In this May 6, 2009 file photo, Bristol Palin, daughter of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, arrives at an event to promote National Teen Pregnancy Awareness Day in New York.
Bristol Palin, daughter of 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, took issue with the President Barack Obama’s stance on gay marriage in a blog post Wednesday.
She thinks it’s laughable that Obama consulted Sasha and Malia in his decision to back same sex marriage. She said there's a time when dads need to be dads and lead their families.
She writes:

While it’s great to listen to your kids’ ideas, there’s also a time when dads simply need to be dads. In this case, it would’ve been helpful for him to explain to Malia and Sasha that while her friends parents are no doubt lovely people, that’s not a reason to change thousands of years of thinking about marriage. Or that – as great as her friends may be – we know that in general kids do better growing up in a mother/father home. Ideally, fathers help shape their kids’ worldview.
In this situation, it was the other way around. I guess we can be glad that Malia and Sasha aren’t younger, or perhaps today’s press conference might have been about appointing Dora the Explorer as Attorney General because of her success in stopping Swiper the Fox.
Sometimes dads should lead their family in the right ways of thinking. In this case, it would’ve been nice if the president would’ve been an actual leader and helped shape their thoughts instead of merely reflecting what many teenagers think after one too many episodes of Glee.
Bristol Palin's teenage, out-of-wedlock pregnancy came into the national spotlight when her mother was running for vice president.
Bristol has a tumultuous relationship with the child's father and former fiance, Levi Johnson.

To Bristol Palin, go eat a dick, that will keep your mouth occupied.
I second that. Anything that keeps her face silent and her legs together is a positive solution.
As Narrow-minded and hypocritical as I find Bristol's statement, I find your comments even more offensive. She has the right of freedom of speech and her "speech" should be addressed on the basis her opinion and questionable facts. A personalized sexual attack is wrong! I condemned Rush Limbaugh for his attack on Sandra Fluke, how are your comments any better?
I hope you get thrown off of this blog for that statement. You sorry sack of leftie crap. You are a coward too politics anon. This blog is not worth a flip if they let you stay on it.
I agree she needs to shut up and so should he stupid mother
Johnny.....for once I agree with you. I don't care how much no one need Bristol advice Politics and Trish don't need to be offensive. There is no place for that here.
I do not agree with the Bristol and I agree her opinion holds about as much water as your's and mine. No one cares what she has to say she has no importance other than her existence. I don't think her opinion is needed any more than dick chaney's daughters.....except that one of dick's daughters has experienced the gay experience and she might have something to offer. Too bad she is not speaking up.
TM and Johnny....for once I agree with both of you.
Oh you tight asses pull the sticks outta your bum's and laugh a little! @PoliticsAnonymous I thought your comment was hysterical and well, great advice! While little miss fake "straight and narrow" has the right to express her "opinion", even if she clearly spells out that her opinion was given to her via her father, some of us would prefer it if she kept such nonsense to herself. And quite honestly I'd rather her have a dick in her mouth than spawning more of the idiot clan, those genes are ummm lacking in the intelligence department!
This is vintage liberal, hateful, venomn-filled,vile, zero logic, and then you talp abou who poisens the atmosphere. Did some liberal say, "war on women" ? Sorry, the true misoganists reside in your party, rapists, insulting etc. Never in my life have I heard any conservative I know talk about a woman the way you just did.
Here it comes from " manurefor brains" : Reagan thanks for the laugh this morning.
Hypocritical bullsh*t. From the unwed mother who wanted to teach our kids to "just say no." And when, for god's sake, has HER father ever led in anything. From what I've read, mommy controls everything, and not very well.
AND........I don't think any pictures of her should be printed unless they're pre-facelift and show her really fat swelled head.
I'm a woman. And my main question is who the hell does she think she is? Because I don't think she's anyone. Not anyone of importance, or anyone special, or anyone to be listened too. This idiot wrote a letter to Obama, and couldn't BELIEVE it when he didn't answer her. Really? Who the hell does she think she is?
Did you ever listen to Rush, Glen, Ann Coulter, etc. It doesn't matter where this vitriol comes from, it should be aborted. It is like torture; when one practices the behavior of radicals they become radical, just like those they rail against.
Yes Bristol you little c*n! - is your baby's daddy in her life?
