Although I respect her for raising 5 children, I would also like to see her spend time with working mothers, visiting day care centers, speaking with unemployed women. Of course Ann, Queen of motherhood had nannies, maids, cooks, housekeepers, gardeners. An though Hillary Rosen didn't have any intention of ridiculing stay at home mothers, she is correct that Ann, Queen of motherhood has never actually done any of the work associated with childcare, or being a housewife, etc.

Short of giving directions to the cook about what menus to prepare, etc. she has had servants all of her life (even as a child) to do anything that could possibly be considered work. She seems to be just as snobbish and out of touch as her husband, the Mittster.

While the Romney's mommy-war against Hillary Rosen's accusation that Ann never had to work while raising her children has been exposed for the ulterior motives involved, and that much, if not all, of the sting from Rosen's statement had that first sentence been relocated so that it appeared after the gist of what Rosen had to say about the Romney's being financially well-off enough that Ann wasn't under any economic pressure to work outside of the house and have only the familial roles of mother and husband, the fact remains that being a good mother is hard work.

Certainly, much of being a mother has to be pleasurable and provide sufficient motivation to make the job of being mother worth putting up with the hard part of the job. Otherwise, the human species would have been an evolutionary dead-end, while our ancestors were still hunter-gatherers, living in caves.

Moreover, even though the Romney's may have had hired help to do house work and yard work, I've not seen any evidence to support the possibility that Ann abdicated the hard parts of being a mother to a Nanny. Additionally, I'm not familiar enough with the Romney timeline to know how old the Romney children were when Mitt first attained the status since being wealthy. All I know is that wealth was achieved before Mitt got any inheritance from his father George.

My mom was fully occupied as housewife and mother; the only help she got was from dad or one of us kids, generally as we reached 4 to 5 years old (for the easier stuff, at least). As the oldest, who did my share of baby-sitting the younger ones when mom & dad were out, along with otherwise being expected to help with the younger kids, I know a fair amount about how busy taking care of several children can be.]

Though I have some of the same feelings in response to Queen Ann's comments about it being "Mitt's turn" as you do... I must point out that this comment might also have come from the way the Repug party has customarily chosen their presidential candidates.

The Repugs usually choose the candidate whose TURN IT IS, rather than the one they are inspired by. They choose the candidate who has been through the primary campaigns at least once or twice before... and thereby paid their dues in the nomination process, ie. Nixon, GHW Bush, Ronnie Raygun, Dole, McCain and now Robme.

Democrats by comparison choose their candidates based more on who they are inspired by, who has the best ideas or platform for moving the country foreward in a progressive way. Which is why Barack Obama got the nomination in 2000 during his first and only primary for the Presidency.

I didn't see the link that TM posted, so I don't know what exactly it said. But I have to say that the chances are, if it wasn't a link that was actually put out by the LDS church then more than likely it was put out by a NON Mormon group who are only interested in spreading false information. If that is the case, most of the stuff in it is either not true or a corruption of what the church actually believes.

We have all seen this happen over and over with President Obama and the misinformation and falsehoods spread about him, his religion, his nationality, etc. by Fox and the right-wing talkers. Right? That is why I have tried to make myself available to answer questions about the religion and correct misconceptions and misinformation which I know is out there and rampant. I can tell you whether the information you've heard is true or whether it's false.

But I hope that you and others in here will not just believe everything you hear, see or read about Mormonism before finding out if it is really the truth. There have always been a lot of lies spread about the church... I know this from years of being a member. It is the exact same thing that we have criticized the trolls who come in here and spread lies about President Obama and Democrats.

So I just ask for you all to please approach this issue of Robme's religion with the same open minds that you all have about other issues, and not accept falsehoods instead of finding out the facts... which I am willing and happy to give you if you ask. You may think that some of the doctrines of the LDS church are strange.. but that is mainly because they are a bit different from your own. But that is the case with many other religions in the world. I know there are also things about the Catholic church that some find strange. The same goes for Judaism, Hinduism, Islam, etc. But assume that there are logical reasons for the different beliefs of those various religions.... even though we might not understand them.

But let me put your minds at rest concerning Robme's LDS religion as you seem to fear it might affect his governing of the country. For all of his faults with his economic policies, etc. if he becomes President (Heaven forbid!) there is absolutely NO DANGER OF HIS INCORPORATING his religion into the government. After all, did he force everyone in Mass. to become or practice Mormonism when he was their Governor. No... of course not.

The LDS church has always respected the Constitutional rights of "freedom of religion" and they also recognize "the separation of church and state". They do NOT want to see religion and government being incorporated into one... as other country's governments incorporate religion. In fact, they recognize that if it weren't for these 2 aspects of our country, the LDS church never would have been allowed to come into existence or to survive. Indeed... the early church did still get a lot of persecution even though this country was supposed to allow freedom of religion. Which is why the early church was driven to the Rocky Mountains to be separate and free of the persecution they received early on.

