Yes, Repubs are getting desperate because they know President Obama will be reelected. The repubs are not getting that they don't represent America for what it is for. Majority of Americans are not going to vote for them. You have to look into the poors, seniors, middle class, disabled, women, students and not just 1 % rich people.

I really hope that the Obama campaign doesn't stoop to Mormon bashing as some have suggested, and I don't think he will. I believe President Obama is a much better person than that and that he understands this country stands for freedom of religion and freedom to believe as a person sees fit. He also probably understands that there are members of the LDS church who are Democrats and support him... just as I do. Just as Senate Leader Harry Reid does who is LDS (Mormon) and is a very good man.
I would be extremely disappointed if any faction on the Obama side tried to use issues of Robme's religion against him... just as I've been disappointed by some individuals in this site who have tried to spread rumors and falsehoods about the LDS church. But President Obama is a honorable man... and he doesn't stoop to telling lies or using falsehoods to try to gain an advantage.
Even though I'm not an active member of the church any longer, I have been hurt and insulted by those efforts of some in here to spread those lies... just as I am by your suggestion above to go to this site (most likely created by ANTI Mormon factions) to denigrate and lie about things that are considered sacred to church members. I wonder how any of you who are associated with a religion or church would feel about your sacred beliefs being trampled underfoot or lied about. Because that is how I have felt the past few weeks in this site... where I had previously felt welcome.

I thought that we in here were more willing to listen to the truth and to be open to others beliefs without prejudice. Thank you for asking. No... members of the LDS church consider and respect Joseph Smith as the first President and Prophet of the church. But he was only a moral man, not a God as they consider Heavenly Father or Jesus Christ to be.
The members of the church worship God the Father, or as they more often refer to him as Heaven Father as they believe all born on the earth are his spiritual children, and they worship Jesus Christ as their one and only Savior, who gave up his life for the sins of all mankind, so that all may be redeemed and live eternally who believe in him.
They also pray in the name of Jesus Christ as their mediator with the Father. But they do not worship Joseph Smith, nor do they pray to him. He is not considered a mediator nor a savior nor a God whom they are to worship. The same goes for Brigham Young and all of the other Presidents of the church since.

I assume you mean the coke you drink, rather than the type you snort. The church members practice some dietary laws which are meant to promote health and physical wellbeing... and these dietary laws came from a revelation believed to be received by Joseph Smith fairly early in the church's existence.
These dietary laws recommended that church members only consume small portions of meat, and get their primary sustenance from grains and fruits and vegetables. They were also told to avoid drinking hot drinks, which at the time was interpreted as being coffee and tea... and this was due to some unhealthy substances they contained such as caffine. Later when Coca Cola was invented, it was included in the dietary laws as a drink to be avoided. The use of alcohol and tobacco is also prohibited in the dietary laws as unhealthy for consumption.

I don't know who you are referring to "deriding romney for multiple wives", since he doesn't have multiple wives, though his grandfather did. I know that most Evangelicals and other religious bigots have a problem with many aspects of his Mormon religion.... but that is mainly because they choose to believe it's a cult, that it isn't Christian, and many other falsehoods.
As far as John Kerry having 2 wives, they were at different times.... not consecutively. He was married to Julia Thorne in 1970, they had 2 daughters.... and they divorced in 1988, but the Catholic church didn't annul the union until 1997.
Kerry married Teresa Heinz in 1995, which was before the annulment of the Catholic church, but well after the legal divorce awarded by the State. In fact, Kerry was the second marriage of Teresa Heinz also, who was widowed by her first husband, John Heinz, heir to the Heinz fortune.

I think its time to put Mitt on the spot, and have him explain his beliefs and Mormon doctrine when it comes to African Americans, Women and multi-marriages within the Mormon Faith.