No he isn't you little slut.
Taker, Socialist, you are all class ! What will you do for an encore, sleep with another woman ? You are what you called that youngster !
If the Obama girls have been watching too many episodes of Glee, then Bristol has been watching too many episodes of Gilmore Girls.
I'm curious about how Bristal know what the girls watch. Have the Palins "bugged" the WH?
Who cares what she thinks and who is she to judge how The President and Mrs. Obama parent their Daughters!
With all of the media and lefties judging her and her mom on how they parent and you dare to ask that question? Tell all of your leftie brethren to get off their case and then maybe you will have someplace to talk.
Right so we are supposed to ignore Palin and her kids when they say the asinine crap they say. Guess what storm the media nor the left knocked down Palins door and forced them to speak. Just like no one asked for your opinion yet you can't resist running your mouth on a left leaning blog knowing you are doing it to try to angry people with your little digs, you don't want @!$%# you don't start @!$%#.
Storm you know quite well that when one side claims to have a monopoly on family and marriage and parenting they invite criticism. Guess what the dems aren't running as being the party of "family" values. You can call that unfair if you like but you know that this is just the natural way things will work.
If the GOP doesn't want to deal with these issues they stop bringing them up. That's like the right saying we don't want to talk about abortion.....then stop bringing up abortion.
I'm honestly you don't find it interesting the right wing affiliated unwed teenage unemployed to my knowledge mom is attacking the president for his view and trying to bring up his daughters. Sadly she seems to share her mother's lack of listening otherwise she'd know glee had nothing to do with this it's the parents of those they know who can see are loving and caring people.
LOL What did you watch???? LOL
"... thousands of years of thinking about marriage.???" "Ideally, fathers help shape their kids’ worldview???" (What about mothers?) "....appointing Dora the Explorer as Attorney General?" (Better than your mother for VP.) And speaking of your mother... sure are following in her footsteps as as clueless, stupid "B" word.
thank uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
If Bristol's blog sounds like her mom... that's because Bristol isn't writing it.
Have you SEEN her real blog/social media posts?
You can thank the likely SarahPAC funded Nancy French for using Bristol's blog to broadcast the Mama Grizzly's opinions.
Remember, kids, when Sarah was governor, she had her staff write letters to the editor promoting her views and praising her work. Now she has Rebecca Mansour on the job. Nancy handles Bristol's ghostwriting.
Amusingly, the blog was supposed to be about Bristol's life as the single mother of Tripp. That sure didn't last long, did it?
Yeah, Bristol Palin is *in any way* qualified to preach about such things.
When is the media going to start ignoring these idiot Palins?
we have steve schmidt and john mcCain to thank for the palin's.
WTH! OMG!! Who does this girl think she is? Wait a minute. A teenage UN-wed mother is giving advise on family to the president of the United States??? This is like the twilight zone!! I think republicans have lost their frekin minds! Their kids too! She better just STFU!!
thats right
Well., let's just wait and see how the presidents children turn out as adult citizens. Anyone want to bet $10,000? Some kids make big mistakes and some just little ones. Judge them if you must, but let's all hope that they do well. As for those who have made those mistakes we hope they have learned to not repeat them since we are all citizens who want our fellow men and women to do well and have productive, happy lives.
She could be worse, one of multiple generations of unwed mothers who leaches off the taxpayers !
And, of course, the HTT Republicans want to perpetuate that by denying birth control to this generation. ROFL at the ridiculousness of this kind of thinking.
The Republicans never denied birth control to anyone. You are not aware of this because you are a typical, misinformed Taker !
Right. Because she is such a shining example of moral character and good choices. Yes, She is the expert on marriage.
I think she phrased her points fairly politely, and hope we can do the same in response. This is not to say I think she is right. And it is rather unfortunate that her own bad choices have been so thoroughly aired in that we all know she herself is a single mother whose child plainly does not have a mother-father family. It does make her an easy easy target. Let's take the high road, people. Pity her for having to grow up with her crazy, dopey, fame-hungry mother (OMG, how awful to live with that!) and cut her some slack for now.
As much time as she spends in front of the camaras, her child doen't even have a mother.
