Mitt has always lived a privileged life. He doesn't have a clue what it's like to be bullied.
Does this surprise anyone? If you aren't the same, then your deserve to be assaulted, is the way he thinks. He seems to know how to bully very well and he went out of his way to do it. The coward that he is and always has been shows int the fact that he took back up.
Yes, because I'm certain nobody in the WASP circles he was raised in ever had a problem with him being a Mormon.
The prick was laughing about it on Fox News. How could anyone who has an ounce of compassion laugh about a despicable incident that FIVE other people witnessed? I feel bad for the victim of Mitt The Twit's "fun", and I hope somebody takes a rusty set of clippers to HIS hair helmet.
But he appologized. Doesn't that make it all OK? The rightie think so. They do it a lot. My bad. Now it's called mis-speak".
Bullies have operated in our culture for a long time. It has been brought more to the forefront in the last few years. Now we even have a name for it in Adults. They are called HATE CRIMES. We do not need a representative like this leading our country.
If I beat up a person, have I committed a crime. Saying your sorry after the fact is like killing someone because you were driving drunk. You are sorry about it now. But you don't remember??????
Yes, how dare someone profess to have learned from the mistakes of youth and evolve as a person.
You are always exactly the same person as an adult that you were in youth. I mean, look at history. Adolf Hitler remained a struggling artist and combat medic didn't he? Jimmy Carter went right back to farming peanuts and never thought about anything else. Malcom X stayed a drug dealing hustler that only cared about himself. George Washington remained a loyal British soldier that believed only in Crown and Country.
Oh. Wait. NONE of that happened. Adolf Hitler became a homicidal fascist monster. Jimmy Carter is a world traveling humanitarian doing what he can to help the underprivileged and homeless. Malcom X became a leader in the African American Muslim community that further evolved into someone that talked about peace between all people just before he was assassinated. George Washington rejected British rule and helped to FOUND OUR COUNTRY.
Don't say people never change. They change all the time. It's a byproduct of learning new things and there is always something new to learn out there.
Mitt so called apology for what ever he did that he can't remember,50 years latter after the person is dead. What gumption! In the words of his own kind HE'S A CAD!
"Yes, how dare someone profess to have learned from the mistakes of youth and evolve as a person."
Bullying stays with the victim for a lifetime. It can permanently alter his/her world view, it can exacerbate depression, anxiety, and low self-worth.
Mitt Romney SHOULD have said "well, yes that was an unfortunate incident from my youth, but I have spoken to this person since then and expressed my sincere apology for the assault. He forgave me, and the issue was dropped."
Did he say that? NO. He did not deny it, and he dismissed it as nothing by saying he could not remember the incident, snickering while he said it. Evolved as a human being? I don't think so.
I happened to be bullied growing up. They had an expression for it, then. It was called building character. You learned to take the crap thrown at you and be the better person in the face of adversity. Most people that face that, on both sides, learn to let things go. Especially something from high school. I can see him forgetting about it. I did stupid things in high school that I'm sure I've long since forgotten. Get over it.
thank you, david!
It's not "building character", it's tearing people down, my friend. I was also bullied mercilessly throughout school, from elementary through high school. In the 30+ years since then my personal life has been a wreck, with psychiatrists, therapists and multiple hospitalizations, so don't you dare just tell people like me to "get over it", like we brought it on ourselves- if you indeed were bullied it sounds like you have a nasty case of Stockholm Syndrome.
No
JOHN - The time I get over it is when I take my REVENGE on someone.I will NEVER forgive anyone until after I have settled my GRUDGE against them no matter how long it takes.
Ted, to quote Yoda, "That is why you fail."
@9.1
building character came from your parents at home. ie: discipline. i don't for one minute believe you forget an act like that no matter how long ago you did it.
correction. that was to @ 1.9.
I was bullied mercilessky, both at home (my jock brother, Barry) and at school (a posse headed by a jerk held back two years named Syeve Echenrode)...
Being a bookworm and nerd, I always had the answers in class, and even made the mistake of correcting the teacher a few times, having read a head in the textbook... Echenrode saddled me with the nickname, "Professor"...
I had a few phobias, carry-overs from past-life traumas, that he found out about and brought them up constantly.... His posse managed to get into my school locker, took my favourite coat into the bathroom, stuck it into a toilet and urinated all over it...
