ANY republican plan is immoral,it doesn't matter how many times they try to change it to make it look good it will never happen.
Although it was a Democrat, Clinton, who ended the citizens' entitlement to poverty relief. Clinton's DLC/"New Democrats" enacted more right wing policies than all the Republican administrations since Reagan.
The republicans enjoy touting their Christian faith and espousing what good Christians they are. Yet, their policies and proposals for new law go against the very Christian principles they so proudly profess to uphold. I suggest they spend some time reading their bibles to better guide their actions.
The Catholic Church owns Catholic Charities and was a major contributor to liberal policies built in this country, but many Catholics are Conservatives.
Give a hungry Catholic a free lunch and they are a liberal until they can afford to buy their own lunch, and then they are a Conservative. How soon they forget.
Vote him out of office "RYAN".
Either the protestant or catholic bibles state the poor must be taken care of and given a chance to get out of poverty. The Ryan budget not only keeps the poor, poor, it makes ever more people poor.
Both, actually. Christ made it clear that we were supposed to help the poor. "I was hungry, and you fed me." We have worked so hard to explain-away Christ's teachings, saying, "But what Jesus really meant was..." Which reminds me -- Does anyone know if Ryan ever read Christ's words concerning wealth -- how it is "easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven?"
The GOP/Republican Party were never Christians.... look t their history.
When ever you choose the rich and empowered over the meek and poor, you have to go away and search your heart and soul. When you empower the rich and empowered and punish the poor , just go away.
Yes! Not only is his budget immoral it is cruel and malicious.
Joy, Iso agree ! Boner and his lot are pathetic and he has the nerve to get up and talk against obama when they and the super PAC have flooded so much money into campaigns they are the scum of the earth. They get up there and rail against the president when they are the ones who want there wealth and be damned the poor and middle class.
Well DUH. Of course it is immoral and unethical. He should represent those who voted for a representative to tend their interests not the ones who bought him. Don't dance for the ones who bought you!
Unfortunately that's true of EVERY politician.
It's beyond immoral! And the logic is this" I want to liberate people who are cripple by taking-away their wheel-chairs, I want to help the hungry by taking-away their food". It is evil!
These are the policies that America has embraced since Clinton's 1996 welfare "reform." By now, I think most people are aware of some of the consequences of these policies. For example, the life expectancy of the poor in America has actually fallen below that of people in some Third World countries. We're OK with that. We've been redistributing taxpayer dollars to corporations for years to cover the costs of building factories and offices in foreign countries, exporting hundreds of thousands of jobs while increasing the number of people desperate for jobs. Fewer jobs for more people in desperate need of jobs. This gives everyone the incentive to work harder for less.
Someone needs to tell Paul dumb ass Ryan to real Matthew chapter 25 verses 31-46 and see what Jesus says about governments role in caring for the poor, the sick, people in need of clothes and shelter.
Matthew 25
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
David, thank you for posting those beautiful words. No where in those words did he say turn your backs on those in need, or hoard your riches and take from the poor so you will have more. The poor will inherit the riches of the earth. Welcome to the blog.
Pam...
It's funny you should welcome David to the blog... It would seem he has been here since October, 2010... But he's only posted a dozen or so times in that year and a half...
Hope we see you more often, David... We can always use more Davids around here... After all, we're named for the greatest Biblical poet...
The Republican Budget approach and The Sermon on the Mount aren't even in the same universe!
You got that right. The so called party of religion, yeah right.
Finally the Catholic Church is concern about "living" people!
Jack77880,
Good one...thanks for the chuckle.
Matthew 25:31-46
New International Version (NIV)
The Sheep and the Goats
31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’
44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’
46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life. ”
I do not Ryan and the repuks have ever heard of that little long read it..
Ryan and the Church both look bad; isn't this the same Catholic Church that is chastising nuns for choosing to continue ministry to the poor? Now they are coming down on Ryan's budget for being detrimental to the poor...either the Church is for the poor or not.
Oil subsidise were never intended to be for a business that is well established. They are for helping one to get a leg up that is just starting. I see they like to pick the winners and losers the oil big oil companies win and the common people lose! BIG TIME!
While the Ryan budget is appallingly immoral, it really does appear to be consistent with the values of today's generation of Americans. We do not accept the reality that not everyone can work, and that (after years of massive job exporting combined with ending welfare) there simply are not jobs for all who desperately need one.
the republicans want the oval office, they want the majority in the house, and senate--they want to appoint the next 3 judges to the supreme court that way they will always get what they want for the next ten or more years===god help us if they win in november. we need to make sure our families and friends vote and vote for obama!
How about willards foreign policy.....scary....

Amen.
These clowns wave the religious flag for convenience. They know nothing and feel no true spirituality. Paul Ryan is a self serving douchbag who is completely absorded in his own ego and how important he thinks he is. Will someone PLEASE invest in advertizing that tells people to REGISTER and VOTE, do it now. The bullies already killed Acorn and the help they gave and now they are enacting voter suppression laws all over the place. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get a nationwide photo ID and do it NOW and it will kick these @!$%#s in their teabags at voting time. They enact their laws, and the Democrats need to get right out in front of it. Executive privilege never meant more than it does now.
I really do think the GOP isn't ready for a big surprise.
