THANK YOU Ed Schultz for coming to Hilary Rosen's rescue! I loved it when she spoke the truth and could not believe how many people, including Democrats threw her under the bus! At least she was speaking the TRUTH! Has anyone asked Ann Romney how many maids and/or housekeepers she had? Has anybody asked her why she can get Holistic Therapies to heal her from MS & Cancer while the rest of us cannot because insurance won't cover and her husband wants to repeal Obamcare! We need someone to ask Ann Romney some hard questions as to why they are entitled to things the average American is not.
While Ann Romney seems to be a lovely woman and a great Mom, I'm betting she's never had to deal with:
1. Deciding to pay Day care or buy food
2. Getting a cut-off notice on the electricity bill
3. Choosing to miss a parent conference for fear of losing her time clock job
She simply cannot relate to single mothers or married women where two "time-clock incomes "are required just to keep the basics going for a family.
Mitt and Ann where not always rich. They made their money when Mitt got to Bane Capital. Sure they have been better off than most people in the country but can we say Barack Obama and Michelle Obama understand how we the middle and poor deal with our bills? If the Obamas did understand this they would help get bill passed that would stimulate the economy and not the unions. My wife stays home with my daughter and I am not in the upper class. It is a choice we made because it would be better for her to teach our daughter about life then be a teacher at her school. My wife taught 2nd grade for 7 years and loved it but also loves staying home with my daughter. We live in the DC area which is very expensive to live, and we live check to check, but feel that Romney can give us more opportunity, and more money in our pocket in the future.
My question is why hasn't anyone in the media ASKED her those questions???? The same applies to her healing MS and Cancer by utilizing both practices of traditional and Holistic therapies! Insurance won't cover holistic or alternative therapies and her husband wants to repeal Obama care! So she can get the care she needs, while the average American cannot!
Sorry. But you have some bad info. Mitt got ten million from his wealthy father. Mitt didn't exactly grow up in a log cabin either. His family lived in a wealthy community, he went to private schools and universities.
And after graduating with degrees from Harvard, he turned around and dissed Obama for having been at Harvard. Mitt is truly a two-faced Janus. Nothing he says can be trusted. He says one thing to one crowd and quite something different to another. And saying he would eliminate various Cabinet posts and Federal agencies just shows he does not know his US political science - that or he hopes no one else does either. What he says is just more pink slime.

The Union saved my job last year and the Republicans have voted NO, and has BLOCKED any and everything President Obama has tried to do since he's taken office! They also made it very clear when he was elected, that all they cared about was derailing his Presidency and making was sure he does not get re-elected. And if you really live pay check to pay check, Romney don't give a damn about you! Obama has only been President for 3yrs, so what made you think opportunity was going to come knocking on your door? I was unemployed the entire 2nd term of the Bush Presidency, and gained employment within two months of Obama's Inauguration. I was born and raised in DC/MD, don't live there anymore, but still have family and friends and no way can you honestly say that Barack Obama has not been a "positive" force and influence for America and our image! As President there are many things that take place on both sides that none of us would agree with.....but we ain't running a country! I look at character, intentions and the connection he has with his wife and family. His background, and his GRASSROOTS leadership alone says so much more about him then you can ever say negative or even begin to understand. Or maybe you need to stop "frontin" and stand in truth!

You all knock Ann Romney, but why not Michelle Obama? Michelle attended Princeton, and Harvard. Both were the two most expensive schools when she attended. Do you say Michelle's mother who was a "homemaker" until Michelle entered high school as a women who doesnt work? How did she pay for over $200K in college bills? How did the President pay for over $300K in college bills?

I don't think either party is knocking mothers who choose to work or mothers who choose to stay home with their children. If women choose to stay home with their children, then that should be their "noble" choice. They shouldn't get a Government subsidy (welfare) for doing so. If anyone wants to forego their welfare to stay home with their children, I'm all for it. Ann Romney did not get paid by the Government to stay home with her children.
It's a dilema that a lot of families go through each and every day. "Do we want that extra income or do we want a stranger at a daycare raising our children?" A lot of families choose to raise their own children without a Government check because they feel that is more important to them. It is a Choice.
At some point we need to stop rewarding bad decisions. The real question should be, "Why are you on welfare and how do we get you off welfare?". If you are on welfare for a legitimate life circumstance then the Government should help those people get back on their feet. If you are on welfare because of your own life choices, then I have no sympathy for you.
So how his Hope and Change working for ya? Poverty has exploded, country divided, cost of food up, value of the dollar down, gas prices up, deficit spending out of control, scandals rampant (I plead the fifth....GSA),........Hope and Change has turned out to be Smoke and Mirrors.