After three years of this, I had finally had enough... My mother got me into an aikido class... A few months later, Echenrode pushed me down the stairs heading to English class... Fuming, I ran into class, him running after me, laughing... In front of the whole class, he grabbed me from behind with his forearm around my neck... I grabbed his forearm, bent forward and executed a perfect hip throw... After his crashing against the windows upside-down, I did a spinning kicl into his crotch...
In the principal's office, my English teacher stood up for me, describing how I'd been bullied all year... Echenrode was suspended... I was never bullied again, even became a friend with one of the posse... Turned out he had a baby grand at home and played excellent Chopin... He said he went along with the bullying so he wouldn't get bullied himself...
"Faulty memory"... Bull@!$%#! Romney remembers, all right... He enjoyed it, and doesn't want anyone to know how much...
No, but he is soon going to find out. Obama is going to punish him in the debates and then the voters are going to bully him at the polls.
@John-3232336, RE (Comment #1.9):
I was bullied too, periodically, for roughly 3 years, from 4th through 6th grade, merely for having a German last name, albeit 20+ years after WWII. Then again, periodically during my Freshman & Sophomore years in high school, for being too much a nerd and not enough of a jock. While I survived the bullying with no lasting damage and no real short-term damage beyond a ruptured eardrum from a punch to the side of my head. So, all things considered, compared to many others who have been bullied, I can consider myself fortunate.
You can call it "building character" all you want, but that has nothing to do with what motivates the bullies to engage in that kind of behavior, nor does it justify that kind of behavior.
I can't say that those incidents helped me build character, for I already had character. It was the bullies who lacked character, for if they had had character, they wouldn't have been bullies. The only thing I may have gained from those incidents would be empathy for those who have been bullied since, for I've "worn their shoes."
As to Romney, the bullying was, and may still be, a character flaw.
If Mitt indeed doesn't know what it's like to be bullied, he will certainly know it during the presidential debates, as pres. Obama intellectually bullies him off of the stage ! I can hardly wait to sit down in a comfy recliner to watch the debates with chips and salsa and a nice cold beer in front of me as I LMFAO as Mitt gets buried by a combination of facing a superior intellectual opponent and Mitt's own stupidity ! It's going to be very very entertaining !
Damn straight larry! The debates are going to rock Willards over privileged world, HA HA! He's going to find out what bullying really means when Obama gives him a REAL haircut on national TV! ...........Willard's not going to be able to use his convenient Etch-A-Sketch answers during debates. An honest debate requiring real answers will illustrate what a huge con artist and EMPTY SUIT Willard really is. In 2008 then Sen. Obama destroyed Sen. McCain who was twice the man Willard ever was, and although he was a huge flip-flopper too, not half as much as Willard is. Call it bad karma, devine justice, or whatever, but Thugs and liars like Willard always seem to end up getting what they deserve. I like the cold beer, salsa and chips idea, but popcorn would be great too!
Does Romney have any ideas?
He's got to know, every time I see him I want to punch him.
Oh no, I'm in the minority vote.
I just want to puke!
How does Mitt keep his horns so well hidden?
Now we know why he walks so funny, Its his pointy tail he's got stuck up his.......
xxx ooo - He probably grinds them down on a daily,if not weekly at the most, basis.
This story did not surprise me. When you feel entitled and superior, sometimes it goes to your head.
just 'sometimes' ??
LOL
You beat me to it.
Yes , In the PRESENSE of OTHER UPPER CRUSTERS , he thought this was FUNNY !? " If I OFFENDED ANYONE ........" !!!??? How about the KID YOU HELD DOWN and CUT his HAIR OFF, Tell HIM YOUR SORRY ........ASS !!!! Although I feel that EVERY LITTLE thing in your LIFE does NOT need to Come OUT - This just MAKES SO MUCH SENSE , For the MAN WE SEE NOW !!!! HE and The REPULSICONS STILL want TO BULLY The POOR / SICK / WEAKER / SMALLER / LESSER PEOPLE THAN THEMSELVES !!
ONLY the DEMS HAVE YOUR BACK !!! ALL 99% of US and YES the 1% TOO !!
Mutt Robme was a bully in school? I guess he is still in school because he is still bullying people. But this time it is the whole country, not just schoolmates.
He feels that his being a child of the rich-- in other words a rich bich-- gave him the right to bully classmates. Now he is the rich bich and he still feels like it is his right to bully people.
I hope he gets bullied at the polls! OBAMA IN 2012! FOUR MORE YEARS!
#3 JSLR, There's lots of empty room in that head for things to go to, like feeling superior and entitled.
