when u get down to brass tacks, this is not the days of hitler. just as hitler, bush, chaney, rove. rohmendy (or however in the hell it.s spelled). does not fricken matter much. just as sarah palins mental child she was using to try to get into power these guys have no more sense. i would say "trigg" had more sense than all of them put together. they might think they're "white" but as for them and their spouses, how about the color of their @!$%#s which is blacker than anything on this earth. we can't smell as bad as all that. they need to recognize when they smell no better than anbody else on this planet. yahoo!!!!!

I understand that a lot of people like the republican party, what I don't understand is why a lot of poor and middle class do. In this day and age, with all of the different ways to get political information, do they only listen to Fox News???
Women voting for republicans that have declared war on them, people using government programs to live on like Social Security, SSI, Disability, etc. voting for republicans that said they will cut or end them outright. Voting for republicans that want to end the Postal service is just plain nuts, everybody send and receive mail.
Should Romney and the republicans win, the middle class will slowly fade away.
Every American regardless of party should not allow this to happen. It won't just affect democrats, you republicans and independents need to pay attention. Yes/no. There will still be a middle class because they are now upper middle classers who aren't quite in the 1%. Today's middle classers will be tomorrow's poor and today's poor will all be dead from starvation, exposure or lack of medical care.
Sharon, there will be 4 classes, just not what we have now. They will be rich, richer, richest and the poor. The middle class of today will be the poor living in poverty under a Romney presidency.
Romney is an agent and mouthpeice for the same failed policies that got the country in the terrible shape it is trying to climb out of. Romney would destroy all the progress that has occurred under Obama. The Republican party has gone insane and needs a house cleaning, the Republican party of 30 years ago would be ashamed of them.
One issue that we have not talked much about is deregulation. Romney wants more deregulation of the banking industry. Did we not learn anything about deregulation of the greed of banks and mortgage companies? Do we really want more deregulations? Do we want industries like the airlines, oil companies, etc. not have any regulations. Just look at what's happened in the airline industries, large airlines like Delta have become monopolies, prices for tickets have sky rocketed, we now have to pay for taking our luggage when we fly, etc. This is only getting worse. We do need to have a watchful eye on these companies.

remember airlines use fuel also in fact it is their major expense they just cant eat a doubling of their fuel costs. They have devised a way to cut the loads on planes which contribute to fuel use by charging for extra bags. That keep people from bringing them which lowers the weight of the plane . I was a private pilot for years and know that weight equals fuel usage. Another cost is airlines having to service routes that are not used much but they are required in some case to service anyway. The subsidies for those routes are being cut off as they should be.
You asked why don't people like Obama. It is simple . he is black. He has done so much better than Bush II. I am white and believe he could do so much good if The republicans would only give him the chance. They only want to destroy this country and they are working very hard to do it.
Why doesn't anyone really want to say that the issue with President Obama is that he is black. Because he is black, he will never be able to do anything good or right to many. And many would rather see Sarah Palin president than Barack Obama, a black man. I'd bet money that many can't sleep at night because a black man has become president and many will lose even more sleep if he is a two-term president.
Slackware, it's easy to see that you are a die-hard republican voter. Only die-hards tell other people what the republicans told you to think and say. In case it haven't registered with you, what the republican party is doing and what they want to do, unless you are a member of the 1%, they are talking about doing it to you too. It does not matter that you vote republican, you will not be spared because to the rich,you are poor and needy. If you are not using a government program yet, sooner or later you will need some of them. Your retirement money that comes from your paycheck, healthcare when you get old, what will you need that your republican friends call big government and want to end. You are all for letting family bite the bullet to help you, but are you willing to do without to help anybody? What do you think republicans are going to do with all that money when they shut down all those government programs, I hope you know you're not getting a dime, the rich will get their big tax break. When you're old and broke, you can always say, I helped my party shut down big government.

Not only will the middle class not survive under Romney and the GOP, the country itself will no longer have the status of the Great U.S. of America as we always have had. If the GOP wins the presidental race, we will be known as the "LATE, GREAT AMERICA THAT ONCE WAS". That will be the greatest shame of all time!

I completely agree with Senator Bernie Sanders. I've always believed that the Wall Street Fatcats and their Republican/Right-Wing/Neo-Con/Tea Party nutcases should APOLOGIZE to the American people for what they did to the American and indeed the World's economy in the eight years under George W. Bush. For them to be asking the POTUS to APOLOGIZE to them and tone down his criticism of their recklessness is assinine. As for the so-called Independents? The reason why they don't like this President is because he is the wrong color, PERIOD!
