Pam, Dreary here, as well. They are more than just cold hearted, they are cruel and indifferent to the most vulnerable among us. I know my church has made mistakes, and I am not without criticism of it, but I am glad they are condemning this immoral plan of Romney/Ryan's.
To me the Romney/Ryan plan is like kicking someone when they are down. It is also un-American. I grew up in this country and I always found it to be charitable. Americans who can vote for Romney are unfamiliar to me. I do not understand them at all.
The social security and medicare funds are solvent way into the next decade, and after that will be so if the waste, fraud, and abuse is taken out of the system. There needs to be means testing, as well. Why should Bill Clinton or Warren Buffet receive funds that FDR intended to be used to successfully pull seniors out of poverty? It worked, and helped millions have a decent life, but I see it being wasted on the rich. It wasn't intended to pay someone's country club dues. Being the political third rail, no one has been brave enough to make the necessary changes which will keep seniors out of poverty and with health care, without it being a financial burden for the economy. It doesn't have to be that way.

We have to hold them accountable but how? My brothers late wife was on oxygen, called a pharmacy and ask the price after medicare. It sounded high so she called another, same chain, differant store, didn't mention medicare and her cost was cheaper than the cost after medicare at the first. She reported it. Was told it wasn't enough to go on. How do we hold them accountable if they won't follow up on complaints?
