Romney is only pandering to students to get their votes.
If students vote for him, he will jack up the interest rate after the election to make a profit.
Students shouldn't be paying more than the Federal Fund Rate of 0.12% because:
In fact, providing free education at low-cost state colleges would actually work out as a profit making activity for the federal government due to the tax revenue from increased income.
How often is it possible for government to make a profit.

Students cannot trust anyone in the GOP or Democrat who does not agree with the POTUS either. Some Dems leaders are Repugs in disguise. Those who voted against the proposals the president has put out there, to help the working poor, the middle class, women, and student should be voted out. Student loans and scholarships are one way to distribute future wealth. Repugs do not want to distribute any more of what they have. Low salaries is one way. And uneducated worker is already put into a lower social strata than educated. And guess who do they want to educate, just their children because they are the only ones that can afford it. The top 15% does not want to give anyone else any opportunity and they are paying very good money to the Repugs to keep the status quo... And the sad thing is that some Dems are in it too. We have to really be careful how we vote. Is it it something that this society is totaly contrary to nature. A while back there was an add from a minority scholarship fund that said "a mind is a terrible thing to waste". All should be given an opportunity because we do not know who will be the one who will bring cures to future diseases or the one who will bring new ideas to help make a better world for all. How ignorant it is to stifle the mind of humanity by imprisoning them to a life without education.

Romney just fipped again, now he is agreeing with President about low interest rates for College students, but he also said there is no cheap money available. Willard Mitt Romney he is true 1%er. Mr Boehner is patting himself on the back again for getting 89% of what he wanted in Congress, More money from the Big Pac's, saying No to the President and this Country. Romney idea for a good marriage is to fine a good lookin woman, and her father has lots of money. She also needs her own Health Care Insurance. And Last but not lease to have a good paying Job. My brother is a pilot for American Airlines and he told us recently that the bigwigs in the Airline have been telling/threatening them.... that if they didn't take cuts to the salaries, pensions, etc... that the American would incorporate with US Air. They were told if that happened that the pilots, airline crews, etc would loose their benefits, etc. anyway.
It turns out that US Air has negotiated with their union and that instead they will come out with better pay, benefits, etc. So their union signed on to join with US Air and now the bigwigs at American don't have a foot to stand on in their negotiations to try to cut their wages, benefits. So much for the bigwigs trying to screw the little guys.
By the time election Tuesday comes in November, Romney will have flipped & flopped so many times he will have become so twisted he won't remember what policies he's for and what he's against.
He'll have the TEA Party tugging him so far to the right he'll fall over the edge, His campaign staff will likely be trying to tug him towards the Middle, and the RNC Platform tugging him both ways.
While Romney has avowed that he was Severely Conservative as Governor of Massachusetts, by the time November comes, Romney will be Severely Confused.

I think you or your sister has things a bit confused. Mitt Robme served his mission for the LDS church in France when he was a young man, before he was married or had a family (young men in the church usually serve missions for the church between the ages of 19 to 21 years).
I think what your sister saw was when he was recently talking about going to France on vacation with his wife. I think he must have been talking to a group in Florida, because I think Marko Rubio was standing behind him at the time. But that wasn't his mission or when he was working for the LDS church.
No. College students and all others in that age, know very well, that Mitt Romney is not for education but only for rich 1 % ers. Only to get their votes Mitt Romney now said that he will not increase the interest rate for the student loans. We all know what he really will do to America.
I find it interesting that he wants it to be easier to take out student loans, while destroying Pell Grants... That is because students don't have to pay back Pell Grants, but Student loans must be paid back, even if the recipient goes bankrupt... This makes student loans the most secure of bank loan... You can walk away from a house that is worthless, but a student loan follows you forever...
In North Carolina we have that Fox woman (Republican rep.) who said that she has no respect for student with debt of $80,000! She has got to be kidding. My son graduated from St.John college, and now he has a debt of 85,000! Now that heart less tin man Chenney has started to speak out too! Too bad with new heart he did not get any nicer! I guess once a heartless, always heartless! His wife and daughter are the meanest bitches I have ever sen or heard! No, wrong, there is one more, Ann Coulter!

But wasn't one of the things President Obama did early in his term in office was to take the student loan programs away from the banks, and make them direct from the government? So that the banks are no longer a middle man for those loans which just increased the costs, etc.
That's true, but do you think Romney is going to allow the government to do the job banks have profited off of for years?
The problem with a presidential order, which is what President Obama used to take these loans away from the banks in the first place - do you think Congress had anything to go with it? - is that the next President can rescind it any time he feels like it...

I agree that Robme is a cold, calculating, greedy, selfish and I would add.... completely lacking in any compassion or empathy or understanding of what average American's lives are like. But then... most of those traits come from his being a Repug and a clueless rich guy.
He is not however a fascistic religious fanatic. That description was pretty much dominated and demonstrated by Santorium in particular. The only religious fanatism that Robme might have shown was simply part of his act in convincing the conservative religious right that he is as fanatical as they are. So he is "a huge fake and a big fat liar" as you mentioned... which also applies to pretty every Repug/TEApug and just comes with the territory.
But in reality... members of the LDS church or Mormons aren't normally anywhere near as fanatic as many evangelicals, born-agains, etc. I speak from personal experience.
