal with people questioning his legitimacy.....
Like ther're aren't Libs still questioning Bush in 2 elections....
Grow up Libs and get a pair....Suck it up....
Why don't you just suck it.
It's hilarious to watch you baggers constantly repeating old BS news. Keep up the good work, it will certainly earn you at least second place finish this November.
President Obama clearly won.
bush did NOT. he was annointed president by his daddy's friends, the supreme court in 2000. the bush campaign wanted the recount to stop, so the repubs in washington sent bus loads of their aids to florida to protest loudly outside the buildings where the recounts were being done. some of the protesters were given high ranking jobs in the bush administration.
in 2004, bush and his buddy karl rove hacked into computers in ohio and stole 90,000 votes from John Kerry.
we did question the bush elections, and we also questioned the sanity of w. bush. under the "umbrella" of christianity, he stole two elections, and started the iraqi war based on a lie, taking 4500 troops as collaterol damage. he also did many other stupid things, and the american people paid a huge price, especially those who paid with injury or their life in iraq.
stupid, stupid, stupid, self-serving, ignorant w. bush.
Yeah- Chris is right- suck it up- way to go Chris!!! That's brilliant on your part. Deep Thoughts!!!! See, I said I would mention it when your game stepped up even a little.
Tex- regarding your comment- I would think it applies to Suzette's comment as well. Don't you? Or are you being one-sided here?
this guy just wanted to get his 15 mins of fame lol
what Coffman did was plead the 5th the republican way
Has John Edwards been found guilty yet?
Its not poor President Obama ..it is the racist republicans who can not deal with a BLACK MAN as President.......wake up people this is a melting pot country you are not the majority any more...check out China who controls the US DOLLARS
Or maybe it's the country who can't deal with a President who can't get a single budget passed in 3 years... That is called incompetance.
President isn't responsible for writting or passing the budget that's called ignorance
it's not like a budget actually makes a difference the congress spends whatever they want and blames their incompetence on whoever's closest they can't be allowed to get away with their incompetence by trying to pass it off on the executive office. If those people can't get their job done without the president baby sitting them then fire all 535 of them.
Well- he may not be responsible for it, but when he does submit a budget, as every President in the recent past has, it sort of puts him on the spot to get it passed.
And yes- Congressional spending often throws a budget into disarray- Reagan discovered that- but he did have a spending blue print to follow.
I would suggest, though, CC- that Obama probably won't be blaming the Republicans for spending too much. I think your argument in this case is bunk. Unless you suggest Obama is blaming the Democrats for too much spending. If so- you would be spot on. Do you want to change the premise of your argument?
I don't care what every president of recent memory has done no president has the legal authority to determine how tax funds are alotted save for those things which involve say national security....but main point is congress is the only branch that is legally supposed to be responsible for how the money raised is spent domestically.
This idea that the president is responsible for spending and not congress will only lead to problems. A more irresponsible and childish congress and a unconstitutionally powerful executive. It was a republican controlled congress that approved all manner of spending choices that were tremendous while lowering taxes. It was a democratic congress which continued some of this but didn't take the spending levels all that much higher and has since kept it rather level level.
The federal government has taken 3 trillion or so to run annually for the past decade and that hasn't changed recently.
The congress is responsible for writting and passing their damn budget that is their job. The president has a job but it isn't the same job. The judiciary has a job....everyone has their job and responsibilty and they can't get that done that is the branch's problem no one else's so they need to be held responsible. The executive's job has never been to write the budget. Never. The president can help a little but the grade goes to congress.
the executive is just that they request congress to provide funds to fully operate programs on the books and congress has the responsibioity to provide operating fund. Most funds are in l;arge blocks giving the authority to actually spend the money to the various cabinet ministers. Congress does not count pencils and wastebaskets. there is much leeway in how funds are actually spent do you really think congress authorized a 800 million party for gaa????
Here's what I don't understand, and I hope that someone could explain: It was my understanding that there is a legal process in place that ensures that anyone who files to run for any political office meets certain legal requirements. It's a very stringent process involving national security, and is not taken lightly. Anyone who runs for the office of president of the United States must provide verifiable proof of citizenship. The process is such as to make it impossible for one to even file to run for office unless meeting those legal requirements (and no, the officials don't just take your word for it). Shouldn't someone give these "birthers" a copy of a 6th grade civics book so that they can understand how the process works?
remember the almighty gops know all not,. they know the bush tax cuts are hurting the economy and loop holes to
This problem was created by Obama.
One of his relatives said he was born in Kenya.
The Obama camp delayed and delayed producing the birth certificate and played
cat and mouse with the media and made this a bigger issue then it needed it to be.
If you are not happy with the birthers you only have the President and his handlers to blame for that.
And if Gore had more of a personality it wouldn't have been an issue. Gore/Lieberman was a weak ticket and it showed.
