As for Obama's college papers and thesis, I am just as confident they still exist, not the type of thing people generally disgard. Nobody takes the dog thing seriously that has always been a rolling joke, it's not suposed to be taken seriously. No one will be so invested in this issue such that they were not vote for him. The story isn't going to impact voters. Once again its always been an intentional joke.
The only legit part of that joke is that it helps the "Romney is weird" narrative. The idea is that most people even back then wouldn't necessarily put a pet on the roof while on the highway and so that Romney "odd" or out of touch. It feeds into the already existing narrative that Romney has no charisma or personality.

I guess the people voting in this poll have never heard of seperation of church and state. The religion of a candidate should not be a an issue, but, if were going to do it.... The Mormon faith is a cult, not a religion. It was created as a an excuse of men that could not afford slaves but had many women that were settling with them. They realized if they married them they would do the lions share of the work around the settlement while the men could collectively start and run business'. The marriage of multiple brides was more convenience than a religious belief. This was explained to me by a VERY practicing Mormon that employed me, he also explained to me that any "good" Latter Day Sainter looking to start a business was eligible for no interest loans. The gentleman that explained it to me is beyond wealthy, not Willard wealthy but wealthy, "as we all are" he explained "good Mormon means great fortune". I hope Romney uses the whole religion attack - It will bode about as well as everything else he has done - total FAILURE. I guess the Mormon "religion" does'nt have a "shall not tell a lie" commandment or rule, OH, that's right, there is no mormon hell: Another handy thing to have in your pretend religion.