Mitt's head is so full of feeling superior that he has no room for feeling much else.
He is insufferable.
@JLSR, RE:
While Mitt may have gotten through Harvard with a lapse in his bullying behavior, it relapsed on steroids when he started working for Bain Capital, with the Corporate Raiding Binge and all the LBOs, using other peoples' money to strip ailing companies of all their assets.
At least Michael Milken was convicted for what he did, and has since seen the error of his ways and repented, but Romney is certainly proud of getting filthy rich while extracting far more capital from the market than he returned, and forcing far more people who didn't work for him to get fired than he helped to get hired.
Romney would have to become a philanthropist to such an extent that his remaining wealth was no more than what he inherited from his father, if that, to sufficiently make amends, for he didn't earn his income, he stole it. People like Romney are nothing more than leeches on society. While he may have rescued the Olympics, he left the US taxpayers with a hefty part of the bill.
mutt has no idea how it feels about anything, peroid
right, biliie. hence.....plastic man.
I`d CALL HIM (RICH)PUPPET MAN - But I DO NOT want to OFFEND ANY PUPPETS !!
TOYBB - WHY NOT ? They would DESERVE it anyways. The way I look at it if someone cuts me down, they better EXPECT THE SAME back.
puppets probably have more feelings.
Correct Billie.
Don't think Robme has feelings at all. Not when he laughs through an implausible lie. Even right after he's caught dead to rights in a having done something cruel or insensitive he lies. We're talking about assault now!
He's taken a lot of hits in his run for the WH. It's like he's bullet proof but, not in a strong way. More like he's too slimy to really let anything stick. Changes his positions again and again to fit in the crowd.
No. When I see Mitt Romney himself bullied at earlier age to others, it seems that he was the person who used to find faults on others and protect himself from any and all. He is an elite and no one can bullly an elite no matter what they stand for.
What about other elites?
I suppose 'other elites' just call Daddy or Daddy's lawyer...
SEN - BET ME !!!!! If they're going to bully me,they better expect me to take REVENGE on them one way or the other.
Sen, #5, I am still waiting to see what it IS he stands for, other than himself winning the election at any cost. His ability to bully has shown itself in many of his political ads. Once a bully, always a bully.
He is such a flip-flopping liar that if he finds out that Obama has gained votes on the gay marriage issue, by November he will announce that he is a gay transsexual lesbian.
Ted 5.3; India 5.4 : Great postings. I agree that Mitt Romney has no leadership. He will never become President. Even though I do not agree with President Obama in all matters such as I objected mandatory health insureance that now is in the hands of the supreme court ; the issue of marriage that I believe should be between a man and a woman, and for Gay people it should be called civil union or any such; and I believe abortion should be allowed only when the life of mother is in danger; But I will vote for President Obama in 2012.
No--Look at all the attack ads that Mitt used against his former running mates--winning is everything to him-and he does not care how or who he hurts in the process.
He is a bully at work. So how do you think he will treat people if he is elected?
Mitt will treat people like garbage
Will you say the same thing about the President when the PACs that support him use similar attack ads?
The republicans are the ones who put the PACs in place. So they use hundreds, they should not complain when Obama uses a few. Obama ask that every one do what they can. Do the republicans do that?
steve ( # 6 ). winning is everything to him 'cause he's been running so long, he's just plain desperate.
Easy-12, why is it acceptable for either party to do it? If it's wrong for one it's wrong for both. It's not an either or proposition. If you condemn one you have to condemn the other.
Sometimes you have to fight fire with fire! Only Obama will use the FACTS!
Once again Obama knows when and what to say and Mittens is caught up in his own tangled mess of his own doing.
Really, john, the subject is about Mitt being a bully, not pac money.
You were the one complaining, John, not Easy. Are you willing for everyone not to use or accept PAC money, we would all go along with it, but we aren't going to commit political suicide on the Left, while the right takes advantage of it.
Now you are going to suggest it is ok for the right to bully , but the left better not be found guilty of it.
You make it sound like the average Republican has any say in how PACs operate. Many would like to see them shut down, including me.
As for bullying, the law is the law. If someone on either side broke the law they should pay for it. Although I imagine the statute of limitations on any charge from high school hazing decades ago (when it was an acceptable practice) has long since expired.
As for "the right" bullying people. How? By saying they disagree with the President and how he does things? That's fine. That's the purpose of political discussion. Now, if they're saying "Vote for Mitt or we will come into your house and kill your family," then no. That would be bullying on a political scale.
