TheGrio.com Managing Editor Joy-Ann Reid, Newsweek's Michelle Cottle, and Democratic strategist Julian Epstein analyze Vice President Biden's fiery speech today that eviscerated Mitt Romney, who may have had trouble telling the truth in his stump speech.
Mitt Romney and the Republicans say there's no such thing as income inequality, President Obama is killing jobs and Democrats suffering from "envy." But Vice President Joe Biden is really letting them have it!
Ed will have that tonight, plus he’ll debunk Romney’s bogus "prairie fire" theories about spending the debt with help from Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH) and this telling chart:

New numbers show independents want the president to crack down on big banks. Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) will discuss the regulations we need to prevent another disaster.
House Speaker John Boehner tees up another debt ceiling showdown. And another establishment candidate falls victim to the Tea Party. Howard Fineman, NBC News Political Analyst and Editorial Director of the Huffington Post Media Group, looks at the rough road ahead for Republican leaders.
President Obama comes out in support of marriage equality, and now some in the African-Amerian community are at odds with his position. Michael Eric Dyson, Professor of Sociology at Georgetown university and author ("Can You Hear Me Now?”), and Sofia Nelson, Contributor for The Grio and award winning author ("Black Woman Redefined: Dispelling Myths and Discovering Fulfillment in the Age of Michelle Obama"), will join Ed to debate the issue.
And in the Big Finish, Gov. Dan Malloy (D-CT) and Randi Weingarten, President of the American Federation of Teachers, will tell us how Connecticut put an end to the Republican war on public education.

Ooh, I like your piercing eyes.
I hope President Obama will offer another bargain to Boehner. Not a Grand Bargain, But a Venti Bargain!! Of course, it will be turned down for not having enough cream on the top.
rommney still the same lier ,
I was listening to the discussion on the auto bailout and i just want to say that I live the small city of wilson nc where Bridgestone/firestone is the largest employer for miles around. This city does not have a lot of well paying jobs and if the auto industry had gone under our city would have been lost as nearly 2500 workers in a city would have lost their jobs. Our city would not have survived this.
Well to understand Mitt Romney you must remember that he is different, he's not like us. You see Mitt doesn't live in America he has immigrated from the parrallel dimension personified by the paintings of Norman Rockwell(think of the movie Pleasantsville with Reese Witherspoon). So isn't used to the reality that most of us see. So in Norman Rockwell's america there is no income inequality. In the Rockwell dimension Russia is our greatest geopolitical foe, trees are always the right height......communists are under every rock and is taking over the world............
Now how did Romney get to this counter earth reality? He's father's success put him there Mitt has never needed to struggle for survival only for further wealth and privelage to uphold the honor and sophistication in his father's legacy. So Mitt has never seen struggle nor hunger or inequity because of this. He can not fundamentally understand the sleezy aspects of this world. He has never been victim of any particularly bad thing so he hasn't seen this and thus beliefs it doesn't exist.
i agree, Cynical.
well said!
Ed, Interesting chart. It appears there was about a 2% reduction in spending from the time Obama took office until now. Now in that same time frame we saw the withdrawal of all combat troops from Iraq and the downsizing of troops in Afghanistan. For the past 10 years we have heard nothing but complaints from Democrats about the high cost of the Wars. Now that combat troops have been withdrawn from Iraq we see a 2% reduction in Federal spending. Seems to me there should have been much greater spending reduction based exclusively on the savings from Iraq. Could it be spending in others area increased considerably under Obama? Lastly I have to ask does the chart include all aspects of the National Debt? Could you provide some details as to what all is included in each column?
That chart is so wrong it is not even funny. As of today the government is spending around 23% of the GDP.
Just wish people like schultz, maddow, ect, would tell the truth and the facts and not this leftwingnut crap.
Where on earth do you get these graphs & charts????
Obama has spent over $1 trillion dollars every year he has been in office... over 3 million people on the federal payroll.
More than any one in history.
Bashir is bloody wanker, go back to the UK.
The facts & truths escape the ed show.
whooops 2 million on the fed payroll
most of what President Obama has spent during his presidency, is what W. left on the credit card-
we are still paying for 2 wars, and medicare part D, and ETC. from the bush administration.
when has our country ever gone to 1 war, let alone 2, without raising taxes? in march of 2003 when bush signed the 2nd part of the bush tax cuts into law, he also invaded iraq.
tax cuts, illegal war in the same month, add to that medicare part D, and other things bush put on the credit card i don't know about you, but that adds up to a huge deficit.
the bush administration didn't pay for the 2 wars that they LOVE. then they put the biggest socialist entitlement that they HATE, into law, so the drug companies could make money.
President Obama is paying off BUSH's DEBT, and getting blamed for it.
11 trillion dollars of borrowed money comes with one heck of an interest rate compounded daily.
I think that we need to put our entire government on minimum wage for about 2 years and then let them try to survive without food stamps. Very few of them have had to really work for their very survival. Put all of them on medicare for their healthcare and let them pay all the deductibles themselves too. We also need to change the massive government retirement system, let them retire with just social security to live on. I bet we will see some big changes in both of those programs real fast if they had to rely on them for their retirement like many of us do. And all of you corporate wankers here can piss off, what you have been spouting is just plain bullocks. Not many of you actually work for a living either, just over paid bench warmers in do nothing jobs, like our politicians. The only government paid workers that are worth a salt are our first responders and the teachers, and the cops are being turned into the jack booted thugs for the government just like it was in Nazi Germany. We need to make some drastic changes in our system to make it actually work for all of us, or we need to take it all down and start over. As it is now it is a bomb waiting to blow. I will never vote for either of these two corrupted corporate owned and operated parties, they are what is wrong with this country. And the corporations are the down fall of it all.
