This is what lots of people believe it's rooted in this idea that society needs to have the freedom to be free every all ideas other than their own. Thank you Mr. Dyson for your articulate and passionate statements regarding this issue that divides our fellow Christians. Many of my fellow Clergy and friends shared with me their great distress regarding President Obama’s statements. I am personally no stranger to how this divides my Christian community. I once had to intervene in a fistfight in the dining hall at Yale Divinity School between an Armenian Orthodox Priest and a Pastor in the National Church of Denmark over this issue. The Church of Denmark
recently ordained openly gay people to the Ministry. The words exchanged were very ugly. I know it is a cliché, but I must ask. What would Jesus Do? How would the itinerant rabbi who called all to the Kingdom of God and associated with outcasts and tax collectors respond? I know so many Protestant Clergy and Catholic Priests that
are still hiding their partners and sexual orientation. They serve the Church and the Master faithfully. My personal prayer is we call all people to marriage based on our
Christian values of covenant and fidelity. Let us keep talking (respectfully) and praying

He was different, gentle and loving, and non-confrontational. Lauber would be aghast at the comments in some of these postings. The parents have stated that the report is "factual Incorrect" and the sister has stated her brother would be angered to be used as a pawn. Not sure you know the meaning of that expression but if you do, I want the complete opposite . I feel the Washington Post should never had printed an 11 page story on this. Therefore I would have never heard of this gentleman. They paint a narrative with verbs and adjectives that does make the reader see Mitt as a bully. I suspect the actual incident occurred in far less time than reading the story. Fortunately for Mitt he has a long and distinguished adulthood and no one sees him that way.

In the script there is the comparison of Gay rights with the Negro's stuggle in the US. Dyson wrongly defines the Black Church as non accepting of Gays. The Gays are accepted and loved, so are the alcoholics, drug addicts and divorced individuals. And no, a person does not need to be paid to watch the Ed Show. I enjoy the Ed Show and I watch faithfully regardless whether Ed is on or he has someone sitting in for him. It's a little confusing. Ed is paid by the unions to say what he says. You're not paid to say what you say. If you pay union dues, you pay Ed to say what he says.

I am very confused, this is a country of many religions--North America is a place where one may practice his religion--or no religion--without persecution.

Being neither democrat nor republican, it amazes me sometimes how polarized people are about this. But the black community (as generalized as that is) really shocks me. I understand the argument they (generalized again) feel, which is, they had to fight for hundreds of years to get equal rights... because of slavery and all...
I dont suppose it occured to them, maybe it has, that gays have been persecuted since before african slavery started. Its been a socially acceptable thing to hunt, hurt, ostracise and generally mock a gay man or woman, since civilization started. So Id say the gays have languished far far longer than african slaves, and therefore, the argument that they havnt earned the equality doesnt hold true. Just saying...