I just listened to the GSA on CSPAN3 today throw all of our tax dollars away on extravagant vacations. Just another example of how Government wastes taxpayer dollars. They have no accountability to shareholders or boards of directors. If they did, this would never have happened.

Inflation is on the rise. Gas prices have doubled since Obama took office. Oh, but Tim Geightner has said that this economy can better handle higher gas prices than it could a couple of years ago. Does that make you feel better?
The real issues in 2012 are the economy and the deficit. Nothing else really matters and anything else is only a gimmick or distraction. This President wants to focus on anything but his policies as they pertain to the economy or the deficit. It's his only chance of re-election.

EVEN IF Romney's claim is true, Obama is not the one who fired the women. It was the corporations who moved their jobs overseas, just like Romney did to so many workers. It was Romney's buddies who were busy firing people, laying them off, hurting women and children and denying them "the dignity of work."
So make the point! Obama didn't fire them. Romney's buddies did. Romney and his crew have been firing women in greater numbers than they have been firing men lately -- they got rid of the more expensive men first and exploited the women at lower wages until they could shift those jobs overseas as well.

I know the middle class and poor folks are so tired of rich folks telling them they understand their plight while they plot on how to crush them. Its amazing to me that someone who has not revealed or discussed their plans or ideas on how he would try and change things for the better is allowed to dodge the issues. I am independent and vote for the better person for their discussed ideas not party. Although not 100% successful I will at least say President Obama has victories in several key areas he talked about while campaigning. He also tried to push for things he said he would (Med Reform) However, the GOP sat on their hands and blocked any chance of a reasonable bill. The only thing I know about Romney is he will keep things as they are for the Yacht club set and devastate my country as he downsizes and cuts programs with no real plan. You do that with the Contract for America our debt was scheduled to be paid off next year. Well, the Bush tax cuts screwed that all up.
We have been at war also. I think taxes should be even higher on the wealthy, as this is what has been done historically, until the wars are paid off. Maybe Cheney and company could show their Patriotism by giving us a refund.
Cuts for spending should be done with a scaple....not with a axe, IMO. Like telling contractors "Hell no! We're not going to pay 1700% over the fair market value!!"

I think that would be fair and simple. However, Dem or Rep won't support that because then they loose the ability to grant their campaign contributors special tax breaks....

I like the idea of a progressive tax. Throw out the loopholes, but why didn't that happen? And, we all know more have been added since Reagan's time.
I think the President's change would have something to do with not anticipating the obstruction.
Also we had wars (one entirely unnessary and we are still paying out for that as there is no complete closure and it may never happen) that also coincided with the economic crisis. We have always raised taxes for wars and the Contract with America was "repealed" by a whim by Bush. These 2 things alone is a big part of killing the debt plan that was supposed to be paid off next year. Sad.
As far as our Congressional representatives go, I say tough. Let them run on their records as public servants. Get money out of election races and after being elected too. You know...I've been forgetting to ask this question and do the research, but I thought there were laws restricting lobbying for special interests made about 25 or so years ago. Do our representatives ignore them, changed the laws or what? It makes me angry that *our' voices seem to get ignored for the most part in favor of the wealthy.

I don't think that Mitt can solve his problem with the gender gap without surrendering votes elsewhere. While the Conservatives or Tea Partyers aren't going to vote for Obama, they might decide to stay home. And even if he solves the gender gap problem, he still has a problem with Hispanics. Solving the Hispanic vote problem enough to get the Hispanics to stay home is still going to cost votes elsewhere. While Mitt may be like an Etch-a-Sketch in many ways, enough of Mitt is etched in stone to cause a major problem, likely enough of a problem to get Obama reelected.