In fact, there was more danger of Rick Santorium forcing his religious principles and beliefs on the country if he were still in the running and he made that perfectly evident in his campaign. The only danger that Mitt Robme will pose to the country if elected is his Repug economic policies and deregulation, allowing the corporations to take over and run rampant like they did under GW Bush... which is what all of the Repugs have wanted to happen.

Also the beliefs of the LDS church are not dangerous and they are not evil..... and I'm concerned that this video you saw has given you that idea. And they certainly do not consider blacks nothing... so if that is what was said in that video.. it is NOT TRUE. The church is not prejudiced against any race, nationality or ethnicity. This seems to me to be more proof that whatever was in the video was not the truth and it was made by a group trying to spread lies.

Also the LDS church IS A CHRISTIAN CHURCH... I would not have belonged to it all those years if it had not been.... so they are not going to call Christianity evil. The church's real name is THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS. The name of Jesus Christ is in the name of the church for Pete's sake. All of the beliefs are based on faith in Jesus Christ as the one and only Son of God and the Savior of mankind. Doesn't that sound like a Christian belief to you? Members of the church pray in the name of Jesus Christ, they baptism in the name of Jesus Christ...literally everything in the church is done in JC's name.

The idea that Mormons aren't Christians is one of the many lies that have been spread by ANTI- Mormon groups, including most evangelicals. Just like they have also tried to spread the lies about President Obama BEING MUSLIM, or not a natural born CITIZEN of the USA, etc. You all haven't believed all of those lies, so I don't understand why any of you are ready to believe the lies being spread about Mormonism.

I was insulted by the lies that Lawrence O'Donnell was saying on his show a couple of weeks ago, and reporting them as if they were facts. I had emailed him last year when he had said some of those same things, and I was very disappointed in him repeating them again more recently. They were also lies that have been spread by Anti-Mormon groups since the beginning of the church. I was happy to hear him finally apologize after he was called out on those falsehoods. I have considered the MSNBC hosts as more responsible for making sure what they report is the truth, but by his reporting those falsehoods... it made him no better than Hannity and O'Reilly on Fox reporting their lies about President Obama and his policies.

So like I've said... I am willing to answer any questions, and tell you and anyone else whether or not what you've heard or read or seen about the LDS church was true or not true. I will try to explain why Mormons believe certain things that you might think are strange. I can also verify that what they believe really can all be traced to biblical references. Dscully, Hi there Cherokee sister. I have it all the way back to Pocahontas as well as other tribes. This is on my Grandmothers side. I also have Cherokee on my Dads side. Ancestry is a passion of mine. My brother started it many years ago. He wrote to people all over and went to court houses looking up things. I have all of his hand written books. My heart breaks as he passed away before Christmas he was to be home. I had so much to share with him. Pictures and records he had looked for for ever. I carry it on in his memory. You know the computer and digital cameras were the best things ever made. I have a passion for our military and the native Americans . I would love to find actual Indian descendants one day and have it come full circle. Who knows Dscully we may be related LOL!

Oh... not only do we share some Cherokee blood, but you are also interested in genealogy? How exciting. I have also done a lot of family history and genealogy research on my families lines over the years. Some of my lines have been researched back to when they first came to this land on the Mayflower... I have several Pilgrim ancestors such as William Bradford and Stephen Hopkins. I also have ancestors who have fought in all wars throughout our countries history... Revolution, War of 1812, Civil War, etc.

One of my lines also links to President Grover Cleveland. It is also my maternal grandmother's line that ties into the Cherokee lineage. But I haven't been able to get too much farther back or much information beyond this Cherokee great grandmother. I only know her name, that she was most likely in a common law marriage to my 3rd great grandfather with whom she had several children before she died. But don't know specific bd, dd or her parent's names, etc. It's one line I need to do more research on. They were in 1800 Kentucky and there are limited or no records that wilderness at that time.

My paternal lines all go back to Italy and I've only been able to go back several generations with those via Catholic church records, etc.

Dscully, This is amazing. My roots are so strong in Kentucky. I have ancestors all over the world. I have the whole enchilada Ancestry, So I am able to go over seas to get records. I too have ancestors that were on the Mayflower. I also have ancestors who came here and settled I think 13 years before they arrived. Would"nt this be wild If we are related ? One of my best friends and I found our our roots are connected. They had been researching for years and could not find the missing piece. Her and I started talking and I connected the dots. genealogy is fascinating to me. The more I find the more I want to find. My Dads side came here by way of Virginia. Then they came to Kentucky. This is amazing. The thing Is we are all related by 2 people who started populating the earth. One side Of my family is traced all the way back to King David. There is a CD I have to get hold of to read all the history of this.

I think my Kentucky relations came from the Carolinas originally with surnames.. Young and Smith. The 3rd great grandmother of mine from Kentucky who was Cherokee was known as Linda Robbins.

