Today- Wisconsin Senator Jon Erpenbach stars in a new ad for Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett’s run in the Wisconsin gubernatorial recall. The ad positions Sen. Erpenbach as one who lead the charge against Scott Walker’s “war in Wisconsin”—making him a valuable endorser for all those who participated in the 2011 protests.

Barrett’s spot comes the same day Scott Walker rolled out an ad apparently touting job growth in Wisconsin—saying that the state added more than 17,000 private sector jobs in the first two months of this year (but it fails to mention that when you take into account last year’s losses the amount of private jobs added since Walker’s been in office amounts to 8,100). Didn’t Walker promise to create 250,000 jobs by 2015?
Apparently Barrett's campaign has drawn the attention of Walker's. While Walker's team has produced ads targeting both Barrett and Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk he's currently only bought ad time for the anti-Barrett spot. Which Barrett's team seemed to take as a good sign:

Most of it went to the states for infrastructure programs, which Republicans were happy to steal the credit for. Most all the programs proposed since Scott Brown took over the late Ted Kennedy's seat in November, 2009, have been blocked by the Senate Republicans filibustering everything. 'Obamacare' only passed because the Democrats had the possibilty, through Parliamentary rules, to pass it through reconciliation, which caused Republicans to howl it wasn't fair, even though GWBush used the exact same rules to pass his tax cuts...
Speaking of those tax cuts, Bush/Cheney didn't bother to put the costs of those into the Federal Budget, along with the costs for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, Medicare Part D, and the secret bailouts ($7.7 TRILLION!) of the banks to keep them solvent while they weere starting to collapse before the summer of 2008. He just kept raising the debt ceiling, with the willing help of Congress, and putting this all on the credit card. NONE OF THAT WAS IN THE FEDERAL BUDGET! It was all off the books, about $12 trillion dollars of debt, PLUS INTEREST, hidden in plain sight during the entire GWBUSH presidency...

Its actually silly to point fingers at each other and say its Left or Right, when both sides are equally culpable. Both sides are addicted to spending, both sides are equally guilty at obfuscating their own guilt and blowing the other sides part in it out of proportion.
Wether its a fact we agree with, or not, Govt. spending is a reality. The fact that both sides do it is indisputable. Anyone trying to say their side is angelic and honorable is just as foolish as the other saying their side is instead.
Politicians dont go to Washington to be altruistic. they do it because THATS WHERE THE MONEY IS! Lobbying, contributions they dont have to give back, favors in back room deals, outright bribes... thats part of the game. They call each other names and blame each other in front of cameras, then go share a drink and laugh about how stupid the voters are for falling for this political theater.
The talking heads make money stoking political rhetoric and keeping their fans/listeners tuning in week after week. They make a fortune selling stuff to sheep dumb enough to constantly believe "its the end of the country" so they beter buy this or that.
In the end, its all crap. Im still wondering that myself. Im not entirely convinced our votes matter much anymore. Im increasingly convinced that decisions are made long before we even know about the problems. It seems to me that more often than not, these politicans decide things among themselves, then play out their theater parts in front of cameras, then go vote how they all agreed to without regard to what you or I want of them.
Im struggling with feeling disillusioned with the entire game, and wondering if that is exactly the effect they are hoping for anyhow. Politicians play a game of fear, confusion, blame and rhetoric with our hearts and minds. They know how to make the people of America react how they most desire. They take turns being the "good guys" and "bad guys". In the end, really, whos will is served? I think thats what bothers me most, who REALLY is benifiting from all of this? It isnt you, it certainly isnt me. I know they get rich, I know that problems never seem to get solved. I know that in the end, nothing we say or do matters anyhow. So who will I vote for? Right now, I dont trust any of them.