John::: I guess I was in high school before either you or Mutt were in high school. We didn't go around bullying classmates. We were RESPECTABLE people back then.
I was raised by two women-- my mother and her aunt. They taught us three girls how to behave-- and all our classmates were taught how to behave. I think the worst thing that was done was spitballs in the classroom.
I did get called down to the principal's office once. His secretary was out ill and he had to leave for a short while so he had me play secretary.
I'm sure Daddy had people watching over him.
Romney certainly seems to be lacking of any human emotion or feeling, he's more like a robot then a human being. I highly doubt he could relate to someone being bullied.
It sounds like Romney was always a bully, probably brought up to believe he is better than others. I was going to say it was the result of the silver spoon in mouth but in truth, I grew up in Marin County, CA where there were many wealthy kids that never bullied or acted better than anyone else.
I don't know anyone who wasn't a bully at the age of 18 who didn't remain a bully, whether they took it out on their employees, wives, children, customers, etc.
In Mitt's case it'll wreak havoc on the poor, the disabled, students, etc.
He's still the same.Just look at his campaign ads. I still have the same core values as I did in High School. Apparently, so does Mitt!
I would think not bullies pick on others that are easy targets. And to this day he makes merry about the people jobs and pensions he has stolen. I don't think he has changed for the better not at all! Even his Queen says he's a wild and crazy guy! A line stolen form SNL but I think he is more like the JERK!
Pretty sure he knows how to be a bully though... pretty sure he was on the bullying side of things....
When I was in school, we took care of bullies our selves. It didn't matter how many. Once you stand up to them, they usually leave you alone. In Mittens case, I doubt he has the guts to bully someone on his own. He needs help and sounds proud of doing it.
LARRY - Back when I was in high school,I took care of them in the metal shop.I ended up smashing their hand on the anvil with a 10# blacksmith sledge.I was kind enough to remind them to move their hand or they might get SMASHED.Unfortunately on their part, they didn't believe me until their hand got smashed. That's what I call SWEEEEEET REVENGE because they never bothered me since.
Mitt is a typical Mormon. I live in a hive of them, and they are all just like him. They are raised to think they are better then anyone and they put others down that don't think just like them. It is sad.
Great comment. Very helpful. Bigoted hate speech that has no place in our country. Don't worry everyone, I will continue to be the one who points out this hate. Just keep condoning it. I mean hate speech is ok......as long as it is justified.
People, and I mean all people who bully are nothing more than cowards.
The only thing Romney understands is how to be a rich, elitist snob.
No it is a gold foot in hie mouth. He makes me want to puke
SUEING - Now if you puke, make sure sMITT ROMNEY is the one that gets PUKED on.
Of course he doesn't, but I'm hoping that the media and the good people in this country will show him how it feels in November. I can't believe how such a person of privilege could be so mean, it's disgusting, not "stupid" as he claims.
Mitt has no idea what it's like. He has always been the bully - his whole life.
Mitt needs to apologize publicly to the high school students.
That's if they are still alive.
Nope, the guy he bullied, died a few years ago.
He doesn't even know what it's like to be human much less bullied.
Mittens has no feeling for any one other than his rich friends.
Mittens is as poorly qualified as was George (the shrub) Bush.
If this idiot is elected, before we have a chance to vote him out, he and his cronies Ryan for a start) will totally destroy our nation.
KANAWAH - What do you mean "vote him out" ? The only thing he has right now is the republican ticket,he's not in the white house which means HE'S NOT THE PRESIDENT.
Kanawah said IF he is elected.
Mitt is pathological sociopathic liar.
In other words, he's a politician. Just like Barack Obama.
He has a worse memory than Reagan......Ha, Ha....convenient in mitts case. A real man would fess up instead of making up excuses and then trying to apologise.
Gene, #24, I've been saying that for a while now. It looks pathological to me. That would be dangerous if he were elected. His ability to bully shows up real well too, in subtle ways. I believe he'd do anything to win this election. Tell any lie, throw anyone under the mess, anything...he knows it's his last chance.
That makes him dangerous, as does all the money he has at his disposal.
Remember the debates? Romney tried bullying Perry and Perry was ready to knock his block off. lol....
I'm sure that Obama will have no problems, reminding willard of how he uses his etch a sketch......lol
always enjoy your show, always share your views, but honestly - why do you have those senseless cell phone polls? it's always a straw dog question - even more senseless is why you post tweets, who really cares what joejanedoe has to say, it's your show, keep to that