He has admitted to being a Keynesain
How dumb does someone have to be to not realize the candidates have to release a ton of info to the FEC to even run that includes a birth certificate and since the FEC is a record keeping agency all those records are public domain
If you don't release those things you don't get to run for president. It's the GOP's incompetent leadership and the FOX news talking heads who are responsible for keeping this fictional issue alive. The GOP doesn't have the spine to call out conspiracy. Glenn Beck had a show on their network. So projection. Rove style projection tactic blame the otherside for something they have nothing to do with.
That's why half of the party are birther sympathizers
CC- We'll give you the fact tha tObama is an American. Can you at least be honest and admit that he is economically clueless?
Isn't that the real problem? Obama is hoping that the birth issue stays afloat because that is an issue he can win. As soon as we get past that, he is in trouble. He is then forced to focus on Bain. He loses some / wins some there. If he ever gets cornered on his economy, he will just have to slither off and wait 30 years to become relevant again like Jimmy Carter.
Try to defend Obama's economics plan without words like "Bush", or without pretending like he has no leadership abilities at all by blaming the opposition. Use words like, "cash for clunkers was great because now people have car loans to pay" and "poor people have fewer car options"- And "QEI and QEII means that the biggest buyer of American debt is, well, the American Fed". Or "If our overseas trading partners ever quit buying our debt, we'll crash".
This is the exact distraction I'm talking the right wing leadership and community can't excuse members of congress claiming the president isn't legitimate or isn't an american. It is not an excusable opinion to have out loud if you're a member of congress. Should we be okay if a congress was walking around with swastikas all over the place because the economy isn't great? No it doesn't matter how the economy is this is not excusable behavior at any point.
Again this let congress be be miserable loser attitude because of whatever excuse is n't helping any problem.
Now on the economy tell us what you will do instead. Be sure to remember the debt and economy aren't the same issue, remember intersecting does not mean same. So explain what you would do to create more than four million jobs in four years and how that would happen. Remember taxes have not gone up unless you like tanning and that's about it. So show us what you and Mitt Romney will do differently.
sorry dh the only requirement is age and residence and in the case of the president place of birth. There are no constitutional restrictions on candidates nor can there be. It is up to the voters no one else. Just because a person is elected does not mean however access to secret documents and activities of the cia military etc that is bestowed by the agencies giving security clearance. Only specified members of the house and senate select committees are give that privilege i believe it is 8 in each house. most congress members vote on black op budgets in the dark.
CC the fec exists only to referee campaign expenditures nothing else they have zero ability to vet a candidate just where his money comes from and how is it spent. I know facts are a difficult thing in the face of beliefs so here is their own explanation of their duties.
http://www.fec.gov/about.shtml
TC the stupid idea that someone who was clearly and factually not an american citizen would be allowed to run and become president is just that. Stupid. Play with semantics all you like but if you can't explain how that's possible then it means nothing. Unless you can disprove the central fact of my argument you lose.
Campaign contributions can only be done in a campaign. A campaign requires a candidate who is registered legally
again you are misinformed in your facts. The FEC does not rule on whether a candidate is registered properly they are a new commission and politically appointed. The recent Citizens united has made them obsolete except in cases like John Edwards who may have used funds improperly it is still up to the courts to decide that is why his case is in the court. Anybody can run for anything under our system and it is up to federal courts to decide if they are not citizens if challenged by a person of legal standing.it is possible for non citizens to hold public office in some jurisdictions but not president. As for president all that is required is that the candidate meet state laws. . Obamas presidency can only be questioned in federal court. Each state has it's own requirement to be on the ballot there is no federal test for birthplace just what is in the constitution which has no definition of natural born citizen just the requirement. The states must administer whatever rule it wants. sorry but that's the fact jack.
typo I meant non natural born citizens not non citizens.
the republicans are scared because when Obama gets in his 2nd term some republicans are gonna be looking for a new line of work, and if i were obama i cut all the tax cuts and loop holes and make everyone pay there fair share of taxes. see right there is a prime example how he wants to cut unions and teachers and if you 1% ers like that then our children of the future are in trouble as for the Fire Depts and Police Depts and cut funding to all the hospitals in the united states if romney gets in he bought his way in and i really don't care who i make mad because Romney has no idea what he wants to do. and as for the Keystone pipeline it will not lower the oil prices because all that oil is being exported. if they want to cut spending get our troops home and quit depending on the oil from over seas and defending the oil in saudi arabia also
he needs help and compromise to get things done.
repubs won't work with this president.
Actually, once the election is part- Obama will allow the Keystone project to go through in a very quiet manner. It's already been allowed through a significant portion. The rest will be allowed in a revised path- but not publicised. Oh- and hospitals in my area are struggling mightily at this point. Maybe health care is struggling in your area as well. All because of Romney- oops, the election hasn't happened yet...
brs- I also can't help but to agree with your first line. I think that if Obama gets re-elected, lots of people who now have jobs will be looking for work. Unemployment doesn't discriminate based upon political affiliation...
Birther talk is a great way for the GOP to pander to the people they detest, the ignorant.
coffman is suppose to be educated, intellegent, and he mis-spoke the repubs mis speak frequently
yes he screwed up and told the truth something unheard of in democrat circles now he is paying a price for it.
