We’ve proven here on The ED Show that hydraulic fracking is a dangerous practice.
For years Republicans have tried to downplay the dangers of the fracking. Oklahoma Senator James Inhofe claims that there has “never been one case, documented case, of groundwater contamination.”
Fox News has also tried to defy reality by saying that fracking poses no risk to drinking water. Most shockingly John Stossel has claimed that methane in water “happens naturally” and “has nothing to do with fracking… weird stuff happens.”
All you have to do is watch the documentary “Gasland” to see that Stossel is full of gas himself.
Now, a recent study from the EPA, that has been validated by an independent expert proves groundwater can be contaminated by fracking.
Last year the EPA found evidence that dangerous chemicals had contaminated water near rigs in Pavillion, Wyoming. The report released earlier this week states that:
After consideration of the evidence presented in the EPA report and in URS (2009 and 2010), it is clear that hydraulic fracturing (fracking [Kramer 2011]) has caused pollution of the Wind River formation and aquifer… The EPA’s conclusion is sound.
The report goes on to say that the geology of the area and shoddy construction of the site played a role in the contamination. The geology of any given area plays a direct role in whether or not groundwater is at risk.

Here in California we have leaks and nothing has been done to correct the gas leaks.
They have certainly been frakking up the now GOP controlled states of Ohio and Pennsylvania, causing ground-water problems and earthquake tremors.
They're tearing up the woods near my home now, too. I have an excellent video on my profile page about hydraulic fracturing.
The big oil companies are fracking our ground with numerous chemicals like diesel fuel not just the water they claim does Inhofe mean to tell us that there is no danger of contamination from these chemicals being shot in ground....where ground water tends to be........

Two things..Republicans managed to pass a bill that disallows these companies from adhering to The Clean Water Act. Foreign companies (TransCanada) are gaining access to U.S. soil using eminent domain. A Texas rancher testified in front of a Congressional Committee that when a rancher refuses to sell or lease their land, they are threatened with eminent domain by a foreign country. These eminent domain laws are legislated by each state. If they do not have the proper legislation in place, the protection of a land owner is weakened. The Texas ranchers sued. TransCanada claimed because it allowed third party carriers, it was in the interest of eminent domain and included this on the application form. The judge (so far) has ruled checking off on a form does not make it so. They must show proof and the third party carriers cannot be a subsidiary of TransCanada. My opinion. No foreign company should have any say how our land can be used. There are also attempts from the Republicans introducing legislation that will remove President Obama from the decisions regarding public land and eliminating The Corp of Engineers and the Bureau of land Management as well.
Here they just condem the property, the state takes control and uses it for what it wants.

Up the road from me they are using 30,million gallons of water for one well. People like the Kochs and Inhoff and those who will line there pockets will lie,cheat and cover up the truth. I am worried about the Drilling in Anartica, a pristine and virgin wilderness is going to be changed forever and all they have to clean up and oil spill there is shovels and brooms. We pay them subsides and they make billions and they have NO modern way to clean up there disasters. Fracking is using crazy laws at least here in Ohio to drill where they do not have permission. Fracking has been put on fast track. How many wells are to many to drill at one time ? I heard on Rachael where Exxon Mobile wants to drill to Earths core. WHY? There is no purpose for it, is the oil subsides we are giving them burning a hole in there pocket?