1st we had Keeping Up with the Kardashians, then we had Jersey Shore now coming this fall the Biggest, Best, and most Awesome Reality Reality show of all Bristol Palin give is to you Straight" straight more or less that is
lmao
For her to say "that’s not a reason to change thousands of years of thinking about marriage" is just so stupid. I hear this argument a lot.
You know what else was around for thousands of years also?... Slavery. But luckily we were evolved enough to end that. And now times are evolving again to end this discrimination.
You know what else, Eric? she obviously took the advice HER FATHER gave her, which seems to have been, "forget about puttin' the aspirin between her knees", and "forget about involvin' baby-daddy in your child's life". Really??? Exactly what were they teaching her about "family values", so that she would be able to give sound advice to the FIRST FAMILY???
Bristol has not learned yet that people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
i will throw a boulder...lmao
i applaud the president in what he did by talking to his family.i believe thats what a parent suppose to do,they talk to there families before making a decision that will affect there families lives.i think she dont have a clue what having a family is cause its not just about u anymore when u have a family its about all of us.i think she watches to much 16 and pregnant or she been hanging with her mom to long.Society is funny,i find it amazing how we have never had a president that was gay, single, had no kids, never been married.
Check your history. We have had Presidents that were single, and presidents that had no children. George Washington comes to mind.
G Washington did too have off spring except he didn't have to mention then because they were only 1/5th of a person. Funny how you righties always repeat the myth and leave out the man who had flaws.
If G. Washington HAD mentioned his children, you Repugs would have said how insulting it was to his wife, because marriage is so important to you guys.
Except it's alright to BEAT the wify. I just don't get that.................
You can say wha you want but Bristol is hot! and she's smart as well. Glad she is not afraid to stand up and express herself. If those two Obama girls have that much influence on their Dad at that age, lookout for what is ahead. This affirms even more that he is not a leader.
Hey folks...what do you think about that criminal in West Virginia who got on the Democratic primary ballot and beat Obama in 10 counties...tells you something about the Dems in that state.
Shows the mental capcity of the 40% that voted for him.
Thinking any palin is "smart" doesn't give you much either. And don't ever talk to your kids about issues. They might have something to say.
rufus, do you read what you write. Try it one time, read it a few times to yourself. Then you may say, yikes, I sound like a reall nut job don't I? As for West Virginia I wonder how many of the 40% have the education to vote for a criminal,,,,,oh that's correct, the right wants all their sheep to be uneducated so they will easily follow everything the righties have to say...Just ask Frothy Santorum how he feels about people getting an education.........
of course I read what I write and I mean what I write to emphasize the real nuts here...as a Democrat, you of anyone should know how many of the 40% have the education to vote for a criminal...besides, what does it matter, they voted and they were heard...and this doesn't speak well for the Obama campaign
And a tea bagging republican cheer leads stupidity on, yeah these are the people we want in charge of who gets into office. I wonder how many of the 40% were really tea bagging republicans who followed OxyRushs bright ideal of registering as democrats so Obama got the chance to run instead of Hillery because old OxyRush was counting on US racism to not elect a black guy to the White house.
hey folks what do you think of a spineless daftdodger for pres no thanks
GWB isn't running.
Or maybe it tells one about the 41% of that population that is still racist or just doesn't like black people.
"we know that in general kids do better growing up in a mother/father home"
Just to be clear, Bristol... This piece of evidence was found when they researched the difference between two-parent homes vs single parent homes. Not that I think there's anything wrong with it, but you are a shining example of the latter.
To your credit, your fact twisting is consistent with your mother and her nut-job extreme party. Well done.
I applaud President Obama's forward thinking leadership once again. The Republicans want to take us back to the segregationist 40's. Obama wants to take us forward beyond 2012. Crystal's just a puppet unable to really think for herself which is a said, the problem is she's not alone.....
This just shows how arrogance seems to run in her family, because there's no doubt where she got it from. I think she really believes anyone gives a rat's a$$ about her opinion. I certainly don't.
Bristol and Sarah should keep quiet and stay in Alaska!!
But all the money is in the lower 48. That is why they are always strutting themselves in front of the "lamestream" media that Sarah hates so much. They can't get all the money and attention they so crave by talking to moose hunters. They want money and lots of it and will do almost anything to get it (except actually work).