My family has been in Kentucky since long before statehood. My dad's father is descended from Major John Hardin on his mother's side and other ancestors settled in western Kentucky in what is now Livingston county, next to the Chickasaw land My mother's family were also early settlers in the early 19th century.

None of my ancestors were on the Mayflower, three were in Jamestown Colony several years before the Mayflower landed and survived famine, Indian, and plague, then moving north and west deeper into Virginia and then No. Carolina.

There were stories that we had some Indian ancestry (Choctaw) but my dad and I had DNA testing a couple of years ago and we are 100% European.

I'm not surprised at how distant Romney is from the majority of Americans. He has always had a smug entitled attitude. His father was totally different in his attitude to the economy of the poor. He did a lot to promote housing for lower income people and tried to do more, some of his recommendations were stymied by Nixon.

Republican leaders of thirty years ago would not recognize the party as it exists today.

This Romney spent three years in France on a 'mission' when young men his age were being drafted. Now he isn't going to file his tax return until October because he want's to hide it as long as possible.

Another genealogist! Glad to meet you. Wasn't John Hardin a gun fighter, or am I thinking of someone else? So your ancestors settled in Livingston county? I found my ancestors in Raccoon county, Kentucky.

I don't know much about what Mitt's father, George Romney was like and what his attitudes were. He was before my time, but I have wondered if he was as out of touch as his son. But it sounds like both of Mitt's parents were more open minded and concerned about average Americans.

Maybe because they weren't born into wealth and had experienced being of low to middle income. Also they would have lived through the Great Depression where everyone was struggling to some extent. You would be surprise at all the people with Native American heritage. My dad was born in south Georgia where the Billy Bowlegged tribe settled on Billy's Island in the Okfenokee Swamp, my grandmother grew-up with the chief's daughter. I have some relationship to the Billy Bowlegged tribe about five generations ago. There's a statue of the chief at the entrance of the Silver Springs tourist attraction here in Florida. My great grand mother on my mother's side was half-cherokee. I also have a great grandmother on my dad's side who was also half cherokee. I hope someday to have DNA test done to have my ancestor traced.

I don't have anything against self-made millionaires either, but Mitt Robme is not even self-made. He started out with a silver spoon in his mouth... and got his start with millions spent by his parents on sending him to the best schools, etc.

Then he made his additional fortune on the backs of thousands of middle class workers, by taking over the companies they worked for... driving up the debts, and bankrupting the companies.

Then leaving those workers behind without jobs, he drained any assets left in the companies, including the workers pensions. The Government was then left to pay off a partial percentage of the pensions Robme had taken for his profits. What a corporate scam and rip-off artist.

I heard on one of the shows that Robme supposedly wasn't leaving any money to his sons, but he set up trust funds for his grandkids. I'm not sure why the kids don't get anything. Maybe he's stingy with them also.

I know.... Chris Hayes subbed for Rachel and did a story about how over the past few years, that every single issue that has been popular and had the highest favorability... has not been passed. Some of these included the public option, Obama's jobs bill, Buffett rule.

Hillary Rosen was NOT referring to Queen Ann's abilities as a mother... she WAS REFERRING to the FACT that Queen Ann doesn't have a clue about the lives of average women in this country. She has never had to work outside the home to help bring income in to support her family, and take care of her home like other women have to.

So for Queen Ann of motherhood... staying at home and being a mother or going to work was CHOICE she could make. But she insinuated that other women who do work outside the home are CHOOSING to do that... when in reality many women who work HAVE TO WORK TO SUPPORT THEIR FAMILIES, IT'S NOT A CHOICE. They would rather stay home and raise their children if the could.

For that matter... Queen Ann doesn't really have to do that much to take care of her home at all. She has lived in the lap of luxury her entire life... and literally has NEVER WORKED, not even as part of her child-rearing. She has had maids and nannies and cooks who have done all of the actual work related to child-rearing. The woman who worked for her family when she was growing up has even confirmed that Ann has literally NEVER WORKED IN HER LIFE... her family has always had housekeepers, etc to DO ALL OF THE WORK and that woman was one of those.

So when Queen Ann makes statements about WHAT WOMEN IN THIS COUNTRY ARE TALKING ABOUT AND REALLY WANT... SHE DOESN'T REALLY KNOW WHAT SHE IS TALKING ABOUT. What's more... since the majority of Robme's supporters are also millionaires and the upper crust of society... the only women Queen Ann is most likely talking to are other women with servants and NO FINANCIAL PROBLEMS whatsoever.

They also have no clue about what the average woman in the middle class or working poor need or want. Anything Queen Ann is supposedly telling Mitt Robme is all fictious... just talking points in his stump speech to fit the narrative of what he WANTS TO PORTRAY THE NEEDS OF WOMEN TO BE whether it's true or NOT!