BBWWWWAAAAHHHHHHH HAHAHAHAHA Bristol, you and Lipstick Mama need to do Stand-Up ASAP! You guys frickin' kill me! The Un-Wed Mama had pre-marital sex and now she has more wisdom than anyone else? Well, yeah, more than the Lipstick Mama and Papa! Oh, and apparently more then Bachman too!
The Crazy Circus is Back in da' House! Welcome back my friends to the comedy show that never ends!
Obama has the right to feel any way he chooses. He just does not EVER need to point out any one else changing a view on anything...whether he calls is flip flopping or etch a sketching.
He also cannot accuse anyone else of lying because there is not one campaign promise he kept. So he lied over and over and over. He can surely do that...just don't accuse anyone else of doing it.
He has the right to take money from his millionaire and billionaire friends...just don't down anyone else for doing it.
You see, that is the left's big weakness. THEY ACCUSE THE RIGHT AND PEOPLE ON THE RIGHT FOR DOING THE EXACT SAME THING THEY DO.
Wake up Ed heads. Nov. is not far away.
Mitt Romney for President of the United States
Mitt Romney is the biggest political coward in the naiton at the moment. Your nominee sucks you that so now you have a man who was for gay marriage, then war against it and now is kinda not totally against it again.....just like literally every other issue
Romney is sa coward and the right knows that, the lefts knows that as does the middle
yeah, ok johnny, this was about Bristol but you must have the need to get your Rush talking points down quickly before you forget them and go onto the next posting. So you know this is MSNBC, the Foax News site is a mouse click away and if you hurry they are giving away, cotton candy, rightie kool-aid and rides on unicorns too!
Johnny LOL
Well, I watch ED but don't cosider myself an Edhead. President Obama has fulfilled every campaign promise that didn't need the do nothing congress to approve. He said nothing about changing anybodys oppinion. Maybe try litening. You do know, there is a major differance from Listening and Hearing don't you?
What an ignorant cow! And she's the spokesperson for teenage abstinence?! LOL! Why she has anything to say about "marriages" of any kind is rich! But gall and self-importance runs in her family ...
because Lipstick Momma set her up with speaking engagements and she makes gobs of cash!
Note to Bristol -- The Christian churches were once happy to legitimize same sex unions. So, really, we are now going back to truly Christian roots that honors any love and commitment shared by two human beings. So, no, it's not "thousands of years" but a rather recent development to be rigid on this subject. (Link doesn't work -- google when same-sex marriage was a christian rite.)
I feel sorry for you, Bristol, that you had the misfortune to be raised by intolerant, stupid people and thrust into the spotlight at a time of personal turmoil by a fame-hungry mother. Shame on her. I hope you can escape your family history and grow into a fine human being despite all that. I hope you find love and marriage with a wonderful person, and hope that whatever love you find is actively enjoyed and honored by those around you. Which is why most of us do fully support gay marriage. Love and commitment is a blessing, in whatever form it may come.
and what happened to Rome...it fell because of it's immorality.
What happened to Rome was the wealthy were under taxed and the Roman empire was finding it difficult to pay for the Empires military needs to oppress the people in the Empire. So we get another fine example of someone home schooled.
This is the most thoughtful and certainly one of the most civil comments on this thread. so many vile, crude comments, on both sides of the issue, are indicative of what's wrong with our political process today. BTW, I support gay marriage.
Excuse me? How about if YOUR daddy was paying attention to you, you might not have watched too much "16 and pregnant" What a little snot!
maybe her daddy WAS paying attention to her. why else would she forget to 'put that asprin between her knees'? LOL
We do have free speach in this country, but unfortunately those who speak the most don't have the most intelligent things to say. Look at what you do before you say anything about others, something about throwing stones and glass houses, hummm...
What was her momma letting her watch when Bristol became pregnant? Seems she should take her own advice.
Oh, and Bristol, dear, President Obama is leading his kids in the right way of thinking. Just because something has been one way for centuries doesn't mean it's the right way.
following your logic, it doesn't mean it's the wrong way either!
As a mother, I taught my Children that all people are different an they make discoveries in life and develop tolerance as they grow up and move forward. I am thankful that as they learned about life they took the advice that I gave them and can think for themselves. I'm proud to say they in some cases have been the victims of the depriving of civil rights and also have benefited from it. People like Bristol can not make much of an impression on people who think for themselves. I'm not worried that what she says will be repeated much.
